Today apeX.eSports is excited to announce it's growth as an organization by plunging headfirst into the world of Starcraft 2. The virtual FPS and console juggernaut will be diversifying its fields of battle with the acquisition of a slew of tried and tested pro Starcraft 2 players. Indeed today is a great day for apeX as we announce the players who will now be waging war in the Koprulu Sector under our banners.
The oGs Crew If you were once a fan of the players of oGs, jump for joy because the majority of apeX's new lineup comes from Old Generations!
jookTo – The Unsung Anyone who's followed the GSL since it's inception as an open tournament may recognize this name. Back when he was apart of the Jung clan jookTo was a constant presence in each open series, but never in any sort of dominant fashion. Most people may know the name because he was around in each tournament. More recently jookTo can be found floating around code A. Despite being teamless he has still been a contender since the beginning. For this reason apeX see's great potential in the unorthodox Zerg. We hope that with his signing we will see great things in the future.
VINES – The Machine VINES, a name synonymous with Protoss macro also signs on with apeX today. His play-style can be considered the antithesis of ex-teammate, MC. He loves his Colossi, and he loves his macro. His docile economic openings almost always can be mistaken as passive nature. Watching VINES play his a lot like watching someone play Sim City blazingly fast. But make no mistake, once he consumes his portion of the map strong death-ball type pushes are always on the horizon. Another player who's yet to really shine despite his constant presence, we hope his acquisition to apeX will refine his mechanical game style into that of a true killing machine.
TOP – The Jack Of All Trades Though his best results were back in 2011, when he made it as far as the GSL August Code S finals against IMmvp before losing in an admittedly disappointing fashion; TOP's consistency cannot be questioned. A player renowned for macro, TOP can be found massing up CC's while holding a strong defensive line before executing a tediously strong push toward victory. While at the same time never shying away from things like a 1/1/1 timing or banshee play. Though he isn't in code A right now, expect a comeback. His overall record usually hovers around 60%, major wins are inevitable for this solid Terran.
InCa – The Dark Assasin The alias of Dark Knight is a no brainer for this Protoss. Infamous for his Dark Templar usage, It would almost feel cheesy if InCa didn't make DT's against you. A Dark Shrine is expected from this guy. Once boasting a PvP win-rate above 80%, he assassinated his Protoss brethren all the way up to the GSL Code S finals in May of 2011 before losing to the all seeing NesTea. InCa's spent his recent time incorporating new builds and incorporating more strategies into his game to be less predictable. Even still as an observer, expect to find InCa and his invisible army soon.
And our foreigner pickup: MorroW – The Infested Terran Currently residing at the Ministry of Win in Poland, MorroW is training hard. Once strictly a Terran user, MorroW has since joined the swarm. Though he still breaks out the Marines and Tanks when he's faced with a Zerg opponent. It is this adaptability that makes MorroW really stand out as a player. Along with debatably abusive macro plays, MorroW most often finds himself rolling in minerals before he decides to kill. With strong practice partners in the former-oGs boys, we feel MorroW has only begun his rise to the top of the foreign scene. Look for the formidable MorroW as the standard bearer for apeX.eSports at all the upcoming international events.
A Red Letter Day With the signing on of these players, we are also excited to welcome aboard Joachim Hofvenschiöld as a new manager and director of the team's day to day proceedings. Anything from marketing and corporate relations, to event planning and livestream production will be handled by Joachim. Additionally Stephen Spor is signing on as a new staff writer for Apex. So expect much more news updates and team coverage from now on!
This is just the beginning, more exciting news is just around the corner! You can look for our guys at the upcoming Dreamhack Bucharest and give them a cheer to show your support!
Great news! Love all of the above players, good luck with everything! Really cool to see a foreigner pick up, by a otherwise pure korean team. GL to you morrow!
I'll admit I'm not sure on TOP if he can back up the macro with control he could resurge as a deadly terran but he's had so much time to do that without much sign of improvement. The other 4 are cool to see back on teams though.
When can we expect live streaming? Good to hear more teams forming up. I expected a team like this to pop up when seeing jooktop top inca and the other lads coming to dreamhack.
Huge meh, younger guys would have been better IMO. They're both below 20% winrate right now so what's the point, really. They're not likely to improve much.
Damn, i'm really happy for TOP, I kept visiting his wiki page in the hopes that he did not retire or just give up, as it seemed he had not had a team for a while.

Good lineup, wonder how long it will take for them to leave given apex reputation for not paying up, being deceitful and generally being shady mofos. (if any of them know of this at least...) GL to them though.
Cool, with TL wanting to get back into GSTL, and a new team full of Koreans and Morrow who has played in Korea before, this could be a new GSTL team to take over for oGs, ZeNex, HoSeo, Slayers.

