1.26.2 Translation update, now has items
You need to make your own save folder or the game crashes when you try to save.
Thank Yous: KaiKnight: For making the game GTR: For introducing the game to TL emucxg for being the first to mention Ultraedit Whoever translated the version before I started. (Post for credit) Everyone who played the game/posted (that is what makes the job worth it)
About the game: + Show Spoiler +On November 22 2008 09:12 GTR wrote:Basically from what I can gather, the developer of this game, Kai, wanted to do something similar to the Football Manager games, yet keep it in an e-Sports setting. This is something that the TL community kind of wanted to do. So basically after you extract the zip, run the executable. You will be greeted a screen like this. New Season -> Start a new career with a new team Tournament Mode -> Go right into a single bracket tournament with randomly generated maps. Load Data -> Self explanatory. Alright, lets pick a team, for this example I will use CJ Entus. You will now see a player list, for the tutorial, I will view sAviOr (마재윤) If you go into a new season, you will be greeted with this screen of the map pool for the season. The map pool changes at the end of every season for both the PL and SL. For the first season, you will always use those maps. Click next to go onto the next screen. Every season you will have the opportunity to spend your earned money on trading and buying new players. You can also fire your own players if you need quick cash. Most of it is easy to do and doesn't require much translation. This screen is the screen you will be mostly be seeing during your game time. This is your calendar. The bottom left button takes you to the item shop, while the bottom right goes to your players overview. The green line means that that is the date where your players condition heals (I think). Anyway, I will stop translating for now. infinity21 is going to help me with the rest, and the stuff I am stuck on. Hope you guys enjoy the game. P.S Check out my beastly team. + Show Spoiler + The original thread: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=82691

Latest Version 1.26.02
FAQ: + Show Spoiler + What can you edit and how do you edit it?
The only thing I can change is string literals, which basically means any text in the game, but not the way the game uses the text, so no stat editing. I use a hex editor called Ultraedit. Most of the job is so easy a trained monkey could do it.
How do I (Trade, Hire, Fire) players):
All changes to your team must be done on the screen that comes after the map pool. (It is labeled Player Draft)
To Hire players: Select NoTeam and then hire a player.
To Trade players: Select any team that isn't yours and select two players (one yours one theirs) and click the trade button on top.
To Fire: Select your team on the right click a player and then click the fire button.
What stats are good for what maps?
Sense - independent from map stat
Control - more of an impact in maps with short rush distance
Attack - Mix of low rush distance and high minerals
Harass - Higher rush distance and Higher complexity
Strategy - Higher complexity
Macro - Higher minerals
Defense - Not sure but it might be like sense but possibly affected by complexity
Scouting - independent from map
What do items do?
Note These 3 and Vita Vita need to be applied before each game, no way around it. Everything else is used automatically. Gum: You players lose less stat points when they lose a game Sniping: You designate a player and if the opposing team plays them against the player, your chance of winning increases. I don't know if your win rate decreases if you are wrong. Ceremony: If the player wins team condition improves For everything else 1.2.9 Blue has the items translated
Why is _______ ID different?
Because the community should switch to new IDs that the pros use consistently faster, especially when they stick with that ID. Or I messed up, although it is likely the former.
Does informal practice do anything?
No, the only things that affect stats are items and games in proleague/Star League. I am not sure about qualifiers, but pretty sure they don't do anything.
Can I transfer saves from one version to another?
Different translations of the same version (the 1.2X number) are totally compatible, except that names of players don't update, but since I get every player (except a few free agents) in the first translation you shouldn't need to worry about that.
Why is my question not here?
Because I didn’t think of it ask it and I will probably add it.
Feedback: Old feed back spoilered for post size [spoiler]I can also swap out the pictures and names of some players that aren't real (2 toss 1 terran 1 zerg) for foreigners. I want to know if this is a good idea.
Poll: Switch out the imaginary players? (Vote): Yes (Vote): No
Since the majority seems to favor this idea I need nominations for who to add. ( Smokin_Squirrel has a valid objection, but that doesn't apply to a toss and the terran) So right now I need suggestions on a Terran and Protoss to add. If you want to look at the stats they are the ones that don't have the names translated yet, keep resetting until you get them. [spoiler]+ Show Spoiler ++ Show Spoiler +

Awesome, thanks
haha i never played before this new thread, this is pretty fun - I wish I could read more what actually happens during the games

is this any different than the version posted in the other thread? Do you mean 1.22 or the other translation of 1.22.1, because 1.22.1 has new proleague maps, but I already posted the initial translation of that. This only has a bunch of text translated or marked as useless (no one read that stuff anyway I have proof) that the initial version didn't.

Ah wait, so this is the newest verison???
And I noticed you found destination but as far as I remember, the old verison had destination maps on the game so I'm not exactly sure what you were getting at here by finding destination...
But in any case, this thread is win!!! ^_^

But in any case, this thread is win!!! ^_^ I translated it. I needed to find it in a huge f****n file. You try finding a random 11 character string in a chunk of code that is nearly 10000 lines long, and not gloat about it. Basically I got rid of the last Korean names for the maps (although I had to squeeze some names in so you need to know what they are to read them).

Ahh ok, interesting, so you were able to somewhat somehow skillfully uncoded and unlock the codes for you to finally be able to edit it to your own liking.....
In that case, can you edit players stats on the team??? Basically I tried keep playing Ace on the last verison trying to hopefully get #1 in PL and SL and after about 50 tries, I just gave up, IT'S JUST TOO FREAKING HARD!!!!!!! The closest I got was..... 2nd place in both PL and SL.... stupid luxury ruining anytime's moment...
But yea, on this new verison, ACE has even less players than before with the exact same stats as last verison meaning they'll fail even more now and being #1 in PL and SL just became impossible^9000!
|
WOW. Thank you so much. I really have to set aside some time to get this rolling.

2) I suck at this game, but other people don't and are quite capable of getting first with ACE, hopefully one of them will post a strategy guide I can add to the first post. My only advice is remember to spend your points (not your money, the stuff you get when you pass the green line each week)
|
Hmm... hopefully someone might tell me and prove me wrong otherwise that there is such a way to be #1 in PL and SL IN SEASON 1 by being ACE but I'm just not seeing it.... but yea, I did spend EVERYTHING on it, I even buff up Anytime to the extreme that one time giving him the best of gears for all when he was doing that final... oh well...
And yea, I read the answer to my question... darn...

So far in 6 seasons Flash has won every StarLeague with Luxury losing to him in S3. And I've won one ProLeague.
|
I was in first place then luxury went on a 12 game losing streak and I finished in 10th. lol.

New update, which is just the entire item shop, battle royal and the buttons (took me forever to find those).

Do you know what the specific player stats do in relation to map stats? Like macro is good for high $ maps, control/attack for low rush distance, high sense for high difficulty?

I downloaded it and played the entire day, forgot to thank you for it.. well almost! Thanks, more updates will be awesome.
Voted too.

