Well when Goku fights agaisnt Frieza for the first time, he does say that he only won because Frieza rushed to kill him as soon as he achieved his gold form, and that the story would be different if he had trained more. Vegeta was also stronger than Frieza at that point. After that Goku surpassed Vegeta and so did Frieza aparently so it's not that far fetched imo, but still I do think power levels are a joke and no longer something interesting.
Edit: Also I don't know if Vegeta will cat up this time. He has always been goku's rival but their rivality died in the buu saga when Vegeta died. After that he was not necessary to be as strong as goku. That's why he never gets SSJ3. His role is over as a rival as he assumes the role of simply second strongest saijan. That's why he doesn't get the red form either. For some reason they decided to give him blue, but my guess is that the only reason why that happened was so they could show Goku's weaknesses, as well as having some cool moments against freezer. He didn't even get to kill the guy. And after that Goku became stronger anyway. I think we'll see a SSJ3 situation again. The goku vs vegeta plot is over, so theres no need for vegeta to be that strong anymore.

Vegeta wasn't stronger than Freeza, he was only winning because Freeza was running completely dry on energy from wasting time with Goku in the Golden form he hadn't mastered yet.

My personal fanfic ending:
Many a long hard battle later, most of every team is eliminated; U6 is reduced to Hit and Caulifa, U11 has only Jiren and Toppo, U7 has only Goku, Vegeta, and Freeza, and the rest are either on their last legs or eliminated. A last-ditch attack from the ace of U2 divides the U11 fighters, leaving Goku face-to-face with Toppo. After a challenging match, Toppo is defeated; not knocked out, but hardly able to continue fighting. Seeing his friend in trouble, Jiren unleashes a massive attack, defeating his U2 opponent and quickly rushing to the aid of Toppo, who is able only to mutter a few words before collapsing, unable to continue fighting. Jiren then finds himself face to face with Goku.
Very quickly Goku is forced to raise his strength to full power, but even that isn't enough - though he has impressive endurance, it is clear Jiren will prevail. Then Vegeta steps in, remarking that Goku is simply not up to the task and should leave it to Vegeta. For once, though, Goku starts to realize that this isn't going to be enough - for once, they need to work together to win. Goku remarks how it's not so different from how they fight together to match Whis. With great reluctance, Vegeta agrees, raising his power as well to the max, and properly joining the fight.
Though together they are stronger, it still is a tough battle; Jiren proves to be quite capable of taking them both on. Minutes into the fight, Goku, previously damaged, is knocked aside; Vegeta alone can't keep up with Jiren and is knocked aside as well. As Jiren comments on the impressive resilience of Goku, he prepares a strong energy blast to knock him off the ring, Vegeta sitting powerless to fight back - as a sudden, powerful energy beam comes from behind and hits Jiren square in the back. Both Vegeta and Goku remark that they couldn't sense that attack, and Jiren recoils in surprise/pain - as a laughing Golden Freeza enters the fray, mocking the remarkable simplicity of the Saiyan peasants. The true fruits of his training are finally revealed: perfect control of this truly daunting form.
Though Jiren quickly recovers, this also gives both Goku and Vegeta ample time to recoup and get back on their feet. Together as three fighters, they once again take on Jiren - this time, with a clever flanking maneuver. Though Jiren is tough, he is quickly worn down, being unable to match the three warriors working in tandem.
Then they all finish U11 and everyone else, erasing all universes with U7 alone surviving. Zenos come up to Goku, thanking him for helping to organize such a cool event. Soon they head home, Super Dragon Balls in tow - excited about their victory, but also melancholy about the price paid for victory.

Looks like this week is an off week. Bummer.
|
Yeah at least I have the English dub episode to watch. This next episode looks like it's going to be really good though.

If it's another letdown then I will have some sadness.
I heard some week or other was double ep week as well.
|
Double Ep isn't until October 8th. It's the special.
|
Wait the Frost episode is next week?

I would love to see Freeza in a situation where he has the choice to assist / make a save for one of the other U7 people, especially any of the filthy monkies. Although I guess this would need Goku and Vegeta to sell being under threat which they've failed to do so far.

They managed to sell Hit being in genuine trouble, so if they try hard enough they can sell Goku and Vegeta being in trouble.
|
Didn't include Gohan since he's reverted to Saiyan arc Gohan having lost the ability to DODGE and unaware of Piccolos regenerating arm powers. I assume Freeza would just let him die.
True Hit did appear to run into difficulty. Helped he hasn't been shown sandbagging the entire time. Looking forwards to double episode all the same.

I don't get why they don't put more screen time for freeza. Hopefully they will justify replacing buu.
|
I just want the form of SSJ3 to be relevant again. At least give someone else the powerup as well or incorporate that long hair style into another transformation. Was the most badass form the show has given us imo.

Freezer is just doing the smart thing right now: keep a low profile, snipe at the edges of the other teams such that there won't be much defense for them against gangbanging their ace later on.

I like this and it would feel consistent with our usual DBZ endings. But after shit got so weird with Zamasu, I am not really expecting a classic shonen ending here. I also kind of expect that it will come down to U11+U6+U7 and that it will be a glorious FFA. This FFA will be so glorious that Zenoh will stop U6/U11 from being eliminated and say that everyone who made it this far and is putting on this fight gets to hang out.
Basically:
- Kale and Caulifa go nuts on someone and Zenoh clearly digs the hell out of it - They both end up finally getting taken out - Zenoh goes "ooowhoooaaaaaa~!~!~" and stops the grand priest before he eliminates their universe

+ Show Spoiler +
That was a good way for Roshi to go out. Vegeta kind of got shafted but still quite good.
|
Roshi died trying to ECW King Piccolo... I'm sorry I watched Dragon Ball I guess. Vegeta could have blasted the rocks away immediately and yelled at Metal. How the fuck is anyone going to beat Jiren? Why has Roshi only used the paralysis technique he developed once? Where was Goku?

Funny how mafuba is basically on par with hakai but not lethal and needs to be signed, which is apparently difficult unless you're frost lol @_@
