Some of Universe 4's strongest fighters can't even beat Roshi. I think the Battle Royale format made this whole thing too fodder heavy. I think a bracket with matches akin to the U6 vs U7 one (but still 10 fighters per team) would have worked better.
Also obligatory bullshit fake Goku tension every week is obnoxious at this point.
To elaborate on the bracket thing, something like:
+ Show Spoiler +Round 1 U7 vs U4 U10 vs U2 U6 vs U9 U11 vs U3
Semis U7 vs U2 U6 vs U11 (big surprise with Hit and U6 losing)
Finals U7 vs U11
And you wouldn't need to show every fodder 1v1 fight if you don't want to because of main characters taking breaks or character development or stuff.

I liked the episode. Didn't really expect Mafuba and it was a nice change of pace compared to always overpowering enemies. It also justifies taking mr Roshi with them to the tournament at least somewhat.

Imo the best part of the episode was when Ganos transformed into Mega Ultra Chicken

I really don't like that they got rid of the talisman girl so quickly, she looked so much more interesting that Roshi could ever be in this tournament.

mafuba is so damn OP, what a waste to use it on that bird

And here's the problem: why, in a tournament of so many different universes, people and fighting styles, is magic so underused? DB has always had a problem of everyone doing the same thing but some hit harder, and magic can actually make fights far more interesting. And they've used interesting stuff on one-note characters who get decked in under a minute.

Enjoyed watching Uchiha Roshi doing some nice reading of opponents movements and dropping some genjutsu. I have no problem with the fights being a bit of a squash, just sells Roshis technical side well and his right with DuckMan did take him pretty much to death. Goku letting him die would have allowed him to asspull a new form, or they could've let him die and have Goku find out later and have him realise how he's indirectly killed Roshi.

That episode was way better than I had expected

To be honest it doesn't bother me too much that Roshi can take out the U4 folk. They strike me as petty tricksters, the kind that just try to pull a fast one on someone because that's all they got - but they also aren't all that competent at it. They might be able to punk out one of the tougher ones if they're lucky, and they played U9 against U7 to the death of U9, but they themselves are pretty weak, not to mention unsympathetic, characters. A rather fitting smackdown for the universe other than U11 that really just needs to disappear already.

Better episode than expected, Goku jerking around like usual.

What if Zen-oh wants to destroy some of the universes because he can't count that high?

When we first met zenoh i thought there was a regality about him. He only looked childish, like how he knew goku's mannerisms were a big no no and he had to calm everyone down. Sad to see he is literally a 3 yr old

I wouldn't be surprised if he's doing it to get the best possible tournament and hes saved a few for "Round 2".

I like the contrast shown from Roshi compared to Goku/Vegeta.
He explained it pretty well. A lot of the fighters take a long time to take care of their opponents and don't finish fights quickly and effectively. Roshi is technical and has way more experience, so he understands that his fights need to be very fast and to the point. I liked it.

Some elimination statistics guys.
Universe/Wins/Losses
7 (ours) - 26/1 6 - 11/1 2 - 2/2 9 - 1/10 3 - 0/3 4 - 0/6 11 - 0/7 10 - 0/10
As you can see, most Universes have not done anything.

I agree , I can see that happening !
Actually I think Zen-Oh is a parody of dragon ball fans , us basically.....how those in the animation/manga business see us from the inside , as spoiled kids with too much power who just want to see cool shit without appreciating anything XD

I didn't count it like you did but it really felt like U7 was doing all the eliminating with U6 being in second (mostly at the expense of U11).
