Just posting a few updates for the Fnatic.MSI Rookie Draft:
* The winner of the tournament will be winning a brand new MSI laptop * The format has expanded to take the top 32 instead of the top 16 * We will be evaluating all players from the Ro16 onwards before determining the team. * Moon Glave will be replacing Andromeda
On February 25 2010 03:16 3D.TemujiN wrote: Xeris , i wanted to ask you , why u are using so old mappool ? ( andromeda, outsider ) and there is no advantage finishing in top1-8 of ladder ? ((
The map pool was made before I got involved, and I guess it's not going to change. The advantage of finishing top 1-8 in the ladder is you get seeded higher, so top 8 ladder players will all be in different groups.
a lot of polish players i imagine would be going to LanCraft in the czech republic (its from march 5th to march 7th) since its just about 1 mile away from the polish border
i know asterrix tarson pike and predator are going 100% and yayba is most likely going to go also but thats 50-50 atm

we'll see what happens as the ladder nears its end and what the seedings look like.
FRD-Princess!!!! o.O OMG, must be one good looking princess, like this:
Click, click, click, click....
(not a girl)
,,, ,,, ,,,
FFFFFFFffffffffffuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu....
I hate starcraft t.t
Jk On a serious note, I actually be hoping Juan Carlos (FRD-Princess/gOsI[Terran]) or Oystein wins. gOsI[Terran] showed really nice play in the TSL2, he would be deserving. =)
slider @ #10 rofl, he is the most arrogant bm fucker iv ever seen in my entire life
if he makes it in the top32 when ladder stage ends sum1 plz take screenshots of him going crazy after he losses in the group games or later on in the tourney, i wont be able to come obs this myself t.t it should be hilarious^^
Banned Players - HappyZerg (TSL abuser) - Control (playing FRD players on his alternate account) - Predator (playing FRD players on his alternate account)

This is looking to be a pretty nice league. I am really happy that fnatic is looking to form a StarCraft team. They also couldn't have chosen anyone better than Xeris to manage them. Congrats Duran!

wtf? Why do you ban players the day before ladder ends? There were no postings about banned players in the rules, so wtf?
You could assume you were going to be banned from every decent tourney after abusing in TSL2. I think you deserve it, the reason they ban now is because Xeris took over very recently.

Rules were made before I joined. Also they were just the original TSL rules, which didn't really specify anything about previously banned players... but it's kinda a no-brainer.

Admins saw that I'm applying for this tourney from the first day, and noone said that I can't take part in it, it's not fair to ban the last day before ladder ends, I've played games and I'm in the top32 ;;

It's his tournament he has all the rights in the world to ban you. Allowing you to participate than take it away was wrong, but it IS fnatics tournament.

TT1/Kabal cheated and got punished by the community (in many ways), lately he showed that he can play at a very high level (for foreigners) 100% legit. The cheating from the guys in RoX is too recent, as u say.

Yeah I agree with him, the admins knew he was in the tourney and didn't ban him right away. It is pretty unfair to come in and decide that since he cheated in a TL event to ban him from something completely unrelated...

He was banned from TL events, GG events, WGT events. It's just that the fnatic manager isn't fully aware of the whole scene so he wasn't aware. I don't know why anyone would find this surprising.

lol HappyZerg. You cheated in a 22k tournament and now people don't give you the benefit of the doubt? How unfair is that?! I mean it's totally reasonable to expect admins to go through all the ip addresses of everyone you played and looking for smurfs and thrown games. You've already shown that if you think you can get away with it you'll do it so they'll pretty much be forced to. And this tournament is for your benefit so the admins owe you the huge workload you cause by being a cheater.

I think its an excellent punishment making them waste their time then ban them on the last day. Now they get to feel how it was for everyone who played hundreds of games during the TSL ladder that suffered from their cheating and ended up wasting lots of time doing the same thing.

Yeah it's kinda dog stating all the punishments after the event and then just adding new ones arbitrarily as you go along.

There should be of standard behavior within the community to humiliate cheaters, I really don't see the issue here. I'm really glad he wasted all that time playing games only to get banned at the end, quite well deserved to be honest.

Zulu, sometimes it's better to give up. Realistically any punishment they make will only be relevant online or in SC, so therefore is not much of a punishment at all.
this is the equivalent of like, your friend cheats on a test, you then scratch his car by accident but when he confronts you, you reply, ur a cheater, u deserve to be punished anyway.

thats a horrible analogy. The guys an idiot for playing in the first place when he knows hes caught a ton of shit for the TSL stunt. He should have asked someone. He made people waste their time in TSL so he gets what he deserves.
Its not like it was some innocent person here.
a better analogy would be something like
The teacher assigned you a ton of extra work to help your grade. You then cheat on your test and are caught. You turn in all the exta assigned work and the teacher says dont fucking bother.
The point is: I have a certain amount of say in who joins the team because I'm the manager. I don't want that guy - especially because he's cheated and expressed 0 remorse for almost fucking somebody out of money. That is the key for me. There was no apology from him whatsoever anywhere, only incredulous statements (see all the comments he's posted here).
From the team chat it looks like there was some problem with KwarK getting a AH warning and the win from iccup in a match vs Deska. Was that clarified?