Some of the pictures are assigned to the wrong player in the most recent version I downloaded. Btw they should make anothe stat called 815ness to determine how good you do on Blue Storm haha.
|
This is great! Thank you very much mate!
|
I am for the foreigners to replace imaginary players (and maybe perhaps the retired, old gamers that people sort of new to the BW scene wouldn't know) but I remember you saying something about not being able to edit stats. Wouldn't that mean a foreigner you use like for example, White-Ra is a whole lot stronger than some of the korean pros since those imaginary players have pretty decent stats?
I would think it'd be better to replace the retired gamers with foreigners as then the stats sort of do make sense.

Although I know some are wrong, it has happened every time, no matter how careful I am, I think there might be mistakes in the TLPD.

i had my S2 BoxeR with an 80% win-rate beat a 70% win-rate stork on Bonjoviel (?) which has a 65 P > T 35 imba but high strategy. same season my 65% win-rate Bisu beat Flash which had won the SL. Flash had slightly lower strategy than BoxeR but obviously better in mechanics and sense in general but Bisu had a considerably higher strategy stat than Stork so therefore Flash got rolled.
Edit: rainbow went 3-0 against players better than him (none vs s-class) in carthage (added to support my reasons on harass)

actually this took me some time to figure out due to reading fail... on the trade screen, you have to select your own team on the right side (as opposed to other teams or "no team"). then you can fire guys

So i got bored pretty easy after having a great time with game and translation itself. I decide to make it more fun for me so I converted pro teams to foreign clans and pros to foreigners. Here are some screenshots. I didnt have time to change players pictures so feel free to edit them if u have time.
I would like to thank kaiknight for making the game and wswordsmen for his translation so it was easy to replace. Download links (someone please reupload somewhere better if possible) + Show Spoiler +
P.S. I also added some players to some clans to fill out holes and make it look more balanced ( NonY ---> rSgaming)

ok, im trying to customize the game a bit with ultraedit. problem: the name isn't shown fully under player portraits. i'm pretty sure that this is because the game is set to display only a set amount of letters, and i've typed above that. not a huge problem, but looks ugly on names shortened to 2 letters.
in short, where can i change the number of letters displayed?

so you'll switch Azang with Idra? then i'll really wish you could edit stats to put Idra on the same level as ToSsGirL. oh well. i suppose the original creator doesnt have an updated version then?

I think it'd be a good idea only if the stats were close to realistic levels. Other than that, you should just mark them [rtd] as retired so people can just fire them or w/e.

Oh cool. Did they make violet and effort good?
|
Violet got a 50 point boost to both macro and attack (so no). edit: and scouting missed that
Effort the short answer is yes (although he was average/above average before so that isn't a huge difference). He got a 50 point boost to Defense, Scout, Sense, Control, Attack and Strategy, 100 to Harassment, and 150 to Macro. He is 550 points stronger than before.
|
Oh cool. So who's the best player of each race and overall?
|
I think you might have misunderstood me, the screen lets you see the record of every players wins and loses that season. It isn't an absolute ranking system based off stats.

Oh ok cool I'm definitely downloading this and starting anew with KT Finger Boom!
|
wow this is so great.

This is pretty difficult but so addicting. I've been through 4 seasons with CJ and have gotten 2nd place in the proleague 3 times in a row . We do so well during the season then choke in the finals for whatever reason. Awesome though, thanks for this!

It's not really that hard to improve a player who is slightly above average, but average or below is really hard. Boxer is easy to get up, and the extra stat changes to Violet actually make him really easy to get up as well, while before it was really hard. You just have to play them on good maps for them. All the female players are impossible to make good, basically - you can have infinite money and equip them with the nicest gear and get the potions tons of times, it still won't really work. if they get that low and you train them, the player gains 900+ points in most of their attributes. It's pretty crazy.

I am uploaded a version with most of the menus and some of the titles translated.
Couldn't find the text for army, and it really bugs me though.

Playing ACE again. Oddly enough, my GoRush sucks in PL (0-4) but beat Anytime to get to the semis. In other news, Woongjin is destroying PL, mainly because of free/GuemChi.
edit: Season 1 ends with... fOrGG beating Jaedong for the SL crown, and me beating Woongjin 4-0, with a little help from DarkElf.
Is it possible to transfer save files between the 1.23.01 Initial Release version and the Army version?

The only changes that matter should be if I changed a players name, so Doggi might have 2 question marks after his name, but then again I might have fixed that after I uploaded the new version.
Short Answer: No
I will add this to the FAQ

I love this game so much. Starting my 5th season now, with 4 proleague wins and 2 starleague wins under my belt. Oddly enough, despite how much they buffed Effort, he lost most of the games he played for me. Where Kwanro was just an absolute beast, wrecking things. He's second on the overall wins chart, with something like 80% rate. Only person over him is Never, with 81%. This was at the start of the 4th season, so after I go through the trading period, I'll check and edit in the current numbers.
Second (or third) season, sitting on a fat wad of cash, I sadly traded Effort for Bisu (cost me like $700 with it). I try to rotate players in, and not players who have a MSL game coming up. It seems to work most of the time, and I haven't not been seeded into the grand finals yet. The ideal line up of Iris, Kwanro, Bisu and Skyhigh is just too much of a power force.
Shot of the Grand Finals I just played. Highlighting Savior's snipe of Never. Just look at the stat difference.
Current player rankings.

Select your team from the drop down menu, then click on the player you want to fire on the right hand side. You should see the Fire button. It's usually not worth it though, tbh. Unless your team is full, you don't get much money for any player you'd likely want to fire. Even my best player only yields something like $200. Where the terrible players are 5-40.

I uploaded what will probably be the last version till a new version comes out. It is 1.23.01 Item Shop
Most all of the non potion items are translated. As are all but a few things of text.

I decided to start playing again, and then I realized something is wrong when you have a lineup of Jaedong, Bisu, Flash and Fantasy, and lose half of your games.
|
You can't handle so many good players, clearly.
|
this game annoyed me
i have those 2 fake chars that have awesome stats and sea who was 3rd place and won starleuge twice
and then theirs effort and kwanro but still i get owned every game :/ wtf

KTFlash going strong over here

A new version is up for those who are interested. It also turns out that there was a win/loss streak tracker I didn't realize was there. (Not new to this version though it is just I realized what it was)

managed a perfect season with CJ after going 21-1 the previous season. Then they pulled a Patriots in the proleague finals
(bump for anyone who hasn't seen this. really fun game)

1.24.01 is out for a while. Is anyone translating it yet?

nothing much updated, just kt rolster, new pictures and the ability to load your own teams into the winners league bracket tournament thingy

It would be nice if the stats, items, and menu are translated.

But seriously, hyuk people, THE HYUK!!!! WHERE IS HIS STATS BOOST??!?!

i was sad too when i saw nothing changed.

So.... is anyone translating the new version?? I so want to play the new version....

