Is it stupid? Sure. Does it ultimately matter how the OP is presented as all that matters are the posts that lie therein and the results? Nope. You're implying you're okay with LR threads presented in this format? This op shits all over the image of teamliquid. "HEY, LETS ADD DICKS EVERYWHERE IN A THREAD ABOUT SC <3<3 8==============D"

It lacks the meaningless "predictions" of so many other OPs. The only things missing are game recommendations, a list of maps (easily copy/pasted from the calendar), and a title with long-form team names. Updated results are always the most important, though. Problem is, people don't necessarly want OP of a winner league to be vulgar beyond all description. I don't care about the prettiness, I just don't like meaningless obscenities.

"HEY, LETS ADD DICKS EVERYWHERE IN A THREAD ABOUT SC <3<3 8==============D" asking for someone not to be banned for a bad thread doesn't mean i'm ok with it. i'm saying that even if i don't like the OP, it doesn't warrant a ban. he's a newer poster and tried to help in his own way, and perhaps didn't understand his sense of humor is juvenile and retarded. that's not his fault. if the quality of the OP is so important to you, you should make your own instead of hating on someone else for trying and failing. once again, no thread was made fifteen minutes into the broadcast and the guy who took the initiative did not know how to code and did not understand TL posting standards of a LR. in my book that's not worth requesting a ban over

And why are other ACE players more likable for being old, washed up and sucking? i think more players should join ace early if they can. military service is gonna get you sooner or later, but if you let it get you too late in your career then it will be really hard to transition from military life back to your old civilian job. if you go early, you can come back and still try to continue your previous career, starcraft or not. Going to ACE isn't the problem I have with Ruby. The fact that he was a mediocre underachieving player up until then is the problem. He just coasted by. There are so many players who worked way harder than him and are way better. People basically even forgot who Ruby was because he was so useless on MBC until he decided to go ACE. Instead of earning his way into the MBC rotation he just goes off to ACE (as opposed to another team) and now he plays over guys I'd actually like to see. And yes, most of the guys on ACE are old and washed up. But games like Yellow versus Bisu are possible when they play, and it's not like they still don't have some inspiration left in them. I was never a big Xellos or Casy fan but they made a huge impact on the SC scene, much much more than Ruby who's been basically a nobody who showed up on occasion to demonstrate his potential by beating guys like JD (in his first ZvT stretch of dominance) and play other big PL games, then decided to suck again. I'm not that big on nostalgia but there are 11 teams with a bunch of guys who are basically Ruby (mediocre by progaming standards, capable of occasional brilliance) and only 1 with a roster of former Starleague winners, virtually everyone of which has had a huge impact on SC at some point. It's a simple scarcity thing.

I wouldn't mind the dick jokes if I could just skip them and quickly check the results, but with this layout you've got to trudge through the 8===Ds to find the useful information.

It's a simple scarcity thing. well i mean if you hate underacheivers then you should hate a lot of people including savior after his prime, boxer when he had his addiction to women, Sea, Magma (and who can hate magma), Bisu sucking now, every bench player/b team player, etc etc. with Ruby, i like how he threw away the comforts of his old life and joined a more challenging environment. Though it is well documented that practice times and quality are far worse at ACE, the commentators have said many times the his game sense/mechanics seem much sharper with ACE than it was with MBC. Perhpas it is a testament for a new attitude he has on life? A lot of people, not just starcraft players, do this: join the military to learn a more disciplined style of living. Maybe Ruby realized that living like he used to would not help his career, and with military service being mandatory, it would be more productive to tackle the challenge head-on and use it as an opportunity to better his career. i've noticed you kinda classify all ACE players the same: players on the downside who have the potential to randomly take a game from well-known players. If your expectation of ACE is merely that, then yeah, I guess a player like Ruby doesn't really fit. But I honestly think that the days of ACE being a second-life for washed up players is going to end, as seen by someone like Ruby, and to a lesser extent, Much. I hope Ace will be a place for ambitious but underachieving players to get their share of the spotlight and have the responsibilities of playing the best players, something they won't get as seldom-used snipers for their old teams.

It's a simple scarcity thing. So you are angry that going to ACE motivated Ruby to become good? You can't deny that since going to ACE he has played some of the best starcraft of his career. I mean hell, I enjoy watching the old guys play as much as you do but its nice for ACE to have a fall-back guy to rely on so they don't get AK-ed every single time and I for one think its awesome when Ruby does well seeing that he had almost no experience in high pressure situations before moving to ACE and suddenly making a big splash, when most of the time its the other way around with veteran players fizzling out. Moreover when PL switches back to its normal format you'll have a chance to see 3 other guys duke it out along side Ruby should they decide to use him. -.- Just be happy for ACE like the rest of us!
