What about the koreans? ;p Aren't there supposed to be 4-8 of them? Savior / Oov etc?
|
I couldn't find it on IEST's website but I did put it on the bottom of that post about what Reps.ru reported.
|
isn't Phoenix66 the same person as SoZ.66 ?

Is Leg active these days (since WCG)?

if Draco wins, this could do very well for his progaming career.

Pretty exciting , I hope forsome really good games .

Only 1 zerg player though ?!

even with koreans draco will definetly get a spot on the podium!

If Reach/YellOw are going, awesome. They may slump in Korean leagues but at least they can own foreign tournaments [blizzcon, WWI] :D and look good doing so.
|
If Reach or YellOw don't win this, they should just retire.
|
With Reach and YellOw in this I make the following predictions:
Terran Ehome.Super (Lose to Reach, Can beat YellOw) mYm.Advokate (Lose to Reach, Lose to YellOw) SoZ.66 (Phoenix) (Lose to Reach, Can beat YellOw (Smaller Chance))
Zerg mYm.F91 (Can beat Reach, ZvZ is up in the air so can beat YellOw) Protoss mYm.Draco (Not sure of his PvP, but his PvZ might beat YellOw) Legionnaire (PvP = Yea! PvZ = Not Sure)

Every match is bo3,so I don't think others have chance when they face to the top korean progamer.

My take~
Terran - considering YellOw/Reach vs T is their strongest matchup, and they were both once best in world at it, I don't think any foreign T can take them in bo3.
Zerg mYm.F91 -one game, maybe, but not a bo3. Protoss mYm.Draco - I don't know how he's doing now, but I suppose he has best chance of all gamers listed so far. I still think Reach and YellOw should crush him handily. Legionnaire - against Reach's PvP? not much chance. PvZ his is good, I think, to take a game from YellOw.
|
go leg and draco!, and reach! :p, i dont know how nc yellow has been doin latley, but i would almost expect reach to win... i am hoping for some upsets however from draco or leg! it would be like an early christmas present, KIND OF. gogo

super can definitely beat yellow.

it is reach and yellow.
and once again they are nice zerg maps so i'll put yellow over reach if they play.
and i hope both zergs get put in the other side of the bracket, i'd much rather take on reach than yellow.
|
this tourney sounds awesome. too bad there's not a couple other players like mondi and testie but it's kind of cool without them too.
|
After seeing his ODT performance, I'm not so sure Yellow will be able to win this.
|
i hope there will be some fun 2v2 tour too ;d
|
What will be happening with replays?
|
$20k for a small tourny like this?
Wow o_O

Well, China is becoming a rich country (not people), no problem in giving $35k only for SC

vs top korean progamers? :S YellOw has the worst percentage in top 30 apparently, or one of the worst, while Reach has been in a mega slump. In their current conditions, they can lose games
|
a win vs man toss? are you fucking retarded? but versus the all time suck bitch then maybe just maybe..
btw, are they still doing the china vs korea games this year?
|
no one can beat yellow and reach...it'll be a final between these 2
|
Nah. Yellow is very beatable, especially PvZ. He's smarter than them by far, and still a better player. But his macro occasionally (often) slips. So that if he cannot abuse these tosses with his superior intelligence and timing, he may get run over by a big army.
|
reach is quite unbeatable by non korean imo, he has solid macro and micro, his weakness is timing and not many foreign can strike when he's vulnerable
|
reach has only lost one official game vs a foreigner in the history of bw (and he played plenty of them considering all the special events he played) and it was vs Mondragon in his prime where mondie just raped the living out of any other protoss. So i dont think he will loose vs anyone.
|
35 000 $ ? YOu must be joking ! For WCG wasnt so much ! lol....
|
Holy shit, nice price money

But this is still a lot. 8 players 35k.
WCG 50 players and about 50k in prizes all together for bw?

yellow macro is trash compared to pros these days but vs these plays he can take on double exp from terran with only his nat ~defiler god
|
Then don`t ask why Yellow,Oov,Reach are slumping... They do this on purpose to get invited for Blizzcon,IEST so the money there are equal to this in MSL/OSL and it`s easier

YellOw > Reach (unfortunately) YellOw > F91 ... YellOw > Draco ...

I think I'm starting to love china, I hope they make more tourneys like this, it's awesome!
I think that Draco, Reach and maybe a2 or super... or maybe yellow, I don't know will make it to the top 3 - That's all that I can predict.
|
Yellow cheap tactics are still good enough for many foreigners in my opinion. Hopefully... because I really would like to see Yellow win SOMETHING. It's been too long since Shinhan 1.
|
i think draco will own yellow, since draco plays really safe and macro @ the same time ;;
|
It depends on the maps naranjo. If it's more strategy like LT then Yellow will most likely take it down with ease. On Rush Hour or Luna I can see him losing fairly.
|
Draco can conpete with a Korean Terran as shown in WCG, but we don't know if he can compete with a korean toss or zerg!
But, If Junwi took down Draco with ease, 2-0 in qualifiers, so did Hamzi, I think Yellow has a good chance too?
Reach, is a beast in PvP, no comment And, he defeated AnyTime last week in proleague!

agreed with testie. imo think its about strategy more... and the maps that are being played. i dont want to downplay draco's pvz, and i havnt seen it latley, as much as i think hes a good / talented player i am NOT SURE, if he will be good enough to beat yellow. but in saying that, go leg/draco/reach

Yeah, 2004. You haven't seen him play yesterday, I guess ; his PvZ was far from being top-notch and if he plays like that in IEST, then it's not sure at all he will win over YellOw.

