@ENTUS_Progaming: Entus suprising news ★ "Effort(Jungwoo Kim/Zerg)" is coming back! He will rejoin us from today and practice until he gets his pro-gamer license back on Aug 31st Plz cheer him up! Thank you!!!!!
Here's something that I found today on their twitter:
Korean: @Entus_Progaming: 차주 월요일 10시 엔투스 깜짝 뉴스 발표(공식 보도 자료 배포 시간) RT 1개당 1분씩 발표 시간을 앞당겨보겠습니다.(중복 제외). 가장 빨리 팀 뉴스를 접할수있는 기회 놓치지 마세요!
English: @Entus_Progaming: Super big esports news from Entus team will be announced on Mon(21st)10:00am (korea time)but can a min earlier as much as RT's we count!
I don't know what the news is yet, since I'm not part of Hite Entus. However, people can help the news come out 1 minute earlier by retweeting the above message at www.twitter.com/Entus_Progaming. For each retweet (one per person), we can pull the announcement one min earlier.
One of the followers that I have said: @xxxxxxx: I think teamliquid is going to retweet this many times.
Let's show Korea that we still love the Korean scene. Retweet!
EffOrt back would be Nice but don't you guys think this probably has something to do with Starcraft 2? I mean FOX already has Moon and Lyn playing SC2... Seems pretty unlikely that the announcement is Broodwar related.
Dunno about that. KeSPA would get mighty mad if one of their current teams sets up an SC2 division. Plus, Hite doesn't even have any SC2 players atm. If it is actually SC2, then it's probably a sponsorship of a current team rather than forming a new team.
Then again, I did see an SC2 Kerrigan poster in some old photos of the CJ Entus team house.
Also, it will take 4320 retweets to move back the announcement by 3 days. I hope you all have your Twitter accounts ready, mentlegen.
The tone of the tweets doesn't make it sound like the news is something bad, so people are guessing things like a change in the team name / sponsor, a player switching over to Entus, a change with the coaches, etc.
People first started thinking of Effort, but the year hasn't passed, and I don't think he's ever coming back when he's started studying for univ. Kwanro can't return either, since he has to return to his original team(SKT) if he wants to come back. The timing seems wrong for a coach change. Xellos's army term ends either this or next month, but don't think that's it either.
I kind of feel like after this fuss, it's not going to be that important =[ If it was reeeeeeeeally important, I don't think they would have done the RT = faster Twitter announcement. It seems like a ploy to get more followers...

Yes, it's soooo unlikely that a BW team will announce something BW related. You know, WHY would they?
Hite entus to organise a giant sleep-over for all BW pro and Ex-progamers, pictures will be taken and they will be uploaded to the (in?)famous Nada's body thread.
In all seriousness, I hope it is not sc2 related and rather that they are expanding their BW team or funding a new league/tournament.

This should be spotlighted so everyone on TL can retweet. We would find out the news in no time if all the people with twitter accounts retweeted as soon as possible. ^__^

if the wording is correct, ´big esports news´ doesn´t sound like just sponsoring an OSL, plus don´t the MBC and OGN announce the league sponsors? Sounds like it could be something much more wide-ranging.
As long as they don't announce they're switching to SC2 that's great. It would be SO anticlimatic for us BW fans. OSL sponsorship is possible, but does it deserve such a hype ? I mean don't get me wrong, as long as OSL can find sponsors, we will have OSLs, so it's of course great news !
OGN did tweet back few days ago, and they are organizing another OSL. Given the timeframe, I think its the perfect time to release the news and start the preliminaries. When it is stated on Monday, they can do the prelims on Wednesday/Thursday of that week, which seems to make sense at the moment.

