I'll be switching off between playing the Barb and leveling a WD, add for potential grouping / waypoint swapping fun times.

would it be better to post future hardcore class specific questions in this thread or in the individual class thread?

It's the third-ranked variation in the most popular build, so it's still good but it's not pure standard. The Cleave effect seems to be preferred at the moment, followed by the Stunner, then the big Rager. http://diablo.somepage.com/popular/witch-doctor#builds-hc

I would switch out garg for BBV if you're playing in a group, very useful for taking out the E's quickly on higher MPs.

I was wondering if it was cost effective to run the butcher in normal lvl 10 minions to try to improve my stuff and gain xp so I don't die in the second act ? (I'm curently lvl 20)

Also, check with the vendors in each New Tristram, sometimes they will offer great upgrades. If you want to take on act 2 immediately, would be a good idea to have the Templar with you so he can act as a tank and crowd control.

(I'm curently lvl 20) Boss kills are only guaranteed to give you rare items (yellow) the first time you kill them with a character, so re-running them isn't as good of an idea as it was in D2. Most items that you'll get while leveling up in D3 come from killing elites/champions (blue and yellow enemies). You can use the items directly, or salvage them for crafting materials. So, the best way to get better items is to follow a farming route that presents you with a high frequency of elite fights.

(I'm curently lvl 20) A couple important points you should consider when you are rerunning old content 1.) The drops off monsters is based off the monster level and not your level. So hypothetically if monsters in the Halls of Agony are are monster level 15, you will only ever get level 15 items regardless of your level. No amount of butcher runs will get you a level 16 or 17 item. For that you will need to move on to the next act 2.) There is diminishing returns off farming lower level monsters. As you start to outlevel the area, the monsters you kill will progressively give you less and less experience. Once you start moving along the quests and start hitting more current sections of the game you will notice that you are leveling faster. Basically these two points should encourage you to not linger too long on any particular act but to progress along normal->hell steadily. Now as a hardcore player, you need to balance the need to move along to get more XP and better drops with staying alive. Anyways good luck.

- Sockets - XP per kill - average damage (for example a ring that gives 2-4 damage is more damage than maybe 20 or 30 main stat since the modifier that those stats would apply is off a very small value.) Some people will pay outrageous prices for items that will last them a couple hours worth of gameplay when all you really need is a socketed weapon with a ruby.

What I was usually doing is killing evrything from the TP to the butcher, recycling and then selling it to the AH allowing me to buy good stuff.

Nice Video! I learned a lot from that. Why is there not the standard Hungering/Ball Lightning build or the Hungering / Multishot Build for the DH in your Video? Is this not viable in end game d3? How does the Spike trap build look? Hungering / Spike trap along with 4 defensive skills? Thanks a lot!

I really leaned on other people for the DH rankings / builds. Thanks for the input, hopefully someone else can shed some light on your DH questions.
