C. Four randomly selected players are forced to play in a 2v2 Team Melee match. The map is randomly chosen by the administrator. A random number of points is awarded for the winning team.
edit... D. Up to eight randomly selected players are forced to play in a "race wars" melee match against each other. The map is randomly chosen by the administrator (could be a non-iccup map). A random number of points is awarded for the winning team. Nice suggestions ^^ However I think it will be hard to coordinate things with more than 2 people, and I want to stick to 1v1 format for this tournament and not let things get TOO crazy haha xD I could definitely try to set up a show match of some sort with all this randomness.
Keep the suggestions coming!
EDIT: I'll be online from time to time as [RSL]Admin. Feel free to ask me questions, make suggestions, issue complaints!

Another suggestion:
E. (Assuming some matches at some time will be live obs'd or live casted) During some match that is being observed/casted by the admin/casters, the observer makes the following announcement to the players at the beginning of the game: "IT IS A GOOD DAY TO DIE!!!"
Then, at a random time of the observer's choosing, the observer announces, "ROLL THE DICE!!!" The first player who can make a decent-looking die on the minimap by moving their units and/or building buildings in position (similar to pylon hearts) gets bonus points. The amount of bonus points must be worth it to warrant possibly throwing the game as their opponent can still attack them during this time. The die would probably have to be in the middle of the map somewhere (pre-constructed dice in starting mains are not valid). Extra points if the die is made up of only buildings instead of units (difficult for zerg, may not be possible on some maps). Extra points for a higher number shown on the die (i.e. 'six' is better than 'one'). The player making an attempt for this bonus must type in "TIME TO DIE" when they wish for their creation to judged. The judging observer may wish to screenshot the game at that time so that the player can get back to fighting or expanding immediately.

Hahahahaha snap that's ridiculous okay if I can organize a live event then I will certainly do it!

!!! VERY IMPORTANT !!!
I had to re-do some passwords for certain accounts. They will allow you to log in to ICCup but not onto TheAbyss.
IF YOU HAVE THIS ISSUE, PLEASE PM ME ASAP AND I WILL FIX IT ASAP.
IMPORTANT EDIT: I can only fix the ones that can't log in at all by giving you a new account. There seems to be a global ICCup issue where changing the password on the server does not work - which is why people who have passwords like "sdfkjnksd" can't log in because I had to reset those passwords and the change has not been implemented on the server.
TL;DR: If you can log in but can't change password, please be patient and try tomorrow, there is nothing I can do.
If you can't log in to the server at all, please PM me and I will give you a new account.
Thank you! And sorry for the inconvenience.

The whole point of this is for both players to be playing random. There have already been a good amount of games played (just before you logged in too), patience is a virtue ^^
If everyone just signs on and leaves when they don't see anything, of course no games will be played. But if you sign on and wait for 20-30 minutes in window mode, you can easily catch someone else doing the same thing.

This league is fucking random as fuck.

Are you still accepting players?

Omg this sounds awesome, I don't see how anyone wouldn't want to participate!

Yes, it's in the OP. xD
SIGN UPS ARE STILL OPEN; LADDER STAGE HAS BEGUN!
Btw, some players are complaining on the iccup chat that it's hard to find games.

When people are free during winter break from school (and possibly work), I think there will be more games. More people are also signing up. Patience ^^
Suggestions: Try to log on at a different time if you can, wait a little longer when you're online for someone else to come, run the game in wmode until they arrive, host the game ahead of time... These are all things you guys can try to do in order to increase the chances of games in the meantime.
I want to note that even though more people are signing up, only about half of the current member list have even logged on yet (ir's only been 25 hours!). I think that as people have more time to dedicate, we will see more players come online, and therefore more games.
I want to make it also clear that there is 0 chance of an "open" ladder. That would eliminate the point of this league (RvR, all random). If the situation only worsens over the next week or two, let me know; I will try a few things, and if they don't work, I will announce a premature end to the Ladder Stage and only. say. the Top 8 will advance to an earlier Tournament Stage.
Most importantly, try to stay optimistic and patient ^^ Players WILL log on, and those that usually just log on and off (I've seen a few unfortunately) will be inclined to stay. Some people played close to 10 games yesterday, I don't think that's so bad.

just like the YSL , this should be an open ladder. But it's ok gl hf everyone playing

I can't play on iCCup or I'd play.

i have a suggestion, to give negative point to one that quit the game before the 1:50, or during the draw time ---> why because you go random, you see the race you got, and you say somethink like: "oh i must go" or "i am sorry was afk can re"
avoiding thinks like this is difficult but we can try

avoiding thinks like this is difficult but we can try I mentioned this before, but just as a reminder to everyone:
I will be reviewing rep packs and looking at the stats on ICCup and BWChart. If someone has too many or too few games with a certain race it will stand out and I will then contact the players against whom the suspected rulebreaker played in order to determine whether he/she violated the rules.
If anyone sees anything suspicious or against the rules, it is your RESPONSIBILITY to contact me so that I may investigate and make an executive decision.
I will try to be as objective and thorough as possible and will publicize all of my decisions for public scrutiny and objection.
BUT like I said before, I think these potential issues will not arise. So far I have seen and heard of nothing but good manner fair play, and fun games!
GLHF everyone!

*** UPDATE ***
Hours since ladder began: 34 Number of players: 33 (Hooray!) Number of players who have played games: 15 Number of games played: 39 Clan ladder position (lol): 10
Hello hello everyone! Having fun yet? ^^
It seems like the pace has picked up over the weekend and we are seeing some more games and players signing up. Keep it up people! I want to take this moment to give a shoutout to the players doing well so far - keep up the good work. I also want to give a BIG shoutout to all the players who are hitting D- and have negative records - DON'T GIVE UP! In a ladder as volatile as this, anything can happen. At this moment, you would all be qualified for the Ro32 *OR* the Ro16 (players with 0 games are not in the running). I will also reveal a small secret - there have been a good amount of D/C rank sign-ups as well as games played in the past 12 hours. Also, a D+ player beat a B- player. As the amount of players rises, so does the level of representation of each skill level. I also think that this is a league where it can't be that upsetting to lose - remember to play for FUN!
I want to give a huge shoutout to everyone who has signed up and an even bigger one to everyone who has been playing games - thank you all! I was very excited about this league idea and I'm glad you have taken it in stride.
In other news the top names from the previous polls have been put together into one new one. I will provide an etymology and definition for a random number of them, starting from the top down (by vote) I have also made a new poll with all the new aliases, and I will do maybe the top one or two from that poll as well.
Vote away!

RANDOM MINIEVENT!!
At a random time (in terms of hours since the league began, + or - a few in case I am asleep or busy >_>) there will be random minievents. The nature of them is like the name - mini; small relevant things.
The condition of release is also random - never release, release, poll, and other options.
This hour's mini-event is a poll on whether or not the average max rank of the current player pool should be revealed.
+ Show Spoiler [Poll] +Poll: Release average max rank?RANDOM! (5) 71% Yes (2) 29% No (0) 0% Indifferent (0) 0% 7 total votes Your vote: Release average max rank? (Vote): Yes (Vote): No (Vote): Indifferent (Vote): RANDOM!
