Arrow is an American action-adventure television series developed by Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim and Andrew Kreisberg. It is based on the fictional character Green Arrow, a costumed crime-fighter who appears in comic books published by DC.
The series follows billionaire playboy Oliver Queen, portrayed by Stephen Amell, who, after five years of being stranded on a hostile island, returns home to fight crime and corruption as a secret vigilante whose weapon of choice is a bow and arrows.
On February 11, 2013, Arrow was renewed for a second season.
Anyone else watch this series? My friend actually introduced me to it, he's a really big fan. Pretty enjoyable and we're only one season in so far. It airs on Wednesdays, giving me another cool show to watch while I wait for the weekend!!
I'm in the same boat as StorrZerg. Watched the first few (3 or 4?) episodes, was very sad with their portrayal of Deadeye, and gave up on it. The plot didn't seem to be going much of anywhere and appeared to be more focused on the drama in their personal lives than the mystery of Green Arrow. Has much of this changed?
I understand the audience they are gearing the show towards is similar to Smallville's, which I also understand is not me, but I do very much want to see a great Green Arrow focused anything at the same time.
The show is a bit rawer than Smallville, and the Green Arrow here is definitely not the same one as in Smallville. However, I do agree that the show is remarkably similar to Smallville in all other aspects. It focuses on Oliver Queen's personal drama more than the superhero aspect. Even so, it's fairly entertaining and I like the flashbacks to the island.
I think it's a pretty good series now, never read the comic or anything though. Maybe not as exciting as Spartacus or The Walking Dead.. hehe, still.. a decent show "if you have time."
I really like the scenes on the island and how he came to survive. It's also getting more interesting in the later episodes because you learn that the boat was sabotaged and then Oliver's step-father goes missing for investigating the incident and lastly, that his mother is involved somehow.

I think they're more into chasing the bad guys, while still having the personal lives drama. U should really give it a shot again!
His voice sounds really really bad... Like absolute B-rated dialogue but, as I mentioned previous in the Spartacus thread with regards to Andy Whitfield, it's possible to go from mediocre and own the role and turn into a demigod of sorts (hopefully not die in the process though )
<3 my favorite series at the moment. Doesn't get the ratings it deserves imo I just love the plot, the story and the action it is great. Great script writting!
It's a light popcorn show I find. Nothing to deep or memorable but fun nonetheless. One of those shows you watch to kill some time but not something you savor even minute of.
This show is pretty awesome. It isn't your typical tv series that only relies on witty dialogues. There are some great series out there but I feel like some just rely too much on the writers creating awesome dialogues. In this show there is so much action going on and some of the created pictures just speak for themselves. Still, they have awesome character interactions.
Overall, one of my favorite still-running series besides Suits (it's just too damn awesome)
Mildly entertaining show... I also like the flashbacks much better than the current timeline stuff. Amell seems to struggle in the delivery of the emotional portions of the show. Not sure if that's part of the writing or just his limitations as an actor... but it seems really cheesy at times.
I really like it even though it at times is cheesy. Episodes have also gotten alot better now in my mind. At first not alot happened that was interesting. Now the storyline on both the island and also the current timeline have become more interesting. The acting at times is pretty meh but whatever its still entertaining.
I also think the island flashbacks are the best part of the show, every time I watch it I find myself hoping for a whole episode set there. As for the rest of the show its ok but I find myself rolling my eyes at some of the corny lines way too often which makes it feel like the true successor to smallville that it is. Also why do they keep refusing to give GA his trademark facial hair I guess neither actor from smallvile or arrow could pull it off anyway.
I don’t know much about the comics but I’m really enjoying it. It had good budget, nice music and although the main cast isn’t very good they have some good supporting actors and guest stars. I enjoy the cheesiness and I absolutely love how fast they go through the plot. It’s probably the most fun comics-related live action series from those which I’ve seen.
Could happen.. I'm interested to see where they take that character. Hoping they dont just leave him as an island only character but they prob wont, more likely just building him up right now. I hope they can keep Crixus around to portray him, he's definitely got the physical prowess to pull off an awesome Deathstroke and is also one of the few good actors on the show. Also they did the Deathstroke mask really well, that thing is sick. As for the rest of the fan service so far, not so sick.. + Show Spoiler +
Canary line, wtf corny. Roy Harper, too pretty boy. The Bludhaven sign in Deadshots window? eh, didn't see the point in it. New eyepiece is pretty cool thou The count was pretty nutty, interested to see how messed up he is when he comes back.

Window gets shot out? Better close my saferoom and walk towards broken window. Best assassin in the world? Take 3 sniper shots on a standstill target with big spread. Got shot? Don't worry there's a blood transfusion kit right here.
and that's not half of them.
I'm willing to suspend my disbelief for most of the show because it is at least consistent with the characters, but these were the worst for me. I definitely agree with the other poster though, the island is easily the most enjoyable part of the series. I'm not looking forward to catwoman coming back next episode either.

Considering the names of some of the people when looking at what they are in the comics , it's fairly obvious whats going to happen . And killing them off is not whats going to happen.
And yes alot of people know who Oliver is and thats not even my gripe . My gripe is that there's so many characters with way too big of a role that barely contribute anything to progress any kind of story. They're at best a bad sideshow.
Pffft this Helena (apparently Huntress in the comic) is annoying as fuck. Putting on some leather pants apparently makes you a highly trained assassin and the whole character is just silly on the show i know what they were trying to achieve but it just comes of all wrong.
I hope Deadshot kills Diggle soon . ( I hope this actually happens -.- ) I dislike Diggle alot . I liked that they didn't Deadshot off the first time he showed up . And seeing how he's pretty popular as a DC characters i hope they don't let Diggle catch him . Instead let Deadshot kill Diggle and then escape.
Her boyfriend is named Roy Harper. He needs a reason somehow become Olivers sidekick as Speedy/Red Arrow .
Could take a while though. The Deadshot arc is progressed way further and Diggle is kinda stupid anyway . His sister may be annoying but at least i kinda see why she exists . Diggle on the other hand ? No clue why the created him .
happens to make Laurel into Black Canary . Something with Tommy becoming the bad guy ? ( The name of the villain in the comics is Tommy Merlyn not Malcolm anyway. Maybe kill her father or something ? He's pretty annoying as well.
The show has gotten a lot better from the start. I originally really didn't like it because I felt it was too cheesy, then I remembered I had to constantly remind myself that it was loosely from a comic series.
Awesome episode. Only downside was the sister/boyfriend plotline they just threw into the middle of the episode which appeared to just make room for the actress/actor.
I still can't believe I keep watching a show where the lead is completely incapable of acting in any way at all. In my opinion its still a pretty bad show overall, but somehow still enjoyable

Because batman. Or at least arrow man. Maybe stealth man.

yea his acting isn't that good but its still a awesome show, but you might need to be a fan of dc comics to really enjoy it. IMO the actress that plays laurel(black canary) is quite good.
i really wonder what they are going to do with black canary once she goes hero mode, canary cry seems a little far fetched lol. Huntress and deadshot are pretty easy to portray in real life but there are many villains/hero's that will be a challenge to put in a real life scenario. They did a decent job with vertigo though, although it would have been cool if he had some kind of short range mist dispenser so he can easily drug people.

good show though... mainly good storyline and plot and development.
I'm just waiting (and hoping) that all the badass characters on the island will come back to the present time to kick some ass.... (please "spoiler" or PM me spoilers about this if you know from the comics)

Isn't he kind of supposed to be a bit ~off~ because he spent 5 years on the jungle island in terrible conditions. It seems to me his acting in certain social settings is deliberately bad/stiff in attempt to convey this, but other times he seems fine.
I dunno maybe I just love the show too much, it's my second favourite TV series that I've seen (second to GoT).
Jesus, this last episode had the worst writing in the history of bad writing. Even Caprica was better than this.
Oh, and yeah, the acting is overall atrocious, but I've gotten over expecting much in that respect. I am in the "I keep watching and I have no idea why" group.
They finally tie up the start of the series with the boat and the plot with the Glades, Oliver and Laurel. That and the fight scene in the hallway of the hideout where Walter was, best scene of the series so far.
Isn't it amazing how great the episodes are when there is no Sister character involved?
i agree really sick episode, diggle was really right about everything. Felicity in that red dress as well damnnn. The fight/actions scenes just keep getting better and better. I wonder if they are ever going to introduce another main DC hero, bruce wayne cameo? In the justice league green arrow and batman were pretty close, batman even personally invited green arrow in to the JL.
no island story line this epsode though Guess they wanted to clear up the shipwreck details. Really love seeing deathstroke be so damn badass

They're not going to tackly anything with any big ties to Batman. Too much potential scrutiny . At best it gets mentioned.
At the same time, he knows Ollie "visited" his mother. So as far as he knows, the Green Arrow isn't a fan of hers.(That is, if he doesn't know if Ollie is GA. I forget if he found out when he got saved.)
Awesome ending with an even cooler fight scene. But one complaint is that this season has too many random moments wuich would be better suited for later down the line. Besides that just fast forward the annoying sister and bad actor boyfriend character you got yourself a good episode.

How's John Barrowman in this? He was awesome in Torchwood and Doctor Who. Surely he could be a bright spot right?

I acknowledge the fact that Batman has set the bar really fucking high, but this show really doesn't cut it for me...
The acting is fairly subpar, but I'm not sure it qualifies as atrocious. Imo, it's a show that really grows on you. I thought it was garbage at first, and didn't watch it again for a while, but it ended up growing on me and now I really enjoy it. Just gotta remember it's not going to be realistic in a lot of situations. I think it definitely has an interesting plot and such that keeps you wanting to know what's going to happen. I also really like Laurel's dad's character... also think Laurel is way hotter than Felicity, who is still pretty banging herself in that nerdy sexy way.

For me it was the opposite. I thought this show seemed pretty awesome in the beginning until about 6 episodes in when I finally admitted to myself it really isn't that good. However, I've heard it's been getting better lately so I might try it out again.
Finale was ok , had some pretty cheesy moments but overall decent , especially since they went with a pretty suprising way to finish off the season . Which is really nice.
The season finale was decent, i expected a bit more from the last fight on the roof. The last episode is called Sacrifice, just like the last episode from Supernatural

Well same channel i guess especially since both shows run right after another.
Unexpected season finale. Which, I guess I did like from a viewer standpoint instead of what I thought would happen. Wonder how Season 2 will start off now...
Finished the season in two days. I really got hooked to this show. What can I say, I'm a sucker for action hero series. I really like the premise of the show. Also yes, Felicity > Laurel hundred times over.
Wow, solid start for the second season I think. But although I really like her, now that Summer Glau is a part of it, I'm really worried the show gets canceled soon .

good first couple of episdoes. diggle and felicity are a good team. Finally laural grows some balls, and yay they killed tommy off. i actually am beginning to like red arrow more and more.
Just started watching this. Is Felicity's character a running joke by the writers about how far they can stretch us viewers before we call bullshit? I feel I've been eased into it and then had them slowly up the level. At first it's "can you do data recovery on this laptop" which is a reasonable thing to ask the IT department to do. Then it's "can you trace these funds and bank wires" which is not unless she adds accountant and hacker to her skillset. Then it's "can you do that while also breaking into military black ops encryption". Then it suddenly became some kind of science thing where she had to identify a secret patented polymer and the only bit that even involved touching a computer was finding out who had the patent on it. Just now I saw "can you use your spectrometer to find out which tap this water came out of?". How does she even have a spectrometer in the IT department? Who authorised the budget where the IT department for Queen Industries requested money for a spectrometer and why would they have needed to have one lying around before now? And how does she have that skillset? This has to be some kind of meta joke, right? Like they were writing the next episode where they needed to have an expert from Queen Industries and they went "why not just have it be the same girl" "well because it's not IT" "yeah, but that's the joke, we'll have it be always her even though it's basically never gonna involve IT". Either that or she's screwing someone on the production team to make them keep hiring her back even though she's basically an extra/plot device.

Not to mention Felicity hacked in and told forensic to destroy Arrow's DNA. I mean look at Arrow who dodges bullets over and over again but his arrow is much more accurate than the 1000's of bullets flying at him.
She has literally every skillset and very little of what she does involves either IT or IT related skills. At the very least if I were Arrow I would be wondering who the hell she is and how she can do these ridiculously improbable things. Like I half expect him to just go to her in the next episode and ask for some guy to be murdered and then for her to grab a case off a shelf, open it up and start assembling a sniper rifle. At this point why not?
PS: how the fuck is oliver going to get out of this one? I'm sure he's been semi-trapped like this in a scene before, I guess it just looks more hopeless when it's at a stand still
Anyways you're watching a tv show about a rich spoiled kid who got stuck on an island for 5 years where he transformed into a mix of Bruce Lee and Robin Hood. This is beliveable to you but the fact that a nerd chick from MIT can do some science and they have a spectrometer lying around somwhere is unrealistic? :S

that would be incredibly random, although not a bad thought.
i did find it a bit awkward that dozens of armed men just kinda hung out around Laurel all day waiting for him to come... . Although I'm not exactly sure where she works at right now.

