I find I adjust my play according to it and I would much rather it off so I can just treat every game the same.
I just think it should be optional and adjustable in gameplay options...
anyone else think about this?

Q: What does Favored/Slightly Favored/Teams Even mean on the loading screen? A: Favored status compares your opponent's hidden MMR with your displayed rating. If his MMR and your displayed rating are similar, it will show Teams Even and the match will be worth 10-14 points. If his MMR is slightly higher than your displayed rating, it will show your opponent as Slightly Favored and the match will be worth 15-19 points for a win (5-9 for a loss). If his MMR is significantly higher than your displayed rating, it will show your opponent as Favored and the match will be worth 20-24 points (0-4 for a loss). Q: Is it possible for both players to see the other as Favored? A: Yes, because it compares the opponent's MMR to the player's displayed rating. This is common when both players haven't played many games, meaning their MMR is higher than their displayed rating. /THREAD

And the solution is to not look at the game when I'm trying to play it? That's not counter-intuitive at all. It's a perfectly reasonable request, and not nearly as bad as the decision to remove the win-loss ratios. I'd prefer if they remove all the points completely and just ranked you by the hidden points, so you never know when you're going to move up. Unfortunately, unless the thread blows up, you're much better served asking on Battle.net, but people are even more vicious there, or so I'm told. EDIT: At below, option to disable, not to remove. If I'm favoured, I feel more confident in doing a 16 hatch, whereas if he's favoured and other factors, I might just 14 gas 14 pool instead. I get that you can just not look at it. Just, why can't there be a feature to remove it as well? Then you don't have to make yourself not look at it?

If you couldn't see if you were favoured or not, wouldn't you be scared that they might be favoured anyway every game ? If I was designing the game, there would be a proper points system like ELO I guess, so that everyone knows EXACTLY how good or bad their opponent is in comparion to them. T.T Guess you'd be changing your play even more then ! As an answer, I don't think it should be optional to turn it on or off c:

If were favored then well loose lots of point and that bad apparently, and if their favored we'll loose to them. i can honestly say I dont even see it tldr: just stop looking at it??? Ive personally found it quite easy to ignore.

Compared to showing wins, this is something that gives information about your opponent (if they wouldn't use the mmr for it that is, since you also end up with people being favored that just had a winning streak).

Some say it doesn't effect their play but I think thats why its there to make u play differently. For example if I'm playing weaker players I'll probably play more aggressive. In reference to not showing losses in lower leagues, that too I feel should be optional.

He will most likely see you as being favored aswell. It is just used to determine how many points you win/lose when the game is done. It doesn't say "Your opponent will most likely win"... At any given time it's better to play a favored player. You will earn more points and lose less. And since you've actually hit him on ladder your mmr's aren't too different. I like it

It's possible that it's easy, if i had written the code it would probably be a 3-minute thing, but why should they bother with something so low priority that noone really cares about when there are other things to do (like HotS,BNet patch 1.5 arcade update, etc.)?

At start of the season all players see their opponent as "favored". It was simply done to boost the ladder points at the start of the season to create some diversity on the ladder. (You earn more than usual, you lose less than usual). It has to do NOTHING with who is the more likely player to win. After a while (regardless of winning/losing streaks) you'll see that your opponents stop being favored. That means you've found your 'spot' on the ladder pointswise and things have balanced out. From then on "favored" still means your opponent is worth more points than usual, but now it also means that he's likely a better player because he has a higher MMR than you. Things can overlap of course. If you have a huge winning streak at the start of a season your "favored" opponents will also be better players. The entire confusion comes from the complex way how being "favored" is determined: comparing your pointscore with your opponent MMR if I'm correct. And at the start of the season your pointscore has been reset, but your MMR hasn't. So the point-MMR comparison results in everyone seeing everyone as "favored". (I'm surprised so many people still don't get this, read this article: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=195273)

It's there so that players' points (not counting bonus points) achieve equilibrium with their MMR, so that among players who use all their bonus points, they'll wind up roughly sorted by MMR within a division. Not sure if that's what you were trying to say, but there it is.

I wish people like the OP didn't complain about everything, then we would still have our win/loss count.

We have all lost to people we were favored against and we have all beat people who were favored against us. Many times. So all this feature really does is make certain people paranoid or cocky or something. Its really dumb.

The moral of the story: do not fret over this too much, as it seems it is just another gimmick to make laddering a tedious task for most.

It should have no mental effect on your gameplay.
