Im currently using 2 1 handers, bought 850 dps. each with +50% crit dmg
would using a 2hand xbow + quiver be better? or what dps would i need the xbow to be at? ive seen a couple on ah with 1100 pretty cheap, would that be more dps then the 2 1 handers?
Yup it's better

I use mark, I use it on everything that I dont one shot (elites + bosses). It's really cheap and I use the one that generates hatred (mortal enemy)

Whats your build with it?

This is embarassing, but how do you use two defensive skills. I have Defensive, Hunting, Archery, etc.

with the nerf to mob damage, what do you all think is the minimum hp to survive 1 hit from small/white mobs? being able to survive that alone would really cut my glass cannon woes immensely. 25k hp?

I don't think this build is for everyone, in fact unless you do a lot of damage per shot and high crit chance/damage, I wouldn't recommend it.
What I currently use is
1.) Mark of Death + Mortal Enemy 2.) SS + Lingering 3.) Prep + Battlescars 4.) Companion + Bat
Left.) Hungering + Devouring Right.) Cluster Arrow + Loaded for Bear
Passives: Steady Aim, Grenadier, Vengeance.
Steady Aim: Beats out both Archery and Sharpshooter for dps boost, so must have in my last slot Grenadier: reduces cluster arrow cost from 50 to 40 Vengeance: increases hatred mana pool by 25 (125 -> 150) + health globes give back discipline and hatred
The idea behind this build is to be able to do huge amounts of burst dps + have the hatred regen to keep moving during a farm run. With both Grenadier and Vengeance, you can shoot 4 cluster arrows, and with Bat + Mark of Death + Vengeance health globes, you can spam pretty frequently. I crit for 350k regularly, and crit for over 450k sometimes with cluster arrow. Azmodan goes down just fast as pre 1.03 nether tentacle (~15-20 seconds to kill him), and I 1-2 shot all normal mobs.
Edit: I have 103k dps with the above passives and I can do cydea+azmo runs in 10-15 minutes.

The amount of health you need is inversely proportional to how much armor and resists you have. Also need to know which act you want to survive.

search for mods + values you consider the most valuable then set max buyout to find out lowest priced item with comparable mods/stats
once you find the lowest priced item(s) that match your values & mods then reduce those values by 5-10 or more to see how much pricing starts dropping with a little reduction in stats

hmm act 3? minimal resist. 3k armor. just vit. can't really afford adding AR while maintaining DPS. Mainly wanna find out if it's viable for me to reach.

there's literally an explanation two page back, at least do a search -_-
The +% element damage does show on your overall dps, the +elite damage doesn't. If you're losing damage from wearing SoJ it means either A) the random affix you got your SoJ wasn't damage-oriented and/or B) your other ring must be pretty decent
But the +% elite damage and 7-8 disc should more than make up for it unless you're at something like 30k dps at which point the 3k dps is pretty huge..
Good SoJs are good to find considering how rare they are, the best I saw I think was one with dex/vit, also saw some with atkspd or crit or critdmg, those are good too but I prefer dex/vit for more survivability. You're also getting decent mf/gf with SoJ too.

Adding all resist is far more efficient defense wise. Around the 25-30k region with maybe 150-200 resists should allow you survive most of the ranged attacks in act 3 (dragon fire balls, spears, etc). Of course, after you get hit you need to top off somehow so good luck.

My ingame stats say I have 42k damage and my profile says I have 31k dps. (Not using sharpshooter btw).
How are they different??