Yes, it's soooo unlikely that a BW team will announce something BW related. You know, WHY would they?
Mostly because Starcraft 2 is so big now. Also, I, at least, would think that if it were Broodwar related they wouldn't have said that its "E-sports related." That sort of non-specific language sounds like the announcement is something outside of their normal realm of operations, ie Broodwar... It is entirely possible that I am wrong but with how big Starcraft 2 is right now and how fast its growing betting that an ambiguous "E-sports" announcement has something to do with Starcraft 2 is almost always a bet with decent odds.

Yes because when anyone says "E-sports" they mean SC2, right? Especially Koreans, since you know, that's their national sport, right?
Yes, I know that my sarcastic replies are getting annoying and I really care about that, right?
edit: and just so you don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it's impossible that this is SC2 related. It's certainly a possibility, I was just ridiculing your notion that it's unlikely that it's BW related just because they used the term "E-Sports" instead of BW, when in fact BW is a synonym for E-Sports in Korea.

Sc2 is big outside Korean yes, but in Korea E-Sports is pretty much BW. At least so I heard.
If it was any other team I'd be laughing at the ones claiming it might be SC2 related, CJ however is somewhat close to Gretech if I am not mistaken and thus its not quite as far-fetched. Not that I am saying its likely in any shape or form that they'd be switching or adding the game to their lineup.
Anyways, keep on retweeting people so we'll get to know asap.

Haven't you guys read? Effort is probably studying to enter university, he won't be returning. And Savior to eSports is like tdot is to TL. So the only sensible possibility is that Hite will be sponsoring the next OSL.

I would buy the hell out of crossdress Leta bobble heads. They would line my walls and I would cackle like a madman before them at the start of each day.
In my opinion it's SC² related, since they twitted it in english. You can see on the account that they only tweet in Korean, so obviously this time it will be some kind of international-related news. This times it's more like "Let's hype the e-sports fans worldwide".
And for me Hite Entus e-sport = starcraft (not beer) And worldwide starcraft community/competitions = Starcraft 2

I haven't been around for quite some time so I'm blank on these.
effort retired unexpectedly 9 months ago, recently after winning an OSL. KeSPA rules say he needs to wait a year before reapplying as a progamer
A gross oversimplification of the match fixing scandal is that there were players who were payed to lose games so that people could bet against them. It was a lot of lesser players, and the biggest names were savior, hwasin, yarnc, and luxury. All 13 (I think it was 13) players are permanently banned
As for my guess: I think that they are sponsoring the OSL, that seems the most plausible

effort retired to study. Not sure what was the exact reason but it was not anything bad like slump/scandal
Well i am curious because they tweeted it in English. Maybe some sort of global BW talent search like what Estro did. Or an OSL overseas. Although not sure how viable that would be.

Biggest bullshit I've read in this thread.
They can tweet in English; they responded in English before. When the tweets began, they posted in both Korean and English.
Recently, they recognized that TL is still part of BW. They know that the world cares. So just saying that this is going to be SC2 related because they posted in 'English' is the most bullshit argument I've read in past few days.

How far did you go back into their timeline? o_O Hite is probably the team that makes the most effort to reach its foreign audience. They reply on Twitter in English, and they have an official Facebook page set up that gets updated during each match.

Why would they announce a player that isn't on their team is going to play SC2/ EffOrt said he's not changing games already, stop posting shit. Hopefully its OSL announcement considering MSL qualifiers already been played.
they might just generally be opening a starcraft 2 division. doesn't have to be big players for it to count as a major announcement, as it would be the first pro SC:BW team to open up a sc2 branch

hahahahaaha so true.
it is on TV now,on AniBox.
If its not on OGN/MBC hardly anyone will watch it , ESPECIALLY when BW is on at the same time.
Well if it's on TV now maybe it has some more prestige. Without viewing figures we just won't know. The PC bang statistics were quite surprising though.
oh snap I forgot all about superfight. This time they can't spam there best player and just win every time (sAviOr > ace superfight thingy, NaDa, and boxer). NaDa vs Reach was the first thing I watched live so this has a special place in brood war for me.

maybe, but I'm just putting it out there.but if hite is going to take interest in SC2,so will the fans and other teams.
screw that I completely missed out on all superfights,I want superfight!
A tournament sponsorship or a recruitment notice seem way too small to be a "super big esports announcement". It almost has to be some kind of new tournament or event.
Savior's banned from GomTV events and tentatively banned from NASL as well, and in any case that's not really Hite Entus news at this point. Do you think they'd let him back into their organization in the first place?
I have a hard time thinking this will be SC2 related, except maybe tangentially. It might be related to the lawsuit in some way.

