Recall goes in, in the one place where Light doesn't have a ton of mines pre-planted. Light pulls his SCVs and looks like he'll clean it up decently. BeSt still has a large army in the middle of the map, and is taking his 5th
Recall didn't do to much other than snipe some depots and get some SCVs, but it's keeping Light in his base so Best's fifth can get up. Solid play so far by both players.
Best attempts to attack, gets some tanks out of position, but he's forced to back off since Light holds the high ground. Light moving into Best's fifth.
As expected, the expansion close to Light is now being taken out fairly easily. Best is responding by expanding to a more sensible location in the top left
BeSt attempts another recall, but again he loses half the units to mines and Light is going to clean this up, having only lost a few turrets and 1 factory.
Best spreading his units all around the center in different control groups. Possibly to get a killer concave if Light pushes? Or myabe just so his 5+ arbiters dont' all get EMP'd together.
Light moves up and secures a defensive position that lets him shell 8:00 and cut the base off, but BeSt comes in and uses stasis to break everything, despite a few very nice EMPs.
The map is now evenly divided, but Light's bases should have more minerals since he took them later (especially 2:00 and 3:00). Best still has a very large ground army, though
Best loses an arbiter through indecisiveness (trying to dodge EMP while turrets blast him), then sighs and shifts his head. He knows that was a mistake.
light's defense this game was just too good, best couldnt break through it without ht. now that he has it he doesnt have the army nor the mobility to use it.
Um...I switch over from Samsung versus Hite, and I find the entire map covered in purple dots, and Best sitting in his base destroying his own buildings.
Best kills his own buildings for a better room to battle Light, but then Light just lures Best's units to fight near the ridge where he gets smoked by 100000 tanks.
BeSt's army just got annihilated, despite all his hard work positioning it inside his (now empty) main. I guess he made Light work a lot harder, so maybe he'll be too exhausted next set to play at his peak performance.
Best did the exact same thing against flash in the MSL semi-finals. I thought he was being stubborn back then, but now I think he does it just to piss off his opponents. I think I have a new least favorite progamer now.

I guess you haven't seen Canata doing that style of play, turtle on 1 base when the protoss has like a million carriers and the entire map..
SKT T(urtle)1 build, just sayin'
No coincidence that same protoss was Best. PvTs involving Best these days are... not what they once were. When he lost to Lomo yet another prolonged PvT in the SPL finals, it's all been downhill from there.
ok, light played really well. i didnt spot any holes in his defense, drops were a bit meh, but thats it
The map makes it very easy for Terran to claim his third. There's a gap from third to fourth, but once you cross that gap and fortify the high ground, your 4th + 5th are secure and the high ground pod makes it very easy to defend the sixth (and deny the Protoss from claiming it as a seventh).
Of course, by the time you're that stretched out, recall is big danger.

I originally hated Best because he was super overrated. These days, he isn't so overrated anymore, but I stray between a line of feeling sorry for him because he seems insecure and really broken up when he loses, and hate because he does shit like this.

Fantasy moving up along the back high ground side to set up a siege on Light's natural, but Light counters with vultures in Fantasy's natural and he has to pull SCVs.
First wraith out for Light, going to scout the siege tank contain at the high ground.
Fantasy tries to deny high-ground, fails and loses a tank. Light BARELY saves his CC from death. Fantasy's is getting counter-sieged. 2-port counter from Fanta

I remember seeing them a few times in very, very late game TvTs, where there were huge fleets of Battlecruisers + Valks vs. mass wraiths (I think FBH or UpMagic vs. Flash on Chupung Ryeung maybe?)

Light saw 2 ports, so he thought Fantasy was going to try to clear his contain with wraiths, so he made a valk to counter wraiths which never really came
On March 03 2010 14:22 Noxide wrote: It's worth building if opponent has a lot of wraiths and you are down on the wraith count compared to theirs.
Yeah, but that's what I don't really understand, since Light had much earlier wraiths than fantasy and was (I think?) ahead in wraiths at the time. I would have thought he could have just kept producing wraiths to keep ahead of Fantasy, and then the Wraiths are good vs. tanks and stuff whenever there aren't any enemy wraiths around.
I guess building the valk lets him feel safe in his aerial dominance while diverting more gas toward tanks and less toward wraiths.

Fantasy had built two ports, while Light was only on one. Light scouted them with a cloaked wraith. He then built a valk, presumably expecting large numbers of wraiths.

the game was even up until the end
Well technically Fantasy had the advantage when he sieged up Lights natural. Light came back with wraiths and got Fantasy's natural. Guess it was pretty even after that.
Light loses a lot of SCVs to vult harass + dropship at the same time, tries to pull a Skyhigh by defending with SCVs but Canata focuses his undivided attention.
Light and Canata playing at completely different stages of the game. Light is playing lategame dropship play while Canata is still playing as if he only had 2 bases. Because he only has 2 bases.

