Hello,
I have been using the search function for a while trying to get an idea about the general opinion etc. I am really hyped about remastered after reading here for a while.
As I am pretty late to the table it was pretty hard to get a collected idea on comeback interest (or perhaps a lot of players never left).
I know Day[9] will produce content and I have seen interest from inControl and Ret in some threads. Cant wait!
Any posts that I missed? Anything from the rumor mill?

i heard mca64 will return!

I heard that the infamous legendary gosu Telecom will arise from the ashes like a Phoenix to take the throne that is rightfully his.

I once heard a story about a soccer personality. He loved soccer, played it since he was little, became semi-professional and even a prolific commentator on "the best sport ever" as he put it. Let's call him SeveralPeople.
Then this new sport hockey started to gain traction. It pompously claimed to be a "better version of soccer" because there were more goals, tackles and fireworks. The hockey scene became more lucrative than soccer, but not because of its own merit. No – the governing body artificially infused cash into the hockey scene while actively suppressing soccer.
SeveralPeople lapped it up hook, line and sinker. SeveralPeople was a hockey personality now, and essentially never mentioned soccer again. "Soccer? I guess that was a game I used to play, but it's old and I don't really want to talk about it", he would say.
Flash forward a few years. The governing body has messed up hockey beyond repair, and realizes "hey, soccer was pretty good all along, huh"? The governing body officially pivots to soccer again and infuses it with cash and resources.
Cue SeveralPeople coming out of the woodwork. Apparently they all loved soccer all along.

Eh, I've always said I liked BW better than SC2. Pretty vocal about it whenever anyone asked me.
Still really enjoyed and still enjoy SC2 as well, though (watching & playing).
Ppl like day9 & incontrol grew up with bw, spent their entire childhood obsessing over this game. It's pure love. That never changed just because they did SC2 as well. Pretty sure neither of them ever said SC2 was better than BW, at least I can't remember. I hope that they will play again, and produce lots of content. They're the best the SC scene has to offer in terms of personality etc.
on topic, i will play & stream sc:remastered, for sure

I heard a rumor that idra and some other SC personalities will be streaming on release day...kinda like when Heroes of the storm was released or in beta...I forget.
It would be cool to see idra play some BW terran again, even for just 1 day!

I think people said you had really good mechanics back when you were playing Brood War, do you remember your approximate eAPM range during those days?

Agree with this and thanks for confirmation, Hyped!

We need to kidnap Mondragon and make him stream for food.
|
No way Idra will stream again or comeback i thought he already quit E-Sport

NonY was streaming the BW protoss campaign a few weeks back. Needless to say, he wrecked it. Controlling Zeratul perfectly against the swarm of the Overmind. Let's just say he's ready to defend his TSL throne. Might that Overmind turn out to be Mondragon once again? Will we see a new season of TL-Attack? Will Chill return to save the strategy forum? Did Draco ever really quit? ESPORTS is written in all-caps, always. And DRAMA is inevitable.
I can't wait.

I can't wait until these rusty SC2 has-beens come back to my scene so I can save replays of me absolutely smashing them on ladder. These are people I used to idolize years ago. I can't wait to beat them all now that they're old an decrepit.

You're confident iopq. I myself am not that confident that I would smash for example Day9.

I expected nothing and I'm still disappointed. Where's the eOnzErG hype? Where's the Bakuryu mustache? Where are the Lancer pics?

Unfortunately judging from his posts a while back, it doesn't seem like he'll be coming back to play: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/user-streams/111141-stream-liquidnony?page=95#1886
Of course it's very possible he's changed his mind, I was watching him stream when he revealed that he was at the private conference in Cali for Remastered a couple weeks ago and seemed pretty excited for it.

I'd welcome anyone back to BW, some more than others of course. Right now the foreigner scene is really chill and all friendly. Some grudge matches or good vs evil would spice things up. BW needs a villain: maybe Idra can come back and fill that spot? It would make it easier to create hype and then in turn make something like a next TSL finally happen again. ^^
