==== On a side note, I would like to say that I will no longer be posting on the Sense of Star blog. Though I would love to contribute to the blog on a regular basis, I unfortunately do not have enough time.
I am not entirely sure whether there are many readers of the blog, but if anyone feels that the blog is worth continuing, please PM or e-mail me. I do have unpublished rough drafts of certain articles that I intended to post, as well as other ideas for article topics.
Thank you so much for the translation. are you the only person that worked on it? if so, that's fucking unreal. you (and your possible team) deserve blue stars ~_~
I read this a couple years ago - a lot of it is self help-y motivational writing, but the parts about BoxeR's early progaming career and the development of the proscene are just fascinating. This translation is such an excellent project...thank you OP!

Thank you! Very good read. So many good quote. Amidst all the hype of their play, we often overlook the human aspect of progamers and I think the book illustrates that facet perfectly.
This is just staggering.. We all know the development of esports in Korea and Boxer's legendary rise are so incredible, so the translation of a whole book charting these things is a truly amazing contribution not only to the Starcraft esports scene but to esports in general. 3333
edit: Just read a few of your blog posts. They are awesome~ Hope you continue posting.
Finally! This biography is why I love BW. Boxer is BW. Without Boxer, BW would never have been great, at all. Now I can finally read the last parts, thx ^^
i remember the first time i read this (it was only until #78)... was so good i kept checking the site almost every other day to see if new stuff was added

The epic!!
lol
i know this and the preceding paragraph word for word... the last 2 paragraphs of #78 as well (last paragraph was a single sentence though)... plus several others although not verbatim (but pretty close)
Boxer's "perfect" SCV rush versus Yellow = a bewildered and amazed white kid on youtube = white kid stumbles upon a StarCraft site called Teamliquid in search of more epic.
Hey marencielo, I always enjoyed your sense of star blog... I would greatly appreciate it if you'd post your drafts :D Thanks for all the work you've done, you've been a great help to the community!
Thanks a lot for this. I just finished reading it, great job translating this and making it available to the english-speaking community. Awesome book, too.
oh my god this is amazing. you should consider putting up a paypal link or something...i'd sure consider donating to something that took so much time and that i appreciate so much
I looked up the terminologies of Starcraft such as ‘zealot’ with the English-Korean dictionary that I had never used, and I fell completely into its world, saying things like, ‘Need more minerals’ when lunchtime drew near.
I'm confused... I read this over two months ago. Why is it just being posted now? It was definitely interesting, and the effort is welcome, I am just curious as to why it is being posted now as if it was just translated.

Because only now has it been 100% completed. Over the past two years more and more has been added, but only now is it completely done.
I've read parts of it months ago, too, and I remembered it took lots of control to stop myself from reading the english so I can read it in korean when I got it. Its very interesting, and unfortunately for me, my korean skills were too bad for me to try and keep reading the korean... Maybe I will get back to reading your interesting english translation after school is out. (1-3 days XD)
Finally finish reading the biography. very interesting biography of boxer especially the friendship between Him and his friend(Jinsuk). + Show Spoiler +
I must say the part where Jinsuk little brother left a voice mail to Lim Yo-Hwan and how he wanted to see him before he goes away was very very touching
Thanks so much. Omg 3 days ago after SK Telecom T1 vs Samsung KHAN, I had Chance to talk with him and other players. BoxeR is a really cool guy, See my profile picture, some people wanted I took pictures with Bisu, and BoxeR arrived and say "ohh, I want too" ahah. My girlfriend has already the biography in Korean. But that's cool for everybody you post that in English too. Really good.
Yeah, seriously. Anyone who is getting 2 beta keys for something and doesn't have a friend to give the second one to (should be most of you), please give one to this dude. You know he deserves it the most.
Amazing! Thanks for making this a reality! I've heard about this book for so long but only now get a chance to read it. The blog style is also quite swanky, I like : D

Awesome! I remember reading what was finished of the bio three years ago (?). What incredible dedication and love for the craft! I salute you sir! A manly man most certainly! Thanks a trillion billion times for your incredible work with this translation!
great, that's incredible, thanks so much On a side note, pls continue with sense of star, thats one of my favorites blog, even if isn't actualized daily or weekly or. monthly....
There are annoying people who cant stop complaining, trolling, who can't argue with good arguments, who can't participate in a thread in a constructive way.
And there is marencielo.
This guy desserves so much credit for his work.
TL members, maybe this guy can be putted in the TL's hall of fame?
I just started reading the book. Its funny how one of the reasons boxer switches from protoss to terran because the reaver AI became stupid and reaver drop was his favorite build.
Thank you very much for translating! I've read parts of your translation and your Sense of Star blog a long time ago and it's great to see you've worked so much on something that the whole community will enjoy! Good luck to you in the future!
This is probably one of the most involving reads I've ever had, if not THE most. And I'm a person who avoids reading when possible.. Already halfway through
I got the link from a friend years ago and have checked in once a month or so since then to see if there were any updates. It has always been very exciting every time there were an update and it is very exciting to finally be able to read it all.

Yes, Boxer is the one who made me realize that progamers are as much human as anyone else and in many way they are more humane than a lot of professional athletes. They also put so much into their games, it is very impressive. That alone makes progaming more professional than some sports.
really really really appreciate what you did there... I love your writing style and always read articles from your sense of star blog to friends of mine in teamspeak who don't know sc / the scene... they really loved it too ^^
so yeah... just so you know there are people who know and appreciate what you did in this special microcosm!
DONE! Man that was an interesting book! I couldn't believe I had actually read the biography of a professional Starcraft Broodwar player.. But I did. First biography ever, and I really loved the fact that he mentioned Dalgas, because I have walked in the forests of Dalgas. Great book!
hey thanks/ but one question. This isnt ALL of the book right? I mean that would be insane... just wondering cuz it goes like chapter 38 then 53, or something. anway ty for this

Thought this might deserve a bump for those who joined TL after SC2. The rough analytics for the boxer bio site didn't look so ... visited last I checked
Thanks, EtherealDeath. I remember this being translated because of some thread mentioning it in Blogs (I think?), but I never really got around to reading it, and I sort of forgot about it. Appreciate the bump.

It's actually an autobiography which was translated. Perhaps the title should be changed to Boxer Autobio? o.O

*puts on hipster glasses* I was still lurking when this was posted, sweet stuff, I dont think I ever got to thank people for linking / translating it, was such a good read.
I'll quote the post mentioned above so that we can keep it to just this thread:

Thanks for bumping this. I have been rereading it today. It speaks to me much more strongly than the first time I went through it.
A lot of people came into StarCraft seeing the scene in flight. Even if they considered themselves unfortunate to be on the downswing of the scene, it is nothing like it was when it was being built from the ground up. In the context of SOSPA, Lim Yo Hwan's struggle to realise his passions and do what he wanted with his life is especially thought provoking. I'm very grateful this was published. There are a number of other player's whose biographies I'd also have enjoyed seeing.
