I mean, colours that belong to players 8 I think in original SC, BW added green, making 9. There are other colours that can be made in UMS maps though, like black. Off the top of my head the regular colours are red, blue, green, orange, brown, white, purple, teal and yellow

I know that back in the day when it was 'still a thing' it was played on fast speed, this is back in like 1999-2000. It was a garbage ladder. If they're intending for b.net (or through fish some other third private ladder) to become a mainstay for laddering they will have to change it quite a bit from how it was way back when. what is battlenet's ladder like anyways? i've never actually used it before, is it actually going to kill iccup on thursdsay? Or iccup map packs? The notes for tomorrows patch say "Added Popular Maps to streamline finding games or game types", which probably means that everyone will automatically have maps like fighting spirit, circuit breaker etc.

Player 12 is cyan, but is considered (neutral) Players 10 and 11 have some weird buggy colors i need to go check. One of colors is black as well, forget which one. There might be others...

I'd say: Don't be so quick to count out the mutas. By your logic, you wouldn't want to build mutas against marines, even less so than vs Goliaths. Mutas do something against a few rines, but nothing against enough rines. Yet mutas vs rines is standard for the midgame, because it's all relative to the amounts of units involved at different points in time. The mutas work against goliaths, they just don't work any more after a certain point in the game in a straight up fight against too many goliaths. By the time you get your first wave of 9+ mutas, Terran cannot have more than a handful of gols, actually Terran has to rush to Goliaths asap or he'll die to your mutalisks. So in every game you can recreate that timing to do damage or - more importantly - lock Terran down in his base on the defense. This should give you a free early 3rd and more time than usual to drone up really hard. If you do this, he won't have big numbers of goliaths that you couldn't control with even bigger numbers of hydras or whatever you want to build...

The success of the hydra followup depends a lot on how much time the mutas can buy

I remember when playing bw Terran campaign Mission 2 at one stage you have medics and ghosts to blind/lockdown tanks on high ground so your pilots can enter the battle cruisers safely. And back then I was wondering why the tank shot back at my ghosts although i threw an optical flare right into his face. Another question would be, if there is a miss chance for the blind unit to hit? I can't imagine though.
