1 gate expo into obs is pretty safe (if you can micro against FD). Going templars means that you are cutting into Arbiter productions. Terran will most likely turtle on FS cause they want that 2-1 timing. If they are turtling, just go and mass expand

The most flow chart way of playing pvt is opening with either 3 goon expand or 21 nex. After that get a robo and go up to 3 gates. Go obs and when your obs scouts there base take a third if its safe. Judge your 4th timing on their factory count and go arbs. If possible try to have HT in a shuttle and a 5th when terran hits with their 2-1.

PvT is really frustrating at first but once you get decent at macro it's really easy until you face Terrans that know timings and stuff. You should post a replay, it'd be easier to help you

Always shower 30 minutes before sex =.-
There, now both inside jokes have been immortalized on Teamliquid.

Hey, in pvz when protoss forge fast expands on a 4 players map he usually sends the probe which made his first pylon to scout. If this probe doesnt get lucky many players also send the probe which has built the forge. Why is that? to me it feels like the forge finishs before the probe even arrives zergs potential natural, so that you have to build the cannon anyways. But then again ppl arent stupid, so tell me which information is he searchin for?
Also is there already a thread which compares the eco and risks of different ffe builds?

to scout the 9 pool timing, that way he knows if he has to build 2 cannons or not. It's like how terrans going rax fe scoust at 11/13 or 12/14 so that they can also scout for the 9pool as well

brainfart, damn dem zerg!
|
Also to scout for any super early Pool. If they 4/5 Pooled, your Probe should see the Lings right as they're at their ramp, and you have time to get a Pylon and Cannon up in your main, or if the Zerg doesn't scout you at first and is sending Lings the wrong way then you can get Cannons up at your nat and block with Probes and it's basically GG

Just played a decent freestyle macro PvT but fell apart at mid-late game. Any suggestions? Replay

- Dragoon range was a little later than it should have been but didn't really have an impact.
- Your macro fell behind reasonably early on, you're floating at over 1000 minerals for a couple minutes at around 8-9 minutes in.
- You started your +1 upgrade at the forge quite late.
- I would recommend making a stargate at the same time as your templar archives to get arbiters out with energy earlier.
- If you're going to send goons without obs to clear mines from nexus spots send only one, or better yet send a zeal, you lost a couple of goons to mines at the top right bases.
- Make more than 6 gateways in your main before you're maxed, you want at least 10 or so before you start adding them elsewhere.
-As soon as you're maxed start massing gateways at another main.
-You didn't upgrade air weapons or armour for your carriers, it's really important to get them because those 2-2 goliaths were able to just kill all your interceptors.
-Your carriers moved over a bunch of goliaths without attacking and took a lot of damage, got to take better care of them
-More carriers caught out by goliaths, painful losses.
Overall you played pretty well, he moved out with a really strong initial push and you were able to stop it but you lost because you couldn't max again quickly enough so you weren't able to crush his next pushes.
Also it's always good to have a DT or something patrolling the bases they're likely to take later in the game to delay them

The SK double is a build that cuts production at 21 to get a nexus and a 2nd gateway out. As such, it relies on good control with your first couple of dragoons to wear down terran's attack in time for your production to catch up and your next 2 dragoons to finish.
With this in mind, it would definitely be more useful to get dragoon range before the first dragoon. Your range upgrade finished right as terran hit your front door, whereas really you want it to finish about when terran is starting to move out.
Your build could do with a bit of rounding out, since your nexus started a bit late and your 2nd gateway started very late; don't underestimate the importance of production building timing. If you do the build right, your 2nd dragoon, 2nd gateway and range upgrade should finish at roughly the same time (within maybe 10 seconds).
The key is to be much more ambitious with those first 2 dragoons - you need to be defending the attack the moment it leaves your opponent's base, otherwise you'll end up in a situation like this. This guy's attack only had 5 marines, and yet it still rolled you.
In conclusion, this build is treading a very thin line and you need to have solid dragoon control and crisp execution if you want to pull it off. If you can manage that, then it really pays off. Also, don't forget to grab observer tech really fast.
EDIT: It should be noted that you will need to take probes off gas in order to afford your nexus/gateway on time. The way I've seen it done is to take one guy out after you've started your 1st dragoon and range upgrade, and put him back in around the time the robotics facility is starting. There are probably other ways of doing this, and I encourage you to fiddle around and find what works best for you.

Thank you so much Forcewater. Yea not a good idea to idle goons in natural for no reason. I'll look into my BO once again and modify it so I can counter better.
Much appreciated, once again thanks.

Hi, I was wondering if there was a bunker rush defense replay ZvT where the zerg successfully defends. I know there's already this thread:http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/bw-strategy/43356-zvt-bunker-rush-agony but I think I need to see it to believe it. The replays day9 posted 8 years ago seem to be defunct now.
