Don't really understand the attitude, unless you're just annoyed BW:R was released earlier than it should have been...which I'd be inclined to agree.
That said, that doesn't hurt anybody IF, and it is an important if, they continue to work on everything to ensure a bug free game. Overall the dev team has show consistent signs of doing so, and I'm not deeply worried. Most stuff in SC: R works great.

This is nothing more than paying for a beta, at best. You can't view profiles of others. You often get errors in game that disconnect you. Match making often doesn't work. You can try 20x times in a row, re-log, etc, and get "match making failed/error," every time.
Oh, you actually got to play a game? Well, congrats your loss is counted 2x. Not only did you have to insta leave due to excessive lag, but 2x loss of points to make you feel better.
100% of the time you use some commands, you get no text to notify you it worked. DND for instance. Messaging someone. One sec you can, next you can't.
There are too many issues to list. Where would we be without beta... I was going to say at least the searching for people on ladder works, but even that brings up the error screen, a lot. Works better than anything else does, by far, though.
This feels like what playing in 1990 must have felt like. I never would have guessed that after all these years, after WGT, things would be this much worse. Reached the pinnacle while everyone still had dial up. Amazing.

I dunno man, seems like you're just very unlucky. I certainly don't have a problem with many of the issues you listed. Viewing profiles of others works beautifully.
Matchmaking is new content regardless, so anything in that department cannot be a detriment. Even if matchmaking didn't work, you still have the standard functionality of old starcraft (making games in a lobby, as has always been done) working better than ever before with extra latency options and no need to forward ports. With all that in mind, matchmaking for me has been decent. I haven't had terrible issues queuing and waiting, or errors.
In addition to that you're getting the cleaned up graphics, which at least in my book is a pretty decent upgrade.
Haven't had issues messaging people, but if that isn't working properly for you, then yes that would be a form of a downgrade.
If you want to think of this as paying for a beta, go for it, with the caveat that it's paying for a beta that also covers payment for the full game when it's released (or in the case of BW: R, when the bugs/technical issues are resolved.). I don't see that as a problem. If I had to pay for the beta, then pay again for the full game....that would be a very different issue altogether.

I have played like 50 games and didn't even have to change the latency to high once. No lag, no disconnects. Ranking being bugged is annoying sure, but I'm just super happy being able to hit a button to get a game. Besides the two times when matchmaking was down for everyone, I have had no issues whatsoever.
I don't want to act like there aren't issues, as there are, but I think Lorch's experience describes a significant number of users: i.e. dealing with a few bugs here and there, but overall enjoying nicer graphics, much easier time finding games at close skill level, and a much more active community.
For those in situations similar to Playa's...yea it sucks. No doubt. I can fully understand being pissed off about that.
I just don't really understand the super pessimistic attitude. BW: R dev team has been ripping away at these issues since initial 1.18, and by all accounts has been doing an excellent job resolving them. There doesn't seem to be a reason to think these issues will remain, so what I don't understand is the pessimism. You're language makes it sound like you don't expect any improvements and expect to be in a fucked situation endlessly. I can't see a clear reason for feeling that way.