Because people from the sc2 forums see "big announcement from hite" in the BW forums and automatically go "HITE FOR SC2". =_=
SC2 guys look at the BW forum?
I'm a Starcraft 2 guy and I still watch Broodwar and read the Broodwar forum Also, Seems like SC2 is probably the most likely announcement... The manner in which it was announced definitely seems to suggest that as does the timing. Also, the idea that being a Kespa Broodwar team means you can't have an SC2 team doesn't make much sense. FOX already does... By the way, what's with all the hate for Starcraft 2 in the Broodwar forum? It makes me sad to that kind of behavior. Sad and disappointed...
It isnt SC2 related.. In korean it says something related to current Entus team which means BW and not SC2. Its probably OSL sponsorship or player related.
I highly doubt it's Sc2 related, simply because one of Hite Entus's sponsors is OGN (Hite Sparkyz used to be called OGN Sparkyz, and still had them as a sponsor at the time of the merger).
My money's on Hite OSL, but Effort's return is a possibility.

No way it has anything to do with sc2.. Sc2 hasn't really caught on in korea.
Effort is gone for 9 month, so in 3 more month, he can actually make a return so lets not completely put that out of the equation. But see from the news it says "Big esport news!" So it would possibly to be more of esport general related news and not anything specific, I still say "bring back the superfight!"

Best possible news from this would be Effort returning. I know, it doesn't seem very likely, but with his appearance at the MSL, I'm still holding out hope.
Maybe the idea is he trains for 3 months until he's officially back in. Or maybe they can bend the rules or whatever.
I'm not even particularly an Effort fan, but it was sad to see the second best zerg suddenly quit.
Retweeted~ I wonder how big this could possibly be. At this point in BW's development there doesn't seem to be anything that can rock the scene so to speak.

To be honest, Hite is just trying to gather attention from twitter users.
However, they're pretty good at doing this. Their fan interaction has been amazing in the past (CJ Shirts, Starcraft mecca) and even nowadays, with addition of twitter. They try to interact with their fans a lot.

You know, I've been one of TurN's biggest fans since his very first game as a progamer vs Type-B in 2009, but January probably has a good reason for not using him as much. He hasn't been on the team that long compared some of those 'noname zergs' and even if he has a great record so far this season, none of his wins were really clean. Plus his individual qualifier results have been less than impressive so far. He's been very promising so I think January just wants to take it slow with him so he doesn't get crushed by a potential losing streak.

