Earlier in the development cycle quite a few people were complaining that it wasn't dark enough, and that Diablo was too colourful etc. I believe there is even a mod made by someone that tones down the colours and brings out more of the darker colours. So that's where the joke comes from.

Just wanted to post this so people know. If this is already topic sorry I couldn't find it. On May 16 2012 18:59 mint_julep wrote: Jesus, no kidding. Hey Blizzard: We broke your Easter Eggs the same day as launch. On May 16 2012 19:40 lightrise wrote: wow jesus hahahaha. We knew there would be one but the fact that they already found the stuff and the recipe day one is pretty hilarious. NO NO NO. All the guy found was a recipe for a staff. There's nothing special or hard about that. It's obvious that the staff is linked to something special, but it is not a cow level, (one can't even assume it's a level at all without knowing the fact that it actually is for one) and it's also not necessarily the only thing you need to do to get to the level WAY TOO MUCH assumption and way too much over-blowing of what was going on. The guy just found a recipe that says everything he needed to get the staff — he didn't need to work at all to find out what ingredients he needed.

To address that and to elaborate more on what I said: all a person needs to do is find that recipe/plan, then find people who have the other items, then know where to go after crafting the item. It's not hard to do this very quickly when you have millions of people playing. It's obviously not intended to be anything particularly secretive. One can't easily have secrets in this day and age of the internet. The title of the video is inaccurate too if you're referring to where I was saying it wasn't a cow level. It isn't a cow level.

Whimsyshire apparently isn't the cow level.

can it be repeated? Is there a cow king which if killed stops you being able to farm it?

Found the mushroom in act 1 on one of the cathedral floors in a patch of mushrooms. Besides these two I haven't found any other reagents (besides Writs Bell) Oh and all the reagents are account bound, meaning they cannot be traded or sold between players.

I'm level 33 and I gathered all 6 objects (As well as the 100 000 grand for wirts bell) in one afternoon. I'm currently just short of the crafting price (you need 50 000 and I'm currently on 30 000). If you just know where to look for each thing it's not too troublesome. Though if you are going at it blind it could take you a good while. Btw 100000 grand is 100 million =D To generate the staff of herding, there's only nightmarish, hellish and infernal plans. Does that mean that the secret (name favorite animal here) level is only available in these 3 difficulties and not normal? I must add that the items can be found on normal though.

Yeah sorry, I meant bucks. I gathered all the items on normal as well as entered in act 1 normal. The monsters themselfs seem to be about one difficulty above what you currently are. If you enter it in normal the level will be about as difficulty as early nightmarish. I assume the same will be the case for higher difficulty so it will scale above the difficulty you are playing.

The recipe you buy in act 4 is to upgrade the staff to the next difficulty. "Nightmarish staff of herding" requires a staff of herding and 200k for example so you will still need to farm the recipe off Izual as well as all the other ingredients. It is a good way to get the blacksmith achievement for teaching your blacksmith a recipe since it only costs one gold though :0