TT's record isn't that bad... Sure Yellow sorta sucks now but TT isn't bad. He's as good as Draco I'd say. Probably better -_-;;
|
Hah, lets hope so. Hasn't he been a pro for ages? But if you want to diminish a gamers skill with opponents he lost to TT seems to be one of the best choices. (bad bad english there=( )
|

imo.f91 has no chance when he face to reach.
and super has a good chance to defeat yellow if he has good shape.
|
Reach or Yellow should take this.
Reach because he is a bully to foreigners, Yellow because of his strategic mind.
A lot of this will depend on the maps.
I don't think the Koreans will lose, maybe drop a game here or there, but despite their recent professional performances they are still damn good gamers who have accomplished a great deal.
They have had the luxury of practicing 12 hours a day with some of the best gamers in the world and to play on television regularly. I think they will have nerves of steel going into this.
I'm going to say Yellow steals the finals in dramatic fashion, but all the foreigners will play very well, and there will be some exciting games.

Why don't they invite UHJOO???? I want to see XellOs poon some foreigners. T_T. They always do these tournaments when the YellOw and Reach are no in any individual tournaments, that's why they always get invited to these things. Heh.

Game 2 he beat fake yellow XD
but yeah, game 1 was pretty bad. and game 3 was worse T-T
I thought 3rd place for EVER was pretty fun, worst top pro PvZ versus worst top pro ZvP. Nice games, still. [game 2 inspired the zealot = manly comment]
1st place for EVER... and semis for ever... not so pretty. bunker rush > yellow, then oov trounced boxer, and also reach. [reach vs oov was crazy good pvt games, beating oov in a straight up macro game on mercury... wow]

As i said, today (as in 1 hour ago) is th eonly time we've had a decent internet cafe. Which still can't connect to bnet. And lags on other servers pretty bad. On top of that its cracked with some weird sounds that drive me insane so i have to play without headsets. "STOP, haj im in kae" "STOP STOP" "somethingorother else" whenever you do particular sc commands.
Draco's been talking about his time in korea, and his mental attitude seems really good. I think he will do very well.

i would not underestimate A2's tvt. That's his best mu which gives him good chances to make it to the semis. Tho he will never win over Yellow. No chance at all. So my picks are: A: Yellow, A2 B: Reach, (hard) Draco which will lead to the Yellow-Reach finals (again).

Why are people so terrified of Yellow and Reach now? I really think that the foreigners have a strong chance in this. Aside from Reach's pure manhandling of Anytime, the two hasn't pulled off anything impressive in awhile. =( Sad to say since I'm a huge Yellow and Reach fan but meh, pessimistic about this.

wtf?! Are you kidding?! Yellow was in the semifinals for OSL this year (in summer). And he lost to Casy - the tvz monster with a score of 2:3. No way ANY of these terrans will defeat Yellow. And Reach is just always godly. I can't believe you people saying these things.

Thanks, Musli. What do you think about Draco's chances in PvP against Reach? It seems to me PvP is Draco's weakest MU after PvT and PvZ..

is it just me or Leg's icon does look like a jumping animal?

PvZ is his weakest, but after more training with twins it should get better. He has some good PvP'ers in team too so I think it should be better now. Draco is creative enough, so after timing and micro lessons with ZeuS it should be enough to be able to beat Reach, but PvP as well as other mirrors depend on one moment, one dragoon more etc so its always one way ticket. Its not a shame to lose a PvP against progamer, cuz one mistake is enough to make you lose.

He is manipulating a part of the sentence you dont expect him to. He is stressing a different word. Out of context it makes sense, but I think it was a joke.

How? Unless you are stating that there are antonyms in the sentence, then that's not really relevant
It isn't really a result of hot->cold, or light->heavy. It is due to stressing certain words.
Testie is basically claiming (assuming I understood correctly) that nothing is impossible is not true; in other words that |nothing is not impossible|.
If you stress the word nothing, as is the standard interpretation:
nothing is not impossible
You end up with a resultant sentence including the antonym of nothing, which is something:
something is impossible
correcting for grammar, we get the statement that some things are impossible.
If you instead stress the word impossible:
nothing is not impossible
we end up with the antonym of impossible; which is possible:
nothing is possible
A rather absurd interpretation, but valid outside of context. This is why I believe it is a joke.
Antonyms are being used, but they are replacing which ever word is being stressed. Since this is an online conversation, and words cannot be vocally stressed - Try it yourself: say nothing is impossible out loud and see which word you place the most emphasis on - there is a gray area which is being exploited in the second interpretation.
Antonyms then are the method, while stress provides the reason.
EDIT: Also note that antonyms concern word pairs and not statement pairs.

Draco left Sparkyz?
In today's games he was using Nal_Draco not Sparkyz Draco

Draco is still on the Sparkyz roster, just not on proleague actives.
Probably just habit of using Nal_Draco.

i dont really wana go off topic, but can we still call reach mantoss? supposidely he lost to leg on purpose, if that is true, what is so manly about that? as much as i wanted reach, draco or leg to win, i think losing on purpose is more womenly.
