I closed my northern california stores and went into the Electronic Cigarette industry.
My first 23 days, I have quit smoking, started jogging and every day I get to watch 3-5 people make life changing decisions.
Quit Smoking Now Our locations are in
San Jose - Valley Fair Modesto- vintage Faire Roseville- Galleria @ Roseville Pleaston - Stone-ridge Fairfield - Salano Mall
I quit smoking after smoking a pack a day for 7 years. I had no withdrawals, Anybody who you love who smokes, come check this shit out, test out what the entire internet has already heard about.
I swear on my life that this product changed my life, any struggling smokers out there need to see this, there is a way out of certain lung cancer.
I am not posting this to generate interest in our stores alone, but to spread the good word.
Congrats! Glad you pulled through.. I've never smoked a cig and don't plan on doing so.. grandmother had terrible shit because of it. I do enjoy cigars though :D

Right on brother!
Do you have any tips on how you were able to do it?
I would love to be able to share them with my customers!
I heard from my friends that "quitting" isn't hard for a short period of time (this could even be months), but then there will always be this temptation to smoke "just one" (especially when drinking, or bored waiting for someone/something), then once you start, there's no end.
I dont understand why people smoke First of all, it's expensive as shit, and im a broke ass college kid. Second of all, it has no health benefits whatsoever and the feeling you get from smoking isn't that good either. Still dont understand why join

I think people experience smoking cigarettes different, just as with alcohol and other drugs. For me it was pretty damn wonderful, and once i got addicted to the nicotine satisfying it with a cigarette became even better. Quit smoking using Snus instead (:

ahhh.. I love swedish snus man :D but I only usually use it when I'm away for the weekend with friends.. never used it by myself or anything
keep on keeping on bro! After 3 moths you wont even miss them.. I quit for a year and now I started again arrgh why ?! I smoke 1 o 2 in the weekdays and 20 in the weekends so im relapsing now.. last weekend i smoked 40 cigarettes I think it was the max I ever smoked, so i have to stop before its a real addiction.. for now i wont be smoking for a while as I have no car and underwent surgery in my left foot so Keep it on bro!! Be proud of yourself its hard to quit....
Congrats! I quit 1 year 20 days ago after being about a 1.5 packs a day smoker for about 3 years. Quitting actually wasn't that bad, cause I really did want to stop, I did have cravings etc, but got over them after about 4 weeks. Still to this day I randomly have super vivid dreams about smoking, I can feel the smoke in my lungs and the nicotine fulfilling the craving so well, in the dream, and sometimes it leaves me with the memory of feeling like I actually smoked.
My father has been smoking for 25 years, most of my family have a certain tolerance to it... I cant even take one whiff passing someone on the street without totally choking on it. Seem to be really sensitive to cigarette/tobacco smoke.
of course u dont' have withdrawals... ur not quitting nicotine!
u really think those vapors are absolutely innert and have no effect on you?
ppl on the patch may just as well say "i quit smoking" too.
the real goal of the patch, or any other form of alternative nicotine is to wean down on it. a lesser goal would just be to keep taking the nicotine while avoiding the cigarette chemicals, but that's not really quitting. stop making it sound like u quit.
why do u think the E-cig is being all hyped if it's main thing is to deliver the nicotine? there's already a nicotine deliverer without the other chemicals of cigarettes. the nicotine patch. the answer is that it's more profitable than the patch. and it's not that hard for companies to get doctors on board for promotion.
also, ppl have too much faith in the bearers of science. science is all sound and dandy, but the people regularly twist, obscure, hide, data, studies, and conclusions. exmaples : aspartame, glutamate, NSAIDs, holding back laetrile on faulty grounds, etc etc etc. I say again, do u really think that vapor is innert and harmless?
u know a few decades ago scientists and doctors were promoting ozone inhaling? they had ozone generating machines and whatnot. doctors also recommended smoking the old fashioned cigarettes too.
congrats for not truly quitting, and getting suckered into paying more than you need to pay for nicotine.
1) buy patch instead. 2) eventually quit the patch. 3) save $$$ 4) enjoy true health.
i know my tone isn't very nice but u do what u want with the info. commendations on the decision for regular jogging. that's something everyone, regardless of smoking status can do.

