but hey... they choose to put in Trystane, who's whole story arc consisted of playing Cyvasse twice with Myrcella

Brilliant cast for Doran and Areo imo. Jonathan Pryce gave me the shivers. He's going to be brilliant as the High Sparrow :D.

They might also blend Arianne with one of the casted sand snake.

We're probably going to see a full blown romance between the two (ending tragically, of course).

Yeah they are going probably to simplify the whole Dorne, Oberyn's daughter are good; we know him, we liked him, we can relate if they want revenge...

i feel the next season will be the first thats really deviating a lot from the books..

I agree with this, it just feels like they've been slowly tweaking little bits here and there to lead up till now where they start to make big changes. Now with no LSH and did I hear the rumours right that Jaime is going to Dorne or something? Shits gonna get weird for book readers...

Yeah, I was feeling this before but now even more so after these cast reveals (assuming that was all of them).
We don't know the full ramifications of what will happen from the events of aFfC and aDwD, but so far the sum of those two seem to be much more about character development and expanding the world of aSoIaF than the previous 3. So that alone gives the show more room to deviate.
Also, they're getting dangerously closer to catching GRRM. They might be laying the groundwork for their own ending to the series...

I dunno how I feel about the cast announcements. If that's all of them they're either stretching the next 2 books out instead of totally merging them in 1 season or dealing out some massive changes. The lack of Greyjoys seems indicative of this. I'm sad Arianne has apparently been cut/merged. She hasn't done much yet, but I'm definitely looking forward to her PoV in tWoW. Aegon obviously has to be kept a secret, so perhaps he'll appear this season :o.
+ Show Spoiler + and omg where the fuck is Quentyn Martell?!!!! Everything is RUINED! :p

That seems likely without the existence of Arys Oakheart.
But replacing Arianne with Obara seems ridiculous. Why cut out the heir to Dorne and replace her with a random daughter of Oberyn's?!
Don't get me wrong: I like the sand snakes and them having more importance than in the books so far seems great. But why cut the strongest character in the entire Dorne arc?
Oh. I also don't much like Jaime replacing Arys, but at least that's defensible from a saving-on-casting viewpoint. Completely screws over any chance of plot development in the river lands, but I guess D&D don't think that's important.

if these are indeed the final cast announcements (barring Aegon) I am thoroughly disappointed by the cutting of greyjoys and arianne.... Looks like their silly deviations from the last season finale will go full blown into own "original" work

He's just giving us false hope that the book will come out in the foreseeable future, I tell you!

But of course Jaime to Dorne, might mean that we don't get Jaime and Blackfish, which was one of my favorite part of that book.
|
That's what I like to hear

WOW no Arianne and Greyjoys? Disappointing to say the least. I don't even care about the Sand Snakes tbh.

Omg, they recast Myrcella. The old actress is gonna be pissed....
Edit: that Nymeria cast.... really not sure where they're going with that...

And now she'll have an important role, ofc they recast it

It would genuinely surprise me if they actually cut the Greyjoys entirely. They're pretty important I think, especially with Victarion headed Dany's way.
Also, same thing, it would shock me if they cut Arianne. Her character is an excuse for gratuitous nudity. Why would they decide to remove her?
And lastly, the casting of the Sand Snakes and the Dornishmen in general is surprising, ethnicity wise. A white guy for Trystane, an asian girl for Nym, etc. I don't think it's that relevant though. People criticized the casting of Oberyn too when he was announced, and he rocked the part beyond belief.

Trystane is weird, but since Nymeria is a bastard, her mother could have been Asian looking (I know she is a Volantis noble woman)

I don't see how it says anywhere that Arianna or the Greyjoys are cut. The announced a couple of casts, I don't see anywhere that that list is complete.