Umm, what? I'm thinking you haven't watched all of the episodes.
Yeah, I posted when I got to the bit with "can you do spectroanalysis".
If you check some trivia on her wiki she was meant to be in one to but her chemistry with Stephen amel (Oliver) and the fans liking her caused the writers to write her into the show and then make her a regular season 2.

to the average retard the IT guy at your company and a hacker are basically the same thing, the only reason your IT guy isn't working for the cia hacking traffic lights in afghanistan from his desk is because he isn't good enough. It's just a matter of skill.

You are watching a show where a guy using a bow and arrows can kill hundreds of guys with guns. Pretty sure you are going to have to suspend some amount of disbelief to enjoy any of it.
I just started watching this show in Netflix. I like it so far. It's obviously a little ridiculous but it's a fun watch if you can suspend disbelief as other have said.

What did you expect from CW? The show is a fine super hero soap but it's never going to close all the loose ends and have some deep motif.
You like it because the characters are all smooth talkers and sexy. Just admit it and leave your plot criticism for shows that actually want to have a strong plot in order to appeal to their audience.

Unfortunately they cast someone else than Katie Cassidy as Black Cannary, so it's unlikely that Laurel Lance saved Roy Harper. Neither of Oliver's old friends nor his sister will join him being the hero apparently. Show creators only teased viewers with Laurel and Thea becoming heroes

wrong! i also thought it was black canary when i first saw her but then the whole laurel/arrow trap went down. Its just a league of shadows member who probably has a connection with the islands or something(laurels sister most likely, as that would set up a good 1v1 and would allow laurel to become black canary and use her sisters sound weapon).
They are trying to throw us off so that the real black canary's entrance will be more of a surprise. That sound weapon she used when helping GA will obviously be used by laurel in the future when she turns in to black canary. Casting someone else other then laurel as black canary would be so so so stupid.

Now we are just missing Batman as guest in one episode.
I'm not much a comic book guy so help me out here. Is Ras al Ghul the name of the highest position in the League of Shadows is that the name of a certain person? Iirc, this Ras al Ghul dies in the first Batman movie so does this take place before the first batman?

He's an actual person. The Nolan Batman movies also do not take place in a "Justice League" universe so you shouldn't really expect continuities to apply across to this show.
Nolan batman separate. arrow TV show separate. the first dc movie to have a shared universe is man of steel. man of steel 2 will bring in Ben affleck as batman. Nolan batman don't count anymore in the movie universe.
i've come acrossed this show through IMDB. and i have never read the comics. contrary to what has been said in this thread, i actually really enjoy the introspection and drama aspects of it. i'm glad there is a major focus on the emotions of the characters. watching the first episode i thought the series was really cheesy with the robin hood costume and fighting crime thing. with the fact that he actually murdered people, i assumed it was another knock off of the once great tv show dexter, except this guy was wearing a robin hood getup. the show was just less darker in comparison. i'm glad i was wrong. what i actually find quite relieving about the series is that the vigilante doesn't hold himself back in terms of verbalizing his emotions. almost every hero show had a theme of a continual denial of oneself so they'd save the world, or something happened to get in the way. whereas almost every episode there's something that brings oliver to want a connection with laurel. i've watched mostly every main popular tv show out there dexter, breaking bad, walking dead, and i've found this show to be better or at least more fitting for my cup of tea. (i'm not here to start an argument) the little schemes in which he interacts with laurel are pretty damn amazing.
what i've found unique about this tv show is how deep the heroes introspect. surprised to say the least, i've learned a few things from it just by how each character expressed himself in terms of situations or dealing with a problem. i'm not sure if most notice but there are actually some quite deep revelations from the characters. i'm not sure if it's just tv in general but each show the heroes or characters become more human, in the sense that there's more of something we can relate to rather than not since there's a major focus on the relationships. oliver's billionaire status on the show hasn't been as impressive, since none of the money is really spent on expensive gadgets he uses in action unlike batman.

This just keeps better and better. First season was so-so but this one is pretty good. Just like Continuum where second season was awesome. And we go even more goodies to come: League of Shadows, Flash, Brother Blood, Deathstroke...

Haha wow, I just wanted to ask if anyone else is getting annoyed by Laurel and you guys beat me to it. She really gets on my nerves and has lost all attractiveness.
The character of Laurel at least has a right to exist . With Olli's sister i'm not even sure why she exists in the first place . Right now the introduction and continued existence of Roy Harper in the show is the only reason she exists at all.

Supernatural at least embraced wackiness and stupidity the longer the show ran/runs .
This show is getting alot worse at story telling. The continuity even between episodes is bad
Just 2 episodes ago they have Ollie asking Sara where she learned to fight since shes never been much of a fighter yet the flash backs have her kicking Ollie in the chest and acting all tough the next episode.
And how stupid is detective lance to not know that Ollie is the vigilante. Face to face with him and clueless. Only took him all of 15 seconds to realize Sara was the girl in the mask beating up thugs in the glades.
Laurel's behavior was way out of character. First she rejects Ollie completely due to the death of Tommy. Then he shows up one evening just as a friend (he explicitly told her this) and she throws herself at him. If this is how girls act, i'd have a solid gameplan everytime :D
Still, the episode was nice. And about the detective not getting the fact Ollie is the Arrow... well duh! Come on, what would you expect? :S It's the same as with Batman in Gotham. Rich dude re-apears after many years and all of a sudden a vigilante shows up... ehhh, derrrp

They suspected and already arrest Ollie in the first Season i think but somehow came to the conclusion it wasn't him. I think Diggle ran around doing things in the costume while Ollie was arrested so they let Ollie be ever since.

Its not hard to act tough when you are armed and dealing with a tortured prisoner.

Is there a second season now? I really want to watch it if there is. The show is terrible, and the story telling/acting is bad, but it's so bad it's good. I have Stockholm syndrome from this show lol.
So, why in the hell is Laurel assisting the prosecution in the Moira Queen trial when he on/off boyfriend is her son and her previous lover is one of the victims of the very crime Moira is being tried for? Not to mention the long history Laurel has with the family in general... The show even mentions conflict of interest which is a gross understatement and then carries on anyway.
Laurel is already unlikable anyways, being a supposedly strong female character yet being a damsel in distress at least half a dozen times throughout the show. Add to this, her illogical decisions (really, you want to all of a sudden blame the arrow for everything despite the fact he personally saved you on more then one occasion in the past) and her somewhat whiny disposition Laurel really doesn't need any more help in being insufferable. I just don't understand the shows direction for her, especially given its pretty much inevitable that Laurel will become the Black Canary at some point in the future. It's never a good thing when one of the hero's of a show is intensely disliked. It's going to be hard for viewers to forget their dislike when she does eventually become Black Canary.
Haha yeah sweet, the pacing in this series is so fast. This episode was kinda terrible though but it kept me entertained and had some weird ass new stuff ;D.
So if someone is ill and passes out in front of you, your first action is to take a blood sample and send it to a chemist. Not perhaps to get him to a doctor.... Come on writers dont be so lazy.

Season 1, Episode 12, 38:15. Corridor of a mental institution/hospital. Detective Lance and doctor stand at the foot of the count's stretcher bed. Doctor: "I've never seen anyone OD on this much vertigo and live; there's just no way of knowing what kind of damage has been done to his brain and nervous system, or if it's irreparable." Count is spluttering and writhing around on the bed as he is wheeled away by a nurse.
Soo yeah I guess they just went with "Oh it was no big deal he recovered and was released into prison."

It was burned by an explosion during the bombardment of their camp (same time Oliver was captured). Shadow applied some mud gunk stuff to it in an attempt to reduce damage/repair skin.
Who else is super hype for The Flash? I'm intensely curious how they're going to go about doing legit super powers. Everything they've done so far falls into top .00001 percentile of human ability, but The Flash takes it to a whole new level.

Considering Barry Allen is about to enter the show you can have an educated guess here.
My friend started laughing hysterically when the thunder came and Barry freaked out. Apparently in his legit origin story a lightning bolt blows up a bunch of chemicals in front of him and that's how he gets his super powers.
I really like the way the show is developing . Yeah there are some stupid moments mediocre acting and stuff but unlike Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D it feels like a superhero series. Way more positive than negative.

I like the show too. Normally. But the whole introduction of flash feels so forced. The guy is a cliche. Perhaps that is close the source material but god it is annoying. Overall I don't think it is good to introduce a superhero with "real" powers like Flash or Superman into the series. It makes arrow obsolete. Batman and similar heroes would work.

Flash isn't as ridiculously strong as someone like Superman , Green Lantern etc would be you can even kinda tone him down a bit without too much trouble to still it work. DC has tons of guys with superpowers that are stronger than normal humans but could still be beaten by someone like Batman/Green Arrow etc. Just the strongest category is out of that league without major tricks/gimmicks and i don't quite count to be Flash in there
I really like this show, it is good unlike that teen crap Smallville that was only other DC superhero show in last X years (I don't want to remember the even bigger crap called Lois&Clark). And Barry actor is cool, I liked him in last episode.

I kinda disagree with the "not on the same level thing".
On paper The Flash is extremly powerful. The whole faster than time thing? Vibrating through walls? You can and should count The Flash as one of the most powerful superheroes.
BUT
Because of the character of The Flash (all Flashs to be precise), this "take nothing serious, fooling arround" persona he pretty much limits himself to a point where he absolutely works as an introduction character for superpowers. He pretty much fucks up all the time and runs, pun intended, into all kinds of stupid situations. If he would have a dead serious persona like Batman it would be a huge problem but he normally hasn't and because of that he just doesn't seem that powerful. On the other hand when he IS serious ... well he pretty much owns everyone. Ask Luthor/Brainiac about that^^
Normally though he just fucks up faster than the average person^^

Yeah yesterday I decided to read my first Flash comic and it seems like it will be the accelerator (and not lightning +chemicals) that will give him (create) the speed force, the source of Barry speed which is also the 5th fundamental force in the DC world from what I understood.

I don't know from what i've read the series count was extremely different to what he's in the comics. Maybe we'll see a count again someday but closer to the source material. He's also not that big off a deal compared to Deadshot or Deathstroke. But regarding Deathstroke it's unlikely they'll kill off a more or less main character this randomly during a normal episode.
Now that was awesome. Deathstroke beeing revealed to be alive and in the city , Solomon Grundy/Cyrus Gold appearence ( i would think he's not actually dead and Grundy is now created ) and the Flash event happens.
Not the best episode but much better than last Shield one. I suppose now they are on the pause and we are going to need to wait a long time to see Flash

If they planned to make him a hero as well, something like this needed to be done as he had almost no combat training. So now he will be a stronger more resistant version of himself but with almost no training or real skill, while Oliver will stay the super fit, super trained human with normal human limitations. As a team they will work well with Roy handling stronger slower enemies.
Fucking gay that Slade is now some sort of bad guy. The change in character is simply just not believable. How does it make him any difference from Wintergreen or whatever his name was?

I agree. I liked it because Green Arrow and Diggles were normal human beings who were just very committed, well trained and had gadgets. Thats why I also like the new batman movies. I think superpowers when they are really strong and have no severe downside to their powers are kind of lame. For me Superman is the worst hero of all time for this reason, story wise.

Slade was always going to end up a bad guy. The series still has about 4 years of island to tell. Don't tell me a lot can't happen in 4 years.
Are you kidding me guys? This shit is getting so good :D How does it matter if there are superpowers and shit? The star of the show is still Green Arrow and he's still a 100% human badass.
yeah and he was fighting mostly human evil badasses. With the new super powers it gets even more to the point to find super wierd plots that he can beat those superdudes and he gets probaly help from other superdudes. To be honest I dont like most superhereos out of marvel or DC. A lot of them just dont have a huge downside to their superpower. Especially I dislike Cpt. america, superman and flash.

Roy is basically Green Arrow's Robin, so that was inevitable. They're a band of super villains they do dirty jobs for the US government for shorter sentences.

Suicide Squad is bad guys being forced to do very dangerous things for the government, but its super villains so the government doesn't have to take credit. They are bad guys doing the governments extremely dangerous/ don't want to be blamed for dirty work, so its kind of hard to pin a description on them.

Easily denied black ops squad. Usually given the craziest of crazy mission. Most of their missions are borderline suicide missions anyways, hence the moniker.
15 people know Oliver's secret identity (Maybe more depending on who else in ARGUS knows) and only 7 are alive (Huntress, Diggle, Felicity, Roy Harper, Amanda Waller, Malcolm Merlyn (not for long if Ra's Al Ghul is after him though) and Sara Lance.)

I'm not aware of that being there however the squad has been written and rewritten multiple times and I am only familiar with the more current incarnations that do not feature something like that.