What they need is to find their own Creator, Leenock, TaeJa or Life. Not players who have had all the time in the world to show their thing but haven't done diddly squat.
Awesome to finally see some of the top former oGs players land a team! With Axiom, Pulse and now apeX all joining the scene, the plot is truly thickening.
Wow sick line up! I'm glad that the old oGs guys found a home and that Morrow is now on a new team! Best of luck guys I can't wait to see how they perform over the next couple months!
nice, itll be very cool to see how morrow does now that he's essentially on oGs minus a few players
edit: also i dont think JookTo was ever part of a clan called 'jung'. His name 'jooktojung' translates to something like 'kill all thors' or 'die thors die', jung being the korean name for thors.
Every time I see a new team formed, I look at its roster in the hope it will be something I'll see again. This is the first time I've actually felt excited about a new team!
This is the worst team I have ever been into. The management is completly retarded and stupid. I joined them around October 2011 and played 3 or 4 month for Apex Esport. They promised to pay 500€ for the whole team (including Slider, funkay, Olajuwon and me) each month. Myself getting 150€. Actually I have never seen any money. Ive played the biggest events in Germany (IFNG + EPS finals) during this time and the teammanager wasnt able to send me a shirt or something else to represent the team.
I dont see any homepage or sponsors. So i doubt this will ever work. Anyway gl.
I hope im wrong, but, wasn't this the same apeX who didn't keep their promises to other teams previously? I'm pretty sure there was a Cod4 team within the apeX organisation who didnt get their lan tickets paid like 1 week before the event happened, as it had been promised to them, once again,I hope im just mixing up names and none of this actually happened

They have a bad reputation in many games for making false promises and then not delivering, I worry for these players, but hopefully they'll get it right this time

That's a different team, Axiom Gaming.
thanks for the clarification, knew I was missing something.
I was literally thinking to myself not two days ago that someone should pick up TOP, since a 2nd place GSL Terran who has been teamless for so long definitely deserves a team. Hopefully he's still been practicing from post-oGs to now.

damn....was excited and then i see this and various articles. I hope they don`t screw over these players too
after all the recent discussion about players not getting paid outside of the big teams like EG, it's hard to be hyped for this, it's just a clantag and some flight tickets from what I can see, at least it's getting some players to DH who might no otherwise of been there, I guess . . .

The thing is, and Diamond has talked about this, it's been hard to get in contact with these players if they don't have a team/manager - making it hard for tournaments to get players like this to compete. So having some sort of team and way to send players around to places is better than no team.
Nice lineup, not too sure about the team though. I hope they're reliable and actually have the funding to pay those guys.
edit: yup, that's what i'm talking about:

id rather they didnt have a site than the shitty myfreewebs redo's that most teams seem to use, but maybe thats just me. most team sites tend to just be a picture of each sponsor logo followed by a ghost town forum that was novel for about 10 minutes.
everyone crying for the koreans, who have gone from making no money to.... making no money. must be shitty for morrow to go from mouz to this.
Wow, fantastic announcement poster. And so good to see several of the unsupported GSL players back on a team, and to top it all off, Morrow too! Hope great things happen for this team!
Thank you so much for picking up all these old ogs guys, I don't even care about anyone else on that roster I'm just so happy to see them finally find a new home. GL and you have my respect!

welcome apex to the major league of scamming. i wonder how you pay your players, when you had to fake screenshots because you weren't able to play 100€. i'm also interested in how many of your players will attend dreamhack physically :D
i can understand the koreans a bit, they are just happy to find a foreign team. but i can't understand well known players like morrow join this shady organisation without a background check.
i really hope for them apex has changed, but from my experience scammers gonna scam.
edit: hofven are you the tf2 hofven? if yes i guess this is just some kind of aprils fool.
It might have been already asked but was it JookTo, or oGsJ, that fOrGG described as one of the best zergs? Epic line-up, I hope to see TOP do well again!

Do you have any proof of that ? I've heard some bad things about apeX but anyone reading this post should take it at face value because there is 0% proof that this guy is owed 1200 euros. I could make a post saying that owe me 3000 euros and provide zero evidence that they actually do.