I was translating the new version days ago but between the SCforAll (no I did not download the update, I was just stupid enough to read the ret interview) virus and how small the changes I gave up on it.
|

There are actually considerably more changes than the ones people have spoke of. The point system has been revamped, resting is now 50, training 100 and fan meeting 200. There's an additional item in the utility category, that appears to have no price but instead something to do with points. Resting now costs condition.
|
resting costs condition?...... isn't resting how you gain condition?
|
On October 19 2009 09:19 naonao wrote: resting costs condition?...... isn't resting how you gain condition? Resting costs 50 points, 10 less than they used to. The only new conditions cost is that fan meetings cost 200 points and now cost condition.

OK cool. Any idea what the bottom item in the first category does?
|
Thanks, wswordsmen. The new version is very interesting. We can see the level of each player in the octagon. The level is from F to SSS, but at the beginning, only Jaedong and Bisu are A+. I took a season to upgrade Bisu to SS.

http://cafe.naver.com/ArticleRead.nhn?clubid=14591243&menuid=9&boardtype=L&page=1&articleid=182767 Here is an experiment. Let Jaedong repeatedly played against Hwasin、Kal、Luxury, because these three players are at B+ level. We found that: Colosseum2 - ZvsT : 60% ZvsP : 70% ZvsZ : 50% ----------------------> average 60% 네오Medusa - ZvsT : 60% ZvsP : 60% ZvsZ : 70% ----------------------> average 73% Andromeda - ZvsT : 40% ZvsP : 90% ZvsZ : 50% ----------------------> average 60% Destination - ZvsT : 80% ZvsP : 80% ZvsZ : 70% ----------------------> average 77% Outsider SE - ZvsT : 80% ZvsP : 90% ZvsZ : 50% ----------------------> average 73% 왕의 귀한 - ZvsT : 60% ZvsP : 70% ZvsZ : 60% ----------------------> average 63% Heartbreak Ridge - ZvsT : 70% ZvsP : 50% ZvsZ : 60% ----------------------> average 60%
So, Destination is best for Jaedong, followed by Medusa and Outside.

A question... are the rush distance and complexity reversed now? It used to be that rush distance was the top, complexity the bottom, but the new translation has that reversed.
|
What does the new item do? The one at the bottom of the first bullet in the item shop.
|
Wow this version is nice. So i started with KT and got to the finals and lost vs SKT1. Flash won the SL. Point is, i released Flash for fun at the end to see what happens (after i saved it) and when i started the next season i saw that ACE picked him up.
|

I discovered it by trying to get rid of go.go because I dislike his visage so much. Unfortunately, ACE picked him up and I was sad. After this I was debating making a stacked version of ACE, by hiring like Bisu/JD/Calm etc. and firing them, just to make a legitimate competition to my team in around the 15th or so season when I typically start floating a few k cash and only dropping 2 or 3 games a season.

Ah ok, never done it before. Thats pretty cool though, so players you find useless but are better than ACE players wont go to waste

Edit :
I think I figured it out. It adds +50 to all stats for that single game - really useful for ranking up low players or winning PL finals when you have 2 SS players and 10 f ones.

hmm really thats strange my theory was that macro helps on high money maps, control on low money maps attack helps on low distance maps, defense on high distance maps harass/strat helps on high difficulty maps, scout on low difficulty maps and no idea what the hell sense does which would mean jaedong would be good on a low money, low distance, high difficulty map like rotk, raid assault, othello, byzantium (the last 2 suck zvt though) by this medusa and destination shouldn't be great maps for jaedong, and outsider would be okay (except its a zerg favored map anyway)
i also thought zvz looked mostly at the micro stat, but i dont think thats true anymore since killer on my save is only 56% zvz
|
My experience : Most of the attributes are really useful all the time if you get them high enough or a certain combinations. (IE, Best is great but Tempest is terrible due to his low attack). Macro, Attack and Control are the prime things.
Attack is most useful on high money maps, but is useful on all maps. If a map has really high rush distance but low minerals, then attack isn't useful. Macro same thing.
Defense is better on lower money maps, but is a sort of all around stat. A player with really high defense generally does really well on any map besides one that doesn't favor their race or if they have low harass.
Control is for low rush distance, but also for if they get like 4 pooled. All-in all, I would say this is the most important stat although a player with high defense can get away with low control (like flash or fantasy).
Harass matters most on long rush distance, but doesn't seem to always matter. (I think this is why some zerg players are great on Blue Storm despite it being balanced).
Sense/Scouting, no clue. They probably relate inversely to the strategy/harass of the other player, but I think these stats also determine the amount of money you get from their fan meetings.
Strategy matters most on high complexity maps, but can also help in series as far as I can tell.
edit : With the two aliens you can see which ones are terrible and which are useful - the blue one is useless, the red one is about the same level as Kwanro or Luxury usually.
|
I am having computer trouble to say the least so I won't be updating for a while, here is what I got through comparison though.
The bottom item, of the first group is something +50 to all stats.
Glasses/Shades +40 scout +40 sense.

Jaedong almost always seems to slump after the first season - I think it's because his macro in the game isn't very good.

Is the intensive training actually worth it? A couple of times I compared the stat gain, and it's only like 6 points per training session. Is it better to train and spend money regaining condition, or resting, or waiting every two weeks to do fan meetings and regaining condition that way?
|
On January 07 2010 15:35 Gann1 wrote: Jaedong almost always seems to slump after the first season - I think it's because his macro in the game isn't very good. yeah, it seems some player tilt one way or the other. Like, you might have a player whos strong in micro, and ok in macro [jaedong], but as time goes on, they become better and better at micro, but bad at macro. Or vise versa. All the time ill notice players shifting and relying more on one set of skills than they did originally.

any news for the translation ???
|
This game got really boring once I got my six main players to consistent A+ ~ SS levels. Three seasons straight of having all four semi finalists being one of the six players is kinda stupid.
|
I don't recall commentary being translated when I last played it. Is it done yet, or is it impossible due to technological difficulties?
|
I think it's because it's too much work for not enough return. There's alot to go through I believe, and all of it is rather boring stuff anyways that people with half an imagination could think of by watching the bars closely.

You could replace the images folder with the same folder from an older version. You'll miss some of the newer added players but those are all e and f ranked anyway

Thanks a lot wswordsmen, this game is one of a few I play. I'm excited every time a new version comes out
One question: Sense has been moved from top to right-bottom. Where sense was before is now something in korean. Could anyone tell me what it means? And does anyone have a clue when sense or the new one on top are used?