The salmon ladder makes an appearance ... but it's not Oliver using it: That's right: Someone else takes that piece of equipment for a spin. And according to Kreisberg, the actor who plays the character in question actually did the first two rungs on their own before the stunt double had to step in to do the final rungs. Now that's impressive.
I was assuming a stunt or some form of assistance considering they don't show the full motion but it's nice to see that a girl her size pulled it off on her own

Ok So arrow is about to enter is full on awesome set of episodes and they dropped this god damn amazing totally epic and bad ass 3 minute trailer I've watched 5 times now. Its on Stephen Amell's facebook page. Youtube has no video yet.
I'm super excited about the next month of arrow. Full on badassery incoming!
New island villain (Dr. Ivo) shows up looking for a super serum. Love triangle forms between Oli, Slade and Shado (Yao Fei's daughter). Slade (moments from death) is injected by the serum and is driven mad but given super powers. Oli, Shado and Sara are captured, island villain (Ivo) makes Oli choose between Sara and Shado. Oli chooses Sara and Shado is shot in the head as a result. Super-Slade appears and kills most of the baddies. Oli and Sara lie about the fact that Shado's death was caused by Oli. Super-Slade is now super mad and hell bent on revenge. Present day Oli hints that the eventual revelation of the truth is the reason for their falling out.
TLDR: Slade fell in love with Shado, who gets killed by Ivo because of Oli choosing to save Sara. Lie of omission makes Slade go mad.
For a former spy some of the camera locations he chose are pretty bad lol.
I wonder if Slade knows that Sarah was with the League of Assassins. He's a pretty smart guy and upon seeing Roy and Sarah in the house knew to retreat.

I hope we find out how Sarah got into the League. A island like flashback specifically showing that would be cool. I'll take any excuse to give Nyssa screen time. That costume was awesome!
Seems like the show has abandoned Tommy Merlyn as a villain by having him be on the run from Ras Al Ghul. Kind of a lame way to get rid of a guy who was the vocal point of a whole season and the reason Moira can run for Mayor.

1. Why are people putting spoiler tabs about stuff that was already shown? 2. Merlyn will be back for sure. Maybe not this season but we will see him. Personally I didn't like him that much, I hope his return will make sense.

Force of habit from another forum for me. TV show thread rules stated you had to have their equivalent of spoiler tags around your messages 24h after the shows first air time. More than a few have had some rules like this.

best episode so far, no whining, no crying girls, no bullshit! i hope that the quality of the episodes will at least stay the same, cause in the first season there were so many boring episodes, so i just had to force myself to watching them (the only dc comics tv-show related atm, right?).

Yep. The Flash will get a TV show though. The Pilot and season 1 are green lighted.
I agree this was a very good episode. Excited to see how the island thing works with all those ex prisoners of that boat and how they get Oliver back and how Slade gets off the island. Sarah too. Sooner or later she needs to be removed from the island to get LoA training
Suicide Squad episode was kinda meh. Did a good job of making it obvious that Slade was in Olivers head.
Loved the Harley Quinn easter egg though. This chick is chaos incarnate and I am quite excited to see what she finds funny! Maybe in the birds of prey episode?
Wait, where did Ollie knew that Argus chick from? The suicide squad look 'meh' indeed. Diggle just isn't imba enough yet as a character on his own. He's still too much looking around being confused and trying to find himself, etc.
I guess this was a decent filler ep for the plot to move forward without questioning why Ollie isn't moping around and stuff.

We've had all this buildup with the Mirakuru but got no further in his training than slapping water.
He had one scene where Sarah was teaching him to shoot a bow. And We went to the Queen house and shook Slades hand to let him know he had the drug in him. So he is doing things!!!
But ya, I'd rather be having sex with Thea than fighting crime too.
pretty displeased with episode 18, i can't quite put my finger on it. it seems his attempts at getting "revenge" on oliver amounts to letting thea know her real father, and telling laurel he's the arrow feels meager. it feels lacking in a sort of punishment. maybe because i'm a spectator and the fact we know these truths makes it far less shocking.
on another note, it's not hard to see how this is going to end when slade was shown being lead by a ghost of shado's (i haven't read teh comics) but this looks far too cliche.

Maybe you missed the part where he maneuvered Oliver to lose control of his company (and probably easy access to high tech gear and lots of money). Or where Roy left town and is no longer in the fight vs Slade. Or maybe that Oliver's only ally in the Police is now under arrest. And Laurel is not going to blame Oliver for this.
Slade is taking away everyone Oliver depends upon. His plan is to leave him alone without anything and then kill him, and this plan is working.
Slade is being a total boss about this. For someone under the influence of that rage drug and everything that goes with it, he's impressively patient and deliberate about it.
Flash is supposed to come back in episode 20, which is 2 weeks from now. Unless they wrap this all up next week, which is doubtful, Flash pops in and saves the day in a couple weeks.

I would guess if Slade manages to make more Mirakulu soldiers, Oliver will not be able to handle this alone and then this would make sense.

I don't think Flash is coming back in episode 20, since they just finished filming the Flash pilot episode which was what they had originally intended ep 20 to be. If we see the character at all I bet it will just be as Barry Allen.
Also "Oliver is the Arrow" should have been met immediately with "Er, no, we went through this last year when everyone thought he was the Arrow but then the Arrow was seen when Oliver was publicly visible at a party, didn't you hear? People thought he was but it turned out he wasn't."
Sure Slade could have followed it up with pointing out they look the same and Oliver is never around when the Arrow is except that one time and the Arrow seems to have a strange obsession with Oliver's friends and so forth but just saying it and walking away isn't even trying. Oliver just has to go "clearly he's confused and getting his news from last year cause we all already dealt with that shit" and problem solved.

Even before all that, the dude is a convicted felon who gad just kidnapped her Ex-BF' sister and held her captive for a few days, why would she even begin to believe anything he says is beyond me.
I mean, it's enough of a reason to be suspicious, she'll probably look in to it?
It's fucking stupidly obvious in a lot of different ways, so much so that it's probably the biggest plot hole in the show that it's not easily figured out by anybody who has interacted with him.

Plot hole is something that is in direct contradiction of earlier plot/statements/rules. What you spoke about is merely a character being stupid. You might say it's an inconsistency for that character but it's a stretch to call it a plot hole.
Characters suddenly having knowledge that was never passed to them, or vice versa; characters not knowing something they knew last week, or something that anyone in their position must know. An event does not logically follow from what has gone before. Characters ignoring or avoiding obvious solutions to their problems. An event occurring that other events in the work simply do not allow.
You are confusing the characters access to information as the same as the viewers. Sure it seems obvious from a viewers point of view that they should have figured out that Oliver is the Arrow but they don't have access to the information we do. When you look at it just from their point of view it seems reasonable that the connect isn't made especially since it's already been attempted and dis-proven. As I said it's a rather big stretch to call it a plot hole.
Not to mention who thinks clearly when something like that happens. I forget is Slade was all masked up, so it's either a) A guy you know just kidnapped your friend's sister or b) A lunatic armed to the teeth.

I'm not confused. One example of many in how easy it is to figure out: Oliver works as the Arrow with his fucking secretary and driver. Multiple people who don't know his secret that the 'Arrow' works with KNOW he works with these two people.

It's really. really. obvious.
and a plot hole.
So are you saying it should be obvious because of who Arrow works with or dismissed offhand because they went down that arc and they decided the evidence said Ollie wasn't the Arrow?
Because if you're trying to prove this point, you can't have it both ways.

TL:DR - there's alot of emotional depth in arrow, i feel everyone but oliver is lacking in being congruent in portraying the proper emotions.
hmm, i think i phrased my displeasure incorrectly, i think the acting was lack luster to what it was built up to be, not the actual content of what's happening. i don't recall the episode number but slade put on such a great act in how he wished to bring utter despair to oliver's world, but the reception by oliver has been naught despite a good chunk of the claims by slade were brought into fruitation. more or less i blame the actor of oliver for the lack of showing more frustration agony and despair for how bad his situation actually is on paper. it could be the script, and any other thing who knows. his situation at the moment is no less different than batman's 3rd movie, yet the portrayal of despair was entirely convincing in batman and totally lack luster in the previous episodes in arrow. i couldn't put my finger on it the first time to properly address my displeasure, but now i'm able to come up with the reason why.
i'm not sure if the direction of arrow is attempting to portray an unbreakable symbol of heroism in the "arrow" but that notion contrast alot with the direction every other character is taking in the plot which is an emotional wreck who makes mistakes and bounces back. in the current episode i dont' think it would have been out of character for oliver to cry or tear up when he got hugged by laurel. the scene would have been beautiful if he had been able to relieve his emotional distress to a person who can convey that they comprehend his pain yet at the same time walk the lines of conveying they may or may not know the truth of his identity.
"when it comes to your children, there's no action that is inconceivable, there's no decision that is impossible..."-moira. that entire scene set up was perfect for the ending of the episode.
I'm watching season 2 currently at episode 12 and man Starling City must be the best city in the world because everyone wants to save it lol. Also it's kind of stupid how Roy can break through steel or break a wall with a single punch, but punching people on the face multiple time and they don't even have a scar (the black guy for example). Yeah, it gets to be a little ridiculous, but I guess it's standard comic book physics.

Yeah the human body is quite a bit more durable in the comic book world. I guess its possible that maybe Roy only wanted to kill Thea so he didn't hit as hard as he could but then that doesn't explain why Thea's neck wasn't crushed instantly.

you're going to have to assume the concept of "restraint" on the character's behalf, which isn't something anyone can gauge in the fantasy comic book world. the demonstrations of power were just that, what he was capable of. not to be used against him in logic. we are discussing fantasy which most don't remember, sentiments of realism are going to be dropped here and there but it isn't the backbone.
Yeah, I don't see Slade dying anytime soon. I think he is going to be the main villain again for a different season as well. This Slade is a really good villain. It would be a shame if he meets his end this season.

Deathstroke is an iconic DC baddie. I would be quite fine with Olivers main nemesis being Slade for another season.
One thing I want to know oh sooooo bad is what they have planned for Harley Quinn.

I doubt Slade will be back as primary bad guy for the season but they've teased the Mirakuru "cure" so I would guess that he'll end up depowered and part of the Suicide Squad (which is a great way for them to "save" the supervillains) which would allow him to reappear later.
While I'd love to see Harley, I'm also hoping it was just a in-joke/tease, introducing her to Arrow means it's incorporating a little too much Batman instead of Green Arrow. When you look at the secondary characters lots of them were originally Batman characters, off the top of my head we've had Huntress, Firefly, Kate Spencer, KGBeast, Dollmaker, the League of Assasins/Shadows and technically even Deadshot) adding Harley also means you have to bring in Mister J (he is her origin after all) and then you may as well just rename Oliver to Bruce.
Green Arrow doesn't have as rich a rogues gallery as Batman. A lot of GA's history has been spent with either Green Lantern or Black Canary and they usually just fought gangsters and drug dealers or villains from other super hero's rogues galleries.
May as well steal from Batman. He has the biggest gallery of plausible villains. Superman's are all off limits since they are mostly alien and super powered.
Ugh. Thea's character is so fucking stupid. I'm not sure if I'm supposed to hate her, or the terrible people who write her character. I can't even begin to understand why the fuck she just went with the known mass murderer over....any other choice. Like, really...?
The rest of the episode was predictable (except for laurel's dad dying or w/e). I mean, I can understand the concept of foreshadowing, but I don't think anybody didn't see the whole staged "I love you" coming, or the Thea finding something and running away from Roy. Or Sarah bringing in the League of Assassins.
I'm confused as to how Slade is going to survive in that place. I'm assuming there are other people besides Slade in that underground prison. Otherwise he would die without food. It's just that only seeing his cell made it hard to believe that there are other people, if any, with him. I hope next season's villain lives up to this one.

In the comics, Slade is the leader of the suicide squad. Argus is notorious as being the people you shouldn't trust that you think you can.

Slade isn't leading this suicide squad. He's Joker Asylum levels of insane and dangerous. He'll break out sooner or later somehow probably.
Decent finale, a little bit predictable, League of Assasins was kinda cool but also felt like an easy way to get Sarah out for next season(?). Thea was bad, Roy was oke. Felicity so hawt, I got a thing for glasses tho I guess. Argus setting up for an interesting next season thats for sure.
I feel like the final was awesome if you think about how much cheesiness there was in this show. I don't mind anything they are throwing at me as I always expect something worst. Fast action packed final, I don't care about predictability in this kind of stuff, twists are just plot element that break my immersion.
If he no longer has the Mirakuru in him, why is he still batshit insane? When Roy was cured, he forgot everything. Slade still seems full retard and believes Ollie is responsible for Shado's death.