I hope it's the MSL. I can see a brand new "Hite: Blackout MSL"
Maybe a managment switch up? This is a long shot, but I know effort can't come back to play for like another 6 months or so, but what if he came back as a coach or something? But the whole sponsoring a starleague seems more likely. I just hope they're not trolling us and it's just a slightly different uniform. I'd be rather unhappy.
you guys might be thinking "too" epic... it might be like a special fan meeting for like first 300 people to tweet to a tweet they do about the "secret" fan meeting. Where they can hang out with the progamers and etc etc... I think that's more realistic than some crazy big announcement having to do with big movements.
Edit: the original korean tweet just says "surprise news" nothing about big news. It's just a surprise :o
since they are telling people that 1 post reduces announcement time... it might just be epic? It has like a countdown to announcement? Hmm. Maybe it's big, maybe it's huge, and maybe... just a random event.
Guys, dont forget Savior HIMSELF recently also said he had some big plans and was going to announce something. And with this secret Entus news now.. Just connect the dots. The teams in a secret Kespa meeting must have agreed with it to bring up SC:BW ratings given current worrysome financial situation of Proleague and MBC.
If this were in the West, I could see Savior being forgiven and coming back to redeem himself. But given Korean culture and how universally hated this guy seems to be I doubt we'll ever see him in any official, important BW role ever again.
I'd love to see sAviOr back, but it obviously isn't going to happen. I don't see why so many people are ruling out an sc2 team though, FOX have a bw and sc2 team, Entus should be able to as well.
I don't know if it's been suggested yet, but I hope it's Coach Cho coming back. He was awesome, it would be HUGE news, and it seems to be more plausible than both Effort and Savior ever coming back.
Considering the KT coach compared Savior to a child molester and the commentators in one show didn't even want to refer to him by name you'd have to be pretty delusional to think he's in any way involved in this.
Maybe CJ will finally make some use of the fact that they own GOM and OGN, purchase the remaining stockshares of the two entities, and announce a merger.
A compromise is made between Blizzard and Kespa with CJ as the mediator, and GSL will be available on cable TV through OGN.

FOX technically has an sc2 division, which is made up of the wc3 players (Moon, Lyn)....

I doubt that it would be completely inconsequential to have a foreigner playing BW pro again.
Maybe CJ will finally make some use of the fact that they own GOM and OGN, purchase the remaining stockshares of the two entities, and announce a merger.
A compromise is made between Blizzard and Kespa with CJ as the mediator, and GSL will be available on cable TV through OGN.
lol i can't decide whether I'd rather have coach Cho back or this... an amicable end to the whole mess would be AMAZING

Agreed. This would be outstanding news. AND the name change of hite entus to CJ Sparkyz (or better yet CJ Entus...).
All I'm saying is that when there is a rumor that comes out of Korea, it always seems to be true.
And even if it's false, then he still has the perception of a match fixer.
Come to think of it, didn't he do an interview with artosis where he apologized to everyone? I'm going to go and see if I can find it.
Edit: lol, I cant even remember then name of artosis' site. I know its something like "sc for all", but I can't get it right. Oh well, I'll just assume I'm wrong on that.
because of the timing, im 99% sure its just gonna about a special event (superfight or not) that will be happening between the break of PL R4 and R5. 99% sure.

He didn't apologize for match fixing. Even the interview says that the mere suspicion already ruined his life. People believing that this is true aren't helping him.

It was very upsetting about Sangho. I remember reading the interview and had my feelings about the media in Korea messed up quite a bit.
Estro had such potential too before the scandal and SC2 hit. Not that I liquibetted them if SKT or KT were against them, but Really and Action and Sangho were great.

I dunno if it's so much the media in Korea as the fact that people on TL repost random rumours from Korean netziens as if they are truth... Much like the Savior/coach story.
I would say something like it's weird how much power Korean trolls have, but then I've met plenty of people who believe random crap they read on the internet about regular political events, so I guess we need to start teaching kids in school not to be so gullible.
Is there anyone keeping track of how many retweets there have been? I already did mine! I cant' wait for the news. Maybe a hybrid clone of Effort and Savior, Savort or Effior.

So far 46 on korean tweet and 100+ on english tweet.
My first tweet is this haha. I'm excited to hear the news! Hope it's a special event like someone else mentioned. CJ Fingerboom would be just as good though.
Thread just went up a few minutes ago in SC2 land which reveals that KT is sponsoring the next GSTL season. In light of that news, it seems a little more likely that this announcement might have something to do with SC2.
Though I'm still keeping my fingers crossed for some exciting BW announcement.

Maybe he doesnt like Sc2 at all though, I mean if you compare it to Sc:BW, its pretty obvious which one is the best I would say, even though I follow the Sc2 scene aswell (Mostly because of the foreign community, since its so much bigger than the BW one, I mean what foreigner plays with the koreans in BW?)

