i thought gaming was such a big thing in korea...why would sports players get out of the army over gaming legends?
and what asian games were you talking about?

if pro gamers got exemptions, then many more entertainers would be entitled to them too. athletes represent korea in international competitions, and if they do very well, it is good for korea too. many olympians and most athletes do not get exemptions
asian games are like summer olympics for asia

Question: Boxer owns that pc cafe. If he wanted to, would he be able to leave Korea and live in USA or somewheres to avoid the military?
And if he was able to avoid the military by moving away, could he come back a year or so later to Korea and live there w/o having togo to the military?
you know he has some money, im sure he can find a roomate in another country and he can live off of his pc cafe and pro team somehow

if boxer runs away, he would have to leave for a very, very long time. however, he doesn't have that much money and would be disgraced. also, he probably doesn't make that much money off his pc cafe, because he's probably a partner, or just licensing his name/image, and would make nothing off his pro team if he left
basically, boxer is going to the army. deal with it

to be duty free, it needs the citizenship. if you evade intentionally, it violates the law and gonna go to jail.

but really tho, i find it unreasonable when US is 'helping' the nations that do not want US's 'help'.

learn what the fuck you're talking about.
Taiwan wants _NO_ help from the usa, especially considering Bush is siding with the president elect Son Pan, who wants Taiwan to go BACK to China. Only the elders think it would be good for taiwan if they went back to the control of china, for the simple reason that they think it would be good for the "economy"...
Why would any taiwanese people want to be communist?
Its obvious, they don't. I think I'm someone who would know, considering I live in Taiwan.... T_T

You sir, are a fucking idiot. Of course Taiwan says they don't want help from the US and don't want it supporting the Chinese government(which it has been leaning more and more towards over the years), but the truth is that they NEED the help. Taiwan is, and would be NOTHING without everything the USA has done for it.

Boxer is not the only one who is going to the army. Eventually Yellow(his current age is when the gov't usually send the service notice), Nada, Xellos, etc will go in 1 or 2 years.
