second game: lol 4 pool. Protoss should've just ran workers away, bot follows then he runs back when cannon is done. Bingo

not true. the AI has sent zergling scouts to the expos

Yea but a better protoss would have smashed it too pieces before that point I think. No chance for human boy now unless AI suddenly has micro errors
this is so true. The AI went 4 pool and did 0 damage the expanded and still kept making units. If the player actually went in for the kill before mutas, he would've easily won this...

Hmm. Seems a little early for that. I think even if the AI was doing that it has enough early game vulnerabilities it could cause problems. It's also not smart enough with muta's in certain aspects right now. That said, in certain positions I think this AI can already be unbeatable, even if it's Bisu or Flash playing.
Of course, I'll only be fully impressed when the AI can win with decision making, and not by abusing god tier micro that no human could ever do.

A progamer would not be able to defeat a swarm of individually microed mutas.

Absolutely agree.
Just don't think a player of that caliber would have ever given that AI a chance to touch a muta.

The first guy was 1100 mmr.
WTF. That's nuts for 1100. Looks like he could have been D+ at least.
Maybe for 1100 it wasn't bad but it felt really lacking. Still, he would've been around 1500 here I think. His macro was lacking on 2 base, that's pretty bad.
I'm kinda hoping the players aren't allowed to see what happened before, or else I ultra super cannot explain what toss just did. 1500 isn't amazing, but should be good enough to learn and adapt to an AI that can't go up chokes.
This AI doesn't even micro the lings. Literally not much different from CPU in so far as I can tell. No pull back versus zlots, no tricks or avoidance of drills, etc.

ya possibly, not sure. Also lol, lost to 4 pool again.

Yet still too much for stupid human players who haven't realized its only strategy.

while I agree that he could've defended much better, I think you are being overly harsh. These guys are probably extremely casual players that have rarely faced bio in PvT or even 4 pool etc...

This fucking idiot.
Guess we see what Stork does versus AI 2. If he doesn't do something blatantly safe we can assume people aren't allowed to see games. Still, human lost with probes and a popping zlot to 4 lings with 2 rallied...ouch.

Imo there is nothing extremely casual about 1500. I don't think you can get there without playing a good amount of starcraft with some level of thought.

you can play a couple of games, 2 gate and win half then you're back at close to 1500 lol. Again, keep in mind that I doubt they've faced bio PvT or much 4 pool

I dunno. Even to 2 gate with effectiveness you have to be able to have basic mechanics, decision making, etc. Maybe if you proxy 2 gate all day long, but even then you have to make that work against other 1500 players. I don't think anybody that could hold D on iccup was especially casual, and I doubt a true D on ICCup could 2 gate their way to D+/C-, which seems to be around what 1500 is.

Not dodging storms is a problem. Vultures won't be that scary against goons, you still have to trade shots. The harass possibility is utterly terrifying, but don't think AI has decision making for dangerous early harass.

maybe, not sure tbh. D as in D or D+? I was pretty casual at borderline D+ so I'm sure someone else can do better lol.

Stork should be able to kill the first two. The third one is still impossible. How do you kill individually microed units?
don't let it get to the point whee they have a huge muta flock?
Did you see the individually microed marines? It was crazy.
all the guy needed was 2 storms. Those marines were clumped up like mad and it was glitching. Yes, individually microed is terrifying but it's nowhere as bad since there are clearly issues with tscmoo as well.

You have to reveal it to your opponent in the beginning though so they start building lots of defenses. Then you switch back to economics after they are in the dark again. Best mind games.
4 pool for AI is a safe bet against possible opponent's cheese opening ; AI also gains advantage from high APM making it possible to catch up in macro while micro perfectly still.

Tscmoo, ZZZK and CherryPi all have multiple builds. Because they're not letting them learn here, you're just seeing the default builds. Apparently this version of tscmoo has a very silly default ZvP.
humanity was saved? wtf..... for me the whole event was basically useless to watch and a waste of time. watching 2 random max 1500mmr players makes no sense. 2 out of 3 bots going for 4 pool makes even less sense. Stork vs MJbot was the only thing resembling a game, except turret placement and micro was pretty bad by MJbot. why wasnt letabot part of it? i tried a long time connecting to the internet through crappy chinese hotel wifi with up to 5 minutes loading time, just to get this post out because this stuff boggles my mind every time there are these AI events.

The new version of my bot is still in development and will make its newest appearance on the SSCAI competitions. The bots were taken from the CIG tournament where the old version of my bot got 4th place.
I'd love to put out the VODs in the Small VOD Thread, but the only source I found is Afreeca.tv and I can't timestamp their VODs the usual way (?t=23m20s or &t=23m20s) . Anyone knows how ? PM me.

hmmm stork saved humanity by beating this new "economic 4 pool" build, it was pretty masterful imo
These students should feel shame, and change their surnames so as not to disgrace their families.
(If, somehow, a Korean student from this competition knows English and finds their way here, please understand that I am joking, and that in the United States, we have a very harsh sense of humor. It is part of our culture, but I want you to know that it means nothing and that should not feel ashamed. Your family should be very proud of you.)

Thanks very much! Definitely some interesting moments I'm also wondering if there was any information on what apm the bots were playing at, especially the first (MJ Bot) and last (Cherry Pi).
