- The BNet server (USWest) doesn't matter once you're in game. (If you can prove otherwise, let me know).
- Your replays in 1.20 on Windows save to your "My Documents" -> "StarCraft" -> "Maps" -> "AutoSave"
- TT1 is noob.

Same here!

If you're an Admin of this tournament, make sure you're logged in. Otherwise, you may want to let an Admin know that their tournament is not published."

Is it going to collide with BSL?

No, I only made Group Stage B & D on sundays, becouse I knew there is no HAY.
Now I'll try to menage BSL Finals for Saturdays.
|
NOTE: This tournament starts TWO (2) HOURS LATER THAN NORMAL.
|
Uh, Schamtoo are you sure about that? Sunday at 21:00.. this thing is going to end 3am and people have to go to work the next day.
|
really bad time
|
I don’t really have a choice. It should only be this one, but with how my weekend is looking and ASL finals that night, it’s gonna be super rough for me to do any earlier.
|
Maybe players can start earlier and you'll just start the cast later? Or someone else to help you administrate to start at 19:00?
|
To be completely honest, I haven't found anyone I'd be comfy leaving my tournament with to admin.
It's just one tournament, as I said before, if people can't play in it, it's a shame; but I don't have much choice here.

Best HAY I've ever seen. So entertaining. Thanks HaN for inviting larva.
|
So a quick post-mortem about HAY15
Big wins: - 750 viewers, biggest since SC:R launch - Avg 350 viewers, even without larva bump, we did amazing. - Larva signed up - Machine signed up - Huge korean scene participation on Twitch - Terr0r's victory over Larva - +$270 for prizepool
Pain points: - Initial trolling of Neonsword breaking the bracket - Trolls making fake accounts to confuse players - Lag ruining Dragon vs Gorynich - Missing coupon codes for Matcherino - Lot of Downtime
Why didn't we have a dedicated admin? I described this a bit in the cast. After a few tweaks on smash.gg it seems that most issues needing an admin resolved themselves and we didn't find an often opportunity for someone to spend their afternoon just sitting around. Larva joining was literally last second, and so I didn't think this would be a big tournament. I also don't like to not pay people for the real boring work of admin work, and since I'm already putting $200 every 2 weeks i don't have many options here.
Why is a caster allowed to lag a game? This is a hard situation, and ZG & I roughly described this during the Gorynich & Dragon game. It's hard to weigh the differences here. Replays don't work well for tournaments. First, the UI is AWFUL for replays with the giant unit window, and it's god damn impossible to get everyone to send their replays in. That said, it makes it a no-win situation of not casting games that lag possibly due to casters, because no one then gets to see games, and casting them with lag makes it less enjoyable and SUPER frustrating for players.
In future: Lag - Ideally if it degrades past 12TRL1, I think in future I will always leave. However, if the game works with that, I think I'll try to stay because... while rough, thats really not much worse than ICCUP used to be, & I'm literally hosting this tournament to watch/cast games. If a player disagrees with that, they're welcome to leave my tournament, however I'm open to discussion here.
Admin - I'm opening up the table to anyone who wants to help out, however i can't guarantee pay. Pref able to speak Korean, but not required. I need someone who can act without overstepping boundaries, but not afraid to ban people from tournaments.
Big thanks: - HaN for getting Larva - SNM for jumping in to help mod/translate if needed - ZombieGrub for casting
Major cheers to the donators: - Caspas, DocHoliday, Tempect, iAVEXi, and Vassilis
Of course, thanks to all the supporters. I got so much praise but it really takes all of us to build this town. <3
edit: here's all the replays I have: https://www.dropbox.com/s/6p9o10hk600bfe2/20180527.rar?dl=0

damn man. I loved this event. you and ZG make a good team. please do more.

The replay issue could be resolved, if it would become necessary to upload the replays on smash.gg in the bracket when reporting the results.

I mean, replays just suck to cast. Everyone streams their games, then everyone in chat knows the outcome, it gets way less viewership in general.
|
Schamtoo thanks for casting/hosting these. I agree, casting from replays would kill the experience. Keep up the good work.
