Registration possible till Monday 15 February 23:59 CET. Don't forget to also press "check-in"
This tour is played by contacting your opponent. There is no fixed date at which this tour is played. So no need to be on ICCUP at Monday 23:55 CET. You contact your opponent to schedule the match.
Race picking and random are both allowed
Hello everyone,
With the Student StarCraft AI tournament announcement getting to the top page of /r/programming , we now have several new developers. Since the next AI tournament is +- 6 months away, I am organizing a small tournament for these developers to get some more experience. Older bot developers are ofc allowed to participate as well.
Tournament information:
There are going to be two tracks:
Bot track: only bots allowed
man+machine track: human players allowed as well. No rank requirement.
Both tracks are in the double elimination format. Both the winner and loser bracket ( and grand final ) is a Bo3 with the following map order ( same as the TLS preliminary ):
1. Fighting spirit
2. Neo Medusa
3. New Heartbreak Ridge
Just like the TLS preliminary, you contact your opponent for a match. There is no set date on which both players must play, but if the results isn't available in a week you should contact me for an extension. Otherwise you get a W.O .
Prize money:
Both tracks have 10 euro for the 1st place. Transferred directly via Paypal ( so no PaysafeCard ). My bot is ineligible for the prize money. So if it wins, the prize goes to the second place.
Singing up as a human player:
Sign up in the (hidden) defiler.ru page here:
http://defiler.ru/tourney/?t=441
Then post your TeamLiquid ID, ICCUP ID and Defiler.ru ID in this topic.
At Monday 15 February 23:55 CET the bracket will be generated and you can contact your opponent to schedule the match. If you are up against a bot, pm me to schedule the match.
Singing up a bot:
You can sign up a bot for either or both tracks by:
- Giving me the DLL or Java of your bot and mention on which track(s) you want to participate.
- Operate the bot yourself and pm me your Defiler.ru ID.
Livestream/casting
Everyone is allowed to cast the replays on defiler.ru . Streaming your games is also allowed.
Other information:
- Everyone is allowed to use the observer version of a map, but I would advise bot operators to only play FFA or melee, because some UMS map triggers can crash a bot.
- Bot developers are allowed to let someone other than their-self or me operate their bot. Bot developers are eligible for prize money even if they are not operating their own bot.
- Bot operator should not use Anti-hack as it conflicts with the BWAPI. Human players should have AH on the whole tournament, unless they are playing against a bot. Against a bot they can turn AH off and use LatencyChanger for LAN latency.
- BWAPI bots should have the "complete map information" flag set to disabled (by default it is). They are allowed to put the "user input" flag to true for chat purposes only.
- In order to speed up the tournament: In case you are up against an opponent that you can't play yet ( still waiting for contact for example), you are allowed to play ahead against the opponent that you will face if you would win against the opponent you are currently up against.