Don't think he's talking about SC2 if that's what you're thinking. Or at least I hope not since like it or not SC2 is not a remake of Brood War in any sense of the word "remake".

There is a SC2 mod that converts SC2 into BW. Complete with dumb pathfinding, no mbs, 12 unit selection max, etc. If he isn't referring to that, no idea.

Pretty much a progamer from US. Played broodwar at the top level in west and now sc2.
Basically if you have been following Sc2 news, North American starleague (NASL) got announced month ago or so and Incontrol was hyping this "announcement" before it got announced.. Thats why the jokes about it.

The problem with Effort is he hasnt been seriously been playing BW for months, he is bound to be very rusty as his test match against Hydra showed. It will me ridiculously hard to pick the game back up after mechanics deteriorate. Savior on the other hand, is a dark horse. He has been practicing like crazy apparently, with the solid performances on Afreeca streams and all. Furthermore, he has promised big plans for future, and we all know what happened when he promised to crush everyone in 2009.+ Show Spoiler +
He did, though unfortunately not in tournament settings
Given Entus' big influence on the Kespa council, there might be a shot of getting his license back.
for the sponsor to open another branch is definitely a possibility though. Fox technically has both BW and SC2 division.
And considering that KT is the likely sponsor for March GSL Team League then nothing can be ruled out.( do note that the information was put in the gomtv website and then taken out a while later)

Idra was allowed to play SC2 because he was a token foreigner, with little to no hope to make it into the A-team. He couldn't care less about what he was doing.

never said it was exciting... sort of agree that if 'the big esports announcement' is the OSL sponsorship, it will be a pretty lucklaster event.
To me the only news worth all this would be effort. Since I dont believe that would happen...this is just going to be something thats going to be cool but nothing super cool...
Disregarding the match-fixing scandal, Savior coming back would not be very significant. He'd be about as competitive as Reach or Yellow at this point.

We are not against it, or atleast I am not. However Sc2 is expanding like crazy everywhere whereas Brood war stays the same, hence we would like to see BW expand even at the cost of Sc2. That, legal issues and people's opinion on BW vs SC2 shouldn't make it hard for you to understand why we don't want more SC2 but more BW instead.

if it was about sc:bw it would probably not be called an esport announcement. having that in mind sc2 is the only logical thing i could think of.

I said in the original topic, even just looking it like its a regular career, that it was silly for him to quit a decent paying job that hes very skilled in for anything else. There's plenty of time after BW to do anything else he wants to do. Why throw away his talent for nothing now?
Nice, now Flash has the chance for his revenge. Their last proleague match on Judgement day was quite intense and epic. Whatever it makes for more great games like those are worth the wait!
Wait what why? Wasn't he studying for university? It's cool we get to see Effort again (eventually when he can come back) but it feels like he is giving up his academic goals.

He has a lot of time until August when he can regain his license, so I guess he'll just go to somewhere like Seoul Cyber Univ(like JD, Midas, Best, ...)
Fuck yes!! Now SkyHigh just needs to regain his skill while he's in B-Team and Leta improve a bit, and CJ's gonna have a beastly line-up of Effort, Hydra, Snow, Movie, SkyHigh and Leta. ^_________^V

I think it was more of a... "What am I going to do after I retire from progaming when I don't have a univ degree?" thing instead of a "This is what I want to do" thing.
i wonder if he will actually ever get back to form. so many pros that try to come out of retirement never reach their former form.
even though effort is much younger than most retiree-coming-backs, and he was only retired for < a year, I really question his ability to comeback. good luck to him though
Well... I'm glad that this happened... Though I think that for Zerg strength in general we need strong Jaedong at the first place... for no other Zerg has such a winning morale. Remember how other Zergs (including the typically mediocre great, who was in difficult situation and behind 1-2) went on in MSL after his epic series vs Snow.
I'm guessing he jumped ship because he probably thought BW's days were numbered (which I don't blame him for a bit). Now that things have stabilized, to some degree anyway, he's back.

