With Danetta's Spite you get +170-200 Dex and 9-10 Discipline. With Calamity you get +10-11% IAS, hatred regen and 20-50% chance of marked for death (+12%Dmg).
Gah! I can't decide which is better.
I'm leaning toward Danetta's spite being slightly better.
I'm currently sitting at 97.5k DPS and I can't find an upgrade that puts me at or over 100k DPS that: is in my budget (~400k) doesn't drop my eHP under 200k (I'm at 217.7k atm)

Swap out your nats ring for a cc cd dex rare ring then swap out your boots for nats boots 170+ dex. Should net you a bigger EHP/DPS as well as movement speed. Nats boots will be ~500k now and then so you'll have to farm a bit more gold but this would benefit you the most. Nice amu btw compared to the rest of your items, self found?

Interesting skill changes to Rapid Fire. I recently tested out a high MP build that included no hatred generator, just Ball of Lightning for AoE and Rapid Fire versus single targets. Together with Marked of Death, it almost worked. The hatred consumption/generation was about even, but the problem was that the hatred was not increasing, just slightly decreasing, so the build didn't really work.
With the new hatred cost, I believe it should be possible to actually generate hatred with Rapid Fire and Marked for Death for Manticore users with a somewhat low APS. At the same time, it's doing much higher damage than before, which is pretty huge since it was already possibly the highest single target DPS skill. It would also obsolete all the hatred generator skills, and probably make it possible to free up the Bat Companion slot as well. Finally, with Perfectionist, Rapid Fire would yield a lot of Discipline as well, especially with a cc% Dead Man's Legacy/SoJ/Mara's. It's easy to swap out DML whenever you're going to use Rapid Fire (elites), and just keep another one on for Ball of Lightning vs mobs.
Somehow I feel that with this change, Blizzard just made Rapid Fire obligatory for all DHs that use Manticore. It might just be that strong if it really allows for infinite hatred, Disintegrate/Ray of Frost style. Anyway, since I've tried this build before and always been using Marked for Death in co-op games, I will go for it in 1.08 for sure.
Tried the new Rapid Fire a bit, the single target damage output is simply outrageous. I have 240k DPS w/ Steady Aim farming MP6, with Gloom and a Azurewrath Enchantress it's not too hard to stand down bursting down elites, plus I'm using the Webbing Shot rune, most Elites dies even before I burn half of my Hatred. It now replaces Cluster Arrow as my major single target skill, but for white mobs Rapid Fire doesn't do too well, so I still suggest keep Ball of Lightning or Multishot.
I replaced my hatred generator with Rapid Fire. I even GAIN hatred from using it, so why not. As I mentioned above, it also works really well with Perfectionist. I'm using Preparation with hatred refill but honestly I can probably swap it out because I rarely ever run out of hatred/discipline. I was standing in the middle of tons of plague/desecrator with perma Gloom and rapid fire on MP10 while barbs were just standing in safety watching. It crits for 300k+, it's just crazy. The downside? It's still a single target skill and Ball of Lightning simply does not do enough damage compared to other classes' AoE skills. Plus it's a pain swapping out RF/BoL quivers all the time and you can't Gloom in the middle of RF cause it won't life steal then.

I've been trying your no-generator build as well, I went MoD and Preparation with Hatred restore, it works amazing, still needs time to get use to the style but I really like it. The only problem is I sometimes have problems in longer fights such as against Extra Health, Frozen or Arcane Enchanted (need to move) due to low disc (38 atm). I'm farming MP6 with 200K DPS w/ Archery and 470 AR, do I need to get a disc piece?

