I hope Buu wakes up, but if he doesn't I think they are going to give the spot to Yamcha. The joke has just gone too far. I am starting to feel bad for him. But Yamcha is even more useless than Tien. And Tien is already completely useless.
|
Please no yamcha hes been one of the most useless characters since the start of dbz, the pinnacle of his uselessness was shown when they trained non-stop for like a whole year in prep of the androids and he died in like 2 seconds to the first one they saw.
|
This boner some people have for making old shitty characters relevant makes no fucking sense. It disagrees with 1000 components of the story. Tien is trash tier and Yamcha doesn't even have a tier he's so fucking low at this point. Let the characters fade.
|
Tien had his shine in the Cell Saga. That was it. And it was impressive. But I agree. Some characters should just fade into obscurity and be replaced. I'd rather see more Hit, Cabba, and Kale than Tien, 18, 17, Roshi, or Yamcha
|
Can we discuss Roshi? Out of all characters that need to fade, he is #1 far and away. The whole "lol sexual assault" thing has not aged well and needs to end.
For anyone who is more into Japanese culture than I am, is this where we are seeing cultural divergence? It is not only poorly done and unfunny, it is also weird and inappropriate. The stuff Roshi is doing is downright sexual assault. Its not him falling in love with girls or being generally pervy, he's touching and chasing.
|
I don't mind the androids since they are actually strong and not nearly as over used as some of the characters who have been around since Dragon Ball. Like Yamcha is really bad, horrible character at this point.

Roshi, I'm afraid is just a relic of Toriyama's addiction to his long-running fondness for gag comics. It was the biggest thing I didn't like about DB and I'm afraid it surfaces now and again.

New chapter of Dragon Ball Super manga, pretty interesting
Blue forms have pretty different meaning in the Manga and Anime.
|
I think Yamcha is the "comedic relief." Like, we all need that one character to rail against no matter what and he can be used at certain times. But he's just lingering. Like, come on. Give it up. The best part was the baseball tournament.
Roshi does need to get his shit together. He's 150+ years old. Even Jiraiya knew where to draw the line between being enticed by young flesh and going out of his way to assault them. Besides, he did his perviness for the sake of his book.
|
For those curious, manga stream has all Dragonball Super manga chapters, it's 24 chapters, and Frieza arc is skiped. It's a fast and interesting read.

Just caught up with the manga. Didn't they perfect this in the dimension Whis sent them to? And in the manga, Vegeta switched between red and blue to make it lasts longer. But this has to be after he did Kaioken at the tournament with Hit, right? Damn the manga and anime are too off -_-;

Hmm. Well this manga is certainly taking a significantly different direction to this arc than the anime. I kind of like it, actually.

Damn the manga and anime are too off -_-; Well, there is no God Kaioken in the manga. Just both of them working to perfect their form. Vegeta arrives at this constant switch between God and Blue being the best way to go about it after training in the time chamber to take on Zamasu.
Essentially, that God/Blue switch is kinda how Goku deals with Hit in the manga. Goku perfecting Blue is now what puts him ahead of Vegeta (unlike the anime where it's Kaioken spam). Also in the manga, the reason Vegeta got trashed by Hit was the fact that Blue drains too much energy. He transformed to show Cabba the form, and from that and the previous fights, he was so done he could only bring out 10% of his full power against Hit even with Blue.
So far the manga is definitely doing better. But there's still room to mess it up. And I guess they kinda need to get themselves a 2nd Zen-oh too.
|
Okay. That makes sense. I'm hoping they don't get another Zen-oh and just keep it to one. And then figure out a way to deal with Zamasu. The manga is looking to be the one saving grace. Maybe DBS-Kai can redeem it, but I'm not going to hold my breath. Can't wait for the TFS series of Super.
|
Also just re-read the manga, Trunks healing powers were hinted in previous chapters

I've never read manga and starting with super sounds like fun. Anyone mind giving me a quick run down?

Yeah Baba did that in the buu saga by bringing Goku back for 24 hours. It would be the same with Freeza. Kind of interesting but also silly as I don't see Freeza ever fighting as a team...

The DBS manga is significantly more coherent than the anime with regards to this zamasu fight
