Here are a few things I think you should change, and down below there is one BIG thing you should work on most. - You're playing it very risky (especially on a 2player map) with NO SCOUTING, no initial worker-scout or ling-scout. In game 1 you build no lings at all in the beginning. In both games the Terran could just have taken his first 6-8 marines and gone kill your natural. If you want to go 12hatch, you should send a worker to his base (I think on 12 supply on 4-player-maps, much earlier on 2-player-maps) and build 2-6 lings when your pool finishes and send them out to Terrans natural to check what he has, to see if he attacks or not. - In game 1 your build-order was flawed, you had too much gas and too late mutas (it was ok in the other game though, I think); Build order mistakes must not happen on higher ranks. - Your mutas are idle for too long, work on your multi-tasking by minimizing the time it takes you to do your macro-stuff at home (it's always the same stuff). Also, your muta-micro is not good enough, not precise, you should practice it more. - Your attacks with lurkers/hydras in the midgame need MORE LINGS for support. Now for the big point: Generally speaking: You should have no problems against a Terran player of that cailber if only you macroed better. If you have 5-6 bases and he has 2, as Zerg you can literally burry him with your units. If you cannot spend all your resources because you don't have enough larva, build more hatcheries. Tthere is no other reason why you shouldn't be able to rush to 200/200. Check your bases at 10minutes, at 12, 14 and at 16: You don't build enough drones, you don't spread your drones around all the mineral-lines evenly, and crucially: You're not mining enough gas. You could have 8 or more additional drones in total on all the geysers you secured in the midgame. If you macro better, you will max out easily against a Terran who gives you so much time. I'd recommend that you don't take more than 4 bases at the moment, even if you can. 4 bases are enough, and more bases are pointless if you cannot use only 4 to the fullest. To sum this up: Work on your early-scouting and on your macro during the muta- and lurker-phase, build LOTS of lurker-ling (and hydras if you want) to stop Terran's pushes - or attack if Terran is not coming, but keep in mind that in the midgame, as long as you can expand like in these replays, Terran has to attack you. Then tech to hive, build less defilers, but MORE ULTRA CRACKLING, cast some swarms and just box and a-move. As to why you don't macro better: It's just practice, repetition, really. I checked your replay with BWChart and you seem to have a good hotkey-setup. So just keep practicing your build-order and macro in the single player for a while, no opponent-pressure, just you and your economy. Learn how it feels to macro efficiently, see how much stuff you can have at 10, 12, 14 minutes if you're focussing on managing your economy well. Then practice muta-micro for a while and return to the ladder. | ||
