I already noticed that on NM I found a bit of gear with +1.5% crit chance, and gems can give you a lot of +% crit damage. The skills would mainly be focused around CC with Hungering strike + Shatter shot as main spamming skill. Passives would be Night Stalker, Archery, Sharpshooter.
Weapons would preferably be 2 1handers with as fast AS as possible + Dex/Vit/Crit% mods and preferably socket for emerald (max level emerald == 100% crit dmg increase on weapons).
Thoughts? Is 2 1 handers better than 1 hand 1 off-hand(quiver) ?
I was thinking about the Archery bonus. They seem very significant. But it would depend on how much %crit chance you get on the rest of your gear it seems. Either a 2hand Xbow or 2 1hand xbows would be the best choice. Are quivers weapon class btw? IE what bonuses do gems give in their sockets? Because if they don't give weapon bonuses, 2 1 handers would definitely be preferable due to emeralds in sockets.
But disregarding all that stuff, it's either 10% crit chance or 50% crit damage. Maybe slow AS weapons are even better, due to picking Sharpshooter as passive. With the extra %crit chance each second, a slow AS weapon would have more % to crit each shot.
I've also had a different thought that high AS weapons with lots of +elemental or +flat damage could do very well. Has anyone figured out yet how monster resists work?

In my opinion 2 1-handed xbows are way better. 2 DMG-DMG sockets and 2 times 100+ dex is way too good. You will get way fewer bonuses from just a single weapon and then there's the differences in attack speed and dps, better kiting and also(imo) dual xbows having the best Archery bonus.

Overall, I like the DH. Up until you get bola, it feels like he's really bad at dealing AOE, but it gets a lot better as you level up.

I'm utilising shift (attack ground) and basically issuing move commands, then holding shift and issuing attack commands, so when I'm kiting back my mouse is moving like a pendulum back and forward, back and forward. Using shift means I don't have to click ON an enemy to attack. I'm assuming this is the standard, correct?
Thats what I do. If its not the standard now, it should be. :D

Wait till you get multishot & Dual Chakram. Those are the AOE cookie cutters.
Btw, anyone know what the most optimal singletarget damage setup would be?
I'd guess Marked For Death + hatred generator + Hatred consumer. Impale maybe?

45 DH just reached act 3 nightmare, I find impale penetration the best for single target, do any of you guys agree?

edit: although that might be because i play solo Hungering Arrow seems really useless to me, all of the runes for it are meh, and the other options just seem to outperform it in any specific context. Entangling Shot has a nice slow and not really much lower dps. Bola is great AoE+stun, and grenades are the best option if you're getting close enough. I've switched among all of them, but never seen a reason to switch to Hungering Arrow. Hungering arrow can go around corners, and with shatter shot, it's pretty awesome. Entangling hits like a girl, bola takes it's sweet time to kill, although it is kinda useful for some things. Hungering also does it's damage as physical, you don't see much that's immune to it. You dont use Entangling shot for Damage, you use it to kite the hell out of everything. I been running Entangling(Chain gang) with Elemental Arrow(screaming skull), Caltrops (jagged spikes), Vault (tumble), Fan of Knives (Hail of Knives), and Multishot (Fire at Will) along with Perfectionist, Vengeance and Numbing Traps
I'm still not convinced that Hungering Arrow out-DPSes Entangling Shot in the first place. It only has a 30% chance to pierce, whereas Entangling will hit two targets all of the time. Anytime I'm using the skill, it's because my hatred ran out, so there are usually only one or two enemies remaining, and they're usually not in a line. Thinking on the runes, Entangling deals up to 300% with Chain Gang or 220% with Shock Collar (it's slightly less since the DoTs don't stack). Hungering Arrow will almost never deal that much damage, and even against a single target, Entangling+Shock Collar is still equal to Hungering Arrow with any non-Cinder Arrow rune, plus you get the imba slow.
So yeah, I really don't see why Hungering Arrow is useful, but perhaps I'm missing something, because everyone seems to like it. Every time I switch it it, it feels like I've greatly nerfed my damage and survivability.

how do you use two primary skills? or two of any other?

You should hungering with the final rune for the crit effect. THen get the crit increase passives. Then it suddenly becomes a very good AOE attack

single target for 1 big sack of hp? always take bola with stun. Better have the enemy stunned 70% of the time than have 10% more damage.

Been owning up all acts hell mode with this build: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/demon-hunter#WRXdVl!aeb!cZZYbc
Use smoke regularly. Bola for single target and frost arrows for groups.
Frost arrows is insane!! Target the enemy in the front and the ability will hit all those behind him.
Might swap rain of arrows out for companion, not sure yet.

All you need to survive inferno.
Smoke whenever you get agro. Rain of vengence as last savior and insta 60 percent heal when it gets though.
I've had a much easier time since! Edit: Also, Smoke Screen is incredibly OP. You're literally immune to everything.

I think that in all ways, smoke screen is superior to tumble, which is contrary to my initial thoughts (tumble op!). There's no wind-up animation, and you can use it to dodge incoming projectiles very easily. For those who choose tumble in their spec, what is your reasoning? (just trying to get some discussion going about the hows and whys instead of just posting specs)
For those just posting their spec, I think that people can make any spec really work, as long as you have a slow, an evasion skill, hatred generator, a stun.

From what I've seen on inferno in general and demon hunters on that difficulty, having SS+vault seems almost mandatory. SS is 100% necessary. You can theoretically get away with not having vault, but not having a movement ability is extremely rough when you're not allowed to change abilities/runes and realize there are times you'll just get stuck. They really need to remove the cast time on tumble though.
The most common inferno build I've seen is hungering/bola, frost arrow, SS, vault, prep with heal, and bat companion, which lacks single target damage. Bat is probably the only skill you can reasonably replace, for more damage or group utility (sentry probably).

You definitely need tumble with the rare packs. Molten, mortar, arcane, plagued, stuff like that you need to gtfo as fast as possible out of that. It sucks that Vault doesn't go through waller walls though... If you get walled in a sucky spot and there's shit all under your feet, you're as good as dead.

Yeah I agree. You NEED smokescreen, and theoretically could forgo vault, but it's just way too risky. And yeah it needs to go through Wall, since your only option right now is to SS and vault directly at the guy, hope you don't take any aoe (which is pretty much impossible), and vault away.