The team looks really sick !
It really does not matter I think. There IS proof that apeX did screw some other people, few times a liar is as good as always a liar.
I have been involved with Hofven(The manager of apex) in the competitive TF2 scene and his reputation is down in the ground.
He also claims to be a former professional player. if he says he was that in TF2 that is false.
Defur a former teammate of me when we played in the Europe TF2 League, cringed when we found out he was the manager..
From the reddit post about apex that People really need to know!
[-]defur I saw that Hofven was the manager of the team and I instantly reacted. Hofven was famous within the competative TF2 community as a real douche and a swindler that tricked teams into thinking that they had sponsors while they either were really bad or just not real at all. He also was pretty bad at the game, and used it as an excuse to get into teams with really good players and then going on braging about how he was playing with the good players even though they only had him as a manager (for sponsors that were really shitty). Just seeing his name here makes an alarm for a not so trustworthy sponsor, so SC2 community - be aware.
[]Squide I have also seen him in the TF2 community and Defur described him perfectly im affraid. He was well know as a swindler in the Swedish TF2 community. His ETF2L profile you Can see how many teams he have jumped: http://etf2l.org/forum/user/3301/
He also claims on his YouTube channel that he is a former proffesional player wich he is not.
[]pitchatan I and other people around the swedish esport scene have had similar experiences. Among the things he has lied about hes age, hes experience and the teams he has "played" for. Aswell as making stuff up on the fly when confronted with said accusations. So all in all, with the reputation that apex has allready and the history i and many others personally have had with this kid , it just doesnt look to good.
apeX is sponsored by Razer, Elgato Gaming, Squid Grip, 360 Visions and Gam3rGlov3s. They're involved in the console scene a lot. If you're owed money by them, contact the management and let them know, maybe they've forgotten and just need a reminder. They're funding me to EGL (console event) next weekend in Manchester just to commentate Call Of Duty (I live in the US).

MorroW – The Useless Terran Currently residing at the Ministry of Win in Poland, MorroW is training hard at some arcade hots game. Once strictly a Terran user, MorroW has since joined the swarm doing his biggest life mistake. Though he still breaks out the Marines and no Tanks when he's faced with a Zerg opponent. P.S. With no jokes after morrow switched hes just terrible and how much I loved the look at his games before, so I hate to watch his play now.
P.P.S. As far as I know apex's management is one of the most badmannered management of all eu scene.

Oh cool. Most of the time these new team threads are just announcements of a bunch of random master leaguers forming a team. Apex is actually something worth looking at I think.

They also owe one of my ex-MW3 (4Kings) players over £1,000 in salary payments - apparently their pay schedule runs on a 6 month cycle and the only way they've been able to pay is by taking all the teams prize money.
I hope it works out and we have a new powerhouse, but the way they operate the organisation is quite shady.

What does Mindfreak have to do with this? O.o This is a German org, Mindfreak is Australian, they have TargA and iaguz I believe.
I could be mistaken but I did believe that hofven was some kind of remote manager/admin for Mindfreak..? This was why I was surprised that he was also doing this, even before the previous team even got a functional web space..
Nice to see that Morrow and the oGs boys are now in a team but I just don't like the fact that this team seem like coming out of nowhere (never heard of them at all). After reading some comments about them, I don't like the move even more... Koreans players deserve a better team than this shady one... I just wish that Koreans players do some more researches before joining some random team. I'm not saying that anything bad happen or will happen, its just that its better to know the background of the team and management to be sure they won't have any problems when and after they joined.

Do some quick research and you will find out that this team isn't newly formed. They are mostly a console based team from the information I've gather (Call of Duty MW3). Its precisely the fact that we are talking about top tier former oGs members that had me worried. These guys deserve a better team, at least a team that is dedicated to the PC platform, not consoles...

jesus... why announce a team if you're not gonna stand by it -____-;
I guess nothing more than the nice announcement team picture will remain. I feel sorry for the oGs guys.
That's what gets me, why create such a great picture if you knew you didn't have the funds to actually support the team? Did management think a bunch of sponsors would come rushing in when they saw the names?

blackfoger had a very well documented and extensive history of screwing teams over. From what I can see, before sc2 Apex was primarily a console based org. So they may have a reputation in that scene but they're basically unknown here. Either way, we need a website/group that tracks such shady organizations. That way players have a better chance of not getting screwed over.

A reputation for scamming them. Yes. So, it's basically the same haha. Of course, blackfoger has a much longer history, but scamming is still scamming. It's intrinsically bad and should definitely be either dealt with or publicized accordingly.

They should have spent less money on promotional posters and more money on promises.
I have a question: what the fuck do these teams think is going to happen? If you have no money and you're promising to send players to international tournaments, the shit is going to hit the fan and relatively quickly.
I am honestly curious. Do they just start teams and make promises with zero backing or funding to speak of? That takes some balls. What a joke.