The other teams will never know what hit them . We are ready for a Bo12 format if necessary . Fuck yeah Effort , you were to talanted to quit entirely .
What happened to Hogil, don't remember him leaving.

Is this really a good idea? I mean..he's very behind in term of practice now. It would be hard for him to get back to top tier class.
So...he got a good vacation out of his retirement and lost a huge fat contract and now he's starting from scratch from the B-team.
Consider how fast his rise in the proscene suddenly came about though. After losing to tossgirl a year later he went on some insane streak in the A-team. Gotta be natural talent involved, and i think someone like that can make a quick comeback.
May I actually kind of liked it that somebody would just get an OSL Title and then move on to pursue a different career. I think that would have been better for him in the long run. Well, I'm still looking forward to the games though.

Pave the road of return for boxer.
It think its somewhat like if you're a famous moviestar or popstar. It can be difficult at times, it can be really stressfull and nerve wrecking. But afterall, staying on the stage, having your fans cheer for you, and just be the in the middle of attention is something many would miss after it's gone.
That's probably the reason 3 bonjwas tried their luck with Sc2.
I think what will be exciting is, if he can get back to his previous condition by August imo there'll be a load of S class gamers, more than ever before. Provided no one goes into major slumps.
Also it's hilarious how the OP prior to announcement added that it is impossible for Savior and Effort to come back so people should not be speculating about such possibilities
That's probably the reason 3 bonjwas tried their luck with Sc2.
what 3 bonjwas?
iloveoov never did, Savior couldn't even if he wanted to... Flash... well we all know where is Flash now and what's he doing :D
so only Boxer and NaDa...
july is a bonjwa for me, even if never crowned.
Can't really agree with you on that one. July won 3 OSLs but they were 1 and 3 years apart respectively. He was really really good, but he was never better than Oov and I think most people will agree his last OSL was a bit of a fluke.
It's funny how almost everyone who is saying they are "disappointed" are SC2 fans. Hello? This is posted in the BW section for a news about BW proteam. This IS a big news and a very good one.

People can't be disappointed because it's not that big of an esport news as they think?
So they really aren't going to change their name back to CJ? No matter what?
I know the contract thing, but can't the name be like CJ Hite or CJ Sparkyz or like CJ Hite Squared just to put some emphasis on the Hite part but let us old CJ fans cheer for just CJ?

The biggest issue is that this doesn't matter until after proleague ends I believe. Unless they extend the schedule it usually ends before the end of August. Still, next season I wouldn't be surprised if Hentus opens up a round of proleague undefeated or something.

That's right.
In terms of licenses, players cannot obtain a progamer license if they retired for at least a year.
Effort joining the team and practicing is fine (which is something that I forgot about). He just can't go out and play matches.

Ya, I almost forgot for a second that Effort won't be able to come back right now.
But I don't doubt that he'll be able to get back in quite good shape pretty fast despite his long break, he has so much talent. And I think he might be able to influence Hydra a lot and make him even scarier. :O What a scary duo.
I wanna get an interview with Effort now to find out why he decided to come back.

Lol I know which makes the effort more amusing. I myself didn't consider it at all either, but obviously this is nice example about how being stickler for facts can leave gaping blind-spot among possibilities.
On March 21 2011 05:00 ninini wrote: Nice. But why so long to get a license? That's like almost a half year.
I'd imagine its because they've given out their licenses already this year and they won't get anymore till the end of the proleague season. Either that or the penalty for retiring, though I thought that was 12 months not 6.
To me the only news worth all this would be effort. Since I dont believe that would happen...this is just going to be something thats going to be cool but nothing super cool...
Ok guess I was correct...the only thing worth all this was Effort :D...glad the second part of my post was a fail..CJ never disapoints :D:D:D + Show Spoiler +

I was the one who PMed the OP to add those parts because I knew the 99% of the posters would only focus on those two... It made sense at the time, and it still does - who'd think that Entus would release news about something that won't happen until half an year later?
I made the prediction a long time ago, that he will be the greatest player ever, when we all look back on BW. Hopefully now I get to be right!!! He's obviously really really up there- but I'd like him to really stomp faces now.
We all know how much good that long breaks can do for players, Bisu is the first that comes to mind. I hope he comes back refreshed and falls in love with BW all over again! EFFORT HWAITNG!!!!!
edit: LOL I wonder if he played SC2 and was like... you know what... fuck this kids shit, imma play me a mans game!