You don't need a mega steroid to go insane and being seeing things. A broken heart that you can blame on someone else would work fine.
I really hoped that someone else would die as Slade promised. Since Moira was finally gone, the number one on my list was Thea, she is really really annoying. Then Oliver's girlfriend aka cop's daughter, she is really annoying too, then the cop itself, he is annoying and he is overacting very much. Felicity is little annoying, but at least she is funny and Diggle is Diggle.
But my only real wish for this show is that they reduce all this whining and bitching and crying and showed some action with decent enemies, not some cuckoo heads.
The only bitching and crying I ever enjoyed could watch without rewinding was on Breaking Bad.
Every dc hero has their villain with the weird hallucination toxin.
I guess the end was "kinda" surprising because I'm assuming it was already Ra's Al Ghul that's killed her but it opens up the spot for the REAL Black Canary to take the stage :D

Why would he kill her? She went back to him. People on IMDB speculate it could be Komodo.

Well was just my first thought because she is back in town which means she 's on leave from the league again and raz is confirmed the season villain. But you're probably right, it's too early for him to show up and iwhen he does it will probably be with a squad of assassins and not alone.

A) KILLING HIM IN THE FACE and B) LETTING HIM GO FREE
he not only chose option B...He chose to threaten and anger a super angry league of assassins (and practically invite them in to the city he protects) who knows who his sister who just had one of their LESS ruthless assassinators kidnap said sister.
Like really, there's no option between KILLING HIM IN THE FACE and LET HIM GO FREE?? 4srs? And to honor his 'no killing' promise thing (ye that's stupid) he not only has to not kill, but he has to protect a known terrorist who killed his best friend and a thousand people (just because it didn't happen in the last 2 seconds didn't mean it didn't happen and it's not important...)???
I am in season 2, seen about 5 episodes I think, and this show just don't hook me. I'm losing interest in it, did you guys have the same feeling? I love the story of the Arrow, but Laurel.. it's not just her, its Oliver as well, he still acts like he knows it all, and is wrong wrong wrong. Does the show pick up?
if you've already made it through the weak early eps of S1 then try to stick to it because the big villain in s2 is rather good.. Laurel is just the typical CW female lead you need to have for some teen drama but she gets somce nice character development in S3.
Enjoyed the episode quite a bit, lovely crossover between Flash and Arrow and starting to like Cisco and Caitlin more(altho they are basically just filling an archtype in the same show formula as Arrow).
Coincided with the lack of screen time of Laurel and Thea
I mean its almost certainly Nysaa who takes him to the pit, barring Sarah having already been taken there post burial given that every single version of her has her back stabbing her father
Palmer is the Atom, you might have noticed that in the name of the suit. Also I'd be fine with Oliver losing if it actually looked like a fight but the fencing was terrible as it almost always is on TV/in film...

Or real life fencing is crap compared to movie fencing where they do it at the next level :D

But you don't understand. That is beginner fencing. Movie characters are way past that level and know that will never work so they use different techniques that are strange to these beginners
That ending fight was shit. Oliver was just slipping, stumbling and falling around the entire time, it was like he was suddenly someone with no combat experience. Would have much preferred his pussy-whipping with him looking competent and r'as looking even more demonic.

Oliver got his ass kicked yeah but he did land punches and kicks, blocked sword swings and other attacks. It wasn't like The Demon got a flawless victory.
Damn close though. That guy is in a league of his own!
Anything other than Ra's curbstomping would have not made sense, Oli is good ye but he still only learned fighting 7 years ago and Ra's been around for thousands of years and he went full Ip Man on league of assassins member in the beginning of the episode.

That's kinda my point, swinging wildly as if you were chopping wood doesn't look good, it makes you look like a noob. Hence why I didn't like it - sure, make Oliver lose, but make it at least look like he's trying to win. This was embarrassing. Same situation is Mace Windu against Palpatine - Mace did something no fencer would ever do (and the list goes on).
Just as a refresh to people complaining about the sword fighting. How many time have you seen Oliver fight with a sword... He might have preferred a bow. Just saying.
He also just climbed a freaking high mountain, a little additional exhaust is expected...

Everyone there climbed that same mountain.
Nah, i bet Ra's has a secret elevator with refreshments and nice music!
I get that ras should curbstomp oli and rightly so. But watch the fight, olivers slipping and falling all over the place lungi g and swinging like hes never held a weapon. Its not about him winning or making it close, its about him looking like hes seen a weapon before lol. Ras lierally taps him and dtands back and watches oliver fall over himself for 10 seconds on multiple occasions lol

He was slipping because it was not a familiar territory for him. I think that was good to show us how much he was outclassed by Ras. As my friend said afterwards, even current Flash would not be able to beat that Ras.
?? Really? How? I can see him beat Batman and Green Arrow but also Flash, Green Lantern, Wonder Woman, Cyborg and khm Superman? Just no. From what I know, only Batman has plans how to beat the whole JL.
Oh no, please not this versus shit. It's a popularity contest, just like fans would say Batman beats almost everyone. Or they're trying to compare which hero defeated which villain, as if it described real events and not fictional plot...
In terms of fighting prowess in the DCU its Batman then Deathstroke then Ras Al Ghul then Lady Shiva then Black Canary. Deathstroke has beaten everyone in the DCU at least once. Black Canary is the only one on this list that hasn't beaten everyone on the list at least once(Batman). This isn't fan opinion. This is based on success in combat. Most of this list has beaten a large chunk of the JL. + Show Spoiler +
The New 52 revamping of DCU will probably change alot.
Also, Superman, Green Lantern, The Flash and several other powered characters have no fighting talent or any kind of tactical planning. They just power through. Yeah Superman could kill everyone if he wanted too. Alot of powered people in DCU could. It's their character and personality that holds them back though. 1v1 in a vacuum Superman is invincible to pretty much everyone(and why he's such a terribly boring character). Black Atom(Magical attacker) is the only one that could even put up any kind of reasonable fight and he would still lose horribly. Thats why no one thinks like that in comic books
Nobody I listed there has powers (Canary had a scream but they take that away from her then give it back alot). Thats not a coincidence. DC writers regularly make the unpowered heros and villians "OP" in some way.Example: Its widely accepted that if you let Batman plan, he can literally take out any number of anyones at any time. DC has shown that the only way to beat Batman is to catch him off guard with something completely unexpected or just be new.(hence Jokers success vs the Bat and why batman loses to almost every new villain he faces).
It's DCs way of unpowering the superpowered I think.
I mean its not just dc who does that, just about every comic book hero or villian that is pretty much vanilla human has something absurd, be it batman and Stark having absurd amounts of money and time and insanely smart (they use it in massively different ways of course) because with out super powers only the most exceptional at something can really have a chance.
metahuman was only introduced in the shows for all the people getting powers by the star labs incident I think, but Deathstroke is peak human like Cap in Marvel.
AFAIK Captain isn't a meta. He, just as Batman, is a human with the highest achievable human fitness. (yeah, peak human like said above). I don't know about Deathstroke though. Either way, Flash would own anyone non-mentahuman, just as Spider-Man would splatter Batman into a mist of blood, guts and bones, etc...

Metahuman is a term from the comics that is given to anyone that can perform beyond human limits. It is DC comics special name. Deathstroke has beyond human strength, speed, regeneration and apparently can use 90% of his brain (although statement that we use only 10% of our brain has been proven false).

I don't think that is true. Captain is capable of bigger feats of strength than batman and heals much faster.
And Flash has lost to multiple non-metas, while Batman has defeated multiple Metas including Superman and whole Justice League.
If batman would meet spiderman for first time he would maybe lose but if he knew of spiderman from before, spiderman has no chance vs batman especially because spiderman is cocky and chaotic.
And arrowed showed clearly how easy it is to get "young" flash, of course he will gain experience but he is still running into traps where his speed is not enough.

This is pretty much why it's pointless to argue with anyone - people keep quoting fights that were decided by what the writer thought, not what a specific person would be able to do (for example plot induced stupidity).

Specific character can only do what the writers want. There is nothing else. They don't exist in real world and their powers cannot be calculated. If writers say character X beats character Y that is all you need.

But I really think they made them fight this early, because it's clear that Arrow does not stand a chance later on. So they had them fight when Barry just had 3 months experience and his powers were still really weak compared to what he will be able to do (time travel, pass through solid matter, that superspeed punch that destroys you on a molecular level, huge amount of knowledge since he can speed up his thought process and learn anything super fast).

I think just because a writer made a specific scenario where X beats Y, we can't say X is stronger than Y in a fight. Only if a writer came out and said X beats Y always or most of the time, we could say that. Otherwise we are free to look at their powers and weapons and then decide for ourselves who would win in a fight, outside of a specific scenario someone wrote.

How does this make sense? Writer makes a comic where x beats y and that does not count, but it counts if in a interview he says x beats y?! You got it reverse. Only true cannon for anything is the material itself. If it wasn't made, or shown it is not true.
I'm bored and i have time atm so i'm speedwatching this.
It's dumb and its kinda of a soap.. But the things i really dislike: 1 People get together and apart --> Still friends (like this is normal)... Hey Girl i had betrayed with your sister, lets not just live seperate lives.. no we get together again (kinda), then apart again, then together again (shortly), then depart again BUT I WILL ALLWAYS BE YOUR FRIEND. What the effing fuck.
. 2 FAAAAAMILY... For the FAAAAMILY.. Seriously, this constant FOR THE FAMILY stuff made me stop watching Sons of Anarchy but seriously... FAAAAMILY (i would do tons of stuff for my family, serious, my brother and my parents are holy to me, i am kinda what you would call a "family person", but the stuff that these shows pull out of their asses is just beyond ridiculous).
And one other thing... Is there an actual diffrence between Arrow and Batman in the comics? :p... Except that Batman is awesome and Arrow kinda gay?
And² his look on the Island (Island is awesome), is just badly done...
AND This show also shows how hilarious the US justice system is.. "OH! She had an affair 5 years go!"... the fuck?
Really hated most of the finale. so much of the dialogue was just written poorly. Also, the whole + Show Spoiler +
ras storyline felt rushed and underdeveloped. and honestly, I HATE how he's white! Why can't asian people be depicted with at least some respect? (A bit OT, but it annoys me how marvel's agents of shield also has a white "Sunil Bakshi..."

Captain Atom and Flash
to do stuff. Already started to feel that way this season.
I've been without sleep for well over two days and this is the internet post that snapped my sanity and turned me into a giggling lunatic oh my god this was so funny I can't even breathe right now hahaha
Just walked in to my wife with her head in her hands in utter shock, i went panic mode thinking something terrible had happened
"hes...hes dead :O " "wtf who?!" "the arrow"

yeah i'm pretty sure i missed that. i was too invested in the whole arrow vs ras plot to notice such a small thing. i'm not sure if it's only me but it doesn't seem like she fits well in her canary suit...she looks ridiculous to me or maybe it's the fact that i'm so used to laurel being a cute emotional wreck i don't know.
Did they really explain how they brought him back to life though? I think its got to be a supernatural thing in some way.
I think she did'nt actually understood how it happened herself.
Sword through sternum, a far enough drop that the body couldn't been seen before landing (foggy, in fairness to common sense), landing at what was likely terminal velocity on rocks.

i have the complete opposite impression. i think it's very rare for tv shows that are dominated by a strong male protagonist to really show a strong yet powerful feminine character as well. laurel has to deal with really shitty situations while being in the dark and attempting to be involved in the loop despite being vulnerable and weak. (weak not because she's a woman, weak because she wasn't trained to be fighter / vs people who are trained)
most women who are "hardened" through bad experiences generally become a bitch, and there's a big difference between a bitch and a person who wants to become strong. i mean here's what laurel's been through since the start of the show 1. she was cheated on 2. the man who cheated on her supposedly died with her sister at the same time (it tells her she's less physically attractive) 3. oliver even after coming back with sara both had an intimate relationship infront of her 4. she had to beat being an alcoholic along with a drug addiction 5. her father goes through multiple life surgeries 6. she's in a world where no one can tell her anything for the sake of her safety (doesn't get to know why or what is happening around her, can't protect herself)
no matter what she does she loses, so i think this transition is the only probable outcome. either that or she dies. and i'm slightly bias when she has puppey dog eyes i think she's gorgeous ROFL.

