The subject of this thread is not a license to roll out your inaccurate, misinformed, poorly conceived, tired, and downright offensive theories about race relations.

Raging and BM is not new but what's not fine is that terms such as the n-word just keep popping up over and over again. It's a term that was used, and still is (evidently), to disparage an entire race. Racist jokes sometimes can be funny depending on the context (i.e making fun of everyone in a comedic fashion) but most of the time they are completely tasteless and used by people who have no idea about the suffering and pain behind it. Racist BM is just plain wrong. It just shows an immature and bigoted person with latent racist thoughts. It's stupid shit like this that allows disgusting ideas to spread and be used trivially when in fact they are anything but.
I don't see how this is something to be ignored and not serious. Clearly, even if rage induced, the respect-less manner in which he conducts himself does not excuse him of anything. Truly shameful.
I like e-sports drama. I like when Naniwa calls out Nestea. I like when Idra quits a game he should win. I like when a player does a cut-throat or a thumbs down ceremony. I hate the witch hunts this community does every other week. This drama is not the kind the game needs, and is harmful to the scene. He has apologized, that is enough. If he does it again then banish him from the community, but a second chance is needed and that should be that. He is not the only person that has done BM like this, he will not be the last. Those people are not targeted, he is. It's dumb and needs to stop.

I can't count how many times I've been called faggot and nigger online, I don't honestly believe any of those people are racist homophobes. Jesus Christ.
The issue isn't that Orb hates a group of people. The issue is that Orb is normalizing the use of a racial slur. You are also normalizing the use of a racial slur. You are making people who ARE RACIST feel better about expressing their hate in public. This is not okay to do.

It's not ok for anyone to use racist slang's despite how common it is...
Yeah, stupid racist stereotyping white Americans with their homophobia and generalizations of other peoples....
The racist comments are overboard for a public figure, but I don't mind the BM. It only got 10x worse by orb trying to cover it up and drawing more attention to it.

E-sports needs this shit to go away for it to be legit? Let me tell you my friends, A LOT of this shit goes down in sports. The only reason most people don't hear about it is because NOBODY CARES. Are you saying football isn't legit now because they get into bar fights and use racial slurs and sexist remarks all the time?
This isn't about legitimacy of E-sports, this is just everyone blowing on soup that is already cold. You say that this behaviour is hurting E-sports, so how about we do what other sports do and just ignore what goes on outside of televised games? All this retarded drama you juvenile kids bring up is what is hurting SC2. When he says that shit on something that isn't his own personal stream or ladder games then you can jump on his balls and bite them because his representing something other then himself.
Now should he use this language? Obviously from a spectator standpoint nobody should be using this type of language, and I don't think it should be repeated by anyone, famous or not. Obviously some people are just short tempered and it just flows. Shit happens.
Stop the unnecessary drama kids, focus on something actually related to SC2 like Feast and how his a power house. This stupid drama shit needs to stop because right now, there's a lot of SC2 content but not a lot of talking about it, what's the point of trying to pierce into E-sports as SC2 if we can't even focus on the actual sport and rather focus on irrelevant shit?
It's strange, why don't I get offended when someone calls me whitey or honkey? It has the exact kind of demeaning implication. The only reason the word nigger is so stigmatic isn't because black people get offended by it, it's because media and the western society has kept talking about how offensive and racist it is. Now if people would just stop iterating over and over again how bad of a word it is and would stop pretending to be insulted maybe it would go away completely.
It's okay for Destiny to say stuff like this but not Orb? Community bias much? I can understand how diff. organizations would reprimand each Destiny/orb differently, but the community is so blatantly biased it's almost funny.
Edit: Also he has apologized, what more can he do/does he need to do? If you wholeheartedly accept all responsibility for your actions, should you be punished? Isn't apologizing to 10k + people enough of a 'punishment'?
Also last picture is from orb's stream when he wasn't with EG (as can be seen by background). Pretty sure he hasn't said any of this stuff after joining EG and receiving a professional opportunity.

Gheed, you've been called faggot and nigger by people who aren't publicly representing themselves as faces of the SC2 community, whereas orb is a public face of the SC2 community.
Unless IMMvp hangs out in bronze league and dies to worker rushes, I guess.

Nobody said that it was okay for Destiny to say stuff like this. I don't like seeing Destiny say what he says either, especially as someone who's a public...etc, etc, etc.

This thread and the stuff that happened on reddit disgust me, who really cares what he said to someone in the heat of several moments. Jesus.
Sad - sad day for this 'community'.
I think if EG doesn't fire him, I will be seriously pissed off with the SC2 community in general
SCReddit pretty much instigated drama against Katu, a Playhem caster and got him fired from his respective organisation because he poked fun at the one player that gives them as a community a throbbing boner (Based on how easy it is to take a screenshot of his stream and post it on /r/Starcraft for maximum karma whorage.)
That's right, Dragon. He called him a stream cheater and although he got his facts wrong in the broadcast (i.e. he got kicked from Werra, not SlayerS over it), he still didn't do anything nearly as bad as what Orb has done.

It is not about what he said, it's about the fact he tried to act like it didn't happen/it was someone else.

Because it shows he's an idiot, doesn't think about his action and he's trying to lie to cover his ass. I like EG but I wouldn't want to see him on their team or watch him casting.
I don't know what's funnier. People caring about shit like this or Orb being the type of person who would say that. Regardless of whether it is true or not, Reddit community is annoying and full of whiny kids. Destiny used the N word and there was some BS drama over it and then everyone decided that it was okay and that Destiny's bm was funny or w/e. While orb may or may not be saying it for humor, it still has very little meaning and no one should actually give a shit what he says.

The reason you don't get upset is because there isn't a system of racial discrimination in your country that works against you on a daily basis. Your grandparents didn't grow up being unable to attend college because of their skin. Your great grandparents didn't grow up on a plantation. Are you fucking 12 years old?

Orb is not representing the community in ladder games. If he started calling people niggers on stream, sure, grab your pitchforks. But this is just an immature kid saying immature things. Should he stop? Yes. Should we all publicly shit on him for doing what hundreds of raging bronzies to do me weekly? No.