Given my stats, I don't know what would be the best thing to replace - i'm at like 1.5 mill right now so im pretty poor so anything I sell (if its worth a lot) will be a pretty big transition. Basically, I don't know how much all resist/armor/HP is the best combo, b/c if I'm going to drop something, it'll decrease 1 or more of those stats. Img here: + Show Spoiler + I've managed to get above 50k dps while still maintaining relatively to other DHs very high defensive stats. I really enjoy that playstyle over the 100k dps, 15k hp playstyle.
Its pretty much all about money if you wanna get 50k+ while still maintaining survivability to take a few hits from mobs (1.5M wont get you far :-/). You're likely gonna need to either farm and sell lots of gear or play the buy-sell game on AH. Then you'll look to snipe underpriced dex+other offensive stat+vit+all res (sometimes its obviously not possible to get everything you want, like on amulets, but get as many stats as you can) rares on AH. There might be a few good legendaries out there for that purpose too, but generally they dont have all the stats you'll be looking for. I wouldnt care too much about armor since resistance is generally more effective. Though anything helps of course.
For upgrading your damage I'd try to get a helm with similar stats to what you have but with +crit too, a higher +dex belt and most importantly: get a better weapon. For upgrading your survivability, i'd look at getting better shoulders and maybe another 2nd ring. Overall you're also missing +vit on a lot of items. I dont mean that its anything wrong with that though, getting your resistance up is the best first step to get survivability. But once you already have +res on the item you're better off finding a similar item with same dex/res/other stats but an added maybe +60-80 vitality on top of it rather than just getting the same item but +60res instead of +50. Helm, shoulders, bracers, gloves and even quiver are examples of that.
In the long run, you might even look into breaking up your Natalya set unless you're going for the 4set disc regen. Though you definitely wanna make sure you end up in a net gain of stats via some spreadsheet or similar before you do that.

Hi
im currently hitting a wall with my DH.
only a link of the picture cause its big: + Show Spoiler +https://dl.dropbox.com/u/18256003/equip%2020120625.png
I try to get more damage/better equipü but i just cant buy it cause its too expensive. I think i lack mostly good quiver, bow, cloak. Since im not getting forward questlike i just farm act1 (act2 still is hell T.T) which works okayish. I have 205%mf including my templar but it doesnt seem to change anything at all.
At the moment im searching for a 1h xbow with crrit damage above 1k damage which is just too expensive. I played a 2h bow before the patch change but after the patch the attack speed was just horrible which made me wanna go for a more speedy weapon. What you think I should do right now? any suggestions which itm i should replace first? should i get 2 1hxbows? should i wait for the expensive 1h xbows or spendd my money first on other items? How does 2x 1h xbow work: attackspeed and crit hit will be added from the second weapon i heard. What if i get a _bad_ weapon with like 150%crit damage and attackspeed for the second slot just for the adds? Do i fire them alternating or only with the first weapon? which stats will be added by the second weapon?
thanks

What kind of wall are you hitting? I glanced a bit at your stuff and your resists is pretty damn high for a DH, but HP and defense is a bit low (you wanna be rolling 40k hp, 4k armor at least) for someone with nice defensive gear. Regarding dual wielding - It first gives a flat 15% bonus attack speed, and the crit damage stacks on the character. Other than that, since the off hand slot is great for giving stat boost, attack speed boost, crit rate, max discipline and hatred regen, I dont really see why you have to go for a double hander, since you MUST have similar damage on both hands, else the damage you deal will be really wonky, and will result in a massive dps drop due to the low damage weapon
I do know 1handxbows are capable of giving max discipline, hatred regen (Im pretty sure), but the price of having these stats on a high damage 1 hand xbow vs getting a decent Dead Man's Quiver (up to 19 or 20% increase attack speed, high crit rate, max disc, hatred regen, etc etc...) is just stupid. The only good thing I can think of is the crit damage, in which case you would be better off getting a slotted 1xbow for 1k damage and dump a 60% or 70% on it.

Hey guys Im having a loaded for bear build, with evasive,ss,prep, spike traps and I'm wondering if grenadier would be better than sharpshooter? Is it worth using it?

Im just feeling that im doing to less damage. Bfore the change i had a faster attackspeed and did 100k crit damage all the time. Witht he new weapon and patch I get 30k-60k crit damage and it feels bad not to oneshot "normal" mobs.
So you suggest getting a 1h xbow. kk thanks! now i just have to collect like 20 millions more ^.^ and get more armor/hp
thanks for the help!

Seems like a lot of people are stacking up on resists/vit gear at the cost of dps. Kind of a shame since the highlight of playing the DH for me was the potential for extremely high dps and even with higher survivability, the tankability of a DH is a joke compared to my monk. Anyways, I've been trying to convert into fully indestructible gear while going pure glass cannon. This basically returns you the pre-1.0.3 death zerging playstyle by mitigating repair costs. It's also quite cheap at the moment considering how most people still don't see indestructibility as a important stat. If I want to do serious tanking, I just switch back to my monk.
