Please explain how it would be handled in Ukraine. Well, if I were there I would have left his home right after that: On October 24 2010 02:02 wonkyu wrote: He laid his head on my lap and put arms around my shoulders I was gross, and suspicious I can't understand why did he stay. Simple assault would be threatening to touch someone in a way in which they would not want to be touched. So yeah, this would be sexual assault. EDIT: That is, in the US. I don't know the laws in Korea. Did you get this out of a children's dictionary? So if I stroked your cheek and you did not like it, I would be assaulting you?

Dunno how it is elsewhere, but I'm a month and a half away from becoming a teacher in Canada and you have to be very careful on what you do. Particularly if you're a male teacher in elementary. (Although there's been some crazy cougars that have been caught recently at the high school level.) Above reproach is key because if it's your word against theirs, you will lose. Maybe people are hypersensitive, but abuse have occurred and if you are in a position of authority over vulnerable persons, the standards are much higher. Tough on people in authority, but better than if things were too lenient.

If you consider minoring in political science for my undergraduate degree a "children's dictionary," then yes. Yes, if you stroked my cheek and I didn't like it, and I made it clear to you, or it was already reasonably clear to you, that I wouldn't like it, that would be assault. The chances of me prosecuting you might be low, but people break the law all the time without ever going to court. It depends on how much the person cares.

But as people have said- he was 16 and had dropped out of school to join the team. He obviously wouldn't want to piss off the manager. This isn't just "cultural" differences. It's someone in a position of power exploiting the vulnerable. It happens globally bro.

If I said 'please don't' or shied away, yes. And I just recently had a weird experience with grownups forcing themselves on children and thinking it a-ok. If the kid doesn't want to kiss aunt Emma, it doesn't. Done.

If victims just remained silent that could stretch for a long time. But in any case, I think having such people in charge is intolerable. I hope Werra will solve this problem soon and Gundam will get punished for what he did.

I don't think that bad publicity is sufficient to protect people because there will be plenty of people that don't hear about this. Someone who attempts murder and someone who succeeds at it are just as likely mentally to try to murder, same with rape.