I concur completely. Nicotine constricts arteries. That includes electronic cigarettes.

it's the image of coolness. it's the only reason why ppl start. even starters hate it at first. they keep at it b/c of peer pressure and the image pressure.
heck u even see the SCV in SCV2 with a cig.
if the FDA were really looking out for us, they'd ban nicotine, not to mention aspartame as well as lifting the ban on the cure for cancer.

Sounds like prohibition, remember how that worked out? Not saying I disagree with you, just saying it wouldn't work.

i was only trying to make a point. idk if it would work out or not either.
the thing is the FDA is being very partial with their bans. if drugs are banned and the cure for cancer is banned, but not glutamate, aspartame, alcohol or nicotine... seriously what's their rationale b/c their claims that one is safe while the other is dangerous is shot full of holes a thousand times over. it's merely their power that enables them to maintain the force.
if prohibition didn't work then the drug war and the drug ban wont work either. yet we maintain one and not the other. it wasn't an alcohol thing. the resulting behavior and reaction would be the same for any substance, just as we see now with drugs. the only economic effect it has is that by making something illegal, it's pushed to the black market, and the price goes very high. this is the case with every black market item.
what i see in all this is the classic example of concentration of power leading to outcomes that are nonsensical if the intention is to promote good... but make perfect sense when we consider the human heart equipped with concentration of power.
Can people stop spouting this nonsense that nicotine has no positive effects? Its a mood-altering substance, same as weed, alcohol, cocaine, meth, caffeine, and a massive list of other substances. Some people like having their mood altered, and for some people the risk smoking presents is worth it.

Thank god most people on this website are smart. I can tell you are not.
From a perspective not developed in space but in reality I bring you truth. The Electronic Cigarette rewrites thousands of years of history of smoking tobacco, hash, hookah, marijuana. Now using technology which has existed in the marijuana world for years to the tobacco world changes the game.
I fucking love smoking. I like nicotine, nicotine does not give me cancer, nicotine is a lot like caffeine.
The Electronic Cigarette allows me to eliminate 4,012 (some odd) chemicals AND maintain my personally satisfying luxury.
Also I'm at the Modesto location, I'm meeting with doctors for Kaiser smoking cessation next week.
The patch has a terrible rate and is horribly expensive.
smoke51.com the brand that I sell, is backed with a lifetime warranty on the fucking hardware. ALL YOU BUY IS REFILLS WHICH YOU CAN EVEN MAKE YOURSELF. In my store they are $0.60 a pack.
The local valley here in Modesto is plagued with asthma. The local Pulmonary Doctors claim that not only does the product have no effect long term but THAT IS IT SAVING LIVES.
The facts are this. If you become addicted to cigarettes at anytime in your life and then quit. After fifteen years of tobacco sobriety you have a 25% of ........... not smoking again. The odds are against everyone. This is a $200 billion dollar industry that is causing a cyclone of actions that deplete the poor, disease the poor, and make the rich richer. This allows you to have your cake and eat it too. It is the evolution of smoking, from fire and smoke to Lithium ion battery, atomizer, liquid cartridge, vapor.
Don't believe the hype? This product frees tobacco addiction and compared to a pack cigarettes a day for a year, you save (in my currency at five dollars a pack per day is 1825) about fifteen hundred your first year and 1675 or so your second year. Plus the whole .... priceless better air and life.
Sorry man but you need to actually live and understand the implications of products before you narrow minded demiss them compared to conventional cessation devices. This device is used for a lot more then cessation, it is fucking amazing recreation boy.
I quit smoking cold turkey. twice. Now im pretty set. I had 5 cigs tonight. However It's friday and havent had a cig in 2 weeks. It's a weekend thing now I think. Anyways. Good luck. Buying packs sucks and you feel like shit day in and day out. Stay away from it. Good luck with your business decisions I'm sure you can tackle anything.
Man Im having the hardest time quitting... Ive smoked a pack a day for close to 8 years now and I HATE IT! I was actually looking into this whole electronic cig thing but its expensive to get started into it.
Ive cut back, Im at about 10 a day now, so 50%... Ill take any words from the wise on how to continue easier... KUZ ITS HARD!
My store doesn't do internet sales though ...... so maybe it isn't about money?
Maybe it is about spreading the word to the 1.2 billion smokers on the planet?
Maybe you should go be astounded somewhere else.
This community has seen me be a father, open a store, open more stores and then buy another store and quit smoking cigarettes which has plagued me for years.
Hell yes I want to share the word. Its better then religious or republican dogs sharing their crap opinions.
On July 25 2010 04:10 travis wrote: So does this end up being more or less expensive than regular cigarettes to get the normal highs you would feel from the nicotine?
About 15% of the price to the well informed buyer/consumer.
About 50% to the uninformed buyer/consumer.
About the same to the ripped off consumer (in this game there are a lot of companies that are giving people deadly chemicals in these e-cigs, this is an unregulated industry right now, please be on your guard guys, otherwise you could end up with some E-liquid made in china, with propylene D something that is a form of anti-freeze.)
The company Smoking Everywhere so far has poisoned 67,000 people in the last three years and targeted kids with their adverts.
I am so happy to be on this wave, once we enter the age of Electronic Cigarette, regulation this industry will throat fuck the tobacco industry.