Sarah went through way worse stuff and was still cool, laurel is just stupid and annoying, literally every decision she makes infuriates me. Lying to her dad about Sarah's death is just wrong and had she let Diggel go with Roy instead of going herself that one guy might not've died.
Arrow shows a lot of strong female characters btw like Sarah, Shado, Nyssa, Maseo's wife, Lyla and now Thea. Only Laurel is completey fucked up imo.

i still can't agree. sarah esentially stabbed her sister in the back and went off in a boat that was meant to be sunk. her living through that was mere luck and everything else after was due to the fact she chose to hook up with her sister's lover. laurel had no control over the things that happened to her, i can't recall any of the misfortune she suffered was due to her negligence. whereas everyone else's consequences was due to bad decisions. and for clarity purposes, i'm not saying laurel is the only powerful female character, in my eyes she's the best example out of all of them. she was pushed down for situations which weren't her fault, and not only did she not give up, she empowered herself to overcome them.
most of the other female roles you named are more corrupted than they are about empowerment for justice. most of the other females HAD connections or influences to people who are willing to train them in the art of assassination. shadow was taught by her father since she was young, nyssa obviously was raised into the leagues, lyla was trained by the government her husband was ex military or marine w/e. thea has her father. maseo's wife isn't a fighter or not that i've seen. almost all of them had a decade to master their craft or was forced into it. its a big difference when you lack a decade of experience and don't have connections to learn from. it's comparable to attempting to compete in UFC with only a boxing coach
laurel was allways a bad character and now is even worse... In fact the only thing that was ok about her, was that she was a normal human and not some kind of superninja...
I didn't think Laurel was annoying or that the actor is really bad or something like this. I just think that her role, or lets say her new role is unfitting to the actress. If you look at the original canary, she was shorter, she had muscles, she had meat on her bones and that made her believable. She looked tough and one could believe she was a fighter, but Laurel just looks like a girly model with those long legs and arms that are super thin. She just looks like the wind could carry her away. Maybe if swords were her signature weapon like Thea, one could believe she may have an impact but making her a melee bruiser who fights with a blunt stick is just not right for the actress. To make us actually believe shes a fighter she would have to gain a few pounds and grow some muscles otherwise it looks just stupid or unbelievable.
I hope they get Ray's superhero alter ego going soon. Just anything to take screen time away from Laurel. They wrote her character so terribly, I hope they just stop trying and move onto bigger and better things.
"Don't thank me, The cold and the snow. You should be dead" Saved by snow and penicillin and stitches. Yes its a TV show, yes its a super hero show, I know it doesn't have to make sense but come on! The Lazarus Pits would have made a zillion times more sense then snowflakes that heal! What a pathetic way to keep Oliver alive.
I didn't think it possible but Laurel some how managed to make me hate her more. The two pretend to be the dead girl for your dad stunts are wrong on so many levels...How could she possibly think that was a good idea and WHEN her dad finds out Sara is dead explaining that is gonna be a bitch
i have the complete opposite impression. i think it's very rare for tv shows that are dominated by a strong male protagonist to really show a strong yet powerful feminine character as well. laurel has to deal with really shitty situations while being in the dark and attempting to be involved in the loop despite being vulnerable and weak.
Can't wait until Oliver is back, I've had enough of Laurel, I'm enjoying Flash so much more right now.
Laurel can't tell her dad that Sarah's dead because she thinks it would kill him. The guy had a heart attack and has been in poor health. He also said if Sarah were to die he would also die. Also, the first time they thought Sarah died Quentin became an alcoholic and destroyed his marriage. We the audience know that Quentin will most likely find out Sarah is actually dead, but Laurel believes the best thing to do considering the situation is to let her dad believe Sarah is alive instead of taking the risk of telling Quentin and having him drop dead from another heart attack.
To me it feels like the Waller plot just isn't doing anything. Every episode of the island was intense, friends died and it was grim. Now the flashbacks are just... eh, Oliver and the Asian guy go somewhere, Oliver is timid now for some reason, and Waller gives them shit for not being tough enough. Over and over.

this does feel like filler, i do believe maseo is a good character but there's too much focus on a non-relevant. ra-al ghul or however you spell it is very interesting but the build up to his identity and importance was very badly done. it was no where close to the same buildup that slade and deathstroke had. i don't read the comic because i do enjoy the show far too much to read ahead, but i can't forsee any huge impact of either arrow beating RA.
Yeah Raz-al ghul went from being this godly being where people whispered his name occasionally, he was presented as somebody so far outside and above of Olivers bubble. Then suddenly Arrow ends up having a deathmatch with him.

In fairness to the build up, Oliver got his ass whipped and for Ras to turn the duel down would show weakness. Its better to accept the duel, obliterate the challenger to show your strength then it is to say "no your not worth my time".
I can't picture a world where Oliver defeats the League. Batman has never been able to do it. So I wonder how Oliver will shake them off.
Also, saw the trailer for the next episode. Are those the police that are running with the vigilantes in the street? I couldn't really tell. The episode looks hella cool!!!
I thought the most recent episode was rather disappointing. The whole Brick stuff was remarkable easily dealt with in the end. Diggle shot him in the head two episodes ago and nothing happened, arrows don't really hurt him, he heals quickly, but then Malcolm Merlin punches him a few times and pistol whips him and that's it, he's dealt with? At least could they explain his remarkable healing powers or did I miss something?
Also Oliver's return was dealt with way too quickly, at least he didn't do any fighting or anything considering he could barely walk. He still recovered amazingly quickly considering he was impaled and thrown off a cliff, good thing there was some magic herbs around.... I hope they don't just leave it at that.
Tatsu said something to him before he got on the truck like "you must be willing to sacrifice what you hold most precious" which I presume is Thea so I'm not sure if that means Thea will have to fight Ra's or Oliver will lose her somehow before he can defeat Ra's but I assumed it meant the latter.
I hope they don't kill off Merlin, he's one of the more interesting characters around.
Also why was Diggle not in the field in those last few episodes? That was really annoying, his character doesn't seem properly used.

You are asking too many questions. This show does not provide answers. You will only get frustrated.
Like Diggle has not been using a mask for 3 seasons. Anyone with animal level of intelligence would have figured out Oliver is Arrow by now only with that clue.
And Laurel does not know who killed Sarah. And nobody except Felicity knows Ray is trying to be a hero. Almost all characters keep hiding stuff from other characters all the time.
On February 06 2015 21:25 moktira wrote: Tatsu said something to him before he got on the truck like "you must be willing to sacrifice what you hold most precious"
I took that to mean felicity after her speech at the end of the ep or his values he held before since he's working with merlyn now. I guess it could mean thea too.

I thought Diggle decided not to be as active anymore since he has a lil kid and stuff.
latest episode lance figures out who roy was in the redhood. "anyone would recognize who you were with a mask on" i think writers are getting annoyed that we're poking fun at them with their masked-hooded logic.
also i wouldn't expect great plot writing as we get deeper into the series. CW is great on portraying the emotional parts of it and inkling in relationship stuff, as far as plot progression goes it is generally the same for all their other shows which is to have 23 episode seasons. so you're going to have alot of space to fill in.
season 1 and 2 were pretty much jam packed with action and pure plot content cause it was essentially an introduction of all the characters and then the transition to who is the current antagonist. but even in season 1 and 2 you had really corny villians to say the least. carrie cutter, copy cat archers, deadshot, and these drug lord villians.
i was really surprised when the waller arch didn't transition to the triad chinese lady and more so skimped over it and introduced maseo i'm guessing the arrow needs more allys to find those guys apparently.
sorry double post, new episode came out (just started watching) anyone else think malcom merlyn is single-handedly saving the season? his anti-protagonist role is really growing on me. laurel being annoying and a try hard is making her dislikeable despite the fact she's cute & hot, which generally makes everything else forgiveable.
too many of these nice-guy super heroes is really killing the show for me, it doesn't help that random super-villians are also just as corny and cliche like. i guess the script writers can't help it, it's either build up laurel by beating filler bad guys or risk the illogical path and have her become pro in 1 day.
i am really dying for a good villian soon, cause this oliver doesn't die shit isn't going to work again. edit: finished episode. looks like arrow is on the right path in transitioning. i'm more interested now that thea and laurel are the primary focus of the next intensive training, and on none other than the island! slade is gonna love himself some thea that's for sure.
Good episode, but there's no reasonable explanation for merlyn and Roy to be right there as soon as shit goes down except if they were creepin on Thea having sex with the dj.

Yeah that was a tad weird. Roy saw Thea with that dude who looked like Jay in earlier episodes and should have known that he was DJing for the club but suddenly he decides to suit up and go creeping behind her door and Merlyn also marches in fully geared up >_<

Laurel needs to die so bad. Normally characters that annoy people don't annoy me but holy shit. Laurel might be the most annoying character in a tv-show ever.

Show's getting quite sloppy, last week the hook arrow into the empty sky and this week Roy's getting thrown against a fence after getting electrocuted and Oliver just leaves and he isn't shown again for the rest of the episode xD.

The hook into the empty sky thing was a bit stupid... I am glad I was not the only one who noticed that and wondered "wtf did he hook into???"
Although I don't really see how killing Thea helps Raz, Oliver will just hate him even more.
Edit: Or maybe Raz says he will only save Thea with the Lazarus pit if Oliver becomes the next raz al ghul? Don't see her living long enough to even get there though :/. Still has to be Lazarus pit I'm prett sure, guess she will just be half dead.

Oliver feels incredibly unnatural right now, mb its just terrible acting or smthing but I don't know, don't really like it even though he is supposedly ''brainwashed''.
also have the flashbacks all just been about that 1 weapon, like idk what the purpose of these flashbacks really are apart from having the same formula as in the show so far.
Maseo's son Akio died to the virus. Afterwards Maseo made it his goal to destroy the rest of the virus that still exists, he joined the League to accomplish that. As it turns out the League itself had the virus and at some point after Oliver brought Thea to the Lazarus pit, Maseo tells Oliver about it. They plot together to destroy the virus and Oliver plays the brainwashed guy to gain trust and learn the location of the virus. So now he has the mission to destroy Starling City with the virus, but he and Maseo are planning to destroy the virus instead and then leave the league. That's also why the flashbacks are all about the virus, it all comes to down to destroying it and I think Maseo will sacrifice his life to achieve that.
Everything 100% speculation, didn't watch any videos about the coming episodes or something, but I think it would make sense. Let's see .

That would explain his robot acting. Because I don't see how the League of Assassins needs a leader that appears braindead.
On the other hand Ras is the biggest fool if this turns out to be true.
I am just said that this show is done by crappy CW, it would have been amazing on Netflix.

That's actually a pretty amazing theory. I am also under the belief that Oliver isn't actually brainwashed and just playing the part. I was hoping they'd throw in a clue of some sort in the last episode, like leaving a message with Lyla or something. I'm pretty excited for the completion of the season. It hasn't been my favorite season, but the last few episodes have been really good.
I don't get why everyone is bashing Stephen Amell's acting since joining the LoA, He is supposed to be(come) an emotionless, pragmatic, ruthless leader of the League of Assassins. He shouldn't be showing a range of emotions meeting old friends, because he isn't supposed to be Oliver Queen. I think he's playing the role quite well, and I'm not sure what you guys expect from him acting-wise for his characters current situation.

Its not like his acting is much diffrent when he is supposed to be "normal"... .
I seriously hope this will not be just the boring/predictable "Oliver wasn't actually brainwashed"-Plot... And if he actually is brainwashed he should not overcome it within a few moments thru the power of friendship/Family/love....
If they come up with something nice, this could become really cool... But i highly doubt they will.

Interesting stuff, thanks! Tatsu could definitely be part of it, at least she should know what Maseo is doing. I'm pretty sure Oliver is in on it now, although he wasn't at the start. Not sure about Merlyn's part. Although it wasn't the strongest season, the finish is getting exciting .

You're welcome! That's definitely possible about Oliver. Will see soon who-knows-who-and-who-knows-what! lol xD I agree, they are wrapping up this season really well despite the overall season being lackluster. The flashback story line has been keeping it interesting for me so it'll be fun to see, with all the fan speculations going on, how it all turns out.

As someone said, probably sleeping gas, and I'm assuming switched out by Oliver. Such a good episode. The show is really turning around and getting me excited for next season. I'm just a little sad the Maseo theory didn't pan out. I was so sure of it. haha! And btw...+ Show Spoiler +
his death scene was an avalanche of feels. It was cool seeing Tatsu as Katana, though.
No a good episode or a good season. They made Ras into a biggest idiot this season. The whole story arc of wanting to make Oliver new Ras was terrible. I hope next season they get new writers.

