They are some hipster here but they will back to reality soon That might be one of the most uninformed and stupid answers I have seen on TL for a long time. Especially saying this on a BROODWAR forum (which is what TL was created for), is just utterly ridiculous. I enjoyed SC2 for few thousand games, but haven't played at all since LotV came out (except the campaign, which I didn't even finish because I got bored af). Broodwar I have played much more, for much longer, with much more enthusiasm. So yeah... absolute no brainer for me.

I want to, but it depends on that. Otherwise it'll probably be neither.

Rofl so you admit you voted "Yes, I will abandon sc2 and start playing bw remastered" but you dont play sc2, this poll is 100% biased because of people like you

Anyway, BW is annoying to play for me since I got used to all the luxuries of SC2 and no amount of fancy graphics is going to change that. Not that I play anything lately since my muscles decided that they don't like being asked to do too many things in a short timespan, it's just not pleasant ...

All of these people who keep thinking they're going to switch will give it a shot, and then just come back to SC2 because 50% of BW is playing vs. the interface.

You are always playing "against the interface" in any videogame ever. I obviously know what you mean, yes bw requires a lot of tasks which are not there in sc2. But even in sc2 you "play against the interface" a lot, in reality that's exactly where the fun is coming from. You cannot simply tell your marines to split, you actually have to do that manually and each time you do it well it feels great. Same with lots and lots of other things. I will be honest, i cannot understand people who mention this all the time. For the most part you can play bw easily and the units also do what they should do. Yes sometimes here and there the pathing will make units act "stupidly" but at the same time this pathing also allows for great army engagements. There are strengths and weaknesses here. This "bw is just fighting against the ui" is just as wrong as people saying "in sc2 there is one big fight then it's over" Just to be clear once more, both games are different enough that i don't see why you wouldn't play both if you enjoy both enough. Both games can be fun and both games can be frustrating.

Then again my opinion might be biased because i haven't watched or played sc2 in years, just the bw games.

Well that's a good example then, when you cannot even move up/down I mean ofc it's different there, but to some extent you always battle the ui/controls, because that's the only way humans can interact with the game. That might change in the future. And i definitely can see that bw is frustrating to play when you are used to modern games. I think that "battling the ui" is actually what creates the fun though, both in sc2 and bw.

SC2 is much more about strategy and mental strength to success at the top. They appeal to different players. I prefer SC2, but again, I've not played in a while because of RL. I'll check out BW remastered, but there won't be a 'switch' why do you think there is more strategy in SC2? I see the opposite, even if BW has some strategic limitations I find games to be a lot more varied in general, more phases, less all ins & volatility, more details, more tactics which synergizes with strategy, more varied economy system, much better race and unit design with less hardcounters (so more strategic possibilities), etc I understand people would get annoyed with BW interface, and some pathfinding rough edges, but overall.. the pathfinding gives much better results in BW so.. I would say in SC2, the pathfinding has less flaws but also less qualities. I think you should just try playing fun games in bw, you will see the value.