Sorry but I've done a lot of drugs, cigarettes don't do anything to me, if there are any effects they're extremely, extremely, minute.
Also both my father and mother are heavy heavy smokers, tried this electronic cigarette thing for awhile, both failed. I'm not saying it doesn't work, I'm just disappointed because the person at the store here was sounding as enthusiastic as you are about it attackzerg, and was promising all sorts of stuff, and.... nothing. My mom still smokes a billion cigars, and my dad still smokes a billion cigarettes, both have been trying to quit for countless years now. They've spent countless dollars on patches, gum, even a help line.
Smoking causes an insane amount of alterations to all parts of the human body.
Although its effect is not controlling or blunt.
The effects are small and cherished more and more as the threads of habit begin to multiply.
Eventually they have the same effect as any other drug, they turn your normal feelings inside out and make even the most honorable person, a helpless junkie.
I smoke no nicotine 90% of the time because I like smoking, only in the morning-night do I need nicotine at this point!

Yeah man chill out. You need to be put in the chilldog.
grats man. I smoked for 5 years but was able to quit cold turkey w/o anything and felt no withdrawal symptoms. I think it just comes down to genuinely not wanting to smoke anymore. Most people say their trying to quit but in reality they enjoy it and don't want to.

I don't think you read the post I was responding to.
Your addiction to cigarettes hasn't been fought if you're still stuck on nicotine. You're paying more $ to regain your lung health (which is good), but until you fight the nicotine addiction itself you're still in danger of relapse (when your $ runs out).
You have to gradually lower your intake and find alternative life-affirming habits to replace your cravings (jogging is a good start). There is no cheap substitute for willpower.

There are a number of cheap, non-smoking alternatives to cigarettes, not counting electronic cigarettes.
There is also no guarantee that the OP will run out of money.

Honestly compared to my 2,100 dollar a year habit, one that costs 200 is very very affordable.
In Canada, as of March 2009, imports, sales, and advertising are banned. In March 2009, Health Canada also advised Canadians not to purchase or use any electronic smoking products. Health Canada cited the Food and Drugs Act, stating that electronic smoking products containing nicotine require market authorization before they can be imported, marketed, or sold. No market authorization has been granted for any electronic smoking product.[19]

He's right. I mean, congrats and all about quitting real cigs, because those are fucking disgusting. That's still an admirable thing to quit—I know plenty of people who tried and failed, and even going from cigs to electronics is progress... just not quitting. But the addiction to stoges is primarily the nicotine first and smoking second.
Yes, there's a fuckload of shit in the tobbaco version that rapes your lungs and the rest of your body that you've eliminated. But you're out of your mind if you don't think that a highly concentrated form of liquid nicotine will not do anything to your body. Look up the effects of nicotine. Your bloodvessels are probably like an old rubberband that's been near stretched to the point of breaking 1000x over.
You make mention of it being a recreational luxury in a later post (I hate stoges but I love cigars/hookah, so I get where you're coming from) but in the op you say 'there is a way out of certain lung cancer'—you're half passing this off as a completely healthy activity when it's nothing of the sort.