Holy crap. I had a sliiight hope that Effort would come back, but totally did not expect this news. Yes, with Effort back, he can help make Hydra even better! Two scary Zergs helping each other out and becoming an unstoppable force! :D Hentus is going to be scaaary in the 11-12 season. I wonder if they'll go on a rampage and be undefeated. It must have sucked for Effort to realize that he was too far behind in his studies to catch up and go to uni though, poor guy. At least he can go back to earning the big bucks through gaming again. Now all we need is Kwanro and the Emperor to come back.

I really hope the leagues are still all in tact by then. Speaking of which, does that mean he won't be able to come back until this round of proleague is over? Well, whatever else happens, he'll surely help the team just by being there to practice with them. Best of luck to effort and his return!

Doubt he was warned for his guess. It's more likely he was warned for spreading misinformation (such as KeSPA disallowing SC2 teams).

Ugh, it's common sense. They already disallowed BW teams from having sc2 divisions (the only reason why WeMade has two sc2 players is because they used to be WC3 players, and the ban prevented only BW players from switching while remaining on their teams.

I'm pretty sure he was warned for derailing the thread. Kinda what you're doing right now.
I'm cautiously optimistic. EffOrt hadn't looked quite as good in 2010 (beating Flash notwithstanding, of course); he had only won 54% of his games, down from 66% in 2009. Even Flash has talked about how he has problems when he takes a break for a few weeks; EffOrt retired in August and even if he's played a bit since then, he's still very much out of practice.
So I expect him to struggle at first, but hopefully a long break is in the end what he needed and he'll be able to pull through. He's fairly young, so that should help him.
Effort - A+~S class Zerg Hydra - A class Zerg Leta - A class Terran Snow - Top 5 Protoss SkyHigh - Unarguably best TvTer in the world along with Flash, and emperor of Postseason (11-1 record) Horang2 - Probably the best PvPer in proscene right now Movie - A good protoss capable of doing amazing things

He has half a year to practice and get back to form, so he should be fine in that regard. His kwanro-ish win over flash did hype him up quite a bit, I don't know that he will live up to incredible S-class standards. Should still be able to be a solid lineup player for Hite.

I don't see how that's going to be a problem when he has 5 months of pure practice time before he can play an official game.
I'M glad that EffOrt is giving pro-gaming another chance. It's better for him to try other things so he's not left wondering about opportunities that he may have missed. Maybe he will come back with greater focus.

i have to respect your opinion, since it is not my place to point out your comments that are very biased but kwanro wouldnt won a starleague from beating those opponents + flash at his prime in finals.. give the guy some credit atleast instead of being a blind fanboy.

