Because having baby Luke/Leia and Chewbacca cameo in Sith wasn't enough.

The star wars universe is fucking huuuge and has such an awesome lore / setting for great narratives / films / whatever.
Look at some of the storylines they've come up with just in games, there just so much they can do with it all. except disney de-cannoned all of it, only films and non contradictory parts of the novelizations of the 6 films are cannon now RIP ion cannon I'm looking to get into the Thrawn trilogy. How is it as a read? Be as detailed as you can please.
Sorry i didn't see earlier, but its widely regarded as the best Expanded Universe story, there always seems to be several plots going on at the same time and they all come together very nicely, and it has the feel of the original trilogy, and the new characters are brilliant.

I wish someone made the entire Quinlan Vos storyline from Star Wars: Republic (mostly) into a TV mini-series or something. This stuff is truly epic.

Hopefully Harrison Ford getting injured won't really delay the movie. I'm assuming he Mark and Carrie only have small parts and it will still happen as scheduled.

Thrawn trilogy got me into the EU. Then I read pretty much every book until 40 ABY.

I read the Order 66 bit on Wookieepedia and that alone was gripping. I can't imagine what the actual story was like.
I'll give the Thrawn trilogy a go then! I have to finish off the Episode III novel though first. That's a definite work of art in itself, and hosting an Order 66-themed mafia game really got me back into the whole thing.

So the title is "Star Wars: the Force Awakens". Thats just boring.
I have a bad feeling about this if the title intends anything that it is a "dont take any creative risks at all" movie with no innovation. Comeon Guardians proofed that you can have fun and weird stuff in space and have succes!

What kind of fun and weird thing are you looking for while still keeping it true to Star Wars? I mean they kind of did that with the prequel series and they were mostly hated...Jar Jar....idiot droids...

Better title than "Attack of the Clones".
