We are some lucky f**ks to still have this in 2016, eighteen years after release. Even if this one is gonna be a Protoss-fest.

No, never wrong to be enjoying and basking in the glory that is brood war. I will never stop being hyped about brood war. This game will never die, we will always be here.

How about you enjoy the fact we get a free top level Korean BW cast in English from people who do actually know what they're talking about. "Oh no they mentioned SC2, this is ruining my nostalgic immersion because they are helping people who've never watched pro BW more than a handful of times WHICH IS THE FUCKING MAJORITY OF THE GSL STREAM!!! Im so sick and tired of this stupid broodwar vs SC2 bullshit. People need to grow the fuck up. RANT OVER. The guy literally doesn't know some basic build orders, though. It's not a "boldfaced lie".

This day 3 bring me the probw days experience, sooo goood. Typical free losses, and great play by rush. In one of the previous tournaments, he showed incredible army management vs zero, but lacked on game knowledge and lost. Hope he achieve at least ro8 this time.

That being I only watched a few of their casts together and I enjoy Rapid's solo casts.

Rapid has done a great job so far, given that he has probably never followed BW

What I mainly dislike about their cast is especially the many SC2 references ( even though it's a bit toned down compared to the first season of ASL). Some are fine, especially if they talk about Rain, Soulkey and other players who also became succesful in SC2. Mostly when people say they dislike Artosis for his game knowledge I can't follow, because as said before I was never that big into broodwar until last year. But I can understand this. I think though, that we should cut Rapid some slack. Yes he followed BW once, but we don't know if he has ever since. Also he is not contracted to Afreeca to cast ASL. He is just subbing in for Tasteless. Artosis on the other hand should be better. Considering he was a pro for many years. I think this duo works well, but could work even better if Rapid had someone casting with him who has deep game knowledge, because he can easily do color commentary. That he knows the game at all and trivia/history about players became obvious the last broadcasts. I think though that Tasteless will be more up to date with the meta and game than Artosis so I'm looking forward to their cast

I kind of doubt it. He was never the "deep knowledge" guy, neither in BW nor in SC2. His SC2 casts were all about passion and the chemistry with Artosis. He often got things wrong. So I expect him to do the same in BW, especially when he didn't play nor watch it for years. Maybe he will teach me a lesson though. If he does, I will be a happy man.

Honestly, I don't know which Tasteless we will get. I just hope, considering that you could physically feel his passion for BW last ASL, that he put a lot of work into following BW more and learning more about the current meta. If he did, I think Tastosis will work very well in BW, though they probably would need to switch up their commentary roles (usually Artosis with the knowledge and Tasteless with the color commentary).

No, it was Tasteless. Tasteless had 10 years of Brood War experience. This was before Day9.

As was said above, Day[9] was known for his in-depth analysis. Tasteless was known (and is known) specifically for his lack thereof. He's known for his extremely entertaining casting style and chemistry with co-casters.

If you like 'em, listen to 'em. If you don't, there's these two others guys named BisuDagger and FlashFTW who are pretty good (though those two need to equalize their mic levels... FlashFTW is consistently waaay louder). Guess what I'm sayin' is, isn't it nice to have choices?
