Have you tried gambling for Harrington's Waistguard?

On some rifts, you can get it active most of the time. The buff is pretty substantial and is good for bursting down champions and elites.

blackthornes is not my end game gear, just a temporary (i hope) slot filler until i get my fucking tal rasha set!

If you're not hunting for the torment only sets then it's probably more efficient to blast through rifts on normal/hard. Time yourself doing 10-20 rifts on each difficulty and see what the difference is.
Since I'm still looking for thunderfury, shard of hate, and cindercoat I'm still just doing hard rifts finishing them in 3-6 minutes each typically.

1000 act II bounties later... still no Gloves of Worship. 6 shields, 4 cloaks, 0 boots, 0 gloves. Nothing in the last 45 caches. FML.

I would expect that on some level they want people to be Rifting on non-Torment difficulties. Well it's either farm legendaries from caches in split farm normals. Or farm legendaries from torment rift at the moment.

Why would anyone farm lower than T1? You can't kill faster than One-Shooting Mobs.

It's funny I hear people say that but often they don't even have the finish a rift in <5 minute achievement.

I am such a noob lol, my poor templar trying to gear her up will probably take forever. The problem I have with the drop rate changes is that it hits normal split cache farming really hard. I used to be able to get tons of legs just doing split farming, and 1 shotting-elites. Now I'm lucky to get 2 rares off elite mob. At this point I've given up split farming (which was probably the best way to gear new level 70's to do torment plus stuff). The problem was the drop rate increase in rift is that it doesn't fix the fact that low density rift maps still exist. I would have been just as happy with rift drop rates if they doubled or tripled density for the low density rift maps. how was normal split cache farming effected? The elite packs have lower drop rate. So before you would skip to bounty and kill all elite pack on your way there. But now I'm not sure if elite packs are still worth doing. The reason it's so effective is because hard to master is not rewarding to do. When you progress with character you want gear not increased xp or gold. Increased xp and gold only important once you already have the initial softwall of gear.
You don't need all legendaries to be able to do Torment 1 competently, you just need good rares that you reroll with the mystic. Once you can do Torment 1 easily, then you can farm for higher Torment levels.
You talk like gold and EXP don't matter. Well upgrading gems and rerolling stats ain't cheap and you'll want those to do higher Torment levels.

I'm just saying there's no point in doing anything inbetween splitfarming normal, and going straight to t1.

keep in mind you need to do bounties to get rift shards. thats what i meant with split farming still having its place, because it's the most efficient way of getting rift fragments.

Regardless, your original post is incorrect. Gearing up for Torment is not hard.

The buff to rift's legendary-find exceeds the negative impact of that nerf though, so those people can just rift instead and find their legendaries that way instead. The only reason to do bounties are for the rift keys or bounty specific legendaries.

the nerf to unique monsters doesn't apply to those found in rifts. like the rift bosses

Did you guys notice that the "Aspects" in act4 still drop nothing but gold ? I know Blizz nerfed them back in the days cuz people farmed them but it's been years now. .