Hey, I'm bumping this b/c I've been wanting to get into this again and going for the newest version which is cool. So basically I followed the instructions given of dling 2 things, putting your exe into the folder and then starting and saw no pictures. So then I used the previous version (1.24.02) and replace the images folder into the new one (1.25.01). It started working but some of the newest map (ie. Fighting Spirit, etc) and few pictures are still missing.... The 1.25.01 original images folder just didn't work and replacing another version doesn't given the entire thing... so can you just convert the newest one into one dl folder that's already adjusted?
Secondly, I was wondering if you can also translate the items and what they do as well as what stats and basic text like abilities, ranking, etc etc. I hope this isn't too much to ask (it probably is) but take your time!!! Thanks!!!!
*Edit* In exchange, I'll give you a SCII beta key if it satisfies me! Thanks! ^_^

I appreciate the offer but the only computer I have reliable access to doesn't meet the the beta's minimum requirements (pathetic I know). So I have no use for a beta key. Also typing on said computer is really annoying otherwise I would have already done the rest of the text.
Thanks again for the offer.

How do you keep them good for so long? I found that there was a constant pattern where I get someone to SS or so and they stay there for a few seasons and they just start losing way too much. It's happened with several people so idk...

Oh nice! New version!!! Do you think we can have a translated version up soon?? Also preferably if the images can be seen and all since I dled the Korean one and it still wouldn't let me see pictures.... thanks!!!
Also for anyone else, what's the changes on this one?

As much as I hate to make a second post on top off my post above, I really want to bump this so that I request for a translated version for the newest version soon, as well as a possible fix of pictures since I tried the korean language thing and still didn't work.... so I apologize for double post but this got buried into the broodwar forum deep enough for me to bump!

can anyone tell me what the item with the word CEREMONY written all over it does? as well as the green thing that you seem to get automatically. thanks in advance.
|
WTF how did I miss this I will start translating the "new" version tomorrow.
Ceremony, I never use them, but from what the translations say (confession I don't speak (or read) a word of korean) you use it on a player, select an opposing player, and if your player beats that opposing player your team gets a boost. You don't actually choose your opponent though, you have to predict what the computer will send out.
Not sure what green thing is (haven't played for a while), but if it has some hangul (might appear to be random characters if you don't have your language set to korean) and a +3 it increases the players condition by 3% when used before a match.

EDIT - Oh, and the green thing i'm talking about is some card looking thing that can't be bought but just accumulates over time, i guess. Cause now I have like 27 of them in my 4th season. And I don't know how I got it. Thanks again!
P.S. This is the item in question + Show Spoiler +
My main players after 17 seasons: + Show Spoiler +Flash Jaedong Really Violet Stork Yes. Time flies when I play this game.

Don't know about that thing. There is a new "green thing" in 1.26.2 that increase a players condition to more than 100%. They activate automatically, and I have no idea how to get them.
BTW a new versions up, haven't started the item shop, but I got almost everything else though (didn't translate the army symbol though)
|
I don't speak Korean but I noticed the cheerful has the same text as the rainbow potion. If that's correct then it adds +50 to all stats for one game. Overall I've found them to be more useful than the sniper item when I'm trying to build up C rank players. As for acquiring them, you seem to get one each time one of your players wins in the starleague.

Same problem arises with this new version as well as the previous ver of 1.25.1. I can't see any pictures nor images at all! It's completely dark and blank, I can play the game and all but if I can't see any images, how can I play the game? The version 1.24.1 and older ones can show me pictures/images but not this one.... I mean is it because I'm on windows 7? It's sorta annoying to see that happen... -________-

Have you tried putting the executable for ver 1.26 in the 1.24 folder? That's what I do to fix the image issue. I do agree though that playing w/o pics is kinda hard.

I just tried what wswordsmen said. The control panel > Region and Language > Last tab switch the language of non-unicode programs to Korean. Im on windows 7 as well and what do you know, it works perfectly! All images working for 1.26! Try it!
NOTE - when you change the language to Korean, you will have to download the file again!

I just realized I left a joke I put in for testing (because I find it mildly funny) in the released version. No one has commented on the One Ring I have put in the however many past item translations. A map name is much more noticeable, so I am surprised at the lack of comments.

what do the 3 checkboxes during games do (says 1, 4 and 8)
and am I meant to be able to choose the other teams ace player? ;x

lol. Is it the "BeBeep" for Roadrunner? I remembered I read that on the original map description, I thought that was really it's name so I completely forgot about it. lol

I am surprised you didn't notice it on your own. Maybe you don't need to remember the map name, as much as have a name associated with it. That would be a nice experiment to try.
Anyway I am more or less finishing up the item shop translations (although there are a few phrases I can't do if you try and purchase the wrong item) new version should be up in not too long. Also still didn't find the army either, that is really annoying.
New version is up, I will be uploading a new new version as a .rar for Quickstriker. If that doesn't help I am not sure what to do.

and am I meant to be able to choose the other teams ace player? ;x They control the speed of the game (they have no effect on the game, just do you want to spend time watching the game or not), and you don't choose the opponents player for an ace game, you get to look at the other team to analyze who they are likely to send out, and compare their players to your players. If you are using a sniper, then that just determines who do you gain an advantage against.

Woah. Thanks for translating the items. I finally know what each item does exactly! Time to have another marathon! Cheers!
|
I really like the new feature where sometimes a player gets a massive condition boost for a game - adds another thing to consider when selecting lineups and gives you incentive to use more players than just 4 or 5
thanks again for translating, wswordsmen
|
This may be silly but does the rush distance component of the map indicate whether its favorable to rush or how far that distance is. I.e. does longer bar mean shorter rush distances or longer ones.

thanks again for translating, wswordsmen Thank you for enjoying it, I know this sounds corny but people's gratitude is the reason I have been doing this for so long. Although this time their was a little bit extra in it.

Oh wow, a fully translated version! Thanks wswordsmen for your time and effort to translate! I dled it and it didn't work under non-unicode in English but when I changed it to Korean, it works like everyone else said.. and it took me a while to figure out what that meant too since I converted the entire language of the computer to Korean... anyway, it's all good, once you dled it in non-unicode in Korean, you can change back to English and you can still play it!
But yea, this looks good, thanks! (Time for a PM ^_^)

eg.. translate the words when they fighting ! Look in the OP's faq. Also there are multiple reasons I don't translate the live reporting, some are technical limitations, others aren't. It isn't impossible to do translate the live reporting, it is only nearly impossible. And even then you would be looking at sentences w/o or very few vowels and only enough letters for you to get the gist of the sentence.

so can i make my own game?
like different picture and difference language ...
since i cant change the stat anyway
|
How did you get their condition to be above 100%?
|
yeh how u got condition over 100? i got it too but dunno how ...
|
I don't really know how. There are just times where (I think) at most 2 players have boosted conditioning thus boosted abilities. But I do not know how this triggers.

wow I just discovered this and Im so excited! God as soon as I start this Im going to be sorry for my sleep time :D
I saw around here somewhere that to see every image you have to change something (unicode) to Korean. Im sorry if this is a noob question but does that change anything else? Is it something I could switch and keep it like that no problem or its something I have to keep changing back to keep everything normal?
But this seems so amazing that I dont even mind doing that lol. Thanks to everyone that worked in this! Going to try it now (or maybe after someone answers me lol Tks in advance).
Edit: I've DL the latest version I guess. Is there any dif between the 2 files 1.26.2 there? Playing for sometime now. So much fun! Tks a lot :D!