I don't know i thought the season was ok until episode 9 which was a really damn good episode but everything after that has been terrible and a lot of the stuff is just not believable. Ra's was portrayed well earlier as this wise, strong and mysterious dude but turns out he's an idiot and living hundreds of years apparently makes you gullible as fuck.
unlike the vast majority i didn't find fault with ra al ghul's character. i thought the character was well developed and they transitioned well with his introduction. while i do agree this season has been probably the most lackluster out of all the seasons, i thought this season finished very strong. they really captured the feeling of despair which has been missing since season 1/2 when slade pretty much gutted his mom in front of him.
Ra's is a man who has obtained everything, built his empire of elite killers from all across the globe, he can literally have anyone he wants or anything through blackmail, extortion, or mass murder. To convert a man like oliver should be a meager task to someone in that position. you cannot exclude the fact he's lived hundred's of years with the lake, this has been in his planning for many years. a person who has accomplished everything he ever desired because of his creed and dogma, is not going to betray it. therefore the logic behind someone surviving his sword shall inherit the kingdom is sound.
on another note, that reddit explanation was amazing analysis. after reading it, i can't even begin to comprehend the story going any other way than that explanation. it sounds like it hit spot on to everything that was alluded to in the story and would make maseo's death that much more meaningful. that explanation would sound so much better than the horse shit that was cooked up in season one about his mother supporting malcom merlyns plan for pressing the reset button on society.
the other thing i felt the season lacked was arsenal's participation, sure he took the fall for oliver, but everyone who considered him dead even made it more of a reason to reintroduce him into their plans for an ambush. i felt the show downplayed his mirakuru abilities, someone like him should be unstoppable especially if you are just facing swords.....
The end of the episode REALLY felt like they were trying to end the series, even though Arrow already got renewed for another season lol. Oliver's transformation has felt so strange.
Oh looks like miss information on my part June they were reading the scripts, so i would think July they were filming. So makes a bit more sense time frame wise :3
not sure if it's me but the recent episode had me "meh" kinda sad cause arrow started out as my favorite TV series, but comparing it NOW to the current Flash, Marvel, there is alot to fix. there are alot of props, gimmicks and things you just blatantly notice or are conscious of which you shouldn't be due to poor lighting, prop, set, camera angle etc that i've started TO notice.
explosive cargo being shallow and empty cause of the prop being made by bad plastic when it fell off the truck in the first scene cause of the sound it made and the way it bounced, oliver being thrown at a bus handle and denting it like plastic, the police station filming was from a very high angle so you saw all the lightning exposing the small set it was. and these are things unrelated to plot....it's just sloppy. i don't even want to sound like i'm nit picking, but i think something's up when you're trying to enjoy a show and you're made conscious of sloppy set production and filming. i don't ever notice this when i wash the flash or marvel.
as far as acting goes, speedy and laurel need A LOT of practice, even the people who get beat up by them seem far more realistic. their fighting scene just doesn't sell to me, uncoordinated, etc.
I hope we don't go "6 months later" after the return start of next episode seems a bit dumb. Oh hated the story line in Oliver and Felecity returning, its very boring way. Should have played that way better. Needed 2 episodes i think to bring them back into the fold not just 1 speeded up version. Completely seemed like "ok get them back in fast, this is them in new life so happy /aww oo babies aww yeahyeah. Then next minute they back in town and loving it xD
Haha, well i never. Anyone who just watched episode 4 who knows the "lore" know if what has happened so far happens through out the comic book or whatever? Seems pretty crazy xD
Ah ok thanks. I wondered is all i don't know the comic books either.
Yeah Season 1 2 and parts of 3 were great, i liked the suspense endings in 1 and 2. However 4 has started off a bit outrageous and episode 4 capped it off for me haha. Oh well lets see what happens!

I'm willing to bet 90% of this craziness will stop after January with Legends airing. Right now both Arrow and Flash are being shoe horned to promote it as much as possible with their respective plot lines which should hopefully die down
I really thought they'd just say Ray was alive there that way we don't have 9 subplots going on through the entire first half of the season... Guess not
Ok Episode 4 was getting there, a lot better i think in terms of what happens and such. Still don't like how Arrow can get stopped so easily now xD oh well.
I watched until s2 ep4 few weeks ago. I dont like Ollie. Weird head/neck posture when he isnt bowmen or isnt on island. Dont take any suggestion from felicity or his bodyguard. Probably the best serie when it comes to hot girls. Willa Holland and Katie Cassidy.
Episode 5 was good again, starting to think the series has finally started again. + Show Spoiler +
Don't like how they bought Sara back at all, kinda stupid. Not sure if this happens in the comic book lore or not as again i am not familiar with it but jeez. Also there is a hella lot of side plots to this season. Digles brother, island story again, hunting down of ant man and then a little problem called Damien Dark. Fun fun!
totally agree. with pandemona, but i honestly think it's the antagonist who are keeping the story alive, building the suspense. deathstroke, ras al ghul, dark, are all great actors at building the suspense. can't even blame ras cause of the terrible story writing they gave him....dark totally resembles a psychopathic CEO it's so awesome.
Oh yeah i guess @Daray but i don't know people might watch the spin off and not arrow i don't know.
Also @saocyn, not sure how many people are familiar with Malcom Merlin's actor but he is a very very camp actor from England. Mostly known for his pantomime acting and flamboyant shows. Can't stand him being given the role of the ultimate bad guy haha! (John Barrowman is his name)

Anyway that was my random lol at Raz xD
i actually had no clue who he was, but instantly felt he portrayed a great anti-protagonist. i would see gifs of his time to time where he says "let's have a gay off!" and i'm like WTF. but can't deny his ability to really portray this psychotic caring father who'd go at any length literally to merely connect with his daughter in his own deranged way. him and oliver teaming up against ras was in fact the only reason i finished the last season. for a meticulous person like ras to have 3 of his head spies under him all of which become traitors that easily is very, fucking sloppy to say the least and it cheapens the worth of his character. it kind of deflated the tension that, oliver may lose which season 1 and 2 captured quite beautifully.
felicity used to be a a unique character, the fact another version of her exist now in the gay technician suddenly makes this persona over played and annoying. 1 is enough, 2 is over saturation. i'm also immensely frustrated at why olly is playing dad to laurel and thea, olly needs to humble these 2 crazy women some how, i'm pulling my hair out at how laurel and thea are using him as a door mat.

i wish the writers / promoters were smart enough to delay this. what suspense is there in faking deaths in the atom and sara only to show a spoiler before the new season came out for a new tv show consisting of these characters....it's so stupid, like do they have no comprehension of suspense? now sara returning and the archives of atom feel like such a cop out/red haring....if you're going to copy what marvel did at the very least do it right....so sad at how botched up this show is i hope damien darhk can save "this city"
also since flash and arrow share the same writers / universes basically, the uplifting motivational speeches have become so redundant.....there's almost no pacing for it anymore, feels so forced and contrived. i hope they slow things down a bit, let it burn, pace the despair and emotional uplifting, bring it back to the dysfunction, lies, deaths of season 1/2. i actually love the corny optimism in a grim world contrast, since ABC made shows like gilmore girls and other shows similar to this....but i'm honestly not feeling it.
i don't know if it's me but the fight scenes are also horribly done. laurel and thea, great actors in general, completely off when it comes to fight scenes, everything looks so rigid like they never did a kick or punch in their life. it's so bad that even the video editing of the scenes to make things look quick still show just how green they look. if they're getting paid well as actors...they really need to take martial arts class in their spare time, looks worst than a bad chinese martial arts movie. i don't want to bash on them this hard, but this went from my favorite show of all time in 2 years to something meh....

Haha you and me both!! Felicity is the great beautiful nerd we all want in our lives, but the new guy is just like her "lappy" as the saying goes. Makes no sense, but having multiple side stories is kinda fun in this series but i hope they don't all conclude at the same time and each get their own episodes to finis.
I do agree on ras too think should have played it out differently i don't know. Hoping for some more cliff hangers and less + Show Spoiler +
kill people and resurrect ones!
Still this and Scorpion my favorite shows on tv now 24 is gone (as u can see with my taste i like certain stuff xD)

You have great taste my friend, i assure you, totally agree on AVERYTHANG. absolutely loved 24 in it's own forced suspense way but they stayed consistent to it. like we knew the first guys jack Bauer discovered were always the pawns or red herrings which later revealed the true mastermind, but even then it felt....right...the pacing was ok, Bauer daughter was also super hot so that evened things out. they just said fuk it and threw the show to the sharks in the last episode, not nearly as bad as Dexter but it was still bad. you'd think the guy would get the Nobel peace prize, nomination for president, the humanitarian award at the end of the show, but they did him like batman, never acknowledged him publicly, the woman he loved never healed from trauma. the fuk is wrong with america and their love for dysfunction? can we get some closure!?
I tried watching scorpion since i'm totally also an arrogant nerd and for some reason unashamed, but felt the main protagonist (based on the actual self proclaimed genius) tried too hard to prove to others he was in fact a genius. It felt like revenge of the nerds....from the first episode...the vibe i got from the show was we're nerds and we're going to try and spin it into a popular stereotype so we can be accepted by hot women. Aka the first episodes were continually reminding the hot single mom that these nerds understood their child better than the dead beat father and that they can still be attractive. i'm a prick in real life, my prick radar detected another prick in the writers and instantly turned me off lmfao. Assholes don't change despite some being intelligent and some being ignorant. ignorant ones you can ignore and beat up, intelligent ones you want to kill....(kill metaphorically, no i don't plan on harming anyone literally / physically ever)
Haha yeah i can understand the Scorpion take of things, i know it is not everyones cup of tea but call me old fashioned i love a good "good vs evil" story line with twists and turns and a hero. This show actually teasing your brain a bit with its tasks to break down in each episode.
But 24 you hit the nail on the head, the ending of 24 was just cruel. Plain and simple xD

totally respect that. I will say the brain teasers or rather the director/writer's retelling of his own life are interesting, if it wasn't for the continual manipulating of the experience to brag. I love anything that may stimulate or challenge the mind, but for me the big red flags were a lot of the obvious bragging and bravado. a few instances
- the kid is sitting in the diner, the fat guy comes in and understands he's using his toy as chess pieces. kid beats fat man at make believe chess with a 4 move win, fat guy says i'm a grand master at chess. oh for f***sakes, gtfo. they have even done studies suggesting chess has almost nothing to do with IQ, as experienced players dominantly and overwhelmingly defeated novice players with high IQ. it is of course, a game based off of memorization and variable, not unlike dota. the only thing i suppose the writers tried to tie it to was that one child prodigy in history who defeated like 8 grand masters, but if this show was a "retelling of his life" (his words in an interview) he was no where close to being considered a child prodigy or anyone with a significant IQ that actually impacted the world, so it was entirely irrelevant.
- then there was the part where he was a child in elementary school with an overly strict and physically abusive math teacher. the teacher poses a question to the class, "which of these numerals can be divided by 4" he proceeds to say "but all of them can technically be divided by 4! you weren't specific enough or clear about the question! and then shows the teacher the decimal points of each one. as if he somehow "one upped" the teacher and class. at this point i wouldn't mind the teacher beating the living shit out of him for being a smart Alec, clearly his emotional IQ or comprehension of surrounding environment / context is blatantly low.
every instance in the tv show is more or less, hey i'm smart, you're dumb, you don't know what you're doing and fucking everything up, i'm smart praise me, let me solve all the world's problems, because you incompetence masses are ruining everything. without me doing EVERYTHING the world would not run properly GOD. to each his own....this is getting derailed though, i do apologize but i'm glad there's a person who has similar interest as i do in the same TV shows and is crazy about it as i am xD
i will say it left a horribly bad impression that i dropped the show entirely from a few first episodes. do they introduce an antagonist that posses a higher IQ than they do and outwit them at every turn? something like a death note rivalry....this would be something that draws me back into it. not some rag tag team solving small crimes.
Hahaha indeed i am. I indeed understand where you are coming from with that reconciliation of the flaws. I too agree with them, there is alot ( ALOT!) of rumors that Walter O'Brien himself is completely fabricating absolutely everything in his life and is one big phony etc. However no one will know xD
It's either watch it or be left with waiting for the return of Kiefer which aint happening any time soon

haha thank you for your honest answer, it is quite comforting that i'm not alone in feeling the inconsistencies. didn't a movie come out for 24? should have been released years ago, i think i'll stick to marvel franchise, ironically disney is not actually ruining the TV series....they just ruined Ant man but....marvel is imo is currently beating DC, as far as TV goes, when i felt that DC out did them due to marvel's only interest in movies for quite a while.....
Edit: just an fyi kiefer is the voice actor for the main protagonist of Metal Gear Solid V...it's pretty awesome.
BACK TO BASHING ON ARROW i feel like if arrow did not make the mistake of pandering to PC / social media approval, they would be able to tell the super hero stories that actually sold. too many tv series are just trying so hard to inject gay characters just for the sake of saying, hey we aren't homophobic and respect the LGBT community. arrow is making a huge mistake in attempting to bend over for feminist, there are far too many dominant female roles....the main character was a chauvinistic playboy, he doesn't somehow become a soft bitch after going through survival training for would be academically gifted and physically beautiful, strong willed women, like wtf is wrong with society. he also doesn't somehow coddle them when they have emotional outburst....and make stupid decisions on the whim of an emotional thrill and urge, we don't respect women like that, and arrow has to stop saying all strong men will accommodate to it. (almost all the males are completely tech illiterate, brutes, and savages, unfaithful as well) oliver's dad cheated on his mom, which gave right for his mom to cheat...the fuck? then oliver sleeps with everyone, laurel's dad can't hold a relationship with his mom and her mom is the first to start a new. diggle (correct me if i'm wrong) divorced his wife before re-marrying am i correct? THEN having a kid. atom's wife also died on him......if i recall....so if i'm reading in between the lines right, i'm thinking the writers want the audience to subtlety believe all men are at the center of fault for divorce. oh felecity's "bimbo mother" also is single, i forgot how that went but, she was the one person in the family who "never gave up on her" yep so i guess that implies the dad did. male bashing at it's finest.
Haha that is true the parts about Arrow, all the male "role models" in parents are shit. Malcolm abuses Tommy to an extent too, gives him all the money then just pulls the plug randomly and harshly treats him. Then the males in the show are shown off to be useless relationships too, with Oliver sleeping with many females in the show, lorrel sara felecity the beautiful russian speaking ceo (god she was hot xD). The only one he hasn't slept with is Nisa and that would make a funny story line. (might copyright that just incase!)
The 24 situation well, it ended on Day 8 right and we all waa waa because Chloe had to say goodbye. Then 24: Live Another Day happened which tied up a few loose ends and was well received i think. Me and my dad enjoyed it anyhow due to it being set in London and Stephen Fry was the prime minister :D However then it kinda died, it is however now being re branded, live another day 12 episodes will be back for a season 2 but without Jack, maybe a few cameo roles but Kiefer still isn't keen on the idea. Thus they are branding it with a young kid in his 20s to be the next guy. The next Jack, lets see how that works. 24 without Jack is like Top Gear with Clarkson, it ain't going to work
What was your favorite season of Arrow btw? 1, 2 or 3? I loved the pure brute force killing in Season 2 where Slade was picking people off left and right. However the Ras story started off well in season 3 and was pretty interesting especially when Oliver got bladed. But season 1 was fun due to he was a bad ass then, killing people and doing it properly :3

