I knew there was more to this story than just s1mple being homesick. I was honestly never a big fan of nitro or elige and I definitely never bought into the hype that nitro was the "best NA player" but at least elige had somewhat improved lately with s1mple on the team to make up for the fact that nitro has been pretty bad this year. I am simply not convinced that this team has the drive to win especially with adren back on the roster. We saw how his performance was before he realized he was on the chopping block. These guys are just too content with being paid to play a video game and never winning anything. S1mple literally carried this team to the semis with his awp play and now they are losing to optic gaming and selfless - koosta's old team. GG

Journalism citing an internal source like that can just be total bullshit. So I'm really not taking this just at face value... The fact RL really doesn't like TL isn't going to help me with that.

I am sure there is more to the story but in the aftermath of s1mple leaving you could tell hiko was very angry and he isn't the kind of guy to air dirty laundry (perhaps he is the anonymous source).

Where did I say that? Also, I'm just not convinced by "Source close to" and no one should be. Just like the NiP affair, until it broke the news that this was actually the case, with the court thing etc. I hope Liquid will clarify that. Also, like, he didn't try to ask them. He tried to ask O'Connor, but he declined to comment. The person that apparently got screwed declined to comment? To me, the case is just not closed.

Of course this raises more questions than answers but outright dismissing it doesn't make any sense at all. And once again, I'm not outright dismissing it. I'm just saying this is no evidence, this is still rumors. The fact that it's a routine in journalism doesn't make it suddenly right nor actually believable. Actually, would it have been anyone but RL, I'd might be prone to dismiss it. The fact it's him makes me still wondering and paying attention.

Not everyone has it within them to do "everything it takes to win". Sometimes the cost is too high, and I can understand a team not wanting to be under assault from an outspoken teammate every time they do something he doesn't like, even if he is a very skilled player. Take a step back, and stop over-dramatizing the situation.

There is a reason many teams don't take a chance on s1mple, and its because playing with him is quite difficult. Liquid tried, it was an inconsistent road, and now they are going in a different direction. Will the team see the same level of success as they did in Columbus? Perhaps not. Doing everything it takes to win is what professional competitors are paid to do or they have to at least pretend that is the case to keep the competition legitimate in the eyes of the spectators. I never bought into the idea that s1mple just "wanted to go home" like so many other people did so easily. It is nice to see that there are contradictory storylines out there that go against the official narrative, so no, I won't "take a step back," because there is no reason to. Liquid just lost the best player its csgo team has ever had, their most popular player at the major by far, and the #1 reason for their short-lived success. That is a big deal and something that should be discussed more thoroughly as to why it happened.

Case may not be closed but then again RL has a decent track record of breaking big stories. It's not like there's anything in that article that's completely unbelievable either.

So in Threat's case, sure he is worth a lot of money, especially to a franchise who struck gold with their CS:GO lineup.

S1mple is young, so I hope he can grow out of this and mature. Being a skilled cs player is more then just being a starfragger. You need to be good with people as well, that's why I love this game, team spirit is essential. Skilled + toxic != skilled player

If s1mple got bad, it was after the major when he lost his shit, because before the major he was TL's primary asset. Barring the hurt feelings in the team, he was a net positive. I'd say the future looks grim for TL without him. Maybe they'll have more fun though so that's nice.
