Now that I have my new wizard decently geared I barely play because if another dc death happened I would probably quit, so until they address dc's ill probably just sit on my wizard for now unless I have people to play with. Came back to D3 recently after quitting long before paragon/monster power was implemented to try it out. What DC issues do they need to address? Are the servers unstable or something? Been playing last 3 days without any issues so far.

It's part of the game so it's part of hc. I think I will cry when I lose my current monk but I'm slowly trying to come to terms with it. It WILL happen eventually, hopefully in some epic fight or something and not dc but it's always an unavoidable danger lurking.

I lost my sick monk to this--it had 3 items that I self found including a 6% andy's, WKL socket /w LS, and a rig with high avg dmg+AR+4.5cc+LoH. Damn dude that sucks TT You might consider putting the game files onto a flash drive and running from there (reddit thread) or, more expensively, get a SSD. They are fucking amazing.

Yep, that's how I lost one of my wizards long ago when I was top 5 on the server =( Then I figured out I had D3 installed on my shitty HD instead of SSD. Doh.

I wonder what I'll learn next. there are seriously still people left who dont have the windows key disabled? O.O i thought that was the first thing you do when setting up a new pc on which you also want to play games..

For everything else, it's just an inconvenience.

Not nearly as bad as when I used to use function keys as keybinds, though. Hand of Freedom bound to F4. No prizes for guessing what the "self cast" modifier was bound to. "I'm about to get rooted, using freedom on myself." "You're not moving, did it bug? Wait, why did you just log out?" "Uhhh..."

Death still matters in SC...Dying is losing time to run back to where you were. Arguably the gold loss doesnt matter. The economy argument only holds if you engage in trade, I find it more enjoyable to get everything I own on my own but thats just me. Playing a witch doctor (arguably the safest char with minions build) doesnt give much support to the "more challenging" argument. Getting hit by attacks which you clearly avoided but still eat due to game latency, encountering single or multiple boss packs with some crazy mod combos etc..I have my qualms with HC altough I used to be a fanatic advocate of it. I just got tired of starting over, normal and nightmare are snoozefests. Come inferno and hell diff, end bosses are easier than boss packs for some reason..

Sure death in SC matters in terms of overall efficiency, but death in HC is Not An Option. It's the feeling of walking the tightrope and the challenge of staying focused that is the draw to HC for myself and many others, where it's all on the line every time you play. Knowing what your limits are and staying within them while pushing the boundaries is satisfying mentally, and it adds an emotional layer to the satisfaction you get from killing lots of shit in an ARPG.
