Any good skill builds for a HC WD? Thanks a lot :D No. You have to reroll a new character to activate hardcore mode.

Trying to get a bunch of shit from AH now...we will see I tried like every single proposed build and am still sticking with basically Dire Bats> everything. the power level of the champion groups is just ludicrously high compared to normal enemies and bosses Hey - just curious, how are you engaging these groups? I know the vamp fast tremor mobs seems impossible, but the key is persistance. It all depends on what kind of monster they are. However, I find sac+dogs with the HP refill pretty good against these. Also, a lot of running, just run the eff away until you have CDs again. Slows are really important. Don't use summons against vampiric mobs since they will just feed them HP and do little damage in return. DoTs (Haunt, Acid Rain, Locust Swarm, etc.) are essential against these, keep them up at all times. I try to single one out at a time with fear. The 6 second one really helps to split up the mobs in more open maps. For tighter ones it just gives you more time to run/DoT. AH is def an easy way to get items as almost anything you want is on there currently. Get tons of Vitality and Int. Use a shield and stack some dex too in order to have a decent block chance. > DO NOT USE WD OFF HANDS, USE A SHIELD <

Passives Jungle fortitude, Vision Quest and Rush of Essence Poison dart splinters (flaming dart when u have the dmg and att spd) Soul harvest with the healing rune Spirit walk with the mana rune Sleeping giant gargantuan ACID CLOUD SPAM FOR DA DMGZ Spamming acid cloud to mobs then spirit walking in the middle of the fight soul harvest for 5 stacks and double your dmg aswell as heal yourself, then spam some more acid For weapons I've found the highest dps weapons (whether it is an axe or a wand whatevs) the best. The offhand/dagger thing isn't working out when u have a crappy gear

Could you possibly post your build? I'm curious as to how well you're able to kite with builds like these. I feel like grasp of the dead would be much more valuable than garg when you need to kite champion packs. Thanks :D

Note: I'm level 32 at the moment Was just messing around with something like this (just beat normal with it and it seemed pretty good), and I was wondering what other people's thoughts are on it. I have found it necessary to swap out darts for firebomb and wrathful protector for restless giant in some cases since this build doesn't really have any aoe damage to speak of.+ Show Spoiler +

Consider switching to bats or some other skill that has a high mana cost to make use of your passive. You should also make use of Soul Harvest. The int buff it provides is far too high for it to be left out of any damage build. ? Pierce the Veil increases mana cost and damage, not sure why you think this is good to use with a mana dump.

right now were stuck to visionquest-direbat or the poison 20%/20% defensive poison builds, and neither are particularly fun =\

It might be worthwhile to switch over to that once you hit 40 though. You're already using all long cooldown skills so it shouldn't be too hard to make good use of the passive and increase your damage output considerably.

You just need four skills on cooldown. Most people include Grasp of the Dead (8 second cooldown) because it's such a great ability to control the enemy. Long cooldowns are somewhat bad since you won't be able to save them for optimal timing. The summons are very easy to keep on cooldown and don't really suffer from this as much though. In hell the summon seems to die more often than the cooldown for me at least (never bothered with dogs). Big Bad Voodoo however, you want to save for something special generally since it's a two minute cooldown. Having to use it on a weak pack to keep it on CD and then not having it for the elites is a bit depressing.

http://eu.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/witch-doctor#fQRjUd!bXU!cYZYcZ Clarification: I used this build in collaboration with a monk tank who knew his business and some other damage dealers. The monks cyclon strike pulls all enemies together and the bear zombies deal massive aoe to burst them down. It even works pretty well versus champion monsters and bosses. I held hex, mass confusion, spirit walk and soul siphon on constant cooldown. Hex and mass confusion are nice crowd control abilities, both with a 20% dmg boost on the affected targets. I used health regen runes on soul siphon and spirit walk. Soul siphon gives you a nice damage boost as well and spirit walk lets you evade arcane lasers even break out of freeze. Big bad voodoo is reserved for champion packs and bosses. Cons on this build are the need to have your defensive spells on constant cooldown, you can't use them situationally. Even so you're out of mana within about 6 seconds, but most of the time the damage makes up for it.

I am using a similar build to most people here it seems like. Instead of the bats i am using zombie dogs with the explosive beast rune. Up until hell i was using spiders as my primary but in hell you need to kite so much that poison darts become more useful. Hell is currently easier than normal and nightmare was for me.

I'm getting tired of soul harvest/dire bat spamming so I've been experimenting trying to find one that I really like, haven't quite found one though.