I don't think anything compares to season 1 for me. maybe it's the fact it was a new story, but there was so much emotion and growth tied into season 1. The concept of a "backstory" was also amazing at the time because the back story was actually required to tell the present day story, whereas right now i feel that because the writers chose to stick with it as a point of "marketing" or selling of the show, it feels contrived and forced. the background story projection isn't on par with the actual main story. and it's not interesting enough to me to warrant some of these things but i suppose if you want to introduce things in the future, this can't be avoided. I think also it's due to the fact laurel was his main love interest which i think she's fucking hot, and she made a great girlfriend. (this was before she wanted to become a hero) a cunning lawyer or attorney, and a family each struggling to make things work and be a better self for tomorrow really resonated with me. they looked....well human, and you see glimpses of the brilliance in each character when they make those changes. like the part where laurel had a drinking problem due to communication with her father, but overcame it inevitably. i think they really captured such an emotional low and high, that attempting to replicate it, devalues it's previous episodes....slade killing his mother infront of him while he could do NOTHING to stop it made the viewers and me feel vulnerable imo. and we got to see how he dealt with that, and come back.....i suppose if i were to sum it up entirely, you could feel the struggle the entire time...while kind of hoping he would make it without actually knowing if he would, cause of how cunning the opposition is. You see a kind of "adolescent" laurel which is why i loved her character. you see her as a real person who goes out on dates, has ambitions, has interests, tries to be confident....and the puppy dog face she makes just melts me ROFL.
As far as season 2 goes, i barely recall the timeline of arrow due to how long they take breaks in between seasons. I remember a point where i lost interest because of how bad i felt they rushed the story line, it may have been season 2...not because of the fact slade wasn't totally awesome in fact, season 1 set such a high bar for season 2, i felt like they couldn't meet that same bar. the reason is they used alot of gimmicky throw away characters, like that dude who sold vertigo. i suppose a remake of "joker" in another world, or similar theme but the fact the guy broke out of prison twice and had to be dealt with is a joke. the guy wasn't even tech savy, all he had was knowledge of how to create a high, and it felt really corny that he was a threat. Arrow does a really bad job at creating bad guys that aren't the main antagonist, probably because their creativity is used solely on developing ones that can rival the main cast. Deadshot was SOMEWHAT ok, still doesn't warrant an episode with diggle probably alot cooler in the batman universe. they keep building up a side plot for diggle and his brother but you have no glimpse as to what type of man his brother was to be interested in it, diggles character is a bland honest morally high ground friend, that alone won't sell to my interest, there has to be more substance. what i did find GOOD about the season was the battle with slade, slade chose to make mirakuru warriors, and thea got trained by her dad which i still think is a great character. the mirakuru warriors was a big let down though because of how easily each one were defeated....it was supposed to be roids x 100, they were like makeshift superman's but most of them were still prone to KO shots.
Season 3, actually was setup really well for me, as far as the first half. It was the same feeling of season 1, the kind of bad "omen" feeling or the gut feeling of a looming bad decision on the horizon but a small window of opportunity. A very confident, fully trained oliver with new tech and team preparing to face a man who has the experience of a person in combat for what, 300 years? it was done so well, the father of nisa was this methodical calculating mastermind...then well you know my take on the rest in my previous post LOL i'm also not sure if it's me but the swords and props are SO badly made. it's so obvious that it's fake, it just kills the tension and moment entirely for me. like going limp during sex....there's no greater tension killer. the swords that oliver had to pick to duel ras, even though the fight scene was very well done. and yes nisa was a great character, but i feel like they blatantly made her lesbian and pretty much showed no ties she was even up for grabs by oliver LOL.
season 4 Does not have the dark atmosphere that is consistent with i suppose, the DC universe, or the season 1,2,3. it's in fact quite sunny, and boring....the people who are supposedly dead, aren't well...dead. Darhk's Lair where he meets officer lance, just makes me face palm. they literally just used a random set, placed black curtains over all sides of the wall and then placed a small random ikea shrine for him to put things in then LED lights. it's so badly done that i can't even feel the guy has enough money or authority to command this dangerous "hive" we heard about. but his ACTING is subliminal! he plays a very good bad guy. another methodical, cunning, cruel psychopath. this guy seems to lack any emotional sympathy the type which i feel is his strong point. you can at least reason with Ra's or Slade cause they were emotionally hurt but darhk feels like one of those notorious dexter killers who can't comprehend anything but the thrill of killing or submitting his opponent. i think it's all because of the way he keeps his eyes bugged out.
Last episode was a bit to much cringe for me. The love story might appeal for some but i felt that was silly and to walk into Damien's lair and fight off bad guys for 20minutes seems silly. Oh well at least we got to see Felicity's hot mom XD
Ok so...we justs had a crossover episode thingy. Flash Episode 8 and Arrow Episode 8 where the 1st and 2nd part. Flash 1st part was great...the Arrow 2nd part was terrible the ending as well holy TT
All I noticed was Felicity getting a hair cut for the whole episode so... It does move the storyline onwards. I'm guessing that + Show Spoiler +
Arrow will have to deal with the child issue while Flash deals with his time travel problems. In Flash, Barry cant run fast enought but in Arrow, he is back to speed and even speeding through time once more. DOH!
The child issue is a good sub plot but the way it is being done is shocking, for the next few episodes it will be Oli running off for playdates with his son whilst Felicity thinks he is cheating on her. Will conclude either they all become a happy family or Felicity leaves him. Yeah back in Flash land they are just getting some antidote together to make him fast, then whilst he in Arrow land he is not having any issues apart from time travel. Also time travel lord please TT what a piece of crap that is in shows like this. Oh well, nearly was a very very good 2 part episode, instead we get about 60 minutes of good tv followed by 20 minutes of...REALLY?
Arrow characters are far less annoying than Flashes...
Flash stories are also often stupid because many problems that could be solved by running are not for the sake of random balance.
Opening scenes on Arrow are often lame and unimaginative.
Damien Dark is a good villain, Flash currently lacks of villain that really matter, that we knows something of.
Overall, both series, with Agent of Shields and Gotham are currently peaking in quality at the same time... It's been a long time that I haven't enjoy those show like I do now.
For Flash/Arrow, I feel it might be a little bit of a stockholm syndrom. The flashback things and Cameos are more interesting in the Arrow... That Constantine one specially, hearing the theme music was cool, I hadn't realized they were from the same universe.
I can't stand the camera work in this show. And how one actor always stands still and then the other character walks towards him/her for a ''serious'' talk, x5 every single episode.

They said Barry moved more than Mach 2 when he traveled through time last time. So I guess you don't even need to travel close to speed of Light for that :D While Zoom travels few times faster than Flash but does not travel through time lol. The show itself makes no sense within its own logic.
I dont know if Felicity is dead for sure. People on Flash or Arrow like to reincarnate a lot, but if she is dead and stays that way, I dont think it is a bad thing. Felicity was just too good and boring and thats what I didn't like at her.
Felicity and Laurel are the weakpoints of the show. Felicity because of the way her character is written and Katie Cassidy is in my opinion not the right actor for the job.
Willa Holland (Thea), is emotional and the actress really show it. Thea isn't a simple black or white character. Also her doing some fighting, despite her size and skinny looking figure looks good. She is everything Laurel and Felicity is not and that is: interesting.
Laurel, ... she just seems so emotionless and she simply looks silly fighting with her long skinny legs. She looks like someone the wind would blow away... Caity Lotz who was one of the actors portraing Laurels sister Srah for example is a bit meatier, but damn that girl looks like she could fight and when you saw her you could belive that she is tough. Also her acting was way better...
Also the new arrow costume sucks, it looks like a bad action figure toy....

Felicity was a fan favourite. Managing to be a recurring character from a one off cameo and a recurring into a main character. Not many people can do that. As for Laurel, hello there Skyler White. Gotta have a bitch in the show where everyone hates so that the other characters will feel more loved. I will admit Sarah(Caity Lotz) had the better actress going for her.
I'm pretty sure she will be alright but paralysed from waist down. Ever since Felicity appeared, she gave me another character vibe, Oracle whose is a member of birds of prey. But I will admit that this is pretty a long stretch.
If Felicity is dead i think id be done, they should have killed off Laurel ages ago for her idiotic character she is annoying. To kill Felicity would only be fine if Arrow went back to being that killer instinct Arrow that actually got the job done and not let every bad guy get away and refuse to kill blahblah. If they don' then the show might become terrible. They killed his mom which was fair enough, they tried to kill Thea and brought her back ok, but to kill Felcitiy damn....
Worst part....we have to wait until 16th January to find out wtf went on. Stupid TV shows
Legends of tomorrow managed to do arrow better than arrow could in the most recent episode . Much prefered the batman forever vibe I got to what we have now
Felecity deserves a flipping slap for her latest episode of yeh im not marrying u for the 10th time. It's silly, why Oli puts up with it i don't know, should stick to just sleeping around again. Love the way the first thing she does when she can walk, is get up and walk out what a fkn bitch! still im sure they get back together as what happens 4 months later when someone "dies"
Yeah, this season has turned the show to absolute shit. They just seem to have no clue what made the show good in the first place... same problem in Legends of Tomorrow. Too many stupid characters played by bad actors with no real intentions behind them. We went from Raz who was quite well done and the fight scene with Oliver was the peak of this show into Damien Darhk who seems to play a parody of himself, there is just no way to take him seriously.
Im done with all the CW superhero shows. So much wasted potential, boggles the mind.

Yea, we went from this
into shit that is now shown every episode. I still consider season 1 by far the best.

still watching flash, i don't know why i'm watching legends of tomorrow tbh, should drop that too...
Really? I don't mind Legends of Tomorrow, to be honest, but it may just be the Prison Break bros that makes it interesting for me.
As for Arrow, I have been watching it on the side (of my computer monitor) while surfing porn at the same time, not really following the plot. It seems that this season is lacking the "overarching bad guy" plot, I mean, Damian Darhk seems fucking cool and all but he just shows up here and there every now and then and I have no idea what he wants to do exactly or what the team's actual plan is in terms of dealing with him, it's not like when Slade was a big threat and they had to keep making plans and shit to try keep one step ahead (or catch up). I'm so used to seeing that actor in Suits I keep thinking he's going to serve a subpoena or something because I have no idea what exactly it is he does (or wants to do) other than use telekinesis every now and then.
Flash I watch because I want to find out who Zoom is, but the whole running really fast to solve every problem is getting old as fuck.

Ehmmm what are you talking about Season 3 and Raaz were already bad.
Season 1 was kinda bad, but it had a certain appeal. Season 2 improved on that. Season 3 fucked it up, S4 only continued to fuck it up even more.
Raz season was sick, started amazing, only had a few stupid episodes. But most of that was good season, him dying so early maybe made it dumb but i liked how he came back and eventually won kinda story and how dark he had to do it. Season 4 so far i can understand why people are not liking it, some episodes have made me cringe TT seems to be targeting more of a sitcom vibe with the stupid love stories xd
Have you ever noticed that every single intra-character conflict is about keeping something from one another? Every...single...one. They even lampshade it once or twice before deciding to keep something from someone again.

That's why I was soo impressed with the last season of the Flash. Where Barry came out to Iris as having feelings for her in the christmas episode while a show like Arrow would drag it out for 2 seasons.
HOWEVER then Patty happened in S2.
Also one of my observations; Does anybody notice how the writing is soo bad that the writers can only write dialogue for two people at the time.
"Hey Oliver, can I talk to you for a moment" *Everybody leaves the room to make the writing more convinient*

Literally the only interesting thing about that show is the fact the martian manhunter is a main character.