You didn't even answer anything I said.
You accuse the big bad tobacco companies of peddling cancer and disease to poor people, but pretend that nicotine—which is widely known to have several not so cool side effects—is completely fine to ingest? Ecigs are less toxic than cigarettes, not healthy. To say anything other than that is completely disingenuous.
And the only doctors who would say otherwise are paid to do so by ecig manufacturers. And a quitter's tool is hardly the main purpose of ecigs—for christ's sake, they're designed to look and act like the real thing! Light cigarettes were a whole lot more 'healthy' than Cowboy Killers. Those didn't make people quit any faster rate, so why would these? Both light cigs and ecigs contain less of the nasty stuff as full bodied cigarettes, but I'm supposed to believe one influences you to quit more than the other? Congrats on cutting back, but it has nothing to do with what you're smoking.
And further more, who the hell would want to quit if their favorite bad habit if it changed from being completely and totally unhealthy to something that will make you ill but probably not give you cancer by the time you're 55?
Weren't you blogging like a month ago about how your carts were
like bringing fresh water to the sahara.
And that wasn't even this business, you were running some sneaker cleaning franchise.
I mean, whatever works, but it seems like you are just bouncing from franchise to franchise while trying to advertise your products much like I would expect an infomercial to do.

I have worked with this company for a long time, along with shoe m.g.k. I do not only own interests in one type of store.
I recently became more then a partial owner, I became manager-operator and the experience changed my life.
I actually hinted that I was growing a chain in june when I opened Shoe M.G.K in Fairfield, that location and current economic concerns made me decide to close those and reopen then during the holiday season when higher foot traffic yields dramatic improvements.
Also this is the only thing I've been a part of that actually helps people change there life.
Basicly the 60,000 dollars in rent I was going to pay out of the next six months is completely unchanged, it is that I'm focusing on another vehicle to pace myself until Early and Middle October where I will reopen up to 3 Shoe M.G.K's (locations undecided) and at least two more of a product that has never been seen before on any of the world markets.
I don't have to pay franchise fee's, I buy from a wholesaler (factories in china) and resell items. I am just now focusing on only ONE product until future releases.
Also I have never generated a dollar from tl.net, I just like talking about what I'm doing. I would love if tl.net was a part of my financial plan but my small regional stores have almost NO appeal to anybody not residing near them.
(and I made crap money in Fairfield, less then 400-500 a day and almost killed myself)
Hawk,
Nicotine causes nothing that as a smoker I'm worried about. Nobody is allowed to buy an Electronic Cigarette from any of our stores unless they are currently smoking themselves into an early grave. This is not for people with clean blood and lungs. It is perfect for people like me. Smokers only club. I don't need it to be perfect, but it is perfect for me and what I want. That is why I'm so pumped! Also witnessing smokers conquer their addiction and then quit the e-cig after a couple weeks is awe inspiring and very very motivating.
I am selling a product I love more then any other and that makes me feel good about it and want to share it. I was going to die young smoking a pack a day. Now I won't. I'm Sold!
Holy shit, chill is right. You're like an infomercial.
I guess you missed all the years of research that show that nicotine in any form is pretty terrible for you huh? Like, completely destroy your circulatory system bad??
This is hilariously stupid. I could care less if you sell this stuff, but it's total bullshit that you're gonna sit here straight faced and claim it's a) healthy and b) it's a legitimate cessation device when it's nothing of the sort. It's nicotine. It makes you sick.
You're a liar peddling stuff that's detrimental to people's health and trying to pass it off as a benign activity on a gaming website that surely attracts a lot of kids. Real cool dude.
I wish you the best of luck with quitting but come on, unless you're sAviOr's preferred brand of cig-in-exchange-for-not-being-raped-in-prison, don't advertise here like this.
