Hey TL, I got recommended this show a week ago and instantly got addicted and watched the first two seasons in the week. Season 3 just premiered on Tuesday January 17th on FX Network. I am about to start season 3 and thought id start this thread and recommend this show to you all im sure lots of you will love it you are not all ready watching!!!!.
Justified Plot - Deputy U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens (Timothy Olyphant) is something of a 19th century-style officer in modern times, whose unconventional enforcement of justice makes him a target with criminals and a problem for his superiors in the U.S. Marshals Service. As a result of an eager but "justified" shooting of a Miami fugitive while on assignment in Florida, Givens is reassigned to Lexington, Kentucky, in a district that includes his hometown of Harlan, a rural mining town in the east of the state.

Been thinking about making a thread for this show a long time.
"Justified" is simply amazing. Since the good ol "Deadwood"-times i've loved Timothy Olyphant, but Raylan is definately HIS role.
Season Two has been a marvelous piece of television that does not have to hide when it comes to comparisons with todays top notch dramas (namely Boardwalk, Breaking Bad and Mad Men (and hopefully Homeland)), Mags Bennett is one of the best antagonists i've ever seen. And the lead duo of Olyphant&Goggins (who was great on The Shield already, but like Olyphant was born to play this role) has a great chemistry, the rest of the cast is preeeetty good as well.
Season 3 is off to a good start in my opinion, i cant wait so see if it can quite hold the enormously high quality of season two.

Saw the first season. Would give that a solid 7.5/10. Does it get better this time around?

Season Two is miles above the first in terms of acting, plot and general suspense. Last 4 to 5 episodes have definately been one of the best television hours of '11.

I adore this show. It is one of the few shows left that i watch closely from beginning to end - without scrolling through the episode or browsing in a separate window. The atmosphere is amazing and Raylan is a total badass! The third season started very well, as expected. More, gimme more!

This show if great. The characters and setting of the show is pretty unique and fun to watch. Something interesting happens every week and its difficult not to get sucked in every time a new plot device is added.

Great show. Season 1 was good, Season 2 was great. Enjoyed Season 3 so far.
The best part of it is that it's often really, really funny. It's very character-driven humor, too. Couldn't really recommend it more highly.

Definitely one of the best shows on TV at the moment. Both season 1 and season 2 were great once you get past the slightly slow start. Really worth a watch.
I can't wait for season 3 to finish so that I can start watching it.

YeaH! Seriiously one of the best series out there. And that's in this amazing TV-pond of our times! I mean, Breaking Bad, Justified, Mad Men, In Treatment, The Wire, Boss, Homeland, Boardwalk Empire - how good was and is TV getting in the later years? It is astonishing! And Justified is, with its second season, one of its front-runners.
Great characters, very good acting, off the hook story turns and very good cinematography! I hope the third season will be as good as the second!

Just watched the 2nd episode.
Liked it quite a bit, even though it was a typical standalone series for most of its hour. Was quite nice to see that side of Art, especially since i kinda got the impression Art himself does recognizes quite alot of his younger self in Raylan. Limehouse as the 2nd "big" villain of the seasons looks promising at first glance...wouldnt want that happening to my hand :X
(oh, also i LOOOOVE Walton Goggins, while kind of reminiscing the first two seasons today i realized that for me, the series really started to pick up once Goggins became full time regular on the show - which must've been around s01e06)
gosh i'm so happy justified is back <3

weird how people say shows keep getting better and better when my kind of shows become trash....Huge fan of sci fi and sitcoms, and now with the death of SGU, it's rather sad...The only decent sit-com that has left is Raising Hope...... Guess I'm going back to watch SG1 and Farscape =D
Kind of offtopic here....but any good sci fi's lately ?

Well sadly, not really.
Fringe still is quite okay (and has some magnificient episodes in its 4th seasons, shame that the writers decided the majority of this seasons wouldnt appeal to hardcore fans as much..but oh well, gotta see it to understand it - still, as far as science and or fiction goes, its alright). I liked SGU and its approach, well too bad the average viewer could grasp it, lol.
Other than that...sadly not too much right now. Tbh since BSG there hasnt been a _really_ good scifi-show in my opinion.
// as for comedies, cant complain in that category to be honest.
"Parks & Recreation" alone can probably wipe the floor with 98% of the other comedies around...(as would "Louie", but its probably not comedy anymore, lol) Given that i still enjoy (not as much as before, but still) things like Big Bang, Modern Family, Californication, New Girl or the new House of lies, i'd say the comedy-situation right now is far away from beeing as dire as in the scifi-category)

Didn't like BSG that much really....Kinda sad that there is no show as a good as SG1 was back in the day in the sci fi category ... RDA killed every episode with great humor and all... SGU failed hard first 10 episodes but then it got on a good track, 2nd season being really awesome and actually every episode getting more and more exciting and intelligent...Oh well..

Well...i liked SG1 a lot, like 5 years ago. But yeah, back then i didnt know how really genuine good tv-shows can be.
With not much sci-fi around right now, and to bring this thread where it belongs, why not try one of the great tv-dramas? I get your "there is nothing like SG1 T.T", and that is good. I wouldnt want a 2nd SG1, its been there, its been a lot of fun for its time...but it fades in the light of recent tv-show, quality wise.
Try "Justified", give it a chance. People say the 2000's were THE great tv-era, but gosh, what great television we had in the last 3-4 years. (and shame on you for not liking BSG, it was by far the best serious sci-fi series of the last decade). "Breaking Bad", "Boardwalk Empire", "Mad Men", "Justified", "Homeland" , "Dexter" , "Game of Thrones" - and that just been one of the more recent well known with multiple other high caliber series (say "Luther", "Friday Night Lights", "Terriers", "Sons of Anarchy", "Treme", "White Collar" and so on ...)
I think todays series-junkies have no reason whatsoever to complain. :D
Just try it, but dont complain once you get hooked And best start with "Justified" while you're at it.
//edit: Shame on me i forgot Community as one of THE comedys in the last years one post before

Justified is definitely a must watch. It might be a little slow in the beginning but the show isn't all about shoot-outs and non-stop action. The show tries to stay within the realm of realism in the sense that the main character isn't killing everyone that looks at him the wrong way. The best thing about the show is the dialogue and story because of the humor and wit. Also, the show features a lot of "modern" day, high-noon duels. Instead of having two guys standing 15-20 feet away, getting ready to quick-draw, the show disguises this model differently. Also, Season 3 will have Carla Gugino and she is just a babe.
People will definitely need to give the show a chance and sit through a few episodes but in the end, the last couples of episodes for every season have been really engaging and entertaining to watch.
*SPOILER ALERT*
The little show down between Raylan and " The Ice Pick" Nix was really good. I wasn't wondering how Raylan would come out of it alive and thought what he did was pretty clever.

One of my favourite shows on right now. Raylan Givens is one cool cat! I just hope they get rid of Winona this season.

Just watch episode 3 loving the new season, this must be one of the few shows that keeps getting better and better every season
|
Love this shoooooooow. The first showdown between Givens and the new bad guy was really well done and sufficiently chilling. This show is probably the best at setting up amazing good guy/villain showdowns (2nd place being Dexter).