You don't have to change it back to keep everything normal. The only things you don't see when you change the language is the arrows. They turn into some weird characters but everything else stays the same.

Has anyone had this crash on them while they saved?
|
no but i'm eagerly awaiting a new version so i can try to topple proleague with a feeble sparkyz team
|
so how do i feed someone the vita to get their condition back up?
it says before game, i see absolutely no way to apply the items before game tho! i have barely managed to win my 4th match in first season for 4-0 but my main players are all around 85-90% only lolol...
|
when you select your team and press next, then it lists your players and that's when you feed em the vita

Not in my 25+ seasons of playing.
I desperately need a new version. Bisu kind of sucks at 1.26.=/

i also had the picture problem, maybe this doesn't let me see the drop down to feed them vita? idk...anyway i tried korean language thing but i cant do it without xp cd...i downloaded the language pack from another site and it doesnt work.
edit: i have to guess where the 'add item' thing is since there are no pictures...i got it tho ! xD

Can anybody use their items in this one? As soon as I choose my line-up, it doesn't give me the chance to apply items to my players and skips right to the next page (which is showing your line-up vs. the other team's line-up).

But take note, it can only be done after you have played at least 1 season, since most, hire, fire and trades cost money.
|
Oh man, this version is awesome. I just all-killed KT with Skyhigh in the third season And Snow won his first star league. Still not quite sure what the level thingy is about. I think lower level means faster improvement, but the way levels are given confuses me a little. And I'm afraid that later on the game becomes unplayable since you're unable to bring in youngsters (except for crappy retired players).

oh wow the winners league thing is so much fun if your team is jacked.
bisu/best/fantasy are all S class, and hyuk is A+. soo is A-/B+, and each of them have all gotten at least one all-kill.
so has canata.
i love this game. i wish i could save past season 1 XD
Did i mention how realistic this thing is? Bisu keeps getting knocked out of the group stages by random scrubs.

^ How did you make them all S class? What is the key to success? I always have one top player (Flash) but the rest can't pull through because they start slumping, hard. =\

I know, I'm playing SKT too and Fantasy is practically unbeatable in TvP and Bisu wins every PvZ but loses a lot of his PvTs
Boxer and Thezerg are now my worst players and both are C/C-. All of the other guys are B- or higher. The game does get a little easy now, but I enjoy winning

The only hard part about keeping an S class team is team kills in the SL. Thats really annoying.

Yep, i always hope for a 3:2 when my guys face each other in a final ;;
But still, the usually drop from SS to S or sometimes to A+. Teamkills suck.
|
the issue is that once your guys get super buff and all get to the Ro4 then next season they'll meet up in the Ro8 and you'll teamkill there and lose players earlier on in the SL
bisu/fantasy. historical reenactment.

The same universe where Stork has a golden mouse and zero second place finishes. It's like bizzaro world

yeah so uhh I posted in the older thread.
My question: Is the chewing gum any good? Item recommendations before games? I am guessing energy drink is the best.
|
the gum is good for raising new players - it makes them take less of a hit to their stats when they lose. Energy drink is always good. What I do is use gum if they're 98% or above, energy drink if they're 94%-96%, and don't play them if they're below that unless it's an ace match.

|
oh god i never realized how hard it is to play ACE. i'm having trouble staying in the top 4, making it into Ro32s, and maintaining B level players. this shit is hard...
|
I'm gonna try doing ACE with no trades if/when 1.27.03 is translated. I've tried ACE before and it's really difficult, because there's no one you can rely on to win ace matches in the beginning

Yeah. I tried playing it on the translated 1.26 version, and I got all the way to the PL finals only to lose 0-4. You have to be really lucky with your snipes to even get this team winning.
|
ACE isn't that hard if you manage your players right. When you're in a pinch, send out Cloud as cannon fodder. I barely made it to he playoffs the first year and lost right away if i remember right. I won 2nd and 3rd year PL, Savior lost in the Semis for SL (stupid ZvZ) in the 3rd year. The only change i did was picking up Savior even though GoRush was like B+/A- already.
End of Season 3 looks like:
Savior A+ Much A- Anytime B+ GoRush B+ Ruby B
Cloud is D+ and the rest are in between.
EDIT: it was in 1.27.02

skt is too easy, do something with either fox/estro/stars/mbc. those i actually find manageable, yet not incredibly easy like skt/khan/cj (only teams i've tried so far, apart from ACE and FOX)

On August 17 2010 06:11 stormtemplar wrote: Can someone help me? I have no Idea how to win. Can I have some strats for SKT1? How do I keep condition up? How do I improve my players?
here's what I do: if a map is for instance 55:45 TvZ and 50:50 in the other matchups, I usually send a protoss with SKT I had 4 main players (Bisu, Best, Hyuk, Fantasy) and I made all other players practice whenever they had 100 points I never use players that are below 94% in condition, except for an ace match on a bad map (and I don't even do that when they are lower than 90%) I buy gum for every player I send out so that when they lose, their skills won't drop too fast whenever I get some spare money (like 250+/300+) I buy a piece of equipment for my most important player to develop a strong ace. When he has everything he needs I buy it for my second best player
that's basically it. I'd say sending the right person on the right map is the most important aspect

I had written this on a post, implemented later to the FAQ on the first page of this thread.
What stats are good for what maps?
Sense - independent from map stat
Control - more of an impact in maps with short rush distance
Attack - Mix of low rush distance and high minerals
Harass - Higher rush distance and Higher complexity
Strategy - Higher complexity
Macro - Higher minerals
Defense - Not sure but it might be like sense but possibly affected by complexity
Scouting - independent from map

I'm adding all that info to the guide, if you don't mind. Also, I'm thinking about making a more complete guide, a more graphical resource to help everyone having questions or doubts
The structure is going to be like, introduction to the game, how to play with korean fonts, general info, guides...etc.

Your players improve by winning. Pick your players based on the map and what stats are good for what maps (posted by Mirage below). Some people like to use gum but I never bother. I get the ceremony and use that on my best player. If they win then all the players' conditions will only be reduced by 2-3% instead of 5% that game. Buy drinks to improve your players' conditions before games if you need to and make sure they are rested.
The map pool has a lot to do with how well your players will perform.

