When you know that drinking and partying can cost you millions of dollars and your job and you keep doing it. You have some big time issues. the browns were right to demote him and from what I have been hearing it is likely that was the request from the captains on the team.

Or is it just a bunch of no life perspective football lifers having a stick up their asses? I just think it's funny how Josh Gordon is a "World class moron" according to some here but Johnny somehow isn't.

Gordon was officially reinstated on November 17.[21] On December 27, 2014, exactly one year removed from being selected into the Pro Bowl, the Browns suspended Gordon from the final game of the 2014 season due to a violation of team rules.[22] As of January 2015, Gordon faced another year-long suspension due to testing positive for alcohol use.[23] Gordon entered the NFL's substance abuse program after pleading guilty to a driving while impaired charge in September 2014 and was prohibited from consuming alcohol during his time in the program.[24] Gordon was officially suspended for one year on February 3, 2015 and won't be able to return until the start of the 2016 season.[25]

Gordon's last suspension was for partying WITH his team. But people didn't say anything like "oh he wasn't that drunk" or any of the excuses they make for Manziel. And the only reason he got suspended for it was because if you get in trouble for using cannabis you don't get to drink anymore either.

I agree that the league policy on cannabis is ridiculous, but people call Gordon a moron because he had plenty of opportunities to play within the rules in order to make his millions and decided to smoke instead. As someone who smokes recreational weed, you bet your ass I would never touch it again if I could make $10 million a year. That's what makes him a moron.

Which is what would make Manziel a moron, many opportunities (remember he had some serious screw ups through his college career too) to straighten up, yet still out partying and drinking post rehab (which I'm starting to suspect wasn't even for alcohol if drinking isn't considered a relapse). No one was accusing Gordon's performance of suffering from his hobby, whereas Johnny's drinking has put doubt of his commitment to improving his performance front and center. Johnny didn't even have to stop drinking, he just needed to listen to his team, not go to a club during the season and have videos posted on social media of it. That is much more moronic than NOT smoking weed and going and partying with your teammates after the season is over and not realizing that the league would throw the book at you for something your own teammates didn't tell you (or realize) would be a problem. I'm fine with people thinking they are both morons, or neither are morons, but thinking Gordon is some special level of stupid but Johnny should be complaining to the NFLPA is just garbage.

Johnny isn't being suspended or fined by the NFL though... This is the Browns essentially saying he went back on an agreement they had come to. I get what you are saying and if the NFL had suspended him for this I'd be on board, but the team deciding this is a different level. He didn't do anything illegal/against NFL rules afaik so you can't compare the two imo.

We know objectively, cannabis is in practically every way less detrimental than alcohol yet one will get you in trouble with the NFL and the other wont. My original point was that the reason he's still in the league isn't because he's any less stupid in his behavior, it's that the system is set up to punish someone like Gordon and not someone like Johnny, not because what Johnny's doing is less stupid.

First, you have to realize on difference is that Gordon has never gotten a payday, he had to go in the supplemental draft, barely even got paid on that modest contract, etc. Meanwhile Manziel has gotten a 1st round contract, and by they way he isn't lacking for money, or opportunities on something like the SEC Network. Many people call Josh an idiot because of his talent, and more ore less dont give a fuck about Johnny because he already has fleeced the league for more money than we would have paid him. Josh Gordon is like Steve Jobs in 1980 drinking bleach, Johnny Manziel is like a random coder leaving California to work in IT in St. Louis...where his father happens to own 15 car dealerships. On November 26 2015 07:14 cLutZ wrote: ^Yip. Johnny still is getting his checks. Plus, its the Browns, not the NFL who have it out for him. Despite Goodell being suspect as a commissioner, the Browns are on a different level of incompetence. That he is not getting along with that team is practically an endorsement of his judgment. I also am going to disagree with your lack of contrast between them on this point I made before: The Browns are absolutely an embarrassment. Josh Gordon is unequivocally less dumb than the collective that is the Browns, so is Johnny. That it is the Browns that he is feuding with, not the NFL, is a key distinction you don't seem to be on board with (for unknown reasons).

So he also lied to the Browns about when the video was recorded and tried to get his friends to lie about it too. He's an idiot. He really is like an immature highschooler.