Haha I know. I had Light on my antiteam at the start of the round. Thankfully I traded him away for Violet while I still could but not before costing me a ton of points. He's really picked up his game plus the maps seem to be good for terran at the moment.
Bisu's zealot is going to town on the bunker, Light cancels it. Bisu's 2nd Nexus is finishing as hyis cybernetics core warps in. Machine shop going down for Light.
Bisu adds on a 2nd barracks while Light's vulture moves across the map for harassment.
Light's vulture gets into Bisu's expansion mineral line, kills two probes, and then slips into the main, where it gets 1 more probe before being picked off by a Dragoon.
Light scans and takes out Bisu's observer in his nat. Light has an early armory and 3 factories down, and also guns down Bisu's 6:00 scouting pylon with a vulture.
Vultures snipe a lot of probes and stop mining at the third while Bisu tries to clean out the mines. Goon finishes one of the tanks while another one stops a vulture from harassing the natural.
Game stabilizes a little. Light starting his 2/1 upgrades and researching EMP, while Bisu is getting out his first arbiter. Both players macroing on 3 base economies.
Light's adding lots and lots of turrets and mines in his main and natural, getting ready to dig his heels in for recalls. If he defends this even half as well as he did vs. BeSt, an all-kill is looking pretty likely.
Ah, Light gets a nice EMP on an arbiter, and the other arbiter only gets 1 tank with his stasis! Bisu runs out of zealots, loses half a control group of goons, and then pulls back to wait for reinforcements. Light meanwhile starts his 4th CC in his 3rd base.
Light trying to get some vulture harass in on Bisu's 4th, but he runs into the army, and then there are cannons already up to protect the probes. Gets 1-3 probes at most.
Bisu going for a break on Light, gets the stasis off on the first vessel, clears out the high-ground, but there are lots of tanks down in the low ground.
After taking massive casualties zealots get into the tank line and kill most of them! A silly spider mine pops and burrows about 10x during the fight.
Light moves in to harass with vultures on Bisu's 3rd. Kills the cannon and lots of probes!
Bisu takes out Light's 4th CC, but he's already rebuilding it in his 3rd base. Bisu has 2 attack upgraded, but Light already has 2/1 finished and is turtling hard.
Bisu dances around on the edge of tank range unnecessarily for a while, takes a lot more damage than he had to. He gets a great stasis off though and might break Light anyways, but meanwhile Light's vultures are killing 6:00!

That might be possible . . . there was a pretty persistent spammer in Roffles' channel earlier.

What a dick, I can tell by all the repeat usernames that appear on the stream. :[ There's like 5 users on the stream with 'aaaaaaa'
if this is one person making lots of windows, its easy to make code to allow only one stream per IP address... or putting a limit like 3 streams per user

This seems really plausible as the second the game starts is when the stream crashes, Mystlord can stream old games all he wants.
And on that note, this game is hilarious. (The one where boxer convinces his opponent he is at a different starting position due to walling there).

I do remember seeing your viewers go to 2000 with a bunch of repeated names in the list right before your stream crashed. Thats just horrible
It would make sense as we can see the viewers just multiply till we hit like 1000 or so and I dont think any stream can take that much constant traffic as when TL kept crashing during Movie vs Flash and Jaedong vs Flash finals.
Wow it looks like Light is going to win. Bisu's mined out, Light still has stuff in the bottom right, but it's barely anything. Light also starting ot mine at 12:00

The problem with playing this style Bisu went for where you burn zeal/goon armies cost inefficiently to retain map control is that you need to be able to secure additional bases. Light never came across his side of the map and just denied 12/6 for the win.

Also, what is with Best and Bisu not using High Templars? Light almost always clumps his tanks together..
Bisu will probably blame this on map imbalance. However, he let Light do too much damage with all of his harass. If Bisu shored up his defense a little, he would have won.

Man Light. He's so good now, much better than a year ago. Who woulda thunk? And MBC is just using their extremely complicated 'Play Light First' strategy... it seems too predictable but Light just beats everyone anyways.

huh? Light was always a solid top 6 Terran for the last 3 years and always put up half decent results in the SLs, the problem is he never really shone and never really reached a Ro4 or became a top 3 Terran.

But seriously OMG Bisu's PvT failing him once again. Light is TOO good.
Well shit. I had Light on my FPL last round and he delivered meh points. Now I don't have him on my team anymore, and he goes crazy, tearing up everyone and having most points in FPL. FML.
Wasn't even close cuz Light could easily lose his game knowing that Bisu has a ~50% win rate this season, meaning their is no way Bisu could all kill anyone. Looks like SKT's P's are turning into Z's with losing games left & right while having advantage in em.
On March 07 2010 05:53 XiaoJoyce- wrote: Is this the first time SKT T1 performing badly?
Flash also all-kill SKT1.
Game 1 was lame on Best's part. The map was 95% purple with Light's unit. Best had no economy and he just sat inside his base, waiting for Light. Best dragged out the game for an additional unnecessary 10 minutes. Best did this not too long ago against Flash in the MSL semi-finals. Best is becoming the Protoss version of Canata.
Game 4: Great defense versus Bisu's attack and recall. It didn't help Bisu that Light played against Best earlier.
What I don't understand is why SKT1 protoss doesn't make high templars. When they do make templars, they are near dead already.
