I don't know how much more proof foreigners need to stop the nonsense. Foreigners aren't on the level and never will be. Their middling players are garbage and very few of them can compete against Koreans.
People just prefer comfortable lies instead of the hurting truth, let them live in their happy ignorance.

Frankly i don't understand EG's business reasoning here. Are they really so intent on proving that their entire "star" roster is dependent on one player (Stephano) and that all the rest of their team will consistently lose to Korean B-teamers?
What do they really have to gain from Proleague? If prestige - update your roster. If ROI - get a LoL team.

Watching these games has really made me wish one of these teams would pick up Naniwa. The guy has proven he can take KeSPA players (best foreigner results in the MLG vs. Proleague tournament + beating Flash at MLG), and he's the king of preparation. He'd be a great asset to EG/TL even with the occasional attitude issue, which, watching his stream, seems to mostly come from being super overcompetitive (which in my mind is a good thing to be if you want to be the best).

I just wanna say that I absolutely love this setup, and have thoroughly enjoyed the productions thus far, problems and all. At first I wasn't sure if Mr. Bitter and TB would mesh all that well, but I must admit that they are already developing an excellent rapport, like when TB makes an outlandish joke and Bitter can only help but let out a long, reserved chuckle. Can't wait for TLO and Adebisi, though I can only imagine how enraging it must be for an industry observer to be at the mercy of someone across the globe lol.

What is wrong with you?
Foreigners have played 3 games in TOTAL the first 1 being when they just got there, where everyone lost
The second and third (still reeling from going to korea and getting introduced to proleague format as a player) being on a map that Thorzain probably never even had time to start seriously practicing on, and then Huk barely losing a pvp.
Get your self together and stop for a while and think.

Man you just spoke some logic which is going to give some people problems.
Just ignore them, I imagine thorzain will get a win first though out of the foreigners if he still plays in proleague after this week. Just hope they send him out on a map he knows.
Also if thorzain isn't the first foreigner to win a game it will be idra/stephano MARK THY WORDS (I am not saying any foreigners on liquid because as far as I know they aren't even on the roster?).

They were claiming to be the BEST team in the league by far, like they would stomp through the proleague. Now that they are dropping matches they throw out the "new map" card and are just not prepared yet card... If Koreans used one of those excuses for a foreign tournament it would be laughed at. However, one of them are bound to win a game eventually, it is a long season.
Keep boasting of foreigner skill and talent. The bottom line is other than Stephano and Scarlett foreigners are b-teamers at best.

If the maps are not a big factor in wins and losses, why isn't crap station still in the rotation... oh ya... because they do make a big difference. I'm not saying Arkanoid is the new crap station, but it is very "weird", compared to ladder and previous tournament maps. Mrbitter and TB had no clue how it even worked, which is on them... comon guys, a bit of research? maybe they didn't have time... <shrug> This whole proleague feels very "last-minute" for the foriegn competition, on every level. And does it even matter? Comparing the skill of EG-TL to the rest of the proleague competition is not really apples to apples... we may have to wait until HOTS for that.

When did the team claim to be the best in the league by far? What are you talking about?

The bottom line is other than Stephano and Scarlett foreigners are b-teamers at best. They lost the first match of the league (their first match as a team) and they lost their second match 3-4. You are reading way too much into this. They may or may not prove to be a powerful team. Proleague lasts a year. I suffer you to find any method that has accurately predicted a team's performance in the year-long Proleague based on their first 2 matches, let alone the first 2 matches the team has ever played.
I also don't know who you think you're quoting when you claim the team has been making excuses for themselves. I don't think they care about making excuses for you. They're too busy practicing and becoming a team. If by the team is making excuses, you mean Starcraft fans are trying to remind you that everyone loses games, and conclusions are best not jumped to, then yes, the team is making excuses.
There is also no reason to think Stephano and Scarlett are magically a tier above other foreign professionals. The differences between players in general aren't that big.
You might also note that only 2 of the players the team has fielded have been foreign players. They play all of 3 games and this is what you make of it.

Wow some people take things to the next level.
Reminds me of how people were saying how embarrassed they were by FXO and F.United in GSTL back the in the day. Before they all killed.
Well whatever. I know some people expected EG-TL to blitz into it all and dominate, whilst naysayers expected them to wipe out on everything. Honestly I thought they'd just be on par with the competition after some weeks of acclimatising to it all.
How any of this talk is related to broadcasts though idk =S

Uhh, why would people say these things? Even if all this were true... Is it kind? Is it helpful? What does this achieve? So assume foreigners aren't as good as Koreans. Assume EG-TL does as poorly as ACE used to. So? If it's fun, and we watch, and EG + TL make money... Then everyone wins. If it isn't fun, then WTF are you guys doing here? Go watch something you would enjoy, and stop actively trying to reduce others' fun.

You're talking out of your arse here for the most part. I know exactly how Arkanoid works and explained it during the cast. The fact of the matter is though this is a map that is completely untested for SC2 and NOBODY knows how it is going to play out.
But I guess if the greatest criticism of us is that we can't see the future then things could be a lot worse.

I really hope that the current state of english broadcasts will improve soon. I'm trying to appreciate the work of the TL/EG crew, but it really looks like a random daily stream from a random player, and not like a professional tournament aspiring to be the most important thing in SC2. The lack of any attempt at making the breaks between matches interesting, barely audible in-game sounds, uninspired casting from TLO/Adebisi (TB + MrBitter was OK, can potentially become good if the casters try NOT to sound like they are not even remotely interested in the outcome of the games)...
I know that this was probably the best thing that could be done on a short notice, but it needs to get much better or I'll regret spending my 5$ lol.

It will get better, for sure.
It seems to me like they had only a very limited amount of time to prepare these rebroadcasts and thus had to work "on the fly". The cast yesterday (Bitter and TB) was already extremely enjoyable to me and today's cast was alright.
Give this thing some time and I'm sure it will be like the second Code A.
|
It definitely feels very new and fresh, in the sense that the casters are still feeling out the map and they haven't developed a dynamic rapport; Bitter and TB felt a little more natural as far as that caster rapport, but that could be just from being regular casters as a profession. The TLO/Adebisi cast seems a bit more analytical, which can be pretty dry, despite TLO's sexy German accent.
Hopefully over the season, everyone will work out the bugs in the system, such as the very low ingame sound as others have mentioned and we'll get a really quality English cast.
|
What kind of sound equipment are TLO/Adebisi using? And what program (skype?) ? I find the sound quality on TLOs end quite pathetic to be honest
And please get some kind of silent keyboard for the commentators...

You'll regret spending $5 on like 500 hours of content, really?
I'm sure it will get better, since TL is listening to all of the criticism. The casters will rotate, so there are going to be some that you like and some that you don't. I don't really know what you expect them to do during breaks, though. They have no idea how long each break will last. Also, unless you consider GSL's "10 minutes of decent music" or MLG's "30 minutes of crowd watching" to be entertaining transitions, I don't think there's a big precedent for entertainment between games anyway.
|
Is the 720p stream laggy too ? Because the free ones were really hard to watch for some of the game. And since i'm not a teenager anymore and have income... I would buy that ticket. But i would really want to know if for exemple Game 1 of KT saturday was watchable with the PPV system.