I'm assuming you mean Nightstalker and not Perfectionist. I don't see how +10% Life, Armor, Health and -10% Disc cost effects Rapid Fire.
digmouse: Hmm I don't have a problem with that. I have a SoJ with 10 disc and 60% cc, Nighstalker procs more than enough with that. Just try to get close to the elites and don't move too much, take Gloom when in arcane and stuff it will easily keep you at full health. That's the good thing, you can act as a tank as well I have 460 AR, 65k life, 250k DPS, 1.72 APS. Oh btw I'm using the reduced hatred start up rune, but pretty sure I don't have to.
So, DH suddenly became easiest class to do MP10 ubers with? Maybe? I only have 189 all res and I can live through anything on MP5 so far (havent tried higher)
I need to swap out my gear I think as I was stacking crit/IAS before (with some CD), but how are you generating hatred from rapid fire?
Whoa, I just discovered that you get infinite life steal if you use Gloom before Rapid Fire and then just... shoot. Not sure how long it's been around, but it's pretty sick. Unfortunately you don't get the damage reduction from Gloom though but it's enough to tank a lot anyway, including the Uber Ghom gas on MP8 (haven't tried higher).
I've been running MP10 Fields of Misery + dungeons, it's sick for DHs with this build cause you can perma Gloom and just gather all enemies so they bunch up. Then when you got 5 stacks you go to Decaying Crypts if it spawned, I swear that place has the highest mob density in the game right now, my god. Finally a good place for DHs to farm on high MP.
TheRabidDeer: I've done a video Against the first elite I use Marked For Death and generate hatred, against the second I don't use it and lose hatred VERY slowly. But with Preparation you'll never run out of it as long as you proc enough discipline with Nighstalker... but it's kinda random. As you can see all I do is the RF/Gloom bug for the life steal, and if I see the health go down a lot I take Gloom for safety.

Yea I think I need to swap out my ring for a SoJ for more disc or change Inna chest for a natalya, but I haven't figured out a way to upgrade my gear. http://d3up.com/b/603872 this is what I look like and I'm farming MP6-7 quite well, what should I upgrade if I want to go to MP8 or even higher?
You need more life or else you will be one shotted by many enemies even with Gloom. Your nat ring is really sucky compared to the other ring, replace inna's chest with natalya's 200+ vit and get a similar ring to your other one or a SoJ. Remember IAS is low priority on DH so instead of mempo it's better with a rare/tal rasha's helm with dex/vita/life%/ar/socket/5%+ cc. Your amu has good damage but try to get some vita/life% on it too. Instead of dex/vita roll on inna's pants get one with higher vita only roll. All in all you will lose DPS but you can always get that on a weapon upgrade.

Your armor is ugly low. I would say get:
+Armor on The Witching Hour, is very cheap to add +armor
Strongarm Bracers with +AR, you lose 1.5cc however gain Armor, +life% and 20or so dex.
240+ Dex, 75+ AR 60+ Vit Vile Ward. Yours are junk.
This is preference but, 9IAS, 300+armor Mempo. That 1IAS difference will more than make up for the ~40dex loss.
I've tried using Rapid Fire builds, but it feels absolutely horrid. It's basically designed around abusing constant lifesteal and never, ever moving once you've planted your feet...problem is...
- Vortex breaks channeling. - Waller wastes Hatred without dealing any damage. - Knockback breaks channeling. Including normal enemies like Grotesques. - Frozen makes you move. - Fire Chains, Plagued, Desolator and Molten make you move or tank more damage than a melee ever has to. - You can't dodge normal power attacks without breaking RF...meaning Berserkers, Bulls, Executioners, etc.
Which is a shame, because it's easily the best source of damage a DH has right now. It just makes you the most immobile and most melee class in the game.
True. I hate knockback so much as a DH. I don't even want to play weeping cause of that. I wish there was some immunity on items... I've managed to tank uber Siegebreaker but it's really tough cause sometimes his knockback attacks will hit you three times in a row if you're unlucky with the dodge and then you're basically dead even with Gloom.
As for vortex/waller/frozen, yeah you have to move but that's true for every other skill as well. I suppose you could use Smoke Screen vs frozen and keep the channeling going. The shittiest thing when I play with others is that I still end up tanking everything cause enemies just attack me even when I'm far away, so it's hard to use Steady Aim with RF. People have been using Smoke Screen to remove aggro though so maybe I should give it a try.