I got the win because the ah said Deska was hacking. Something along the lines of "FRD.Deska has a memory modification in the starcraft file and has been disconnected". He said he'd make an icc complaint about it which could, in the worst case scenario, result in -230 for me. Obviously I'd like to avoid that, especially since I've ranked up since then so it'd be worse than just the 230 taken away. However I don't anticipate the complaint being upheld. There's no way of him proving he wasn't hacking and I said gg in game and stopped really trying after I'd already got the points.
Not saying you did hack. I'm saying the icc antihack claimed you did and disconnected you and instantly gave me the win. I've got no way of knowing how accurate the antihack is, all I know is what it said.

1) he sent his information a day late 2) he didn't have a picture or a replay pack
Considering I've dealt with him by stupidly letting him in my team twice before, I know this is not an isolated incident. Furthermore, since Fnatic is a big, serious team, I want players who are mature and responsible. The fact that I know Terran/Princess/Juan can't even follow simple instructions or meet simple deadlines is a big red flag. The last thing I would want is for him to join the team, sign a contract, and then fail to show up for some clanwars or fulfill his responsibilities. Then it makes me look bad, and causes a lot of trouble. All things I do not want to happen.
I thought that maybe the 3rd time would be a charm - but I was once again proven wrong. Every time I let my guard down a put a little faith in him I walk away being disappointed. So I decided I'm not going to waste my time any more and go with the players who can actually follow directions.
At the end of the day, I'd rather have someone less good at Starcraft but more pleasant to deal with.
Fenix rescheduled his games with me for 20 minutes ago and then didn't show. I'm fairly flexible so hopefully he can find another time. Still, provisionally a good result?

How do you predict the matchups? Are they organized by seeds or random?
Yeah, the original image that I pasted the names onto had things like A1 and E2 written on it to show where the winners were going. You could have seen it on the Fnatic website last night but I guess that option is no longer available, heh.
I'm not sure which matches I will cast yet - I'll try to do as much as I can before I have to go to my cousin's funeral thing Saturday afternoon... hopefully there won't be any lag and I can do 1-2 series.
Well I'm surprised at some of the shuffling around and the fact that Temujin isn't there but overall it's a good looking bracket. I felt like I was pulling for an underdog when I put Angel in my predictions so I am pleased with that one. But I would still like to see the full results from the previous stage. Will you be releasing that information?
temujin quit after going 0-2 in the group stage :p because he blamed lag on Deska even though Deska played all his games without lag (except the ones vs Temujin) and I was there to test lag and confirmed it wasn't Deska lagging and Temujin lagged vs KawaiiRice ... but somehow he claims it was Deska lagging, so he ragequit after he lost those games.

A few notes about the Groups:
Group C had a tie breaker for 2nd place and GosuDark came out on the winning side. Group G had a tie breaker between the top 3 players in which Asterrix and AngeL came up on top. GoOdy chose to drop from the competition, hence the 3 way tie.
I guess the others, Duran already replied about : )

This would not have been possible if Asterrix had been undefeated. What probably happened was a three-way 2-1 tie caused by GoOdy leaving the competition and giving at least one person a free win.
Furthermore we know that the only games actually played in group D were between Oystein and Shauni. The win/loss numbers aren't really indicative of matches won and lost, they just organize the players. In some cases they don't add up properly so I wouldn't think too much about them.
Anyway, thanks for the standings, much appreciated.
I am working on getting some more games up today. Windows 7 sure isn't very friendly for video editing. Am running into TONS of time consuming problems ever since switching over from XP.
Plugging away at it though. 2 of the KawaiiRice games are up on my channel right now. .
In group D Oystein went 3-0, meaning her beat every contestant. Shauni went 2-1, so he lost to Oystein but beat Jumper and Pro Jumper and Pro are both 0-3, meaning when they faced each other, both lost.
Now, group G is the group of the winners :D There is a total of 9 wins and 3 defeats lol.

That was an error on the designers part and mine for not spotting it earlier ; ) Thanks for bring that to my attention. This is the correct standings of Group G:
Am just going to list the forfeits, since I didn't do it earlier and the group phase results seem murky.
Group A: - MoMan forfeited, Future played his games and lost, Tarson gave up against KabaL after he saw he was top 2 anyway.
Group B: - Kwark gave up his last bo3 after earlier losses (I think). Everyone else competed.
Group C: - Everyone played and Kr came up on 1st spot, tie breaker and GosuDark came up with 2 map wins first.
Group D: - Jumper and PrO didn't bother informing or turning up - Oystein and Shauni competed for the 1st and 2nd place and thus Oystein finishes 1st.
Group E: - Duran already explained this.
Group F: - AureS forfeited all his matches. - CastrO won against LeeYH (mate) & Yayba - Yayba forfeited his last game against LeeYH.
Group G: - GoOdy played one map against Radio and lost, he forfeited everything else after that. - Radio beat Asterrix, AngeL beat Radio, Asterrix beat AngeL (+ default win from GoOdy) - Tie breaker came about and Radio didn't turn up, result was AsterriX played AngeL for 1st spot in the group.
Group H: - Everyone competed.
Hope that clears it all up! We have more VOD's coming out today, I'll get Duran to update the main post later.
