I watched this tournament because I started playing starcraft when SC2 came out and BTTV was casting it so it was a nice way to introduce me to SCR/BW. I imagine many others who watched the tournament are similar. Crime organizations and drug dealers deal gateway drugs because its a tried and true method to get people hooked onto their harder stuff (and then make more money). Game communities also need gateway casters and content to get more people interested and grow. The impression that this subforum is giving off is that like the moment there are 'inexperienced' or less knowledgable content produced they get ridiculed and heavily criticized, which obviously will not help the scene. For those that don't like what BTTV is doing, I dont see any of them running their own tournaments?? Lastly, its weird to ban LastScan because he has access to more 'facilities' and its unfair. The best thing to happen in the SC2 scene was during HOTS when all the Koreans started to play on the EU servers and tournaments. All the foreign pros admitted a year or so after that transition that at first, while the koreans were unbeatable, that regular exposure was what helped the foreign pros close the gap and finally become competitive against the korean players. In the end, maybe the prize pool could be distributed in a flatter format (40/30/20/10 for top 4). Or something like that. Banning all koreans from tournaments will only have the effect of suffocated the foreign scene. No one gets good playing in their own kiddie pool in isolation.

Well played Rifkin, you have proven your quality once more. I think your responses speak for themselves, I have nothing more that I want to show the court of public opinion. public opinion is that you act like entitled little asshole that can't back up his arguments with facts when asked to. Instead uses personal attacks to reflect anything thrown at him. that good enough for you?

Real professional Aside from that? Kick ass job organizing a broodwar tournament, the community needs people willing to do these things. Great show in your stream, great prize money. All around good job just work on your PR skills pls you got banned? really? give me your Twitch name - I'm mod for BTTV and I can check it. also I was in chat during cast and it was calm, don't remember anyone getting banned and certainly not for such a stupid thing as you claim. I hope you can back up your claim - I know I can.

All around good job just work on your PR skills pls i subscribe to this perspective. i consider their periodic PR debacles to be the comedy part of the show. Sometimes, they turn an anthill of twitch user dissent into a mountain of reddit hate. LOL. These indy twitch.tv streamers deal with a lot of BS so their default position is the insta-ban. Over the years , some of those quick-trigger-finger instabans were prolly unfair. Then the unfairly insta-banned people all get together on reddit and stir up shit whenever anything negative about BTTV is in the threads. It makes for some good comedy. i'll bet you this 207 guy was instabanned for something borderline. he'll prolly be on reddit upvoting anything negative about BTTV.
