I don't have any interest in criticizing their casting technique but I can tell you this. Proleague is NOT the place to cut your teeth as a caster. None of us started that way, casting one of the most important tournaments in the world. We did online stuff for no pay and paid our dues while learning how to cast well. If Kespa wants foreigners interested in it's tournament, which honestly I'm only partially convinced that they do, then they need to ensure that their product is appealing to foreign audiences. With concurrent views plummeting anywhere between 50 and 75% vs the first two weeks, it's going to be tough for Proleague and hold interest and build an audience after such an early stumble. they have many issues they need to work out, but so far they havent made me cringe like other casters who yell at the audience and know jackshit about how the game is played. they need to work better together, not cut off each other and learn how to flow better. but at least the analysis is decent. Yes they could technically be worse (kelly milkies worse). But I don't really have very much hope for SNM unless he gets some coaching for his accent (speech impediment?). Annnnd no, I'm sorry, the analysis isn't even decent. The analysis is actually quite poor, if not just plain wrong quite often.
HOWEVER, as someone else mentioned, if they could be at the venue with background (crowd & korean casters) noises, I feel that would improve the quality of the casts immensely.

Keep up the good work supernova and don't let the trolls hurt your heart, you're going to do great and keep improving. Just because people have 'negative' feedback, or genuinely don't like what they are experiencing, doesn't mean they are trolls. This casting is pretty damn bad. The players are clearly not very knowledgable about the game, nor do they seem very experienced at casting in general. I am experiencing pure mediocrity here. It's simply not what you expect when you're watching something legendary like pro-league. And it baffles further when you were listening to renowned casters doing this before (apollo and tb i think?) and then a downgrade into this. This is a premium spectacle we're witnessing here, but the commentary does not do it justice. I am not holding it against them that they are in the 'rushed' position they are in, not even at the studio, and left out of the loop about the broadcast. That's unfortunate, and good on them for working with that. But it doesn't begin to detract from the vocal mediocrity that isn't really bringing much to the game. They aren't even casters who have a well developed strong suit in any one direction, but suffer from being a bit imbalanced or some such. It's just plain meh all around. Some people aren't qualified for some jobs. If we sit around trying to just be positive about this kind of crap, it doesn't actually change. Get real and call spades spades. If they're casters who are cut from a cloth that has any real future with the the task, then they absolutely must be able to recognize their many, many faults and areas for potential improvement. Personally, I don't think they are cut from that kind of cloth. Not only do I not see talent, but I would not be able to honestly say that these guys seem to have real passion for the game. This cast is where excitement goes to die, as mine does, everytime I tune in to PL lately only to remember that this is how it's being casted. Suddenly, I don't care that I'm watching "proleague" or kespa players, or kespa legends, or foreigners against them. I tune out. Also, I agree word for word with what TotalBiscuit said on the last page, although I am clearly more willing to critique their casting ability. And are Totalbiscuit and Apollo willing to move to Korea to cast for the next 8 months? Because otherwise we have them casting part time from their homes, which means poor video quality and more frequent technical difficulties, plus substitute casters constantly needing to be found when they're unavailable. Sooooo... DoA?
I guess just political issues with Kespa and OGN, plus DoA making that thread on here.

is the twitch subscription for the whole year of proleague?

I feel very sad for Doa in any case, but we all know he's not gonna cast after what happened.

That's neither true nor is it a fair statement. Of course viewer numbers are going to drop from the beginning. Views were much higher initially because it was the return of Proleague, EG/TL made their debut, there was a big announcement about it on here, it was the first all Starcraft 2 Proleague, etc. Nobody expected that they'd stay that high. Additionally, it largely depends on the match up. EG/TL vs KT will obviously garner more views than STX vs Khan. Taking into account the assumed disparity from match to match, 50-75% is an exaggeration.

Sorry, TotalBiscuit, but you're just sounding like a sore loser. Unless you or some other established caster was willing to go to Korea for 7 months, and by all appearances none were, there's not much else IEG could do. I for one did not want to have a restream for the entire season, and if you're going to have new casters, might as well start them now.

No, I don't think they are that bad. The biggest problem, IMO, is the lack of crowd noises. They themselves are too monotone, IMO, but that isn't all the unusual or that bad... but combined with the sterile sound just leaves a flat cast.

I honestly think the stream casting online in their own home worked pretty well. The restriction of having good casters in Korea pretty much makes them unable to find any good candidates.
If time is an issue, they can also do a rebroadcast with replay and live casting since they play pretty late to be honest.

Almost 20,000 vs between 10,000 and 5,000 depending on teams.

Expecting a news source for that as silly, as there would never be one, whether it were true or not. I remember 10K viewers for the first EGTL match... This one currently (it _just_ finished, some may have left, but I think not that many), has a little under 7K. Whether that decline is to be expected (considering the date, considering the hour, considering the loss of novelty), is of course up for debate. You both need to improve your memories, as there is a news post for it, and there was about 19k viewers for the egtl vs kt game.

From what I get, today's EG-TL match peaked at around 11k viewers during the Ace match. It can be a little bit higher, though.
But if it's really around 11k then it's around 45% drop (11k/20k*100 = 55%).