Did you research this? I always pick my player based on these stats for the maps but I'm just wondering how accurate they are. Attack based on minerals seems odd.

well Flash has won like 6 starleagues out of 8. The only two losses were during the first season vs fantasy and vs his own teammate Violet. Anyways I am now dominating the league with Flash who is SSS, ForGG who is S, Violet who is A+, Stats who is B+/A-, and Barracks who is at the B-/B range. At one point during winner's league Flash went 50-5 LOL

Attack - Mix of low rush distance and high minerals
Harass - Higher rush distance and Higher complexity
Strategy - Higher complexity
Macro - Higher minerals
Defense - Not sure but it might be like sense but possibly affected by complexity
Scouting - independent from map Did you research this? I always pick my player based on these stats for the maps but I'm just wondering how accurate they are. Attack based on minerals seems odd.
Not detailed research but if any info is off, its not far off. Attack and Defense are the hardest one to calculate, at least from my experience but its based on army size. I wrote that up quickly, everything but Attack and Defense im 99% sure its correct. Harass was a weird one but i tested it using Rainbow (former SKT) and he was better by FAR on a map like Carthage than any other map. Fantasy seems to work like this is as well, specially since high complexity favors Strategy AND Harass. Based off this, i think Fantasy should rarely lose on a map like Monty Hall (not including racial map balance). I've played the game this way pretty much the whole time and i usually win when i expect to win and lose when i expect to lose.

well the strategy i used to get tossgirl to A was to spam magic rainbows on her, equip her with m-sharp, k-sharp, large lcd, and the one ring and once i got her to B+ i started sending her out and she was pretty much destroying everyone, though you have to save up quite a bit of cash to do this. go through 2 or 3 seasons before attempting, if you do well in them, and try to save your cash ^_^
|
Hmm, that's a good idea. I've never actually thought to use magic rainbows... I traded for Tossgirl when she was C-, put the m-sharp, k-sharp, and ring on her, and just started sending her out on favorable maps with gum every time. At first she was losing a lot, moving up really slowly, but eventually she started winning a lot. Now she's SSS with stats near 1000 in every category except macro, which is only ~780. I've been sending her out on mineral-heavy maps so that her macro improves, her all-around stats are good enough to win on them even though her macro is relatively poor.

In regards of what version I'm making the guide for, I decided to make it for 1.27.03. You don't have to worry about it being in korean, I'm putting lots of useful captions .

Also, I'm thinking about making a more complete guide, a more graphical resource to help everyone having questions or doubts The structure is going to be like, introduction to the game, how to play with korean fonts, general info, guides...etc. Sure i don't mind. Yes, well I should have added that I do well basing my player picks on these stats. :D

i have to agree on the race thing. before on the translated version it seemed like swarm season, with every map favoring zerg, and the Ro32 was littered with zergs. now i find that maps generally favor terran (with the occasional exception, with Troy being especially annoying always appearing during winner's league). Ro32s have mostly terran, then toss, and a few scattered zergs.
i'm playing ace right now, and FOX has 3 A/A+ terrans and 2 SS terrans its only season 6...
|
Terrans are ridiculous, especially terrans with high macro/defense. The semifinals of my last starleague were all terran.

I think you can increase strategy by playing her on more complex maps, but I don't think sense can be increased a lot except by potions. She suffered the yellow curse for me at first too, won 2 silvers before her first gold... for me it was sense and macro lagging behind instead of sense and strategy.

Harass work better on complex maps? Sure? I've had great success sending Bisu (harassment in person in my game) in P favored short rush distance and macro maps with low complexity. Im talking about the latest translated version btw.
I agree with everything you said just find odd that Harass thing because my experience says otherwise. Might just be a player thing on my part. I would also like to add that defense its not only related to complexity. Rush maps also benefit the player that knows how to defend and they usually win just by countering the rush (I assume since the game ends after a few lines only).

So any ETA on the next translated version?

for some reason, my zergs have higher macro and defense and my terrans have higher att and harrass

alright found out how to hack the game, but it's in korean. all i know is it requires cheatomatic.

In my experience, this list is mostly incorrect. I've tried a few things out and I've come to this system:
Sense - low complexity. Control - low minerals Attack - low distance Harass - low distance and low complexity Strategy - high complexity Macro - high minerals Defense - high distance Scouting - high distance and complexity
Roadrunner favours defensive players heavily, but also gives an advantage to high control players, while fighting spirit favours macro, sense and harass. Judgement day favours macro players heavily, but also defensive and sensible players. Puma, for example, is very powerful on Judgement day, but vulnerable on roadrunner. Free is god on low mineral polaris rhapsody, Bisu is king on fighting spirit, while Great is perfect for match point. Beware, though, as a map like Grand Line does not only favour strategic players, but also well-rounded ones like ForGG. When a stat is bang in the middle, it favours players with high stats in both directions. Middle minerals for example favours players with high control and high macro, like Jangbi.
Finally, there's a heavy luck factor involved. Even the weakest player has a remote chance of causing an upset. There's nothing to do about it but remember that it works both ways.
If anyone has a different, working system I'm interested to hear about it.

Try playing a low lvl harass player like Rainbow instead of Bisu. Rainbow did amazingly well in Carthage 2, his highest stat was harass then control, Carthage 2 was high rush distance, low minerals, high complexity by the way so he couldn't have been doing good because of control + short rush distance. Im not sure about Attack and Defense, Best can do surprisingly well and end games quick in short distance maps (specially with high resources like desti or neo medusa) and he doesn't have great control but has a really high attack. This doesn't mean all attack players are good on short distance maps though.

I've played as sparkyz a few times but i don't remember ever doing great or bad with puma (or a player with similar stats) since i rarely fielded him. How are your results with those choices?
Edit: Actually Puma is not that different from Savior and i've gotten Savior to A+ easily, not sure if things might be differently because of the race though, i assume it should though but i don't necessairly know what would be different.

According to Mystarcraft Cafe posts (they are written in 2008 so might be outdated by now)
Sense -Increases when the map is more complex. -Helps to fight better battles in same race matchups and long games
Strategy -Increases when the map is more complex. -More likely to succeed strategical plays -Can amplify or decrease the effects of map balance
Control -Reduces casualties in battles. -Affects the outcome of battles between certain units.
Macro -Includes making units, expanding, and resource management
Attack -Increases in maps with short rush distance -Inflicts bigger damages to the enemy while attacking
Defense -Increases in maps with long rush distance -Decreases damage inflicted while defending and inflicts heavier damages to the enemy
Harass -Increases the impacts of guerilla plays -Can attack enemy expansions with fast mobility during mid-late game
Scouting -Increases chance of stopping enemy guerilla plays early. -Can determine enemy movements during mid-late game
*Increase/decrease of stats due to map balance are calculated by % ratio
*In early battles, attack and defense are important while in mid-late battles, sense, macro, harass, scouting, etc are important
Also
Stats that affect every race and matchups: Macro, scouting
Protoss Most important:Macro (Important for all races but especially for toss) vZ:Harass, Strategy, Defense vP:Sense, Control vT:Attack, Defense
Terran Most Important:Defense or Macro(You can have only one of them but it's very hard if neither are good) vZ:Control, Harass, Strategy vP:Defense, Attack vT:Sense
Zerg Most Important:Everything vZ:Sense, Control vP:Harass, Defense/Attack(Either is fine) vT:Everything

That's good stuff, so in theory if you scale all players to = rank, P players like Best or Shuttle would be the best, T flash, fanta, Z, Calm? It seems weird for ZvZ though, Based off this JD should destroy in ZvZs but hes not THAT great from my experience, but it does explain players like Savior failing in ZvZ.

