I am sorry for this post - I shouldn't laugh, but sometimes Flash produces some wonderfully random photos. These were all taken at Proleague (OGN) tonight.
Disclaimer: I use editing/photo shop because I have to - my camera is probably the cheapest one used by any of the esports journalists because they don't have to pay for theirs out of their own pockets. I'm not a photo shop expert and I don't have the thousands of dollars needed to buy a top of the range DSLR so I do my best with the kit I have. I'm open to con-crit - I welcome it in fact and I enjoy hearing suggestions for future photos or other ideas, but please don't bitch at me for air brushing/editing the photos. I want to improve, but it's a learning process not an over night fix.

There's a lot of noise if I don't edit them so sorry if you don't like it, but until I upgrade my camera there's nothing much I can do. I'm not releasing the raw photos because they're ugly -_-;;;; I'm doing my best here.

Exactly what I was thinking! I only looked at the TossGirl ones really. But the makeup, lighting, or whatever, really makes her look like mannequin or something.

She was wearing a tonne of make up - when I edited the raws I noticed her neck was way darker than her face.
Kal... I dunno, at first I thought he didn't have the face of a zerg killer. But now, whenever I watch him play games, there's just something about his face and overall demeanor that screams serial killer to me.
Toss girl looks cute, can't understand anyone ragging on her. Even if she isn't your style or whatever she is thin with no obvious flaws. If you're going to rag on her looks you should be required to post a picture of yourself.
Love Julys hairdo, like the missing chubby asian Beatle member, or something.

I believe she uses a D40X and 70-200lens, its impossible to take good pics with that lens under the lighting conditions at these events, which is why she has to airbrush the pics. TL should donate a better lens to her maybe the 85mm F1.4 ^_^
edit: sorry my bad, the D40x wont work with that lens and actually her lens is an F2.8 (i was thinking 5.6 in my mind) So anyway, TL should donate a better body to her^^
Yeah, if there were several other progamers that were the same size as July it would have been hard to recognize him. Also there is a massive incongruity between the color of his face and the color of his hands...
What I want is a picture of Kal standing next to Backho, don't know how that would happen. But isn't Kal like two feet taller than him lol.
Don't worry about having to post-process your photos...as long as it's just simple color correction, and not like you're changing the actual composition, there's nothing wrong with it. Even people who use the top-of-the-line camera bodies have to touch up the photos SOMEWHAT. It's just impossible to have the camera's on-board color priority settings set up for EVERY possible lighting situation, after all.
Anyone who says otherwise is an elitist dumbass, and a liar. Shit, even in the days of film, people did this kind of color correction in the darkroom.

My suggestion is that you should practice photoshop skills on Iris[gm] :-)
As for Kal's picture - after his game he probably took a pre-acematch nap. CJ -_- faces could learn from him.
thx nevergg for thread. I don't zoom 10x so pictures are fine technically.

Yeah, last OSL there was a game where he removed them after the match and they kept the camera on him for a while, and he actually looked pretty good. He doesn't look bad when he's got his glasses off and isn't doing that whole Renée Zellweger scrunchmouth thing.
oh, and I can't forget the required 'nohomo' tag. So... nohomo.
Thanks for the pics nevergg!
edit: and jesus, July needs to stop celebrating his golden mouse by eating an entire cake every day.

I wish - I've been studying the cameras the other esports journalists are using and it seems at my old price bracket Canon struggles as well (EOS 30D used by one person needs flash for post-game photos etc.) However, I'm hoping to upgrade to an EOS 5D MK2 (with a 70-200mm and fisheye when I can afford it.) which hopefully should be able to cope nicely (it's one step up from the camera one of my favourite esports press uses currently.)
Tossgirl looks like... quite frankly, a prostitute rough *IN THESE PICTURES*, not always. I'm ban me *hides* Just commenting on how bad these pictures are.

ok lets see... 5dmk2 megapixels is irrelevant.... but the video mode is tempting.. still not reason enough to be a traitor and jump ship, the D700 beats it in everything else, esp high iso. Search ur soul! u know u r a Nikonian for life!
Great pics Nevergg. Is it possible to show a before + after of one of these pictures so we can see the difference? More than anything I'm just curious to see what it looks like.

5D mk2? Damn...you're gonna have a fucking baller camera body...
I think in that price range a 1D would be better (the speedy version...I always get them confused). The sensor size difference might actually help since you get a bit of extra zoom, though I don't know about differences in performance concerning lighting situations. You should be careful, though...you might get vignetting with the fisheye lens as well...:X
If the edited pictures weren't good enough, the endless stream of people who lack reading capabilities saying things like "omg wtf skin plastic mannequin roflbbq" and shit seals the deal in terms of hilarity.
