This is a throwaway account. I have evidence that public SC2 map hacks are back in full force.
The new distributor is a character named Nightview and he is distributing it on the same website as the previous hacks in the past (a simple google search, first result...).
I obtained his hack by PM-ing and offering to "beta test" his hack for him. I used it and I can confirm it offers similar functionality to the previous hacks that existed, such as full view of the minimap, units/production counter, etc. I deleted it immediately after I was convinced of its functionality. This video has already been discussed on another thread here on TL, but it is worth mentioning again for further evidence.
For the time being, it seems anyone can get his hack just by private messaging. I expect his hack will go fully public once he has completed his silly beta test. We cannot allow this to happen.
The most important thing to stopping this is awareness. The community and the people at blizzard need to be made aware of this so they can shut it down just like they did at the start of LotV.
I would suggest mass emailing hacks@blizzard.com. Include this forum, include a link to the offending website (again, a simple google search for "starcraft 2 map hacks"), a link to the youtube video, and make sure the individual Nightview is identified as the distributor. In my email, I additionally attached the copy of the hack that he gave me, and then I deleted it from my computer.
Report any suspected map hacker you find in-game. Now that we know that hacks are truly back, it's no longer "whining" and "raging". Hacks are real and they can ruin the game again if enough people start to hack. Blizzard has acted before and they will act again with enough pressure from the community.

Maphackers never dissapeared at all. There´s a famous hack producer (i dont remember his name) who stills playing with it for private. He uploaded a screenshot breaking rootCatz win streak one year ago.
So there are hackers. Of course. They never dissapeared at all.
I remember imbatoss. EU GM Top 1 for 3 months in 2014 maybe ?
blizzard can't do a damn thing about it which is why I stopped playing this game. There is no point for me to play any competitive game when the integrity of competition is not 100% legitimate.

100% ? You must play 0% of competitive games, then. Sorry, but this comment is just ridiculous.

I play league of legends, magic: the gathering and broodwar(iccup server with anti-hack). These are all competitive games. It is not ridiculous for someone to expect fair competition when playing a competitive game.

It's just like expecting the impossible, you will never rule out 100% of cheaters in a (computer) game.

I imagine that that is just the way the media educates some people over there in the US ^.^ No offense but I agree that this black&white view of "integrity of competition" being "100% legitimate" is a wishful, yet nearly unreachable longterm goal. However, trying to mitigate the effects as much as possible is necessary and therefore: Thank you for pointing things out @jason515 aka Ketroc

There is a zero% chance of encountering a cheater on broodwar on the iccup server when both players have anti-hack enabled. There is no possible way to cheat on Magic: The Gathering online.

Oh, where did LoL go all of a sudden? And what about theoretically looking at your screen via a remote desktop app? Just saying it is definitely possible and you're apparently living in a bubble.
Guess you're right about ICCup, those few people who still play after all those years probably are playing fair, but only because there isn't much incentive for people to develop new hacks for very old games. SC:R could change that, though.
I never understood what the point of tryharding with maphacks was. Someone using maphacks to troll his opponent and have a laugh? I can see the logic behind that. Certain eras of Warcraft 3 come to mind. In MMOs too, easing farming and configuring the bots and scripts can add other layers of fun.
But using maphacks to climb the ladder and pretend to be above your actual skill level? What's the point? E-peen?

Looking at your screen via a remote desktop app? You are really grasping for straws here bud. You are overlooking the point. Even when BW was in its prime, iccup w/ anti-hack was 100% safe. I get it, you want to defend your game because the FACTS i've pointed out can damage the perception of the game to others. Blizzard should focus on making their games 100% secure/cheat-proof if they want to retain their playerbase & customers. Anyway, is gsl on yet?

I don't understand why people get enjoyment out of cheating, but there are those out there that do. As sad as it is, no online game will ever be hack-free. Just because you can't think of a way for someone to hack something, doesn't mean there isn't one. Broodwar itself is very much hackable. You have to use a third party program (which is actually against the terms of service) just to feel safe. I honestly don't know how that anti-hack program actually works, but I doubt that there isn't a way around it. The game is just so old, that no one has put the time into solving the riddle.

You realize the huge majority of your losses will be because of you and not hacks tho? Quite a stupid mentality :o

Not grasping for straws, just pointing out your flawed logic here, bud. Only FACT here is that you simply cannot prevent cheating/hacking completely, EVER. GSL should be over already, no?
