I must admit, out of the few remaining matches that this round still has to offer, MBC vs. WeMade is the one I was least looking forward to. MBC and WeMade are currently strongly mediocre, and there are only a few players I want to see playing. Who do we have? Baby, Mind, and Midas on WeMade, whereas MBC has Light and Sea. There's a common denominator among these players, maybe you can spot it. Then picture me waking up 5'o clock in the morning just to watch nearly hour long TvT-s that drag on worse than my feet during the rest of the day.
Good times. Fortunately, the match takes place in the afternoon for me, so I'm lucky at least in that regard. And the gods of Fate must have smiled on me again, since this section is thankfully infinitely easier due to Taosu's wonderful graphs!
Pure and Baby look a lot more dominant than Sea and Light in this round, and the overall numbers (even though they are tied this round) seem to favor WeMade as well. On the other hand, WeMade had a miserable week in the individual leagues. Even though Baby at his best will probably defeat Sea in the long run, Baby has shown holes in his play, and is generally way more inconsistent than his MBC counterpart. This does not apply to the Protoss and Zerg lines of the teams, as sad as it may be for MBC fans. While WeMade's Pure, Shine and RorO can be relied on, Tyson, Hyun, and Saint usually enter the game this season as the underdog. Finally, MBC's final Light of hope should be capable of dispatching Mind, but I fear this will not be enough. In total, 4-2 WeMade.
could be worse? I think that banner is much better than the one with the stadium. Although the soul logo looks off.
As for the actual game, its a competition between my 2nd and 3rd least favortie teams (with KT being least obiously) and the only player I care remotely about is Baby.

What do you mean by the "soul logo looks off"? Maybe I can change it?

Its got some vertical stretching.
Unless my source is bad (which could very well be true), it doesn't.
I'll stream if I'm awake but I'm doubtful I will be.
It's turned on, but it might freeze while I'm asleep. Someone will have to ask an admin to mark my stream as on and relaying the event if I don't wake up, since I don't have the option yet.
Two of the league's most Terran-dependent teams going head to head, expecting a rather cheesy night with people pulling proxy 2-facts, 4-pools (lol yes perhaps Shine or Hyun is going to try it), and of course, straight epic failure lulz from Jaehoon.
DT attacks the scvs in the nat, they transferred too soon. They are once again retreating untol a turret can go up. Major scans while building a turret there.
Ebay in the red after trying to float into jaehoon's nat and running into goons. It reaches Major's base safely but is not reapired and burns down.
This is what happens when terrans get too harass happy. You lose tons of vultures and don't have any mines set up forward of your position, and you have fewer tanks as well.

Meh, it was soooooo obvious that he would go for an early Ling attack after he produced 6 Lings to kill the SCV. Very bad game by Saint, not much he did made sense.

Mind did a good job at fending attempts off, and starved the poor guy. Saint really had no other choice, IMO.
Yeah, I don't think it would have worked regardless, but it just felt really odd that he made all that ling so early and did nothing with them. Felt like he should have tried a ling muta bust when the mutas arrive.

He tried to lure the rines away, but to no avail. Must have thought he'd have a better chance with lurkers.

Yeah, but still he should have tried to bust as soon as the Mutas came out. What was his goal? He had ~15 drones vs. constant SCV production from two CCs.
Did he really think he can just build a Hydra Den, make 6 Hydras, run across the map, morph them to Lurkers and kill a Terran who was sitting on 2 unharrassed bases all that time?

By the way, your source must be bad. you can check stx soul's homepage and compare the horizontal-vertical ratios.

Sea is unable to expo to the nearest 3rd with Baby's tanks on the cliff nearby.
Baby drops 4 vultures in Sea's nat. Sea pulling some units to deal with them. Baby using this opportunity to push on Sea's front but it backfires, loses the units and his position.
Sea with his own wraiths now, attacking baby's tanks.
Wraith battle ensues, no cloak for either player. Sea comes out on top with 1 wraith. It is currently attacking some tanks. Another wraith joins it shortly.

BaBy is not focus firing with his siege tanks, thats why he's losing every fight.
No way Sea can win this, its a pity, because the fact that he is still in this game proves that he is the better player.
edit: ok, it does not, i take it back! but his control has been so much better, its just a pity it didnt pay off enough

mm i wouldn't go that far
Well ^_^ I guess saying he is the better player when he is losing is quite contradictive, but he is indeed superior in SOME aspects, but those aspects obviously weren't the preferred ones for this game

he certainly had superior control this game, and there are definitely things he's better at generally

No, you're just wrong. This almost always happens in TvT (to a lesser extent in other matchups) when one players gets a huge macro advantage and only has to ride it out. If the positions were reversed, I can almost guarantee that Baby would have seemed to have the better micromanagement.
kirg1: sea should have sent like 2-3 vults to each corner of the map way earlier since all those bases were unprotected pretty much twiskatr: baby should just rush sea's tanks with 5 groups of firebats what: i would have a decent chance of winning this game if i took over for baby efefe: baby playing like a total spaz but his opening just wrecked sea with the delay confettiZerg: he doesn't even have drop ships efefe: baby basically made sea look like a *** for the first 5 minutes then just ran in circles giggling for the next 15
Baby had vastly superior control for the first 5 minutes and ran circles around Sea. Then, for the next 15 minutes, Baby just ran in circles but eventually bumped into and trampled Sea anyway.

i thought it was clear that my point was regarding still being in this certain game, in this certain situation (being in the game as in having a shot, not as in refusing to surrender). but it was a stupid statement, lets end this discussion
The problem with thsee games is that the player with the Proxy Expo will do anything but showing his superior economy. For maximazing the eco advantage he will stall as long as humanly possible and thus these games are always long and annoying.

quite new to sc1 are ya? one player having twice the amount of bases and still struggling to finish the game is not a common tvt, for christ sake, baby was not even focusing tanks with his tanks, he was shooting mines and vultures. if theres any kind of distinguishing feature of a standard tvt game its the map being cut-off with tanks and dropships roaming, where they are pretty equal on bases, maybe in favor of someone depending on who wins the standoffs mate.

and that attack on the main was very clever, cuz pure didnt have enough sairs to defend the 3rd expo. Yes he lost many mutes but his econ was more better to sustain more mutas.
VERY GG from HyuN!
(yes and iam cheering for fox, hoping for epic ACE match.)

It almost looked as if Pure was surprised that Sea would Bunker rush him. As if that wasnt a normal response. But it really looked like he didnt know what to do with his probes. He can either run them to main for an Eco game while the Terran wastes his ressources on Bunker, Marines and no mining with SCVs or fight with them to keep Nexus alive. He did some weird in-between stuff, losing a lot of Probes without coming close to keeping the Nexus alive.
The second big mistake was the Proxy Nexus. If you do that, you hope that your opponent will be lazy with scouting. A player who just got that done to him 1 hour ago will be anything except for being lazy with scouting, he will be paranoid to prevent that from happening again.
The only good thing from Pure was his Reaver Micro. It was even brilliant, but that wasnt enough to keep him in the game.

Did you understand what I mean now?
Baby doesn't "constantly ownz MBC's Terrans". He's 3-1 over Sea only after today's win and 2-3 against Light.