I don't mean to go too far OT here, but Kwanro's MSL run [1] did include wins over Flash, and roughly the same competition as Effort's OSL run did [2]. Anyway, that wasn't even the gist of my point earlier, I said Effort was a solid player, I just think he was overhyped.
Kind of sucks that he can't play until August, but he will definitely need some time to get his skills back and adjust to "newer" trends. Does this mean EffOrt is done studying or is he going to try to do both during this time?
Glad to hear it. Even though I hate effort because he beat Flash in the OSL the bw scene needs more strong zergs. Hopefully he still has what it takes to be an S class player.
So amazing, was a huge Effort fan. I remember those awesome cheerfulls for him in proleague "SHOW US THE 'EFFORT'", "WE NEED THE 'EFFORT'" Effort fighting!!~
lol I was wondering why everyone is cheering for the come back of a cheater... totaly mixed up savior and effort >.< great to see a player back whichs face resembles the race hes playing- totaly looks like an alien but anyways welcome back
oh man that actually happened? i am glad he is coming back even if i am not his biggest fan; the scene felt like it had a hole when he left it will be crazy good for hite to have both effort and hydra if effort can return to his previous level of play
This made me really happy to see. I don't like very many Zergs but I absolutely love Effort. I just hope he can play at the level he was before he left, he's got a lot of catching up to do.
Next proleague season - Effort, Skyhigh and Movie owning it up would make all CJ fans rejoice!! protip to effort: make your interviews more interesting and less CJ face
I open Teamliquid then bam, "Effort returns to progaming". Nice news to get you going. I haven't been around long enough to see him in action but this is nice.
Yes I love effort! one of my saddest bw days when he left. now one of my happiest when hes back... half a year of massive training he will be back better than ever

I was about to say that there are team out there that would love to have an MSL runner up zerg on the team, then it occurred to me...
Really interested in his motivation to come back I thought he would leave forever or at least as a player. Can't wait to get an interview with his motivation in it.
Does Effort specify why he is returning? I hope it wasn't because university entrance exams were too tough for him...that would be pretty disheartening.
Looking foward to the Phoenix to come back in September, I missed your play effort , hope you haven't lost your touch! KIM JUNG WOO IS BACK YEAHHHHH~ ~ ~ ~

He's a fantastic pro-gamer, but if I recall, he was leaving to figure out what he wanted to do with the rest of his life. Perhaps it was just salary, as was mentioned during his departure as well, and Hite Entus decided to compensate him more heavily.
I hope he provides an explanatory message. Either way, excited to see him play again. Would love for a mini-rivalry to develop between him and Hydra as the team's top Zerg.
When he quit, it looked like BW wouldn't last another month. Everything was crumbling; players were switching to SC2, teams were disbanding, coaches were resigning, sponsors were fleeing, and it looked like Blizzard/Gretech were doing everything they could to push the whole thing over the edge.
I bet Effort probably figured BW's days were numbered and decided to get a head start on moving on, and I don't blame him. At least outwardly, it sounds like BW has stabilized quite well (with a little more optimism!). He probably came back because of a combination of that and missing the progaming life (as dreary as it sometimes sounds, you do have fans, an audience, very good salary for A to S class players, and you get to live with your friends).
Was Effort ever seriously going to be a scholar? He may have just proceeded with the "preparing for uni" thing because it was the thing to do at that point in your life for most people. Not terribly familiar with the ultra-competitive academic environment of Korea, but that's often how it is in most places in the world. I don't see it as a terrible loss to postpone it a bit longer.
We'll just have to see how long it takes for him to be good again... But if he get his old skill level back, Hite will be pretty unstoppable. Hopefully they'll sell some of their players : their line up seems a bit crowded right now.
Effort AND Hydra AND Snow AND Leta AND Movie AND Horang2 AND Skyhigh on the same team? Now they can snipe any Protoss (Horang2), any Terran (Skyhigh), still be left with good all around players (Leta, Snow and Movie) and two top players (Effort and Hydra). Ouch.
Knew it. Effort <3 I was sad since he was my fav zerg even being higher than Jaedong. Future of Zergs is Hite. Also massively sick lineup Effort Snow Hydra Leta Movie. If Skyhigh was playing better it would be one of the sickest lineups if not the best.
Effort, Snow, Movie, Leta, Hydra. If Skyhigh can get his act together and Effort gets back into form Hentus might just replace the CJ of old for me... maybe
I wonder what made him come back.. Since salary was stated as the reason when he left, I wonder what the terms are. Maybe during the 6 months he tried studying and decided he wasn't going to be very good at it or be able to compete with others that have been studying all their lives.