Cheatomatic is just another memory editor all you do is set a value say you have 5000$ in the game so search for 5000 then buy something so you have 4500 search for 4500. If it finds the correct line edit it to 500,000 and you should have 500,000$.
I tried it but it doesn't seem to be working. I tried some more advanced ones aswell like artmoney and nothing.

Yes according to my experience JvZ isnt imba like irl Calm is a beast in the first few seasons until he reaches SS and then starts to slump (maybe it was just maps fault, sometimes there are seasons with a ton of T favored maps).
In my 20+ seasons Free usually reaches SSS and is by far the best toss. Best and Shuttle unfortunately never do that well terran has a few players that go SS and a ton that reach S class by my experience. Flash, BaBy, Lomo, Really, Tossgirl, Fantasy (but its rare, he usually stays at A-/A) and a few others. P, besides Free, Jangbi and Stork do well and Z Jaedong reaches and keeps A+ but I think I have yet to see him reach Sclass. Calm and Hyun are the best zergs in the first seasons and after that Kwanro S (lol?!), Effort (SS), Sacsri (SSS), Hogil (S), Hydra (SS), Neel (SSS) and Luxury (S) and a lot more.
So in my games Zerg are ahead most of the time with a ton of S+ players (btw Hyuk is also SS lol ) every season, not all of them at the same time of course but something like 4 each season.
Got to start playing the Korean version because im stuck with the last translated one and my posts seem always outdated because im not playing the last one.
Edit: My memory failed me, Best is actually A- in season 22 with CJ, the first game I started

I just got into this game again, and I'm enjoying it very much.
I would really like to see battle commentaries translated. That's why i started a small project to translate them for most recent translated version i found (1.26.2 T.99)
I successfully managed to get the data from the executable, translate it some of it, write it into executable and launch the game without errors.
There are about 800+ lines of battle comments for translation and while google translator can be helpful for normal text, it's difficult to understand most of the translated commentaries, and also because i don't have a source code of the executable there is big restriction on number of letters per comment.
+ Show Spoiler [example] +original text: , 탱크 포격에 프로브까지 몰살!! google translated: , To probe into the tank shelling genocide! maximum length of text: 38 letters, above translated 43
So here I'm asking if anyone would be willing to help me in translating them ?
I have 0 knowledge about Korean and I'm not that good at English so i don't think i will have time to do this alone. Also is 1.26.2 T.99 the newest translated version? Because i wouldn't want to translate some old one.
Anyways i would like to thank the translator for this release, this game rocks!

Translating the actual comments shouldn't take long at all for me.

and 1.27.04 seems to be the latest one. It hasn't updated the Bo7 format that WL has implemented. To give you an idea of how recent it is, Effort is still in the database, as is the plethora of players that retired after the match-fixing. Savior, Hwasin and co. are in the Free Agent pool.

Thanks for the info, can you give me a link to this version? since i don't see it in the mediafire list OP has put up. And yeah this it would be nice if the new version would be translated, in theory i could try to do it but since menu text's are all over the executable and i don't have a tool to view it showing korean letters it would be very hard. but if this project will be successful who knows ;]
edit: gah, i'm stupid i didn't saw the [Guide] MyStarcraft thread (i played long time ago) there is a link for 1.27.04. I will resume work on this after i return home ;]

If anybody wants to playtest my translation i have put it up on MF here. (since i have limited test time i couldn't check if playoffs, finals and other end-game texts are all good and if some important parts missing.)
There is (i hope newest) 1.27.04 korean zip file and my early translation. Almost all menus are translated, item basic info is translated (with some small errors in potions) When i will have Players translated i will post new version, and then move on to combat comments.
I would like to update player and team data, but i'm unsure how to do it since now we have less teams, and i think it would be more fun having all the teams. If somebody have a list of player roosters before the merge it would be awesome
Oh and i would like to thank wswordsmen for his original translation, although i couldn't just paste everything into new version, it helped me in moments of confusion and generally speed up translation process.
cheers!

I'll give it a try. Thanks for the work.

Awesome. Good luck Nao, I'd love to play a completely translated version.

Translation updated! http://www.mediafire.com/?82uxbw4uzf4d0 v0.3.0 features translated player names, so i think the game is in "playable" state.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated, any errors in translation or lack of it in an *important* element (for now i'm not going to do item comments since they don't bring anything meaningful to the game). For now i know about most errors that can be accessed from the beginning of the game (like some of the potion names not translated) but i don't have time to actually play the game and check if i.e. "finals" are translated right.
While TL progamer database helped me find most missing player names i couldn't find AKA's of these players, if somebody can identify them i would be grateful: 최수범 (T) 루오시안 (P) chinese pro gamer ? 김태형 (P) commentator ?
Also i would like to thank Hesmyrr for helping me with translating the enormous amount of text for battle commentaries. If anybody would like to help translating these just PM me or post here.
Cheers

Most of them are such general comments that I think I need to have basic idea of the context they appear in (most critically, whether they appear as stand-alones or progamers name at the front). Could lead to major revisions.
For everyone keeping track of this project, I'd give it perhaps a week to week and a half in current state of progress.
Edit: Actually no, within a week I guess. Just watched some games and I think I have idea about how to do this.

Also doothegee agreed to help translating these so it'll definitely help.

Naked .exe files are sometimes considered dangerous without a good reason by some AV. i will upload the next version zipped and this hopefully will allow you to download it. Or just shut off your AV's web-shield and scan downloaded file but I'm sure it's clean
Also none of the players present in last translated version was excluded in this, but some are transfered to independent player pool. After the season you can pick them up if you have money saved (you can re-roll independent pool by loading game several times)
edit: heh i proof red the post 2 times and still there were errors i need to get some sleep.

he used to play starcraft under that id.

I was playing this and my entire team of CJ Entus consisted of S-ranked players and repeat starleague champions. My team is the only one that has won starleagues/proleagues in every single season so far, so they're the top of the crowd.
Suddenly, after playing through the new, translated exe, all the teams are suddenly evening out and playing at A to A+ and taking out my guys.

how you doing with the translation Nao?

Once again serious apologizes. Haha no problem , thanks for what you translated already and good luck sorting out what you need to do!
As for the project itself I've done some error corrections here ant there but I'm stalled on translation. Hell if all else fails maybe i will learn some hangul to better understand automatic translations (i heard it is preatty easy, almost like katakana/hiragana in japanese )

You guys are doing a great job don't apologize Hesmyrr, you did nothing wrong. We should thank you for the effort you put into this, as long as there's any translation then we would be grateful for them.

I think you should extract the image folder again. I don't know if this is of any relevance but I have the korean as my regional language.

