This is for Code A.
Edit2: Wasn't Maru that young kid? The rest of them are all cheesers I think ? Can't find any reports/summary of their GSL games on their tlpd. Anyone care to explain what playstyle they have?
Ret looks like he got a pretty good draw, AliveFou I think is the only top 200 person in that group, which also includes Davit, probably the worst player ever to reach top 32 in a GSL, and Maru who's a 13 year old kid. I don't think FreeSaga, Sync or Ace are considered particularly good either.

He does have a lot of potential, but you can't say age means nothing - just the practice schedule alone for someone who has to be at school 5 days a week vs someone who's gaming full time is enough of a handicap without even talking about the other advantages that older players have such as general gaming experience, nerve control and general decision making skills.

I wonder what maps they're going to play on.
There r a lot of young top SC2 players... don't know who off the top of my head... O SCfoU is only 16.

John (Junkka) said on the GOMTV forums that it will be streamed, but not in English.
Do you happen to find that post again (I tried only saw another poster saying John said it^^)? Or do you remember if it's like the GomTV Clanbattle with Korean streams available for us foreigners or is it like that GSTAR tournament with no streams for us foreigners at all (restreams then...)?
Well Ret will play vs a bunch of all in-ers and maruprime (the young kid), Maru does alot of timing attacks if i remember right, less all in-ish play but mostly just build up and have a huge timing push, ret should beat that easy.

LOL at the people in Ret's group, indeed. How can you not recognize all of them? It's by far the hardest Code A group there is.. aLive is the guy who swept Zenio in GSL3, DAVIT is the cheesemogul from GSL1, Maru is the little kid who took out Cella in GSL1, FreeSaGa took out Artosis in GSL1 (aswell as taking a game from TesteR)... Sync won an OSL (!!!) and Ace is former eSTRO-Zerg :D

Man, reading Sync's broodwar liquipedia page is depressing

Ace is pretty good, if you watch his games from GSL2. There's also a Chinese player named Ace and they both play Protoss so don't get confused if you download a replay from another site and see him playing against F91 or something and assume it's the same person.
There will be a group draw of Code S players for GSL 2011, one hour before A-group match begins. The players will participate in the ceremony, but it will be not broadcasted.

Isn't he already Code A qualified?
He only got to the RO32 in one tournament, which would put him at 350 points. But he isn't on either list at http://www.gomtv.net/news/288/0

Ya, Sen and oGsGon are missing from that list. Gon is a coach for oGs, so maybe he removed himself to let full time players play.
As for Sen, he went back to Taiwan. Maybe didn't have the funds from Fnatic or himself to stay in Korea to participate. Especially since he would've had to go back on short notice to play in this tiebreaker, and then if he qualified go back to Taiwan until the Code A tourney actually starts or stay in Korea, both of which would cost a significant amount of money. Or he just decided to take a trip to Korea and play in GSL for fun with no intentions of staying. Who knows.
Sad that Sen went home :-( I really liked his style. Hopefully he'll be back again. I wonder how point accumulation will work. Like say FruitDealer gets really sick and is out for two months. Does he then have to qualify for group A from scratch? Or would his accumulated points guarantee him at least a spot in A, maybe even bumping out an otherwise safe A-leaguer?
Really hope Ret makes it through and that I can catch his games on VOD later in the day. His style is something special and makes me all warm and fuzzy inside when I see it Ret Fighting!

i dont understand why they only make a korean stream. and I also dont understand why they have the code A groups before the actual season. will they have monthly seasons or what`?

Since 2011 will be the first "real" season (not open), they need some way to determine who plays where besides the ones who already qualified as S-class.

These are the qualifier tiebreakers to be able to get rank A at all, since there were so many people with the same amount of points and just choosing someone wouldn't be fair.

That beatdown from Maru was so brutal - I just couldn't believe the absurdity of Maru's reactions! It was as if he was somehow permanently watching Ret's base! Whenever Ret tried anything, Maru would just react instantly . Poor Ret couldn't hardly touch Maru's expeditionary force.
Incredible multitasking from Maru, but a pain that it was Ret who he beat .
Stream went down for me and won't start up again .
It says that it cannot play the file, and asks to confirm the location of the file, or says that it could be damaged. When this happened before, just closing and restarting the player worked, but not this time, it seems!
Why did the Protoss stay in for so long after he lost? I know that normally in tournaments they'll wait a bit to regain their composure, but doesn't he have a break coming up anyway?
This has become the worst game ever . WOW. I can't believe this Protoss stayed for so long! That was so absurd - it was like he was trolling the commentators.
Amazing Banelings from Ret - sooooo close to losing that third! Still anyone's game right now, but Ret's looking good. Oh noes! Watch out for the drop!
EDIT: Wow this game is so much better than the GSL3 games we've been getting of late .

Its not so bad since top 2 go on. Its still possibly that both will make it and very likely that one will make it to the next round and achieve code S for season 5. Seems like SlayersBoxer got an easy round ;P how convenient.
Group F seems pretty hard! MC, Nada, Inca and zenith. Too bad there's 3 ogs members in a single division.
Is there any particular reason for the games tomorrow (15th) being so much earlier? I wouldn't mind watching but getting up at 3am is a bit much, especially without English commentary.

I guess having 2 foreigners in the same group increases the chances that theres one foreigner in the next round. But it also decreases the chances that both foreigners are in the next round. I hope they both make it through.
yeah 3 oGs in the same group sucks too. In GSL 1-3 they did their best to keep clans split up. I guess there are ups and downs to a random draw.

So, incredible ZvZ on scrap station - who was it? I watched it with awe all the way, but didn't get their faces afterwards. Baneling fight till main base resources are all depleted ftw!

12 o'clock RED was SlayerS_Golden (ex fOu) and 2 o'clock BLUE was ST.Monster.

Newdawn 5-0...HELL YEAH.
Yeah, I was so happy to see that as well. Wasn't he the player who had the most soothing voice in an interview? I wanted him to win just so i could hear the voice more lol. He could have been a voice actor.

I'm not sure about the voice but he was the guy with the rubber chicken.