The difference is that at times The Flash and Arrow showed us that under all of the shit there is still potential. With these shows we are pissed for them being soo bad.
Supergirl has zero redeeming qualities + isn't marketed at us in the first place.

Because nobody watches it, so no one can complain.

Supergirl in addition to poor writing and acting also has terrible fights and effects. Most of the time it is even worse than Smallville. Or I was younger at time of that show and could stomach shit shows easier.
Some have postulated that maybe she will be replaced by Black Siren from E-2 after her appearance later this season on Flash. I really hope this is the case, but it's still a kick in the nuts to kill off one of the few characters that's actually really evolved over the life of the show. I actually was really enjoying this episode up until the final scenes.
actually hit me, i never suspected Lorrel would go maybe it's just me but i always thought it was actually planning for someone else to go, maybe Speedy or defo Diggle brother which wouldn't been as bad. Hell even captain lance at one point i thought, but man that was actually pretty good ending to Lorrel. I would have prefered the Oli and Lorrel connection, but lol Speedy and Lyla literally only two girls on Arrow that Oli hasn't banged? xD Sarah - check Lorrel - check Felecity - check many many more whilst away on the island xd Oh well, interesting what happens now, i hope Oli goes darker again that was when the show was good, also i hope he doesn't get back with Felcity either, that can't happen now. RIP Lorrel Lance
The finale made no sense, nukes just vanished, the fight scenes were awful, filter, more green filter. Oh and everyone left except you know who. Did I mention there's no foreshadowing or anything. The finale was just that.
Oh and Oliver is Mayor now. It's like one room if writers has no idea what the other room is doing.
The last few episodes of The Arrow was really disappointing. It was all too cliche and the island flashbacks were mostly terrible and didn't add much to the plot. I'm surprised they didn't show the nukes all detonating in the atmosphere or wherever they went.
The writing for the character interaction just felt way off. I was actually going to start watching the flash but my roommate was really disappointed with the way they ended Season 2 as well.
Yeah watching the last episodes of this season was bit of a let down as was the last probably 5-10 episodes maybe. + Show Spoiler [Maybe? idk] +
The Arrow defeated Darhk on episode what 16? For then another 7 episodes to play out in resulting in him regaining powers, still hatching his plan and then becoming unbelievably strong after a nuke lands which made sense but still was pushing it. The Diggle sidestory about him dealing with his brothers death was probably the best thing about this season, that was played out really well and the ending of the season for him made sense. Felecity stories are just awful as everyone mentions, better to just restart her character in the next season if they are making one as it is just stupid. Speedy's story line is also weird, one minute she has crazed bloodlust from the pit needing to kill someone, the next she is perfectly normal.
But its Arrow and Oliver's storyline that hurts now, they need to re address the character and where it is going, i would much rather they went more "batman" with him and starting making him way more dark like before and even cut ties from Diggle etc and it was just him plus 1 or even just him. I do hope they re address alot in Season 5 as the show still has potential, season 1 and 2 were fantastic and the story line for 3 was superb with Raz but season 4 story line was a bit to farfetched and silly.
The show reminds me too much of Smallville, started off good, but then quickly turned to crap with love triangles, secrets and hacker/meme generator taking over the show. At this point Diggle is the only interesting character.

Still holding onto the slim possibility of Flashpoint completely removing Season 3-4 from existence.
This is true. Heroes of tomorrow can easily be moved around for time travel reasons and they introduced both universes being effected by flash's shit in last years combined episodes with vandal savage. Supergirl isn't even in the same dimension as the rest of the universe yet.
I do agree that a lot of the problems from this year were probably from the expansion of the writing staff to so many shows as a possible excuse for me to keep watching. Its getting season seven supernatural bad pretty fast.
Yeah the sheer savagery of season 1 and 2 with big names dying left and right was pretty huge, one minute your attached to a character and the next it was gone, whilst also learning about Arrow in general too, was great. I enjoyed 3 too due to what we had in that but 4 yeah lets not go there
Also after a quick google, season 5 is in production and being filmed with the story line being; + Show Spoiler +
Around him freeing the Russian ladies village from the incident on the island. That sounds like it could be fun but i do hope they don't waste that story into 5 episodes then some crazy Russian dude on steroids turns up trying to kill everyone with nukes and dumb stuff.
We are back! Airs tonight in America land. Cannot wait, not looked at anything for Season 5 just gonna watch the story unfold spoiler free (no trailers for me!)
second it! By the way, Russian mobsters actually speak quite good Russian, they are probably native speakers. Even blockbusters with big budget usually fuck up, don't hire native speakers and we get smth ridiculous. Oliver probably just learns the pronunciation, not actual language, but I can understand what he's saying.
I didn't hate on Laurel that much, Felicity though fuck my life her character is annoying as fuck. Writers really need to re work her this season PLEASE!!
Also im liking the start, i want more ruthless Arrow as this is good dark series in the making. Like season 2 when everyone was dying left and right, that was great TV.

They might just be able to save the series if it keeps going in this direction.
My thoughts exactly. In contrast Flash is as stupid as ever.
minus the Russian flashbacks is looking like it might have the same problem. The best parts so far are Diggle in the Army and the Bratva training/initiation. The main story is stupid, recruits new people who have 0 experience and Felicity is basically the one in charge which is actually stupid. I want a more ruthless Arrow back who doesn't need an IT guy and a 4 ft girl to help him fight meta humans and such........
Oh well, maybe it will be like season 2 and they will all die :D
Spoilered just in case but i don't think i spoilered anything :D

from what I understood he mostly agreed to it because he wants to be mayor a bit more. Also the Rags kid has real powers unlike other 3, so he might actually be a good recruit.

Yeah ragman has powers but i think he be more out doing his own thing for a while. What i hope happens is they all get killed off and i can see Diggle coming back in / needing help soon with that story line. Still needs to do alot to impress me, was the main bad guy naming himself "Prometheus" right? If so i think he has potential, looked very strong and cool. Wonder what his beef is!
I think I'm going to give up on this show. I had heard this season was supposed to go back to its roots so I thought I'd give it another chance after those last two seasons. But two episodes in and I just don't find it compelling at all. I hoped when the team dissolved at the end of last season it would go back to Oliver on his own but this new team don't seem that interesting. I don't like that one of them has actual powers, it could be like Angel Summoner and BMX Bandit.
Part of what also made the first season interesting is you couldn't really trust any a lot of the characters, Moira, Malcolm were always scheming and you often didn't know their goals, Quentin was trying to hunt the Arrow but you still kind of rooted for him, now we no longer have any characters like that. It's much more black and white. Also the Diggle Oliver relationship in the first two seasons was great and now there's no real relationship like that (maybe Oliver and Thea's but to a lesser extent). Instead we have Felicity giving annoying advice. I can't imagine taking advice from an ex, and revealing who he was to people he doesn't know (with the exception of Curtis) is crazy.
The new bad guy seems like a less interesting Danny Brick. It doesn't even make sense that Oliver hasn't stopped him already especially given that he's killing again. A bad guy who is just an ordinary criminal and not magical or trying to destroy the world is a good idea but it seems they haven't decided what they want to do with him yet, they just want a baddie. I'm not massively interested in Prometheus either. It's probably Tommy Merlin blaming Oliver for Laurel's death. Seeing as Arrow doesn't like leaving people dead I wouldn't be surprised if Laurel came back too.
I also had entirely forgotten who Evyleyn Sharp was until I googled it and I don't remember who the Russian guy who helped him in the flashback in episode one was, presumably someone from the island in the previous season but they made no impact on me.
Russian guy from the Island was the original one he saved on the boat when he helped them all escape. When he went to Russia in season 2 when he was banging that really hot girl who speaks Russian when she was taking over his company and they were helping deadshot or something. He was there too and he called in a favor he owed him or something.
However yeah i do agree, i am going to give this season a shot as i don't watch that many shows but i do hope his new "team" all get killed off or badly injured and Diggle is back sooner rather than later. Show would be fine with Diggle Oliver and Felecity. With Thea on the outskirts helping with Mayor duties. The direction they are taking Quentin is also very silly, they don't have the time to have a character like that sit on the sidelines and make random appearances, they need to either full on write him out of the show or bring him back as a player. I am sad as season 1-3 was great, so much omg omg moments and so much carnage, however the last 2 seasons really do push your limits to invest in the show. If it continues the way it is going they should rename the show to "Overwatch" or "Felecity Smoke" as she clearly is running this which is actually the most annoying thing in tv history!
Ah okay thanks, it is a couple of years since I saw the second season so that's why I'd forgotten the Russian guy. Season one was still my favourite. I didn't like that they brought Sarah back in season 2, it made that episode in season one where they think she could have survived but then accepted it seem kind of cheap. Same with in season 3 when they didn't actually kill Roy, or Sarah again.
I enjoyed the first half of season 3 for the roller coaster it was, the mid-season finale had a shocking ending which left me wanting more. But on the whole I didn't think it was great, it got very ridiculous, however I was still able to enjoy it, and I thought if they had actually killed Roy it would have been much more powerful. Last season I really didn't think much of it and so far this season isn't doing it for me either.
I agree with you about Quentin. The thing is they've already done the depressed drunken Quentin, and then they did the heart condition Quentin, and then they did the drunk and drug abusing daughter of Quentin. So doing the drunk one again doesn't really add anything to his character and it's hard to see where they can go to make him interesting again. I suppose the next thing is he'll be after Oliver again, they haven't done that since season 3 now.
Felicity at the start of season one as just a helper was interesting, then they did that character with Curtis last year. And now Felicity is doing that with her boyfriend in this last episode. Unfortunately that's the only role I liked her in, she's so preachy and self-righteous now. And she normally ends up right too which makes her even more irritating. I also could never see how her and Oliver could connect. As much as I don't like her anyway, they could do something interesting this season with the emotional fallout from them being broken up but it seems they're just largely ignoring that so far.
Yeah indeed, Quentin character is just a mess and its like they have no idea wtf they doing with him. Yeah the Roy and Sarah situation is made even more stupid when neither of them are in the show anymore...but still alive! So why not ill them off anyway, Sarah is maybe a bit different as she is in that other show i guess but still.
Killing Laurel off as we debated in the thread last season was the worst character to kill off out of what we had left. Anyone but her for me I hope we get a few killed off and some carnage so we can see a proper Oliver, at the moment as said the best part of this season is the Bratva training/story line T_T
Ok so when are the script writers going to just straight up rename the show to "Felecity" as it is becomming a real joke now! When you look back at season 1-2 and some parts of season 3, it is like they have replaced the writers completely. The corny directing and action scenes are become apparent to me now who can defend anything until the death but watching the latest episode even i face palmed and cringed.
Without the Bratva storyline and potentially saving with the diggle story i would be tempted to justs not watch this weekly and just binge watch it every now and then.
ye I also didn't get the point of tear scene with heavenrock or heavensomething
watching batman the brave and the bold animated series atm, that's rly interesting to see different type of arrow character, i'd say that in tv series we got some kind of a mix between canonical bats and arrow two in one
What the hell is going on with this show. The crossover episodes were an absolute joke + Show Spoiler +
Aliens i mean come on it was far-fetched enough as it was!!
The episodes before that weren't great either, the new team driving me nuts and the story so far was pretty meh. However, then the latest episode happened and well it's back to "arrow" we remember? + Show Spoiler +
Mr Terrific husband leaves him, after he finds out what he has been doing. Oliver gets played into killing Felecity's new boyfriend, they found out Eveline was working with Promethius and Diggle has been re arrested. Then to top it off the WTF why is Lorrel in the lair haha
The WTF at the end of that episode was a big one but before that the episode was actually doing good and was old arrow. Can't wait to see if it ends properly. But still the last few episodes before that were shocking.
The show is pretty terrible, but I appreciate they hire native Russian speakers. It's nice to hear a pure Russian speech. Several big budget movies do worse job when it comes to portraiting Russians people.
This last round of episodes where pretty good with the speedforce and what oliver did. I don't think its the worst season but its definitly not season 2-3 goodness.
Last 5 episodes? 13 onwards kinda saved this season, up until then it was probably on course for making me think hmmmmmmmm. I guess it's the "filler" episodes 1-10 which were just shocking, aka the fake/evil version of Laurel etc, what the hell was that xD
Chase/Prometheus villain is actually pretty entertaining and very "mind game" kinda drama which fun, wondering how it all is going to end too. The bratva storyline was so so good though, i like who plays Anatoly he is a great character i hope the story continues with him.
Ok no idea what they were thinking with how episode 1 went down on the new series. I mean the cliff hanger ending was great, but it seems very weak writing to start the next series 5 months later and then take individual incidents and walk through them in the next 20 episodes.
I mean Thea being on live support? Ollie is now trying to be super dad. Dig can't shoot because he has a bad shoulder? Evil inter dimensional Laurel is now enemy no1 (or so it seems right now).
Only good part was the ending to the episode where they have outted Oliver Queen as the Arrow again.
Episode 2 aired last night in America but i won't watch until next week.