That happened to me when I installed the old version. You need to set your computer to Korean interface when you download so it can recognize the characters. assuming you are working on a PC, go control panel => region and languages => change the settings to Korean (remember how you found the control panel, because everything will be Korean.) After downloading it, set it back to English, and the images should still be there.
Although a bit of warning, ever since I did that, every time a youtube video fails, (because it violated copy right or something) the error message comes up in Korean, and every time apple tries to get me to update quicktime, the message is in Korean. It isn't that much of an inconvenience, but I still can't figure out how to make it go away. Oh, and there are two Korean options when I right click the desktop. I don't know what they do...

I'm not sure if it helps but i will upload 1.27.04 as a .rar so it should not be necessary to switch to Korean language in windows. I will also put my translated exe with a small update (v0.3.1 only minor corrections and fixes from v0.3.0) here.

also can you please tell me what is the small update for the 3.1? The update includes only some fixes for translated elements (no random hangul letters or random characters in some menus, players, comments, etc. also some item names fixes and cosmetic changes)
I put it up mainly mainly as an addon to original 1.27.04 to fix img file names problem.
Player positions and stats are hardcoded and it would be very hard to change. The one thing i thought about is a save trainer, (in theory it could transfer or add new players, update their stats to current performance and start at season 1). Data in save is more coherent and easier to decipher i.e. i found an address for team's money but they are in some very strange "unit" like zero funds =/= 0 and one dollar =/= 1$ , so i expect more such problems if i ever would try to make such trainer.
I will probably look into it more as I translate more and be in need of some testing (infinite money is handy here )

Nao, thanks for putting your sweat (and maybe blood) into translating this game.
Cant wait to see the outcome!!

I just played 3 seasons of this...man...I won individual league finals 3 times and got 2nd 3 times in proleague...
Talk about consistency lol.
I never have enough money...always spend all the money on good gear for top player T____T
The 4 other players I use seem to be improving though, due to excessive use of gum. Everyone else on my team is F now lol.
This game is brainlessly awesome...

This game is brainlessly awesome... If you use the gum and train your team up when you first start, you should have a team full of A players and probably a couple S players by the time you reach your 4th season or so.
Once you get there, you can keep improving players by sending them out on maps that reflect their skills and just rape face.
You'll win the proleague titles, but the downside to that is many of your players will be in the individual leagues and you'll have a lot of team kills.

wow i only use gum but half of my team can only at least get to A, and FlaSh get to S or SS or SSS.
how can u get a team full of A?
maybe im using KTFlash team =,=

how do i use the items? I bought alot of gum..and vitavita..

ohh just found out..thanks ^^ how do i save btw?
|
Is the text live report during games is translated ? I have it in korean, but from some posts I read I thought it was translated ? edit : seems I missunderstood. Today is not my day.

The only other way would be to save whole process memory (witch shouldn't be hard, especially for such small game but i don't know of any programs except emulators that can do this)

Alright New Version is up HERE (MyStarcraft 1.27.04 TLv0.4.0.rar) There are some more fixes and more comments translated (most of it are Protoss related) you can thank doothegee for newest translation. There is still much to be done thou, i will try to keep you updated.
And please if anyone is enjoying this game, if you spot some errors (beside the ones in item's lists and occasional lack of translation) please post them here or PM me ;]
Cheers!
ps: just got myself an Steelseries 6Gv2 mechanical keyboard! (razer blackwidow can suck it!) It's Awesome but it takes time to switch so there is probably more than usual errors and misspels hehe

Nao, thanks for the efforts! wish i can read koreans.. =\
anyway, how come Magic Rainbow Potion reduces stats every time i use it?
|
|
so do u mean it's best to use it when im at 100% condition?
|
Nope doesn't change the effect. What I do is spam potions whenever they're above 88% condition. From what I've seen it's all just pretty much random.
If you plan on using them soon though I'd make sure that they're at above 100% (you might need to do a bit of recording to make sure).
EDIT: Actually, this is kinda important. What team are you using? SKT and STX you could do what I just said as early as season 4 or 5. FOX maybe season 6. OZ and KT around the same time if you've been lucking out on proleague. Otherwise it's usually better to be prudent with your money and not waste them on potions.
|
Omg Nao I fucking love you. I'd like to see this become and Iphone app or something as well if some coders were up for it.

So what you're saying that; i should save up the $$ till season 4/5 then spam that pots, amirite? im playng SKT. Currently Fantasy, Bisu, Best are aces. Fantasy was S at 1 point. Just ended season 2..
Edit : ended season 3. Fantasy ended up with SS now. Bisu and Best A+ and A respectively. ^^

Wow i cant believe i change my strategy and use more Training point (100pts i think?!?), now most of my player are B. HoeJJa, firefist and tempest = B/B+. Stats + Violet = A/A+. FlaSh and forGG = SSS. 4 seasons and FlaSh + Forgg in Final 3 times together(teamkill FML). Firefist can easily kill jaedong lol dunno why jaedong = B. HoeJJa really good at ZvP ..

I'm loving this. The translated battle text adds enormously to the immersion. I'm eagerly awaiting the fully translated version.
|
Midterm, probably definitely good idea for you guys to find another translator because I am not even going to be able to touch the battle texts for awhile =/
Actually don't know how the progress is going with Nao actually, hadn't really contacted him so maybe he already made inroads I am not aware of.
|
Sup Nao, any news? How are u guys going with this project?
|
hello.. any new updates?
|
yeh could u please give us some update what had been happen?
|
|
I abandoned this project, unfortunately, had it not been clear for everyone. I have not been under any contact with Nao- think he was keep walking with the other translator so possibly there is some progress. The work to be done wasn't that hard really.. it was just that I was procrastinating bastard D:
|
I noticed that a couple player's pictures were missing from the last translated update (could have just been me, I don't know). I went back and added the pictures to the files so if anybody wants them... here it is.

(ah nice you bumped it so i don't have to^^) yeah if you just d/l the newer exe you don't get the pictures alternatively you can just install the latest korean release and launch it with the translated exe too
also dunno if you guys still did it the "old" way but you don't need to change your system to korean to install MySC, just use applocale for the installer and put it to hangul (3rd from the bottom i think) most likely already mentioned though, silly me :3 yeah~
is there any chance of a new version coming out? seems the cafe doesn't have a newer one, somebody know if this is still being updated? (the korean versions)
what i find annoying is how i can't seem to use items in WL format for continuos kills; that nullifies most gains immediately unless it's an all kill...would love to see that changed. still mad fun and more of a timesink than i'd like!
|
too bad that there is no Winner's League (
But still this game is epic
/nvm Playing 2nd season and Winner's League is playable
|
So if I had hwasin at s in my old version and use the newest exe file, does it mess up my save?
|
Any news on more updated battle text?
|
no more update
|
I love the korean version, thank you for doing this but the link appears to not have anything there, could you at least keep an old version up?
|
Does anyone have any version of this they can reupload? I really liked this game and just thought of it. Should be kept alive imo!

Awesome, thanks for the links. Such good memories playing this!

I saw this game on SK's stream, they're up to v1.27.04. Looks so fun
|
It was up to version 1.28 or 1.29 or something
but I personally still play 1.27.04 since it has 12 team proleague
