Hi!
For many years now i have open ports.... MY router 6112 ports are opened so i would like to ask you how come im getting this stupid information? "Connection is routing via proxy server"
Can i do something to fix it? Should i close my ports? I completely dont understand why this stupid information shows even when im watching my own replays alone...
i dont want to have lag vs other ppl only because Blizzard F* up...
Do someone have same or similar problem or do you know how to fix it?
From the bottom of my heart thanks for your help ^^

Try opening 6112 through 6119, it means that despite you opening your ports it is still routing the connection to a proxy server, no you shouldn't close your ports, and Blizzard actually did well hosting games via a proxy server, something they should have done years ago...

I dont think that it works...

For starters calm down, and make sure your ports are opened. They need to be opened in both the router, and any firewall program that you have on your computer.
You can test it by downloading 1.16.1 from iccup website (100mb), and hosting a game and seeing if people can join.

I am calm... I always could make games even 3 days ago my friend joined my game and im always seeing this information... I added new rules to my firewall and router and nothing happens.. If anything changed then its because Blizzard did something from their side...
I will try some more things....

Same happened to me; I'd definitely had my 6112-6119 forwarded but after the patch I got the red text notification. However, I fixed it by just going into my router and deleting the settings and the reforwarding the ports. Sounds like you already tried that, and I don't know what else you should do.

Is the "Connection is routing via proxy server" message view-able to the host within a game lobby? I wanna check my connection but i'm not sure how to.

Me too despite I could host games on iCCup for years. Everything Blizz does is further and further ruining this game.
|
Outscar you are hilarious. They added a feature which allows donut heads like yourselves to host games without having your ports properly forwarded and you claim they are RUINING THE GAME? Give your fucking head a check! This feature is added with the intent of being purely beneficial and this is your response??
If you can truly host on iccup and are 100% positive you have the ports forwarded properly then take the 5 seconds it takes to head over to blizz forums and make a post in the bug report section!
If you want to test it on ICCup, i am awake right now and willing to go online with you. Shoot me a PM.

I can host games on Iccup, but I get the "Connection is routing via proxy server" message in battle net. So either this feature by Blizzard is bugged, or hosting games on iccup isn't truly a good method for checking if ports are open.

It should be, what I am thinking is maybe some of you are using the "upnp" feature that is part of MCA launcher? The idea of it is that it allows you to host without having the ports properly opened but I was always under the impression it didn't actually work.
Another possibility is that windows firewall or some other firewall is specifically blocking the remastered/1.19 version of starcraft, and not the 1.16 version.
Or maybe blizzard made an error in the new game, not impossible but it seems unlikely since it is working as intended for myself and the few others I have talked to about it on battle.net. If that is indeed the case then the people it is affecting need to submit bug reports to blizz so they can become aware and fix it asap.

Doesn’t this message merely mean that at least one of the players doesn’t have ports opened properly?
|
I believe it's only for host, correct me if I'm wrong on that one.

If you are hosting then there is a red message in the text chat, where it says that your connection is routed through a proxy server and hence it may end in latency difficulties. So no, if you host and get that message your ports are closed.
I, myself, thought I have my ports opened for the longest time til the patch, where I also suprisingly got the message that my connection is routing through a proxy server. So I accessed my router settings and saw that there was no forwarding rule for 6112-6119. It seemed like my router was resetted sometime.
@ OP: Did you check your LAN internal IP? Might be the problem. Mine was 192.168.0.66 for my PC... Never would I ever thought it is 66 at the end. You can check it (on windows OS) by searching for "cmd" (just press enter as soon as you type it into cortana) -> type in "ipconfig /all" then search for "IPv4 adress" and there should be an IP with something like 192.168.0.X. On most routers your PC is 2 (while the router is 1), but you need to check back to properly forward your ports in your router. Might be your solution.
After I opened up my ports again, the red message disappeared when I hosted a game. So definitly helped a lot opening the ports.

Yes I have this option checked, it is enabled by default, maybe I can host only because of that. But I recall some of my friends using mca launcher too and they couldn't host games, so I am very confused now.
@Edit: I entered iccup using Iccup launcher instead of Mcalauncher, and I could host games as well. So I can host games regardless of UPnP function of mca launcher, but I still get this red message on battle net.
@Edit2: I forwarded ports on my router now and I don't get this message anymore. However I could somehow host games on Iccup before without any problems and without forwarding ports at all. So it looks like hosting games on iccup isn't a proper method to test your ports.

Hmm interesting, I don't know why that would be. Glad you got it figured out though.

Ah that would make sense then. It would potentially explain why op and outscar can host iccup but not remastered/1.20 as well.

So firstly thanks for your "brainstorm" mates It helped me think... So i forwarded everything yet again and it seems i had to do some shenanigans but it seems i no longer have this Godawful red txt when i make replay to watch for myself. I still get it when i want to join melee games with ppl who have this routing box near the game name (i still didnt buy Remaster and im playing on Korean server)...
Is it still me or its now theirs fault? ^^
I want to add that with my old setting i didnt get this red txt when i entered games where there was no routing box added to the game name... With the old setting i was seeing red txt when i was making the game myself... Seriously strange thing...
