One of the few real things that we can do to strengthen our relationship with the Korean community is to watch the official English stream. The more that we view the official English stream, the more our numbers are counted. When that happens, AfreecaTV is more likely to help us get interview access to players like Flash, Stork, Jaedong and the like. They are also more likely to help us get goodies like ASL jackets (link) and items signed by players to give away.
Furthermore, the ASL is currently without a proper external sponsor. Every single viewer counts when it comes to making future ASLs happen. They need our help.
In light of that I want to take some time to provide instructions on how to view the ASL on your phone/tablet. In my opinion, it is a nice way to watch the ASL (and also other pro gamer streams) for several reasons.
1) For whatever reason, there seems to be less buffering when viewing streams on the AfreecaTV mobile app than there is on a web browser.
2) When there are stability issues with the stream, you will want to change the stream quality. The mobile app seems to be more responsive (at least for me) when attempting to change the stream quality.
Given how good smartphones are these days, perhaps it is not surprising. I put together this little guide to share basic information about the mobile app.
You can find it in both the Apple and Google app stores by searching for "afreecatv". Here are multiple instructions on viewing the ASL English stream once you have install the app.
